True Affections: Mending heart
Chapter one
“Hey baby, how you doing?” Kagome asked smiling, even though the boy on the other line couldn't see it.
“Look Kagome…” he trailed off as if looking for a good way to say his next few words.
“What's wrong?” Kagome could sense something in the way he had said that “is everything alright?”
“well, the thing is... I don't think we should see each other anymore babe, we need some time apart,” he hesitated, “you're very sweet, you're beautiful but the sex babe was horrible. I mean I could barely stay up, you were awful and I can't stay with someone who can't give good sex.”
“Bu-but... you told me the sex felt great... we can try again if you want. you know it was knew to me please Naraku don't do this, I love you. You said you loved me too, remember?” Kagome ramble out as tears gathered in her eyes. She knew he wouldn't change his mind, he never changed his mind. But she had to try.
“No, I don't want anything to do with you, you couldn't satisfy me, why do you think I cheated on you all those times,” he snapped at her, “the truth is Kagome, I never really liked you, when my friends told me you were a virgin I knew I had to hit that; Big mistake that was.”
“No Naraku, please don't do this to me, I love you please,” her cheeks stained with tears, “I'll do anything, give me another chance.” She cried and her body rattled with sobs.
Naraku sighed getting a little bit irritated at her pleading, the girl beside him was even more peeved at how long her man was taking. “Look kagome, I already told you, I don't want anything to do with you. You got your chance and you blew it.” He shut off his phone leaving a broken down Kagome on the other line to shed her tears alone.
“All done baby?” the girl beside him asked trailing kisses down Naraku's neck.
“Yeah, now show me what you've got girl.” Naraku ripped off her bra and threw her on the bed.
“Hmm…my pleasure.”
^_^
“Naraku, I lo-” she was cut off by the beeping of the phone. Her heart ached and she collapsed to the floor in tears. How can this be happening? I thought he loved me. I thought he would be the one. But all he was is a lying whore. Her face turned to anger. She smashed her cell phone against the floor in fury. She thought feeling angry would stop her heart from bleeding but it was no use. The thought that he used her made new tears rush out of her eyes. She was back where she started broken and alone.
She had no idea how long she'd been on the floor crying her heart out when the door to her apartment opened.
“Oh god, Kagome what's the matter?” the girl rushed to her side immediately. Kagome didn't respond but just continued to cry. “Kagome tell me who did this to you please.” The girl put her arms around her and pulled her to a comforting hug.
“Na-ra-ku... Oh god Sango, he broke up with me,” Kagome bawled out shaking with tears. Sango looked down at the girl and her eyes softened.
“I'm sorry to hear that Kagome besides... he was a jerk anyway, and you don't need him. You're too good for him trust me,” She stroked her head gently, “besides there are other guys out there who really know how to treat a girl.”
“I loved him so much, how could he do this to me?” Kagome searched Sango's face for an answer. Sango's looked at her with pity. The girl in front of her was not the girl she usually saw. Her beautiful blue eyes were no longer bright and sweet, but clouded and full of pain. Her black raven hair that always sparkled and shone were now dull and a complete mess. Her face her was a mixture of tears and black running mascara.
“I swear on my life Kagome, I'll never let this happen to you again.” Sango said and kissed her forehead. “If I ever see that bastard again, his going to regret the day he messed with your heart.”
“No! Sango I love him…”
“Kagome, you can't possibly be serious, I mean look what he did to you. You gave him your virginity not a week ago and he dumps you?” Sango asked surprised. “I'm sorry Kagome but…his never coming one mile near you again.” She said sternly and got up pulling Kagome up with her. “Come on, go to bed and relax.”
“But Sango I-”
“Yeah I know... you love him.” Sango looked piteously at her, “everything will be fine, get a good sleep and I'll have dinner ready by the time you wake up. I have good news that might cheer you up.” sango smiled weakly at her.
Kagome didn't even acknowledge her smile and slipped under the covers. Sango stayed back and watched as she drifted off to sleep.
She sighed and went to her room to get undressed and start preparing dinner.
*flashback*------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------
“If it isn't cry baby Ka-go-me.” A boy laughed pinching her cheeks for every syllable of her name. Kagome's eyes began to water. She tried to fight back the tears but it was no use. Soon her body started shaking with sobs.
“Awww is the big baby already crying? All I did was pinch you a little bit.” He laughed along with his friends, “look how ugly she is when she cries,” they laughed poking her face.
“Leave her alone you big bully,” their head snapped to the girl in red tights, steel toe boots and a rain coat.
“Or what? You'll punish us with your bad taste in clothes?” he mocked her and received a high five from his friend.
“No, I'll kick your sorry little ass you jerk.” she launched at him and kicked him in the nuts, “how do you like Mr. Steel toe hmm?” she smirked at his contorted face and turned on the others, “anybody else want some?”
The rest of the guys ran off with their tails between their legs leaving their leader on the ground clutching his crotch. The girl approached kagome with outstretched hands.
“hey are you okay? My name's Sango, at your service.” The girl smiled warmly. Kagome hesitantly took her hand and pulled herself up.
“Thanks for helping me Sango,” Kagome sniffled and smiled.
“No problem, I really don't like those guys,” Sango shrugged and wiped the tears from kagome's face. “You shouldn't cry so much, it's a weakness those jerks feed on.”
Kagome nodded with a smile wiping away her tears. Sango smiled at her and linked arms with her.
“come on, I'll lets play before recess is over.” Sango said running pulling a smiling Kagome along. Ever since then, they've been best friends.
*end flashback*----------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------
Sango sighed, she had warned Kagome about Naraku many times but Kagome never heeded her words. Now she's paying the price. She could wipe the tears from Kagome's eyes forever, but she couldn't wipe the tears in her heart.
“Yes Mrs. H. I'll take care of her. Bye, say Hi to Souta and Kohaku for me. I'll tell her.” Sango dropped the phone and finished preparing dinner. She looked up to find kagome staring at her with slightly red eyes from crying.
“You called my mother? What did she say?” Kagome sat down at the dinner table.
“She said you shouldn't cry over that bastard Naraku and that you deserve better than him. She says you should be more careful with the boys you chose next time.” Sango shifted slightly, “are you going to be alright?”
Kagome looked up slowly before giving a small nod. Her eyes were looking at Sango but weren't seeing her.
“Here, I made your favorite,” Sango placed a bowl in front of her, “Pho, I know you'll love it. Eat up I have good news.” Kagome smiled back weakly and began to eat.
Sango watched the girl eat and anger rose inside her. Naraku is going to pay for this.
The girls finished eating dinner and each took a shower in their rooms. Kagome took longer than usual causing Sango to worry. She sighed with relief when she saw Kagome enter the living room with fresh new clothes and looking as beautiful as ever but with red eyes. Sango knew she had cried in the bathroom over the breakup and shook her head in pity.
“Okay so here's the news.” Sango grinned wildly, “we got into the new camp and we're in the same cabins!” she shrilled. Kagome looked up at her overly excited friend and smiled. She'd wanted to go there since she seen the commercials. She worked all through the last summer break to pay for it but it was worth it. Naraku had followed her to where she got the job.
The thought of Naraku caused tears to infiltrate her eyes. She started to sob all over again.
“Please stop crying; you'll have to get over him. We're leaving tomorrow,” Sango hugged her, “I thought you'd be happy to know, you've been dieing to get there since you saw the commercials. you know its one of the best camps in Japan… it's on a private island, which just happens to be where the camp ground is. Great beaches, great views, great guys…” She winked at her, “Isn't that great? Souta and Kohaku will be coming with us as well. Aren't you excited?” Sango tried to read Kagome's face.
Blank.
“Yeah… I'm excited.” Kagome sighed, “I've faced the harsh truth that I won't ever find someone who loves me. I made a mistake in choosing Naraku and now…” she trailed off not wanting to remember what he had said to her.
“Kagome you're 16 soon to be 17, you can't waste your life on that low life loser. You've got bigger fish to fry than that shrimp. Trust me girl you can have any boy you want because you are drop dead gorgeous.”
“No…you don't understand… I don't want to be in anymore relationships; I will never fall in love with another boy for as long as I live.”
“Well... then who needs boys anyway? Okay so you promise your gonna forget about that creep Naraku?” sango asked pleadingly.
“Naraku who?” both girls laughed and continued to chat about what to pack for the trip to summer camp. Sango knew Kagome didn't mean what she'd said about never falling in love again, she also knew Kagome was pretending to cover the hurt she was feeling. Kagome was too gullible and a tad bit shallow not to find the next hot guy she sees the one. But at least she's going to stop crying. They spent the evening packing their bags and making sure they had everything they needed for camp.
^_^
“Kagome hurry up and get ready we have to pick up Souta and Kohaku at the shrine before we head off.” Sango hollered.
“Coming! Does this make my ass look big?” she turned around.
“hmmm, yes.”
“good…” Kagome smiled and jumped into Sango's Toyota Camry hybrid red convertible. She was determined not to let anything or anyone ruin her summer camp vacation (sort of).
Sango started the car and revved them out the building's parking lot. They picked up Souta and Kohaku at the shrine who were very excited about going on their first summer camp.
Since the buses that left for camp was close to the shrine they decided to walk it. No sense in wasting gas and polluting the air any farther.
“What type of camp is it anyway? I know it has great beaches and many fun activities but… what exactly do you learn at this camp?” souta asked.
“Umm, well it said in the brochure…” Kagome pulled it out, “here it is. Many different types of fun activities, like: swimming, kayaking, football, soccer, baseball. Basically all sorts of sports activities, even some I've never heard of before.”
“This is going to be so awesome.” Kohaku said excitedly as they approached the busing area.
“We go on one of the coach buses, with the T.V and -,” Sango started off
“And movies and video games,” Souta interrupted finishing her sentence with a wide grin.
“AWESOME!!! We're here,” Kohaku and souta ran for one of the bus doors but was stopped by a rather large hand.
“Guys hold up you forgot your things!” kagome called after them but they were too far gone.
“Please present your pass, your name and your age which will be recorded on this list.” The man said showing them the list. Kohaku and souta stared at him before backing off.
“Uh…what pass?” they both asked earning a look from the man at the door.
Sango and kagome walked up to them.
“Thanks for leaving your things back there you two;” Sango said sarcastically, “what did you guys pack anyway? It weighs a ton.” Both boys gave an apologetic look and turned to the big man blocking their entrance.
“Oh right passes, here you go sir, I've got one for each of them, this is Kohaku Taijiya and this is Souta Higurashi, both age 10.” Sango gestured at them both and wrote down the needed information. Without even a heads up, Kohaku and souta rushed into the bus.
When Kagome and Sango tried getting on the bus the man told them that they'd have to wait for their buses to arrive and that this bus only took juniors. Souta and Kohaku did a high five earning glares from Kagome and Sango. They said their good byes and walked off, waiting for their bus to arrive. They looked around and saw a few familiar faces from their school but a lot more people they didn't know.
After waiting for about 10 minutes, the junior's buses departed and the senior's buses arrived.
Both girls showed their passes and boarded the bus and sat down. Kagome and Sango chatted away as more people boarded the bus. A few minutes later they heard shouts and yelling and stepped off the bus to check it out. They put their belongings on their seats so no one would take their spot.
There was an argument between a silver haired boy and a dark haired girl.
“You're such a slut kikyo, why don't you just go cheat on me with the whole fucking school!” the boy yelled.
“I never cheated on you Yasha, what's wrong with you? I told you he was my cousin and recently moved here from Osaka, I was showing him around!” the kikyo girl yelled just as loud whipping her hands up in protest.
“You must think I'm fucking stupid to believe that bullshit.” He gestured at himself. A crowd had gathered around the two of them who seemed oblivious to it. “Doesn't even matter, we're through. I'm done with you and all your shit.” The boy jerked around, “what the fuck are you all gawking at, don't you have your own lives,” he stalked into the bus pushing by a few people on his way as well as kagome.
He didn't even apologize and didn't bother to give his pass, name and age when he boarded the bus. The `bouncer' you could say, didn't bother to ask either.
Who does that guy think he is? So what if he just broke up with his girlfriend, that's no need to be rude. Kagome's brow drew down.
The crowd started to disperse and the Kikyo girl didn't seem too unhappy about losing her boyfriend.
“Ugh, don't you just hate people who make a scene over stupid things like that,” sango said entering the bus, “I mean seriously keep your private life to yourselves,” she entered the bus and as she walked down the isle noticed their things was on the floor and stopped. Kagome looked at who was seated on their seat. She wasn't surprised to see the same silver haired boy in their seats with an angry look on his face. He didn't even notice she was there or didn't care.
“Excuse me, but didn't you see our things on this seat when you came here?” sango tried not to sound rude.
“Yes? I saw it. What's your point?” he looked at her irritated. Kagome glared at him annoyed. Could he possibly be that dense?
“Her point is for you to get the fuck off our seats jerk face” Kagome said from behind Sango.
“Look, I didn't see either of your ugly asses here when I got on the bus so I ain't gonna move.” He flipped them off and looked away from them.
“Why you annoying piece of sh-,”
“Forget about it Kagome, lets find new seats.” Sango cut her off glaring at the boy. “Come on.”
“Yeah whatever.”
They carried their things to the front and took a seat. Kagome sighed, the nerve of that boy and Sango thought she could understand how he felt. He's just angry that his girlfriend played him for a fool. Something kagome could relate to.
The last boy boarded the bus; he was running late and arrived with two tickets in hand. He had short black hair, dark blue eyes and a nicely built body. He entered the bus and winked at both Kagome and Sango. Sango blushed but Kagome was unfazed by it. He walked to the back of the bus and took a seat behind the silver haired jerk. The bus took off. Some people watched the movie playing while others, mainly the guys, played video games. This is going to be a long ride… might as well enjoy it. Kagome put her head back and watched the movie.
^_^
It took about an hour and a half to get to the island. The children were especially wary when the bus was on the two lane bridge. Most of them kept looking out incase the bus threatened to go over the side.
The bus came to a halt and the driver called out people's names, to make sure everyone who had given a pass was on the bus. He then led them to the mess hall where they received their cabin numbers and maps. They were told to head to their cabins and await their counselors. Kagome and Sango stayed back at the hall to look around for Souta and Kohaku, just to make sure they hadn't gotten in any trouble. When they saw them around a group of friends they waved and started to head towards their cabins. Aside from this morning, I think I'll really like this place. Kagome thought. Little did she know of what was coming next.
(A.N - And ends the first chapter of my first story. Hmm…I wonder what Inuyasha and Kagome really think of each other ^.O There will be lemons on much later chapters, before someone asks.)
