“There you are Kagome… we were worried about you.” Sango ran up to her seeing her arrive from the woods. “Where were you all by your self?”

 

“Oh nowhere… I went to look for some fruits…” Kagome replied with a blasé expression.

 

“But… we have enough fruits in the basket,” Sango raised a brow indicating she wasn't buying it.

 

“Well… I'm back aren't I?” she walked passed Sango with a blank look on her face.

 

“Are you alright?” Sango asked worried placing a hand on her shoulder compassionately. Kagome stopped but didn't turn around. She pushed her hand off her shoulder and gave a monotone “yes” before entering the cabin and lying shutting her eyes. If Sango were a demon she would have smelt the salt water welding up in her eyes but forced back from falling. Sango knew something was wrong with Kagome, no doubt about it… all she had to do now is find out what was wrong with her. For some reason she felt Inuyasha had something to do with it.

 

“Hey Sango my sweet heart…” Miroku called from behind her. “Come I want to show you something.”

 

“Shush…not so loud, I don't want everyone to know we're you know…” Sango shushed him and looked around the camp to make sure nobody had heard him.

 

Miroku quirked his brow, “are you ashamed of me?” he asked serious.

 

“Of course not… I just don't want everyone getting on our case that's all…” she smiled at him, “now what did you want to show me?”

 

“Oh yes… close your eyes and follow me.” She hesitated at first but finally gave in.

 

“It better not be something perverted Miroku… I swear I'll…”

 

“You'll fuck me?” he said hopefully.

 

She hit him lightly on the stomach or at least where she thought was his stomach and laughed. “You're still a dirty lil pervert aren't you?”

 

“You know me too well love.” He smiled as they continued walking, “almost there.” Sango could here the sound of a water fall, among other things.

 

“You're not gonna rape me and kill me then dump my body in the lake are you?”

 

“Of course not… I can't believe you'd say something like that,” he said bewildered.

 

“Well… I don't know what you do with girls when you're alone with them…”

 

“Umm… yes you do.” he smirked and a small blush stained her cheek. “Now for the grand unveiling… Voila” he removed his hands from her eyes and she gasped.

 

“What a beautiful site…” the scenery was one of the most beautiful and romantic place she had ever seen. There was a small waterfall with a spring at the bottom. Trees surrounded the place and decorated it with their many different colored leaves. Flowers of different kinds and colour made the place look like it was pulled right out of a movie. The ground was colored with exotic plants and flowers, the setting sun made the place look even more gorgeous.

 

“Oh Miroku…” she faced him and planted a passionate kiss on his lips. He let his hands slip around her waist as she wrapped her hands around his neck. This is the sweetest thing any boy has ever done for me.

 

Damn… I should surprise her more often. He thought as they broke apart and looked into each other's eyes.

 

“Thank you…” was all she said before hugging him compassionately. He hugged her back with his entire being and sniffed in the wonderful scent of her hair.

 

“Come with me I have something else to show you.” he held her hand and she accepted eagerly. They walked for a while and a smile crept onto Miroku's face seeing how happy she was as she looked around the ravine. It truly made him happy.

 

The next surprise made Sango gasp even louder than the first time. There in front of her was a picnic dinner for the two of them. Since there were no candles, he light up two sticks and stuck them in the ground. Sango's face light with delight and she jumped on him.

 

“You are the sweetest guy ever Miroku.” She kissed him over and over on the lips.

 

“And it's all because of you Sango.” He kissed her passionately. They broke apart and he offered her a spot on the floor. They sat down and he presented her with a single red rose. He had spent all afternoon looking for a rosebush when he stumbled onto this place. She received it eagerly and blushed.

 

“Wow… how did you find this place?” she asked

 

“To be honest, I was looking for the perfect gift to give you Sango. I guess this place will have to make up for it.” He shrugged. He offered her an apple and she bit it. They scooted closer towards each other. They fed each other sharing laughs and looking into each other's eyes. After the two of them were full Sango decided it was her turn to do something nice for him.

 

“Close your eyes.” he smiled and shut his eyes obediently. “No peaking…” he heard her say a little farther away. She tiptoed into the water and removed all her clothes. “Now open `em.”

 

He slowly opened his eyes and his eyes nearly popped out of his head as he saw a naked Sango in the spring. She was smiling at him and the only thing that was on his mind was. `DAMN SHE'S HOT.'

 

“Are you just gonna drool there or are you gonna join me?” she asked seductively and instantly Miroku was heading towards the spring with his shorts falling down.

 

“Oh hell yes I'm coming.” He jumped in the water cannonball style and the impact caused his shorts to leave him. Sango blushed seeing his shorts floating nearby and started to laugh. His goofy face when he jumped into the water was just so damn adorable.

 

“You know…it's not good to swim right after you've eaten.” Sango said watching him do laps.

 

“Who said we'll be swimming..?” he came close to her and wrapped his hands around her waist. He felt her hard nipples on his bare chest and their slippery bodies clung together. “And besides, this was your idea.” He pushed himself on her and a smile graced her lips.

 

“Thank you for all this Miroku…” she looked into his eyes as blue as the sea and felt mushy feelings in her stomach. She knew Miroku was sweet, but she had no idea he was this sweet.

 

“No Sango… thank you for giving me a chance.” Their lips met and she let his tongue inside her mouth and taste her. Their bodies pressed tightly against one another and their intense heat and passion made the water slightly warmer. They pulled apart for air and smiled at each other.

 

“Now my summer will be perfect.” Miroku sighed happily and they drifted together in the water naked, both of them wanting this night to never end.

“Hi guys I'm back…” Ayame had just come back from swimming and she looked around to see Kagome still in bed, Inuyasha nowhere to be seen, Rin and Sesshomaru sitting together in the cabin… where are Miroku and Sango?

 

“Hey Ayame… how was your swim?” Rin smiled making space for her to come in.

 

“Good… where are Miroku and Sango?”

 

“Knowing that perv he probably lured her off somewhere for a little one on one… if you know what I mean.” Sesshomaru shrugged like it was that obvious.

 

“Nah… Sango wouldn't let that happen.”

 

Inuyasha arrived and without a word to anyone hopped into his branch. Rin and Ayame rolled their eyes at him and Sesshomaru just shrugged.

 

“Boys…”

The sun had completely gone down and only the full moon and stars provided the bright light they used to see.

 

“We should get back before Inuyasha and Sesshomaru decide to find us.” Miroku suggested. They got out of the water and Miroku looked at her naked body up and down smiling at her perfection. She put on her clothes and noticed him staring.

 

“You can get what ever thought was just in your head out right now.” Sango eyed him suspiciously, “let's get going.”

 

He sighed happily, “Coming.”

 

With only the moonlight to guide them they had a bit of trouble getting to camp but eventually they found their way and the brightly lit camp fire assured they were heading towards the right spot.

 

“Hey guys what's up?” Sango asked as she approached the fire.

 

Sesshomaru and Rin where cuddled next to each other. Inuyasha sat alone and Ayame sat alone as well as they ate.

 

“Sango! where have you two been?” Ayame gave a questioning glare.

 

“Around… where's Kagome?”

 

Everyone seemed to miss Inuyasha's nervous shift at the sound of her name. Sango looked into the cabin and saw she was still in the same position as before when they left earlier except this time she was sleeping. She instantly threw a glare at Inuyasha.

 

“What did you do to her?”

 

“Me?” he contrived to look bewildered, “why does it have to be me who's done something?” his eyebrows drew closer to a frown.

 

“Gee, I dunno… because ever since we got here you've been the one to make her mad.” Sango rolled her eyes at him like he was that stupid.

 

“Look wench… I don't know what's gotten into her… and I don't quite recall ever caring.” He got up to leave and Miroku followed him.

 

“ARGH!!! JERK… IF YOU HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS… I'LL RUIN YOUR PRETTY LITTLE FACE!!!”

 

Rin got up to relax her, “calm down Sango, he's gone.”

 

“You guys should just ask her what's got her so down.” Sesshomaru added, “Although I wouldn't doubt that my dimwitted brother had something to do with it.”

 

“But what's wrong with him though? If he's crushing on her he's got a really fucked up way of showing it.” Sango just couldn't understand him, “he's such a fucking idiot.”

 

“That's Inuyasha alright… no one can really guess what he's thinking.” Sesshomaru shrugged.

 

“Maybe you can talk to him fluffy?” Sesshomaru shifted uncomfortably, “oh come on… pretty please for me?”

 

He sighed, “The things I do for you Rin.” She gave him a big hug and he took off after Inuyasha.

 

“Should we wake her up…? I mean she missed dinner. Oh by the way… Serena brought some packaged food for us to eat. I kept yours and Miroku's over there.”

 

“Thanks…” Sango gave a small smile, “let's let her sleep… one thing I know about Kagome is she won't say anything to anyone unless it really bothers her.” the girl's sighed and laid down in the cabin awaiting the boy's return.

“Inuyasha wait up…” Miroku hissed desperately trying to catch up to the half demon. Inuyasha removed his earring and his speed increased. “What your problem Inuyasha? Don't wanna talk about it `cause you really did have something to do with it?” he inquired stopping Inuyasha in his tracks. The demon turned around and his brightly shining golden orbs were filled with remorse.

 

“Fuck off Miroku…” was all he said before sitting down next to a tree. Miroku felt a little sorry for him.

 

“No… and I know you had something to do with the state Kagome's in otherwise you wouldn't be feeling this guilty.” He sat next to him by the tree.

 

“You know what… it's really none of your business.” Inuyasha folded his arms across his chest.

 

Miroku sighed at his idiocy and shook his head. “It's a shame… she's so fucking hot, too bad you couldn't get to her.” He stood up and started walking away. “hey… since you couldn't do her I guess I can have her then right?” a flash of white whizzed by his eyes as in less than a second Inuyasha had him up in the air by the throat.

 

“Don't you dare touch her you fucking pervert.” He growled loud, baring his fangs at him. Miroku's legs began to kick.

 

“mmfh arhhh… can't… ughh.. breathe…” Miroku choked out and Inuyasha let him go. Miroku took a deep intake of breath eyeing Inuyasha with a smirk.

 

“If you can do that just because of what I said… then I'm afraid you're in way too deep my friend.”

 

“What's that supposed to mean?” Inuyasha glared at him.

 

“It means idiot… that you must really like her to get all possessive about her like that.” Sesshomaru came from out of nowhere. His eyes shone as bright as Inuyasha's as he had removed his earring also.

 

“I don't like that wench.” Inuyasha glared at him with crossed arms. Sesshomaru just rolled his eyes. What a difficult little bitch.

 

“Do you hear your self Inuyasha?” Miroku asked after regaining himself, “You just nearly killed me because I implied I'd screw her.”

 

“I really don't see why you're being a bitch about this,” Sesshomaru glared at him, “I know you like her, he knows you like her, the girls know you like her… the only one clueless to the fact that you like her is you… and possibly Kagome with the way you talk to her.”

 

“Can you all just get off my back?” Inuyasha hissed angrily. “I don't recall ever saying I was interested in that wench…”

 

“Then I guess I'll have her then, or better yet Kouga can have her… he did ask me if she was seeing somebody and since she's not I guess she's up for grabs.” Miroku said trying to get a reaction out of him.

 

A low growl emitted from Inuyasha's chest.

 

“Yeah… they do look cute together, they'd make really cute half wolf and half human babies don't you think?” Sesshomaru took it a little further.

 

Now his growling was louder and his body had tensed up. Miroku and Sesshomaru smirked at each other seeing as their plan was working.

 

“There's no way I'll let Kagome end up with someone like Kouga.”

 

“It's really not for you to say… the way I see it, she can be with who ever the hell she wants to be with.” Sesshomaru brushed passed him then stopped.

 

“If you really feel this way about her… then I suggest you do something before its too late.”

 

Inuyasha calmed down and his shoulders' slumped in a deep sigh, “But what if she doesn't want me?”

 

“Can't really blame her, the way you've been treating her.” Miroku placed a hand on his shoulder.

 

“This is hopeless… Inuyasha could never get Kagome even if he tried to so why bother?” Sesshomaru said starting to get tired of the conversation.

 

“Shut the fuck up Fluffy” he spat out the last word with distaste.

 

Sesshomaru glared at him with cold eyes, “you've only got so many chances to make the right choices, if you want her then you know what you have to do…” he turned on his heel and started heading back to camp.

 

“You know he's right…” Miroku patted Inuyasha's shoulder and followed Sesshomaru.

 

Inuyasha stood there letting the words that Sesshomaru had said sink into his head. Part of him knew to follow his advice, but the other part of him was scared that she'll reject him like she did earlier. His heart sunk when she had left him alone in the woods. He hadn't wanted to kiss her, but then when he looked into her beautiful warm eyes, and her glistening pink lips how could he not? He certainly has gotten himself into quite a predicament. It's times like this he wish he were still eight years old when he used to think girls were gross and had cooties. Even then he had trouble getting along with girls. He had gotten a crush on this girl in his class and every day he'd play a joke on her that ended in her crying and him feeling really sad. The best thing for him to do now is to avoid Kagome and pretend none of this ever happened.

 

`Yeah… that's what I'll do; I'll just never talk to her again. I mean… how long is this summer camp gonna last right?' Inuyasha strode through the woods finally come to a solid solution… Ignore the problem and it'll go away.

“I wonder what time it is right now…” Rin wondered bored. There wasn't much to do in the forest, it was dark, there were bugs and they could here the sounds of many different animals, some of them recognizable others not so much, but most especially no body was saying anything.

 

“I don't know…” was all she got from Sango.

 

Rin sighed; “you guys are really making me miss fluffy…” she pouted and hugged herself tightly trying to avoid the bugs from biting her.

 

“I'm sorry Rin but…” Sango trailed off to look at Kagome who had her eyes open but hadn't said a word to anyone. She was scared for her. Kagome is too naive and trusting. She just doesn't want her to keep getting hurt.

 

“HEY! I got an idea.” Sango and Ayame snapped their heads to Rin, “let's play a game.” their faces fell and they turned back to whatever it was they were doing. “Oh come on guys it's so boring… I'd be sleeping right now if the bugs weren't using my body for a late night snack.”

 

“It's late and I'm sleepy, a game isn't a good idea.” Ayame yawned and batted her lashes drowsily. “Go to bed.”

 

“Aww you guys are no fun… I wish Fluffy was here.”

 

“Your wish is my command.” Sesshomaru stepped out of the woods into sight where the girls could see him, Miroku right behind him. But where was Inuyasha?

 

“You're back.” Rin shouted happily.

 

Sango watched for Inuyasha to appear but he didn't. She got up and walked Sesshomaru out of Kagome's earshot.

 

“We said talk to him… not kill him Sesshomaru.” She hissed.

 

“He's on his way, and he definitely does like her. He's just being stubborn about it.”

 

“So then we have to make him realize that she can't wait for him to get his act together.” Rin suggested.

 

“How do you suppose we do that?” Sango looked confused.

 

“Simple… ENVY” Rin smiled. “When he sees Kagome flirting with another guy he'll get jealous and try to win Kagome back.”

 

“But who...” Sango placed a finger on her chin in thought, “who would Inuyasha absolutely hate losing to.”

 

“That's simple… Kouga of course,” Miroku joined in the conversation. “If kouga and Kagome start getting closer together… it'll definitely piss Inuyasha off since it's obvious that he likes her.”

 

“Then it's settled, we'll ask Kouga to flirt with Kagome and see how Inuyasha deals with it.” Sango smirked, “I won't let Kagome get hurt again.”

 

They smiled to one another in understanding and headed into the tent. Sango and Miroku lay with Kagome on the top bunk above a sleeping Ayame, Rin and Sesshomaru.

 

“Goodnight guys…” Rin yawned.

 

“night.” They all replied in unison, except for Miroku who caught Rin's contagious yawn.

 

“Good night Kagome…” Sango said expecting Kagome's reply but none came. She sighed sadly and closed her eyes.

 

Soon everyone drifted off to sleep except Kagome who had her eyes open the whole time. She was about to get up but she quickly laid back down at the sound of footsteps. It was Inuyasha. She turned to face him pretending to be asleep. His golden orbs shone brightly in the dark and he had his two fury ears atop his head, meaning he didn't put his earring on. Kagome wanted to get up, not caring whether he saw her or not but… a part of her wanted to know what he would do. She closed her eyes tightly as he walked closer to the tent. He stepped in and leaned over Kagome. Her heart began to race at the mere thought of his form over hers. She felt his lips on her head and his fingers stroke her cheeks gently. She fought desperately to hold back the urge to hug him tightly.

 

“I'm so sorry…” she heard him say. “It won't happen again… I promise.” He walked away and hopped on the tree branch.

 

She couldn't take it anymore. “Inuyasha…” but her voice could not be heard. How come she felt so bad when everything happening is entirely his fault? He's the jerk who insults her everyday; he's the one always making her feel stupid and fragile. He's the one that laughs at every embarrassing thing that happens to her. He's the one that nearly gives her a heart attack when ever she's alone. Yet… he's the one that sends shivers running through her spine whenever they're alone. He's the one that creates the butterflies in her stomach at the mere touch of his skin on hers. Her heart skips a beat when his next to her. And when he kissed her… the passion and desire she felt made her lose control of herself. She felt as though he was the one that she needed to protect her. How can somebody be so right for you and at the same time is so wrong for you? She bit back tears. Her relationship with guys hadn't been very good ones so what would make this one any different? Besides, Inuyasha already has someone… kikyo.

 

`Maybe that's why he was mad? Because I kissed him and he had a girlfriend?' She thought `but then that wouldn't make any sense… why would he kiss me in the woods?'

 

`Because you look like her and he thought he was kissing Kikyo.'

 

A cold chill ran through her body, the awful thought of Inuyasha seeing her as Kikyo was unbearable.

 

`of course… that's the only reason he would kiss you. I mean lets be serious here… if he hates you so much, why would he want to kiss you?'

 

`but there's a chance that he really does like me… the way he looked at me with his golden orbs after saving me from that bear…' Kagome argued with her self. `Maybe the best thing to do is to let what happens, happen. I'll leave him alone and do my business. I don't want to get hurt again. It hurts too much.' she yawned and let sleep take her.

“I love you…” Kagome whispered into her lover's ear as they laid in each others arms under a beautiful full moon in a ravine. He had his hands wrapped around her waist and her head was cuddled in between the cook of his neck. He breathed in her scent and Kagome giggled as he tickled her ears with his hot breathe.

 

“I love you too Kagome…” he kissed her head and she smiled deeply. Who knew she could find someone as sweet as him. He was perfect; he's always been there for her for as long as she could remember. He'd promised never to leave her and swore to always protect her. Then why couldn't she remember his name?

 

`Who are you kagome wanted to ask but then she might ruin the moment. so she decided to stay with the one she loved even though she had no clue who it was… at least she knew she was safe. She closed her eyes to sleep when suddenly someone grabbed around her neck tightly.

 

“Mmphmomif” she kicked but the person wouldn't let go. The person had a strong grip on her neck and wasn't holding back.

 

“If I ever see you with anyone again… I'll kill you.” he whispered harshly into her ears pulling her closer together and tossed a body into Kagome's view. The face that had once been dark to her suddenly became clear. It was Inuyasha… his silver locks painted with blood that sipped from his head. his golden eyes, dulled from his life slowly leaving him.

 

“No…” Kagome couldn't believe it, “no… Inuyasha...”

 

“That's what happens when you stray away from me Kagome.” He flung her by her hair towards Inuyasha's dieing body and Kagome slowly raised her head to look at their attacker with some fuzzy spots here and there.

 

She saw herself… and… Naraku.

 

Her eyes snapped open in her seat and she got up so fast she knocked her head against the roof of the tent.

 

“Oww…” she rubbed her head and removed swung her legs over the bed. She looked around and breathed a sigh of relief realizing that it was all just a really awful nightmare. But what type of dream was that… and ew… I was with Inuyasha? She looked up at the tree branch and smiled. Her dream popped back into her head and she frowned.

 

What did it all mean?

 

She noticed it was the brink of dawn and decided it was all just a dream. She figured she was just a little too sour last night and that must have been the reason for such an awkward nightmare. And besides… she's never going to see Naraku ever again anyway. She decided to take a morning wash before the rest of the group woke up and dropped down from the top bed careful not to hit anyone. She accidentally slipped and landed on her bum on the floor with a thud.

 

“Great… now I really do need a wash.” She pouted getting up. She trotted towards the beach patting her bum. If she went skinny dipping no body would know right?

 

Inuyasha watched her leaving the camp towards the beach. She had woken him up when she fell and he was down right ready to yell too when he noticed it was Kagome.

 

`Now where is she sneaking off to so early in the morning?' he hopped onto a tree closer to where she was and watched as she made her way towards the water. `She's crazy… the water must be freezing cold.'

 

Kagome's back was to him as she stepped into the water. He noticed her shiver when her leg touched the water and thought she'd chicken out and come back. His eyes widened when she took off her bikini bottom and removed the top placing it swiftly on the sand where the water wouldn't reach it.

 

She ran into the water full speed until the water was slightly below her chest. Inuyasha blushed a deep red when she turned around and faced the camp.

 

`Oh shit… those are double D knockers.' He nearly fell out of the tree. He watched her bath and scrub herself with her bare hands. `Damn… she's hot.' She had nice creamy colored skin, sexy curves and the most fit abs he'd ever seen. How he hadn't noticed before is beyond him but he knew he'd been missing out.

 

“What are you doing?”

 

“Shit…” Inuyasha slipped at the sudden noise and fell off the tree landing on his back. He opened his eyes to find Miroku giving him a wide grin.

 

He got up quickly, “look it's not what it looks like I swear… she… I was taking a walk and I thought I heard something and… I was definitely not peeking at that wench.” He blurted out and Miroku continued to smile.

 

“Look you pervert… I'm nothing like you.” Inuyasha said sternly trying to put up a front.

 

“You're definitely not like me… I mean… I've thought of peeking before but I've never actually done it. You're a bigger pervert than me.” Miroku smirked.

 

“I don't believe this…” Inuyasha puffed, and decided to flee the scene of the crime brushing passed a widely grinning Miroku.

 

“You know I never knew you were this sly… I mean… come on your face was lit up as you watched her.” Miroku followed behind him. “I don't blame you though… I mean damn she's hot.”

 

Inuyasha stopped walking and turned around glaring at Miroku. Miroku rose up his hand in defense, “I'm a guy too aren't I? And besides, Sango's the only girl I see.”

 

“Is that so?” he arched a brow. “She actually was able to look pass the fact that you're a perv who's never stayed with a girlfriend for over one month?”

 

Miroku glared at him…

 

“Oh I forgot you never told her… you just let it happen.” Inuyasha crossed his arms returning the glare. “I bet you wouldn't be able to stay with her for the rest of the summer without your hormones for another girl getting in the way.” He turned around and started walking again.

 

“I can too… at least I was able to get the girl I wanted.” Miroku retorted.

 

“What's that supposed to mean?” Inuyasha stopped again to face him.

 

“Yeah… you can't even admit to liking Kagome when it's so obvious to everyone that you do. I bet you couldn't get her to fall for you as much as you've fallen for her by the end of the summer.” a smirk graced Miroku's face as he stuck out his hand.

 

“What makes you think I want her to fall for me anyway…?” Miroku put up his finger in protest.

 

“If you don't agree to this bet… I'll tell everyone including Kagome that I caught you peeping at her while she bathed.”

 

Inuyasha scowled at him and stuck out his hand. “I don't like that wench but… by the end of the summer, she's gonna be all over me like worm on very seductive manure.”

 

“Loser has to pay for a very expensive date.”

 

“Deal.” They shook hands and Miroku smiled slyly.

They both smirked at each other thinking “you're so going down.”

 

They had already arrived at camp by the end of their conversation. They both sat together next to the dieing fire as the sun slowly rose.

Kagome put on her bathing suit and decided to head back. She walked to the cabin to find Inuyasha and Miroku sitting together by the fire.

 

“Hey Kagome… feeling better?” Miroku greeted upon seeing her. She smiled warmly at him.

 

“Yeah… just went for a short swim.” Her hair had gotten wavy and was placed over one shoulder to her front. It dripped water down her chest into her bikini making it wet. She was slightly gleaming in the sun's rays as she stood. She took a look at Inuyasha staring at her and blushed quickly looking away from him. She missed the big smirk on Miroku's face and the deep red blush in Inuyasha's as he also looked away rather quickly from her.

 

“Good luck with your bet… cause…you're gonna need it.” Miroku whispered to him so that Kagome wouldn't hear.

 

`Smooth move genius… now look what you've gotten yourself into.' Inuyasha thought as he took another glance at Kagome entering the tent. `it's going to be a long summer.'
