Chapter 21: Sadness

At Koenma Office~~~~~~~~~

"What cha wan Toddler?"

"Yusuke! Show some respect!"

"Never mind, Botan."

"Are you SICK?" taking a hand to feel his forehead.

"Sick? NO! I AM OKAY! EXCEPT THE FACT that the spear is half way unsealed. If it comes unsealed, we are doomed!"

"It's a pure object. What harm can it do?"

"BIG HARMFUL THINGS!"

"WHAT!" Yusuke, Hiei and Botan exclaimed back.

Koenma placed his head in his hands. Feeling headache acting up.

"If the evil is enough to influence it, the spear will turn into a dark object. Correct usage of that spear, with only one wave. Hundreds will die, their souls will abandon their bodies."

"That serious!"

"WHAT DO YOU THINK?"

"So WHAT can we do?"

"You got Kimiko right? Maybe she can do something about It." raising hopeful eyes at them. They sweat dropped and promised to get her here.

"Hn, if she doesn't escape that is."

"What do you mean?"

"Hiei is right, she is always giving us the slip."

"Why?"

"To play."

"Tempt her here then."

At the border of the western lands~~~~~~~~~~~

Poisonous wasp in the air. A man wearing a baboon suit, standing beside him was a lady with a feather and a girl with a mirror. They were looking at a figure cladded in black.

"My master has a proposal for you." A raspy voice spoke.

"Why would I want to accept it?" the man in white baboon suit said.

"Because you will find the reward to your most liking."

"How so?"

"Your desire to be a full youkai will be fulfilled."

"It is rather tempting."

"Yes, indeed. My master wishes to have good relationships with his helpers."

"I want the shikon no tama as well."

"Then considered it done."

*Sinister laughter *

At the western castle~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kurama POV

I woke up to find that Kimiko had again given mi the slip. I inhaled the air, but I could not find her scent. Might as well start looking for her. She blocked the mind link.

`Hiei? You there?'

@ HN? @

`Where are you?'

@At the warehouse where they hid the spear. @

`Kimiko's gone again.'

@Hn. Find her. @

`Suggestions?'

`Good idea.'

I left to find Sesshoumaru. True enough, Kimiko was there, and she din't look too happy. I wonder why. Oh I see. Sesshoumaru had his tail wrapped around her waist. She relaxed her pout when she saw mi.

"Can YOU let go of mi now?"

Sesshoumaru looked at mi before letting go of his grip. He seemed reluctant to do so.

"Kurama!" flanking herself into mi.

"Yeah?"

"I am bored."

"Find something to read then."

"What is there to read?"

"You can use the library."

"That's so kind of you!"

"I rather you stay in one room than to walk around."

"What does that means?" pouting at him.

Sesshoumaru led the way to the library.

"Something fishy is going on." Kimiko stopped in her steps and said.

"You are being paranoid."

"I am not being paranoid, I am always right about these things."

"What's going to happen in a library?"

"This is going to happen. I knew it was too good to be true for HIM to invite us to his library."

Glaring at the lords and ladies assembled at the library.

"AND the worst of ALL things. YOU people HAVE TO invite HER!" an annoyed tick appeared on her eyebrow. I tried to calm her down, she managed to relax but was still annoyed that she is here. I wonder why.

"Hn, because she is annoying to the bone." I turned to see Hiei at the doorway with Yusuke, Botan and Kuwabara.

"Hiei! You are back." Changing partners and latching on Hiei.

"Hn."

"I am not annoying!"

"Yeah, and the sky will drop my dear SORA!"

"That was mean…." She started to brawl. I am starting to get Hiei's point.

"At least I talk, until someone."

"You know each other?" Raiha asked questioningly.

"Unfortunately for mi."

"Luckily for mi."

"WHAT!" both of them chorused and glared at each other.

"Why do you torture mi thee." Kimiko asked no one in particular.

"Wait, I dun understand, how do you know each other. And how come you can talk to her like that."

Collapsing into a chair.

"One, I know her since I was bornt. Two, I can talk to her like that because I am her superior. And three, she is my retainer."

"She is your…. retainer…. but that would make you the…princess…" Raiha stuttered out.

"You hit the jackpot. Where else do you think I get the attitude of not caring whatever I do from?"

"So what if she is the princess?" Ken snorted.

"Princess and next heir of Moon Crystal Kingdom, also the god daughter of Father god. Deemed to be the most powerful one other than the other two. One, who is Yume, The prince and next heir to the Shadow Kingdom. Also a godchild of Father god. Supposedly to be the mate of Kimiko. The last one is someone from Ice Spirit. Also a god child of Father god." Yusuke supplied.

"Father god with permission from the other gods and goddesses adopted them into the family so that they will not attack them." Kurama said

"If they did, the realm of God will be destroyed." Hiei said.

"The whole realm was punished for a crime committed be two person. The verdict passed was truly unfair, that now they fear the magic casters will take revenge against them, the gods." Botan said.

" They ordered people to kill those from the royal families because they are a bigger threat than the others. They are seen as leaders which will lead the others to revenge seeking." Kurama stated.

The reikai tentai gave the information that they know to the others in the library. The shikon group and the lords and ladies were staring wild-eyed at them. Kimiko and Sora seemed to be in awe.

"How did you come by so many information?" Kimiko stated with amusement.

"Koenma told us."

"Oh ya, he wants to see you. ASAP."

"She doesn't have the mark." Ken replied, refusing to believe that she is the princess.

"Indeed, where is your mark?"

"What is so great about that mark?" replied Kimiko rather borily.

"KIMIKO! HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT! THE MARK REPRESENT THAT YOU ARE A MEMBER OF THE ROYAL FAMILIES. SHOWS THAT YOU ARE…"

"Okay! Okay! SORRY for asking!" throwing a thick book on her face, successfully shutting her up.

She glowed and placed both palms on her face. She swept her hands over her face like unveiling a veil. Her mark appeared. It was a crescent moon. The sakura mark disappeared. Her hair returned to her own color. She looked just like the one in the photo that the spirit detectives first saw.

"Happy now?"

The guys who haven seen her transformation before was staring entranced at her.

"Get your head out of that gutter!" she screamed at them after reading their thoughts.

"You are telepathic?" Renee asked.

"Ya. So watch what you are thinking."

Raiha and Toki just grinned sheepishly at her. Ken was staring at her, she stared back. Sesshoumaru was unreadable. But you could see the faint tint of pink on his cheeks.

"Iamsogladthatyouchangedback. Youlookbetterthisway.andiamwayusedtolookingatyouinthismanner." she kept blabbing on and on, on and on.

"SHUT YOUR MOUTH!" Kimiko started to get violent. Throwing every book she can get her hands on at Sora. Hiei and Kurama tried to held her down before she hurt herself.

"I swear, if you are not my retainer. You will already be dead!" taking deep breathes to calm herself down.

"I know. That's why I am glad to be your retainer. You can't kill mi. And besides I am the only one who can agitates you that much."

"I think I will burst a vessel."

"SORA!!!!" lashing out at her.

"Hmm? Oh I did it again, din't I. Well iamsosorry,ididnotmeantodoit.iwasjustbeingcarriedaway." clamping a hand around her to stop are incessant chatter.

"Peace is beautiful."

"Humph…humph!"

"I like you better when you are quiet." Placing a heavy dose of sleeping spell on her. She collapsed to the floor asleep.

"You think this is a joke. Asking her to be here?"

"I never knew she could talk that much." Raiha said, shaking his head at the sleeping figure.

"Hn, why dun you just kill her?"

"I can't, she is bound to mi. I cannot kill her. Which I most likely wish to."

"So what do you want with mi?"

"You din't really ask mi to read a book, right?"

"Obviously."

"So what is it?"

"Well, you see. We got this book about your Realm, and we very much want to know what is it like there." Kirin said.

"What is it like?"

"Hn! It's the most horrible place in the world. Never wish to be bornt and rise there. Might as well be a ningen. Better to be one of them there!" Kimiko said heatedly.

"You dun like it there?" a confused Raiha asked.

"I heard, it was supposed to be a dream place?"

"Hn. Maybe. Judge for yourself."

"So you willing to take us there?"

"…. That is if I want to go back."

"You dun want to go back?"

"No. Hate that place with a passion."

"How can you say that, it's your homeland. You were bornt there." Sora broke the spell and woke up.

"Because I can and I hate that stupid place. I wish that I was NEVER bornt THERE!" she left the room, slamming the door behind her.

"I will go calm her down." Kurama volunteered, and went after her.

"Feh! What's her problem?"

"Hn, if you know part of her story. You will know never to speak of that place in front of her."

"What do you know!"?

"He's right! That was mommy's saddest point. And *sob * you just have to remind her of it. * Sob *"

*Brawling *

He latched onto Hiei's shoulder to go find his mommy.

The rest of the people looked at each other, mixed with regrets and confusions.

"After so long, you still can't let it go?" whispered Sora solemnly. The youkais heard it, but decided not to ask her about what she meant.

Kurama POV

"Kimiko…. they din't know."

"Sora knows." Pulling her into my lap. I rested my chin on her head. Rocking back and forth, as she lessened her crying. She hugged my waist and buried herself into my chest. I changed into Youko, wrapping my tails around her.

Hiei POV

I arrived to see Kurama changing into Youko. I allowed Shippo to the ground. Youko looked up to see mi. He passed Kimiko to mi, but kept his tails wrapped around her.

"Kimiko?"

"Hmm?" choking back a sob. Stroking Youko's tails. All was silence before Youko….

"Ahhhh!" grabbing hold of his tails and soothing it with his tongue. Glaring at Kimiko with narrowed golden eyes. Kimiko escaped his glare by burying herself into my chest. Giggling into my chest.

One moment she was sad and the next she was being playful. We were enjoying the comfort among ourselves when she suddenly bit Youko's tails. She snuggled into mi to avoid his glare.

I snickered. Youko glared at mi. I smirked back at him. Earning a growl from him.

"Ssshhh…. she fallen asleep." the fox immediately stopped his growling, leaning to brush a piece of hair out of her eyes.

"She's still weak from the injuries." Standing up to carry Kimiko back to her room.

"Hn."

Back at the library~~~~~~~~~

"Ne, Sora…. why doesn't she likes her homeland?"

"Maybe if she is born into a normal family there, she may love to live there."

"But she isn't…."

"That's right…. she was bornt into the royal families. And destined to live a different life compared to the other royalties. True be told, all the heirs of the ruling kingdom went through a very different childhood than the others…" her voice was getting softer and softer.

"What so you mean? Lady Sora?"

"Well you see, most or should I say all the other royalties lived a carefree and happy childhood."

"Feh, you said she was the most powerful one, what is there to complain?"

"Power is not everything." Hitting him with his staff.

"That's right, power is not everything. During the process of gaining more power, Kimiko paid a great price…. she lost the…"

"What did she lose?"

"She lost the power to trust again, her father betrayed her trust and her mother was also killed by her own hands."

"She killed her own mother."

"NO! It was an accident, a horrible accident made to happen by her father. She lost control of her powers and injured her mother. She would not have died if treated immediately, but her father left her there to die."

"That is horrible!"

"You think that is horrible? There is more than this."

"She is not the only one. Yume and Umi, both of them have their own stories. All of them have scars on their heart and soul."

"Think twice about it. Just because they have the most power, you deem them to be happier than the others. But once you know the story behind them, do you envy them or do you sympathize them?"
