InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ True Love ❯ Miroku's Confession ( Chapter 12 )
As Inuyasha was rushing towards Kade's village he pray to any god that would listen to let his Kagome be ok. As he looked at the ashen teenager in his arms he wondered to himself how he could have let her go. He was very relieved that she had come back, but was saddened that she came back in so much pain. As they neared the village he thought of how he could have lived with himself if he had not seen Kagome again. How could he live knowing he never told Kagome that he loved her? He knew he couldn't have and was yet again thankful she had returned. His relief grew when he saw small huts all huddled on the upcoming horizon. Inuyasha wove in between the huts aiming for the one closest to the outskirts of town. Inuyasha was going so fast he did not notice Sango standing in the doorway of a near by tavern and rushed on by. Sango, curious to see what had Inuyasha in such a rush, stepped outside of the tavern to look at the retreating back of the half-demon. Just before he was out of her line of sight Sango could have sworn she had saw a flash of rave black amidst the red and silver.
`It's Kagome! She's returned to us! I must find Miroku! Now, where did that perverted monk get off to now?' As Sango thought of all of this she began running among the buildings glancing inside to see if she could catch a glance of the one she was seeking. When she ran past a very rundown shack she thought she saw a flash of black and purple. Sango slowed to a walk and turn to return to the shack. When she neared she heard the voice of a young woman. Sango then remember this was the house of a very beautiful, very young woman who had no husband to speak for her. Sango grew very angry thinking of what the monk would try and stormed the rest of the way to the shack. When she reached the doorway she wrenched back the cloth covering the opening and look inside. What she saw shocked her. Miroku was not trying anything on the young woman but was bent over a child looking in the eyes then in the mouth.
"It seems your child is not possessed but merely a heavy sleeper who seems to have a bad habit of wandering in her sleep. I would say… Ah Sango how nice of you to join us. Now as I was saying I would say give her strong green tea mixed with parsley and cinnamon. That should stop her from wandering as she slumbers. Well it seems my work here is done come Sango we shall go and collect the herbs Lady Kade asked us to collect before the sun sank from the sky. Good-bye m'lady and I wish you the best of luck."
"Thank you so much! You are a very kind monk and I shall pray every night that you become a priest!" sang the woman as she cried tears of joy over her child. Miroku started out the door and as he passed Sango he gently grasped he by the arm and lead her out. Once outside Miroku turned to Sango with accusing eyes.
"Lady Sango, may I ask why you came charging into that house?" asked Miroku with anger flashing in his eyes. Sango was confused back by his anger. When she looked closer she noticed his anger was also laced with hurt.
"Well you see I thought you might have…" Sango trailed off trying to think of how to explain what she wanted him to know without hurting or angering him more.
"You thought that this woman had agreed to bear my child?" asked Miroku his anger quickly fading and turning into amusement. Sango started to blush a crimson shade as she mulled over what Miroku said. She was very confused by the conclusion she came to. Quickly she tried to hide her blush from Miroku but it was too late. As she tried to turn away from his he grasped her arm and spun her towards him. "Did you?" he asked again.
"Well…yes…I did and I really didn't want you to because then you would have to leave the group to care for your child and…I don't want you too leave!" Sango finished very quickly and slipped her arm out of his grasp and began to walk away. Before she had gotten too far Miroku slipped an arm around her waist and pulled her around to face him. He gently brushed a stray hair from her beautiful porcelain face.
"Beautiful, smart, but very silly Sango, I thought that you would have found this out by now, But I guess not," Miroku looked very deeply into Sango's eyes a e finished his sentence, "I love you Sango and I wish for you to be the one who bears my child. I wish to be with you. I want you to know my past, stay with me in the present, and be my future." When Miroku said future Sango suddenly remembered why she had been seeking the monk.
"Miroku, Kagome's back! I saw Inuyasha carrying her to Kade's hut. Something must be wrong because she did not have her bag and she was not on Inuyasha's back, but in his arms. Come on we have to see what has happened." When she finished she grabbed Miroku's arm and started dragging him to the hut.
