“Hey Kago…” Inuyasha growled lightly in her ear as he caught her around the waist. “I win…”

 

Kagome growled as she glared back at him. This had been going on for a year now, and in all that time she had won once. “This is unfair!” Kagome whined at him. “Even if I now have some kind of speed and a way to mask my sent, you still find me!”

 

“You almost made it…” Inuyasha purred evilly in her ear, his clawed fingers running along the skin of her stomach, she had tied up her shirt seeing as it had been extremely hot. “You made it to the end of the forest.”

 

Kagome could feel his skin burning on hers, and not just because he had left his shirt back at the hut, but because his touch was like fire to her, like when you really like someone and they just keep right out of your reach. Kagome muttered under her breath about not winning and stubborn demons that needed to learn about personal space.

 

Inuyasha grinned against Kagome's neck and nipped at her playfully. He had succeeded in making her needy for his touch. When they relaxed after exercising Kagome usually moved closer to him and cuddled up beside him so he'd wrap his arm around her. Inuyasha liked how she reacted to him, but he knew that she was nervous because she didn't understand why she acted the way she did.

 

“Inuyasha…” Kagome murmured as leaned back into him.

 

“Hmm?” Inuyasha growled contently as he licked her neck.

 

“I need to get going…”

 

“Where? We just got back from your era.” Inuyasha questioned not moving his lips from her neck.

 

“I promised Kaede I'd train today…” Kagome said reaching back and rubbing one of his ears. “Right after I finished “playing” with you.”

 

Inuyasha let out a displeased growl but let her go none the less, his red eyes darkening with want as he watched her start to walk away from him.

 

“You coming?” Kagome asked as she looked back over her shoulder at him.

 

Inuyasha nodded and jumped up to her side and then continued to walk with her. Anyone could tell they desperately wanted each other just by looking them in the eye. Inuyasha's were a more pronounced red deepening into the color of a puddle of blood, and Kagome's would be glazed over with the same need.

 

Shippo had one night said to Miroku and Sango, who agreed with him, that they should just hurry it up and become mates. Sango had told them about when Kagome had let it slip to her that she had said to Inuyasha that she wanted to be his mate, and added in that they were made for each other but they were too blind to see it. Not long after the conversations start did Inuyasha come in, a warning growl telling them to shut up about it before Kagome got back.

 

“Kaede I'm here.” Kagome called out when she entered the older woman's hut.

 

“Ok then child, off we go.” Kaede said as she led Kagome back outside into the heat, not that the hut was much better. “You joining us Inuyasha?” Kaede questioned the demon that was sitting on her hut.

 

“Maybe later, with my luck you'd be practicing fire spells or something like that.” Inuyasha said falling back into a laying position. “I'm hot enough already,” Inuyasha propped himself up and winked at Kagome before adding, “Don't you think Kago?”

 

“Quiet.” Kagome mutter to him shaking her fist. “I'll make you another collar it you don't watch it!”

 

Inuyasha let out a snort as he jumped down so he was standing in font of her saying, “You wouldn't dare.”

 

“Just try me Inuyasha, just try me.” Kagome warned as she followed after Kaede choosing to ignore the persistent demon.

 

“We're going to be working on your concentration which seems to be lacking lately.” Kaede said as she led the two hotheaded lovers out to the field.

 

“It's not my fault!” Kagome whined as she broke away from a glaring contest she was having with Inuyasha. “Inuyasha's loud and arrogant and-“

 

“You can't take your eyes off me.” Inuyasha cut in.

 

“I was going to say you were also an a-“

 

“Both of you be quiet!” Kaede cut Kagome off. “Now seeing as Inuyasha, the best distraction I could ask for is here we'll be going about this differently then I had planed.”

 

“Is that supposed to be an insult or a compliment?” Inuyasha questioned as he eyed Kaede as she pulled out a cloth from the quiver that was holding her arrows.

 

“In this instance a compliment.” Kaede said handing Kagome the cloth. “Now Kagome tie that to cover your eyes when I'm done explaining. Kagome I'm going to be shooting at you with these arrows…Inuyasha we'll never get anywhere if you never let me finish…as I was saying these arrows that have cloth bundled on the end instead of a point, I'll keep track of how many hit you. Now Inuyasha is going to be the distraction, he can talk, rant, he could poke you repetitively for all I care he's just going to do something, you're to catch, or dodge the arrows.”

 

“Any arrow's I catch can I hit Inuyasha with?” Kagome questioned as she grinned at Inuyasha who had started to poke her after Kaede gave him the idea.”

 

“No!” Inuyasha said glaring at her.

 

“Go for it.” Kaede said as she walked off a little ways. “Now tie that around your head and let's start.”

“Ow…” Kagome and Inuyasha whined as they sat down.

 

“Why'd you have to go and shoot me too?” Inuyasha whined as he glared at Kaede. “It wasn't my training session.”

 

“I didn't deserve that last arrow you said we were done!” Kagome complained as she rubbed her stomach, where the arrow had hit full force. “I blocked all but five of the others…”

 

“I only shot ten, not counting those last two that I shot you two with while you were bickering about the lesson.” Kaede said as she regarded the two of them like children. “Half is by no means passing a session Kagome.”

 

“Kami no, it's school all over again!” Kagome whined. “Don't make me relive that!”

 

“At least this school is where I can get to you. That other one was dangerous, and out of the way.” Inuyasha said crossing his arms over his chest.

 

“My school didn't have things flying at me!” Kagome insisted.

 

“Yes it did!” Inuyasha yelled at her.

 

“That was a volleyball! It was a game!” Kagome yelled back at him.

 

“I still have two arrows here…” Kaede warned them. When they both shut up and looked at her she went on, “Inuyasha if you could quickly go retrieve the arrows that didn't hit Kagome that would be great. Kagome go get the ones that did hit you.”

 

The two grumbled about it, but still did as the older woman said. Once they were standing in front of her, she looked at each of them for a moment trying to decide what to do with them.

 

“I really don't know what to do with you two. You can't work without Inuyasha here, and you can't seem to do anything helpful when you're here Inuyasha not to mention Kagome can't work with you here either.” Kaede said in a frustrated tone.

 

“Hasn't she learned enough?” Inuyasha asked as he stepped back out of reach of the woman's bow. Kaede had a thing for hitting him on the head when he said stupid things, he had to admit the old woman was brave, doing that to a demon that didn't particularly like her.

 

“Obviously not, if she can't dodge a few arrows.” Kaede said shaking her head at Inuyasha.

 

“That's only because you had Inuyasha purposely distracting me.” Kagome said in her defense.

 

“You should be able to concentrate on your safety no matter who's distracting you.” Kaede said turning her gaze to Kagome. Before Kagome could get another word out Kaede said, “We're done for today, we'll discus the next training day later.”

 

Once Kaede was far enough away Kagome and Inuyasha dropped into a sitting position next to each other. “I think she really doesn't like you…” Kagome said as she looked over at him.

 

“She doesn't trust me.” Inuyasha said as he pulled her closer. “Or it's the eyes…What do you think?”

 

“I just think she holds a grudge against you for becoming demon using the jewel.” Kagome said as she relaxed against him. “After Kikyo died for it.”

 

“Probably.” Inuyasha said with a nod. “Do you?”

 

“Hold a grudge because you became demon?” Kagome asked looking up at him. When he nodded Kagome shook her head. “No, I don't I said I'd stay by you no matter what. I wouldn't have said that if I would hold a grudge because you did something to make you happy.”

 

Inuyasha nodded at this. “Do you still want to be my mate?”

 

Kagome smile as she nodded saying, “Yeah I still want to be your mate.”
