Chapter 5
Lady Krista
The young miko sat in the forest cradling herself as she rocked back and forth. The tears hadn’t subsided yet. She was all alone in a dangerous forest. “I shouldn’t have ran off!!” She cursed at herself. She stood up as she looked around. ‘What’s the use? I can’t see anything..’ The young miko thought. Sticking out her hands, she started to feel what was around her. She paused for a moment, she grabbed her head and fell to her knees, ‘My head!!’ She screamed in her thoughts. Tears started to fall once more from the miko’s eyes.
“Are you alright, Child?” A females voice was heard through the dark forest.
“Who are you?!?!” Kagome yelled through the darkness.
“I’m no foe to you.”
“You didn’t answer my question.”
“Krista….”
“Krista.. If your no foe, help me out of this forest.”
“Alright.”
A hand grabbed her arm, and the miko jumped at the feel. The hand started to pull her forward, guiding her through the forest. After only a few short moments, light appeared. She was now standing in a meadow full of flowers and grass, a small stream ran in the middle of it. And a hut was in the middle of it.
The young miko looked beside her. A old woman stood looking at her. A pale expression she wore, with bright blue eyes and long red hair. She was as tall as Kagome. She wore robes of the colors black and red. A tail came from her back. Her nails were long and sharp. The woman was old indeed, but not as old as Kaeda. She was probably in her early 50’s.
The old woman smiled kindly at Kagome as she let go of her arm. “Hello, Dear Child. This is my home.” She looked at the young woman as she brought her hand up to whip the tears from her eyes. “Oh dear, what has happen to make you cry?” Krista asked looking at her with concern. The young miko stayed quite for a moment, wondering if she could trust her. ‘Well she didn’t kill me, and if she wanted to, she would have done it by now…she did have her chance in the forest.’ Thought the miko then she looked away for a moment. “My memories have…vanished.” Whispered the miko.
“Oh no.. here come with me, I’ll make something to eat..” She said as she motioned the young miko to follow here. They walked in silence to the hut. Walking behind the women Kagome continued to think about al that has happened. ‘I cant help but call out for help to this women, she’s the only one who hasn’t asked so many questions.
Entering the hut, Kagome looked around, taking in her surroundings. It was a fair big hut. A futon laid in the right corner of the hut. The other side was a place for the fire and had enough room around it so people could sit around it. Kagome stood at the entrance looking about the place. “Miss, I’m not hungry, but thanks for offering.”
“Well then we can just sit around the fire, and you can talk about anything you like.” Grabbing some logs the women set them on the place for a fire, she lit them and sat down. Kagome sat down across from her.
A sigh escaped the miko’s lips. “Do you remember your name?..” The silence was broken by the older woman.
“Ka…Kagome.”
“Well that’s a start,” She said with a smile.
“Yes. The people was with when I first awoken said that was my name.” She winced at the pain.
“You need some rest child. Here you can sleep there if you like. “ The woman pointed to the futon and Kagome nodded. She stood up and walked over to the bed. Laying down she sighed covering herself with the blankets. Closing her eyes, she laid there, not wanting to sleep, but wanting answers to her questions. ‘I just want to know who I am..’ She thought looking at the wall in front of her, as she laid on her side, not facing the woman. Sleep soon engulfed her.

Inu Yasha sat in the cave, staring up at the sky. ‘I’m so sorry Kagome...I should have never left you. Its all my fault…’ The henyou’s features soon sadden. “Inu Yasha..” A male voice was heard as the man sat down next to him.
“I’m sorry that I didn’t catch her in time” The monk sat a hand on the demons shoulder.
“Its not your fault.. Its mine for ever leaving her alone..” He sighed and looked at the monk. “I hope she’s okay.” The henyou had gotten used to sharing some of his feelings and thoughts to the monk. Over the years they had became best friends. But the demon still held secrets.
“That man.. Who chased Kagome? Did you get a good look at him?”
“Not really….I wish did though…I’m going to kill him the first chance I get.” The monk understood the henyou’s feelings. He looked back over his shoulder to see Songo talking to Kaede. Shippo was asleep against the two tailed cat demon. ‘If someone did that to Songo, I would feel the same.’ he thought then looked back at Inu Yasha.
“I still can’t believe you haven’t even asked her to marry you yet…”
“I still can’t believe you haven’t admitted you love Kagome.” The monk said backing away a bit.
“What did you say monk?!” The demon yelled as he shook a fist at Miroku.
“I’m just saying, why haven’t you even said a word to her over the years. Kagome had should how much she cared about you to many times, yet you still haven’t said a word of your feelings to her, and we all know you love her, Inu Yasha.”
The young dog demon turned around in a huff looking away from the monk.
“Or is Kikyo still in the way.” The young dog demon looked up into the sky, both images of the two women he loved appearing.
“That’s none of your business.” He said angrily.
“Inu Yasha. You still don’t get it do you.”
“Get what.”
“Kikyo has a cold touch, she almost killed you, yet she pinned you to the tree. And Kagome has a warm touch, and when she was under that spell and she was supposed to kill you, she never did. And after all the hurt you have caused her, she still stays by your side.
The henyou turned around to look at the monk. He was right, he knew it. He turned away and ran off towards the Dark forest.
“Inu Yasha… in the end who will you choose.” Whispered the monk turning around looking at his beloved Songo. ‘So many women wanted me, yet….I chose that women…She’s the one who won my heart…’ A grin appeared on his lips.
The young slayer looked back at the grinning monk. “What is it now Monk?” She looked behind him and didn’t see Inu Yasha. “Did he leave to go search for Kagome?”
“Oh. I don’t know…” He walked over to her and sat down.
“Ye Inu Yasha is out again, without say of where he has gone.”
The monk nodded and put an arm around Songo.
“I just wish Kagome is okay out there..”
“Common. Look at how many situations she has been through.. And yet she is still living to this day.” The young demon slayer said, saying that was only something to try and help low her fear.
Miroku stared at her. Knowing the reason why she was saying that. “Oh Songo.” He took her into his arms and held her.

Awaking seeing that night had fallen the headache had subsided. She looked over to the fire, to see the old demon warming up her hands. The young miko sat up with a yawn. “Child, Your awake.” Pouring a cup of water, the old demon stood up and walked over to Kagome. She gave the cup of water and watch her drink it. After, Kagome put the cup in her lap and looked at the demon.
“Why do you stay here all alone?”
“To get away from the world.”
“Away.. Why?”
“See…I fell in love, and the man denied me. I thought I could trust him at first. He made me laugh, smile, and do thinks I never thought I could…Then… He killed my family. And said that I was next. I got away. And now I am in hiding. Been in hiding for 12 years now.”
“Why don’t you just fight him?”
“He is much stronger, Child.”
“Hmm…”
There was a long pause between the two.
“Kagome.”
“Yes?”
“Do you remember anything?”
“Just a little….I remember.. A silver haired man, with ears, not like mine, but triangular and pointy… And every time I think of him, I feel something. I don’t know what..”
“Is it something bad or good?”
“Not a bad feeling.. No no…A good feeling.. “
The woman smiled. “Maybe its love.”
“Maybe… But every now and then… I feel a sharp pain in my heart.”
“Oh?”
The young miko sighed. “I just want to remember, Krista.”
“I know, dear.”
The woman put a arm around the girl and hugged her while she cried.
After a moment or so of silence, the old woman pulled back, looking down at her she gave her a reassuring smile. “How are your wounds, Dear?” She asked.“hmm? Oh?” Kagome pulled off the covers to see the wholes in her jeans. She saw no blood, only scars. “Their fine.” She whipped her tears away and sighed. ‘They only wanted to know what was wrong…’ She thought. A flash went through her mind, more like a image. She closed her eyes for a moment. She saw herself, and the woman she saw earlier, the monk, the animal type looking thing, and..the silvered haired man with ears. They all sat around a camp fire, and what seemed like, they were laughing. Opening her eyes she looked at the woman.
Standing up she looked down at Kagome. “Come. I’ll take you back out of the forest. So you can find that man you talked about…” She held out her hand and helped Kagome up. “Thank you.” The old woman only smiled and led her out the hut and through the forest.
