Every one had stopped when they saw Kagome stand and turn. InuYasha, in worry that something was wrong, had stood up on key almost instintly after she did. Her movements were unstable, and she held the door way to the other room for support. He tried to help but she protested. She didnt need hs help, his pitty. He sttod beside her, beside himself, as his brows furrowed in confusion. It seemed almost as if she was intoxicated. She almost collasped on their futon as soon as she saw it in eye site. But InuYashas steady hands caught her. She was asleep. Her thoughts and another world had beckoned her.
She was asleep. And she dreamed.

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
Kagome walked through the forest. Its green leaves tainted with brown, for the warm days were now growing colder. Warm colors such as brown, orange and off beat yellows fell from the frozen branches of the sleeping trees. The raven haired girl wandered through the wooded area. She had no idea how she had gotten there, nor why. The thought crossed her mind as to where she was going, but it quickly left as she felt it more and more unnatural to stop. It was as if her instincts could tell her which way to turn and which route to take.
The breeze seemed to have a strange calling to it. It seemed as if a mother was singing a lullabye to a small child. The wind played this song while it careassed her, as it moved swiftly on its feet. The unseen song was her guide. Lureing her to the unknown place, and she was following aimlessly.
When had the time slipped by so quickly? Was it truely nearing winter already? It seemed as if just yesterday that the leaves of summer started to bloom, and a long with them, new promises, new days, new hopes. Everything seemed to have changed so much. Time slipped away like sand threw ones hand. It almost scared her some what. Was she becomming weak in her senses like Kikyo had...
No, Kikyo lost her power because she was foolish... because she was selfish. But Kagome was too, wasnt she? She wanted InuYasha to belong to her, and her alone. To have al his love, his attention, his care, all put into her. Was that selfish, or was that only fair?
Thats the question Kagome kept asking herself. Was she wrong for wanting it to be so, or wrong for wanting it at all. It mattered not to her that he was hanyou. It made him no less of a person, but what bothered her was Kikyo.
It always, no matter what, came back to Kikyo. The perfect one. The beautiful one. The powerful one. Everything that Kagome could never be, wanted to be, should be, thrust into one person, makeing a mockery of her. How many times had InuYasha scolded that Kikyo was so much better looking? So much more attractive? So much more desirable? He had drilled it into her head that she was nothing; worthless in his eyes. If ever he was to compliment her, she flushed, not from the words that he said, but because HE had said them at all. No matter how badly she wanted it, wished for it, pined for it, it made her feel more awkward than she already did.
That seemed to change however, when she started haveing those dreams. It was a on agian off agian thing, and through its strange, horror filled ways, it brought them closer together.
Kagome now walked through the forest. No particular place in mind. Suddenly, a blaze of red whipped by. Silver struck along with it, makeing itself almost unnoticable. She called out to him, knowing instintly whom it was. The mass of red, the haze of silver. It was InuYasha.
"InuYasha!" She mouthed, only air shooting out. She was mute. Her hands took no time to fly to her throat, where she began to rub it, smoothing it flat, as if it would some how help.
"InuYasha!" she pleaded agian. Breathless and afriad.
She could feel her heart beat steadily increaseing as time wore on. Each second that passed, her fear struck another notch. She was sure that her heart was about to burst from her chest it had thudding so voilently. With each numbing pound growing louder, she was sure she was about to become def from brazen beat. Her breath became wore and more ragged and shallow. She was scared, and she felt that the only person that was able to save her, was not listening. Not hearing, or prehaps what she feared most- not careing.
His pace was now to a walk. He seemed almost in awe. What was he heading to? It must be something amazeing, else he would not have gone in such a manner, such a hurry. Was there a demon near? Maybe InuYasha thought there was a jewel shard near. Kagome paused. She could feel the world pulse around her. Yes, there was a shard near. More than one at that. She better help. InuYasha could not see the fragments, and he would surely fail with out her aid.
She looked around her, hands still grasped firmly to her neck. The pale white skin was now tinged with red from her efforts to try and bring back her lost voice. Finding strength, she walked forward, heading into a heavy run.
She stopped when she saw crimson and silver insnared into the web of a spider demon. It made its way closer to the hanyou. She screamed.
"InuYasha!"
And she said it. Her voice came back. It was said in a peirceing scream, one which was able to shatter glass. Agian, she brought her hands to rub at the tender flesh, shocked that she could hear. That he could hear.
Not that he was showing any signs of it. He struggled as its fangs dripped closer to his flesh. Was he too afriad to hear? InuYasha? Afriad? That sentance scared her. He could not be frightend. He was hanyou. Her hanyou. Fearless in everything and trusting in none. He couldnt be scared. She chanted it mentally to her self over and over agian. She was too transfixed to even notice, nor care, that she had called InuYasha a hanyou. Let alone hers.
Where was his sword? She looked to his hips, where his sheath should lay. The spot remained empty. Kagome was bewildered. Where was tetsagia? If he didnt have his fathers sword...
Demon. He would turn demon. She was too far away to 'sit' him. Wait. Was she? Maybe, if she called it loud enough, he would break free of the web! She scanned the area of where he would be to fall. He was far up. It would be a long trip to the bottem, and no less a painful one. But he would thank her later, even if the words were never said. She would be able to see it in his eyes.
The fang of the spider moved its way to his neck. His hoari was strangely absent. She looked. Just white. His silver fore locks fell to the side, but... but where was his necklace? The purple prayer beads should be hanging near his shoulders, drapeing towards his chest. They were not there. She could not 'sit' him. She couldn't save him!
Just then, a blare of pink light came forth. It flew threw the air, cutting through it. It made excelent time, but it was weak. Steal and wood, combined with the souls of others made its way.
An arrow was shot.
It hit the demon spider in its right side. It winced in pain, but it did not kill. It whitered up from the arrow, leaveing InuYasha to free himself. It took no more time than the blinking of an eye. Although not dead, it was hurt. Its shooter was good. Aim percise and got a direct hit. But its power was weak. Sure enough, it had it... at one point. Its power, its self defense was increasingly leaveing, on account of lies.
Kagome ran to InuYasha. He was hurt, that much was obvious. His leg was greatly injured, and he seemed in a world of pain. Rushing to his side, she put a hand on his back, as she knelt down beside him. He shivered in the spot her hand touched. But a grin across his face. He didnt even notice her standing, trying to give him comfort.
"Inu...InuYasha?" She called. But he never responded to her. Instead, his eyes gazed up to find the one who had saved his life.
The shooter remained unseen. Hidden with in the trees. The hanyou looked around, and smiled. He knew who it was. In a run, that ended up in a walking limp, he made his way to a tree, and looked into its branches. Kagomes eyes followed the whole time.
A mix of red. A blurr of white. Black smeared in the chaos. Kagome knew who it was.
Kikyo.....

InuYasha stared at Kagome. She lied on the futon that the princess had provided for them. Miroku had expressed his thanks for her kindness. She told him to think nothing of it.
"Princess. We hope that we are not over staying our welcome."
"Nonsince. I have told you you are welcome as long as you wish."
"I dont know how we will be able to express our thanks."
She only smiled in return.
Miroku smiled at the thought as it crossed his mind. He turned his attention to his friend paralyzed in a dream on the floor below. He looked, for a moment, at the expression InuYasha was makeing. Concern edged upon his features. The monk found it most unsettleing.
'Why? What caused this to happen once more? What evil is at work here?'
InuYasha set his eyes blankly upon Kagome. The scent of her fear clogged his nostrails. She was in pain, and he knew not the antidote.
'Kagome... Kagome... What are you dreaming of? What is so frightening that you are unable to move, unable to feel? Do you know that I am right here beside you? I would never leave you Kagome, not now, not like this. Not ever.'
InuYasha was too entwined to worry that he had let his once sturdy shleter he built around himself, starting to fall. Nor did he care at the moment that he had just admitted it. No, nothing mattered right now other than Kagome. If she was not alright... nothing would ever matter agian.....
InuYasha looked down at her sleeping figure. Although in obvious torment, she was still graceful looking. Haveing the class of a goddess, in such pain, she still looked beautiful. But then agian, some things never change.
Kagomes hands, with out warning, flew up to her throat, then slid to her heart. Her hands clenched into a fist, and her breathing jagged. The hanyou jumped. Her brows fused together, and a tear streamed down her check.
"Kagome!" Sango called out.
"Kagome!" The monk uttered.
"Oh no! wake up Kagome! Wake up!" The fox kit cried.
InuYasha flinched. He leaned over, shakeing her shoulder.
"Kagome! Kagome! Wake up!" The hanyou bellowed. Kagome did not stirr. She just lied there, a clencthed fist above her broken heart, hot tears falling
violently. No one knew what to do next. She was in a world, that was unreachable, unbreakable. They couldnt save her... He couldnt save her.
InuYasha felt fear, true fear, for the first time in years.

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
She stood there, heartbreak seeping deeply with in her. She was unable to stand it. She needed away out. She needed to be free.
InuYasha couldnt hear her. He couldnt see her. She was nothing. She stumbled onward, towards Kikyo and InuYasha.
They were there, holding each other. Kikyos arms twisted around his. He breathed her in as if she was air. Slowly, a glow of pink, and a flash of purple came, shooting upward. A circle platform came from the ground, lowering, at a slow pace. The gate ways to hell came forth.
Kagome now ran. She flew through the air, as fast as her feet could carry her. Tripping on her own feet was a problem, but her mind was set on more important things. InuYasha... InuYasha....
The undead miko looked into the eyes of the living one. They narrowed. Kikyo pointed and raised two fingers. As if dagger, an attack was made upon her. Kagome cried out in pain. The prestist resumed her tasks.
"NO!" Kagome shouted, picking herself back up.
Kikyos looked up once more. Annoyance deep with in her. Agian, she raised two more fingers, and a direct hit aimed at her. This time, Kagome was lulled. She was unconsious.
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
"What the hell is that?" Miroku shouted, as Kagomes body bucked into the air.
"Inu... InuYasha.... I smell...." The kitsune tried.
"Kagomes blood. Her arm is bleeding."
The wounds were deep. Gashes, about five or so, slideing all the way down her silky skin. What had caused them? Why Kagome? What had she done to get such a cruel punishment?
The hanyous nose scrunched up. He hated the stench of human blood. But Kagomes.... She was hurt, red liquid running easily. It was unbearable.
"Get me some water Shippo! Quick!" Sango beckonded.
Soon enough he had done so, a wash cloth in hand as well. Sango cared for and treated the wounds that Kagome had suffered. With each stroke, Kagome started to flinch at the pain, but she more or less was lieing still.
Still enough to be dead...........
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The cool air filled the cave. Night was upon the land, and they were high above everyones view. The scent that this place gave off was one of death, one that could send an instint chill to the base of your spine. It seemed that this place had a climate much cooler than the outside world. As if it was blocking away
what ever was awaiting on the out skirts of this cave. Its walls were pale gray, almost a purple in a mix, but it was moss filled. The green that tainted its sides
was a deep color, one that looked dead. This whole place gave off that essance. In a word, it was morbid.
A dark figure lived here. He was one of high standard, well known, well hated. His name was enough to give a jolt of fear to some, and burst of anger to others.
A small, rare smile pricked the sides of his lips. Cold, and bitter, they hurt from the unknown jesture. No, this person never smiled. It was a smirk. He looked at his surrondings. Pale and death. Hate and regret. Sadness and envy is what made this place up. No, its what made him up.
Envy. Such a commen emotion. Found only in the brinks of humans. Mortals. The weak.
Was that what he was? He was not human, nor was he mortal. But weak? Could HE be weak? That is such a stupid thing, even to think. He posessed more power than man and demons longer in rain than he. He had learned from their mistakes. Watched them, avoided them. He had an army that was
untouchable.
Built and chosen by fools. All those he cared for, stayed close to him. He never let a deal go sour.
A deal. He had a meeting in less than two minutes.
The sun had long ago set. He hated that. Those color, bright and cheerful; Beckoning him to be more merry, more... joyful. He was dark, where as they light. Yes, it was almost the classic case of dark verse light, good verses bad. Holey verses evil. But to be merry? That seemed so good. Good? Ha!
That was one thing that he was not. But he did want the one thing that could, no that would make him so.
She was bright, yes, she reminded him of the colors of a sun set, or a sun rise. Either one befitting. She was the sun, she was... pure.
Purity. Something he wanted, yet could never have. He didnt want it in the sense that he wished to have it with in ones self. No, he wished for the owner. Wanted her. Even almost prayed for her.
What was it that made her that way? That undescribable feeling that arose to his gut when ever he meerly thought of her. Sure he had seen countless beautiful women before. Many were brought to his home, in hopes that their lord would chose a wife. But no... he wanted a mate. He wanted her.
She had mid night hair that fanned out around her shoulders. Some how, it seemed almost silk. Her eyes were deep, longing to fix the problems of others, takeing the hurt, the pain, into her so that maybe they could feel some relief. He wanted that. Not the relief. He wanted her. She was pure.
When he had seen her, his mind raced with questions. Who was she? Why did she look so much like that miko... Kikyo? Yes, at first they could be called
similar looking, but in truth, they had only a few of the same charactoristics. Prehaps the mass of eyes, and the out line of the mouth. Not much else though. Kikyo was lovely, but she... She was.... untouched.
Kagome. Kagome was beautiful, and pure. He yearned for it, for her. He wanted to taint her untainted soul. And he had no doubt in his mind, that he would.
But prehaps what made him want her most, was that he wanted her, not his past.
Surely, he had found others attractive, but none such as she. He wanted her. She was so pure, he was dying to seep some evil into her. To be able to taint Kagome is what he dreamed of at night. What he wanted. What he desired. And he always got what he wanted.
And he wanted to put a certian kind of maalce into the miko that was unmeasureable. And he could do so, but one problem stood in his way.
InuYasha.
That half breed. The hanyou had the nerve to think he deserved some one such as she? Kagome was too good for him, to perfect. But he would take care of that soon enough. All good things must come to an end. And Kagome was good, so her rain as pure will come short lived.
That damned arrogent bastard. He always got in his way of what he desired. When at first, he wanted the one he thought to be untouched... Kikyo... He saw
that the two had become unmistakeably closer lately. Often at nights he saw that he would wrap hsi arms around her, holding her close, holding her dear. Her soul seemed to brighten at those times.
When it was Kikyo that he was after, the hanyou and she claimed to have been in a love. Agian, clawing for what was not his. He was detrmained to make her his though. Deviseing a plan, that kept in tack for fifty years, he set the two apart. It was a mixture of his past and envy.
That word agin. He envyed that mutt. Now more than ever.
He had no longer had wishes for Kikyo. She was tainted, filled to the core with mallace. He had done that, yet in ways he had not. She was already seeping with it before she met her premature fate. It was a false love claim- a lie- that set her powers down cast and her heart heavy. He didnt want some ones elses used goods. No he wanted his own.
Thats why he stopped dead in his tracks when he came upon Kagome. So much like how Kikyo had been at first, yet so much more. He couldnt help but want it. Need it. yes, he needed it.
His whole life was based around haveing the Shikon No Tama. The purity, the value, the power. Its beauty increases when mallace touches it form. He made sure of that, too. Now the jewel was in its most generous state, and the miko he wished for would soon enough be his. His to taint, his to mark.
A slim figure walked through the barrier of the cave. Red and white was adorned on her body. False hood surronded her. As the clay body made itself present, she uttered a faint, yet mocking word.
"....Naraku..."
"Kikyo. How good it is to see you. And on time."
"I take it you have called me here to tell you of the report." She said knowingly.
"Yes."
"She is ready."
"Execlent! We shall waste no time!" He said with pleasure.
"And just, what plan of action do you plan on strikeing?"
"I have it ready. Is she dreaming?"
The miko closed her eyes for a breif moment, then re-opened them.
"Yes. She is sleep. At the moment, she is at the cross over. She doesnt know who she is."
"Good. We shall take it from there."
"What." She said with a smirk. "Shall I do next?"
"Let her think a while. Let her become known in this place. Is it wrong that we invade her dreams?"
"Do you remember your promise?"
"Yes, how could I forget?"
"You will not harm InuYasha. He belongs to me."
A smirk graced the corners of his lips.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
The words of her dreams seemed to sing to her. The melody called to her, coaxing her to come out and play.
Kagome........... Kagome...............
The voice moved with the wind. It was an Earth shattering kind, one so quite, yet so loud. It seemed to have a childs tone, a childs voice. It was almost pleasent. She could focus her mind on this and not... not...
What was it that she was hurting over? Where was she? Who was she? Why couldnt she remember?
Kagome took a second to look around. The room, if you could call it that, was empty. She was surronded completely in balck. In this room, no walls
exsisted, no doors, nor any floor. She was standing on the black, in the black. She wasso completely lost.
'Where... Where am I?' She questioned herself. This place was new. It screamed that she did not belong here, and with every ounce, every fiber in her being, she wanted to get out. Some thing inside of her was telling her information that she should know, as if it should be instinct. She believed that voice in her mind. The one telling her to leave, that this was unsafe.
Unsafe.
'Why does that word sound so... familar? What was unsafe? Or maybe... Or maybe who?' Her mind repremanded her.
To say that Kagome was indanger, unprotected....unsafe.... that was an understatement. She was unaware of everything around her. Dull colors haunted this
place.
You belong here. The words moved with a quick intensity.
There it was agian! That wind, that voice, that coaxing nature! Why did it call to her? Could anyone else hear it? Was there anyone else?
"Who are you?" She shouted into no where, into nothing.... into the one color that surronded her. It full filled this place, yet left it empty. Why couldnt things be as they apper for once?
Come with me...
"Who are you?" She stated once more. She was scared. She was frightend. She was... alone.
Alone....
She knew that word well. Why? She could tell that it was one which caused her pain. She could sense that it was something of great importance. She stored that word away mentally. She had to find a way out. She had to find him... she would help her!
Who.... Who is....... him? And how would he save her?
Come with me Kagome! It said, a little more demanding than before.
Who? Who would help her? Why couldnt she remember?
Remember? It seemed like she should... Like remembering something had hurt, yet saved her. How could that be? Remember! It was what got her in that mess. In those emotions, in those...
Kagome was lost in a daze. She was in a strange place, a strange world that seemed like she had forgotten her memories in it. She longed to find them. She longed to feel them, see them. It was as if this body she inhabited was not her own. Her state of mind seemed to slip in and out. One second things seemed as if she should know them, then that voice would come. It beckonded her to forget.
Forget. Forget them all.
"Forget? Forget who? What if I dont want to forget?" 'What am I to forget? Why do I feel as if something is so close... yet so far?'
He doesnt want you Kagome, and you know it. The voice sang.
The voice had lost its childhood innocents, it soft gental, teaseing tone. Now it seemed cold, and much older. She shivered at the voice. At the person, bidding her to lose what she had yet to find.
"Who? Who doesnt want me?"
The words stung. Almost periced through her. She had gashes that left aless painful wound on her. No, this one was unseen. This one... This hurt from inside of her. Hot tears sprung to her eyes.
"Who? Who doesnt want me?" She cryed out agian, into the blackness that surronded her.
Kagome........... Kagome.......... It echoed out.
"What?" She sobbed.
"What do you want?"
Its time to go Kagome...
"Go? Go where?"
Follow me........
"Who are you? Where am I to follow you too?"
Come.....
Kagome just closed her eyes.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Kagome! Kagome!" He shouted.
InuYasha had layed her down on the futon, and she was now asleep. He willed her to get up, to awaken her. She had been asleep now for the last two days. He was going crazy. She wouldnt stirr, she would moan. She was just.... there.... asleep.....gone. So close, yet so far from his reach. Why? What had she ever done to deserve this?
"What are you dreaming about Kagome?" He said idly.
"InuYasha?" Shippo said, a marked frown on his face.
"What?" He replyed, never shifting his gaze off the miko before him.
"Is Kagome going to be okay? Tell me shes going to be alright!"
InuYasha just lifted his fist and then dropped it atop of the young kitsunes head. At first, he was upset at the action. What right had he to go around hitting him when all he wanted to know was how Kagome was doing? Then, when he saw the look of panic, hurt and worry struck on his face, it all melted away. This all seemed familar.
"This seems to have happened before, InuYasha."
"What are you talking about monk?" His gaze still set on her.
"Do you remember the dark prestist? She had set a curse upon Kagome, and she was like like this."
"Yes, Miroku is right. She was acting strangely."
"No one put a curse on her."
"Huh?" The three said in unison.
"She would have flinched, moaned, gave away any sign of anything."
"Well then wha-"
"Shes asleep."
"For two days?" The monk asked.
"I guess the dreams have been comming back."
"I thought that she had stopped haveing them!" Sango cried out, remembering the day she had first saw how serious it can be.
"Yeah, so did we."
"Why is she not talking?" Shippo asked. "Why is she not talking like she does when she sleeps?"
"I... I dont know...."
