" Come on, Kagome! Your the one who wanted to go remember?" Inuyasha looked at his watch and then back to the stairs. Why did he agree to go to this stupid thing?

 

" I'm coming down right now Inuyasha!" Kagome said, putting on her last black high heel. She looked at herself in the mirror. She really did hope Inuyasha would like this dress. She took in a breath and went into the hall, well no time to waste.

 

" Kagome!" Inuyasha yelled, were all woman like this?

 

" I'm coming!" Kagome walked the stairs and watched as Inuyasha's mouth hung, something she couldn't explain in his eyes. " Well?" She said when she left the last step.

 

" You look great, Kagome." He said stunned. Kagome was wearing an enticing salsa dress with sexy ruffles dancing along the hemline and adorned with an elegant floral print design. It was red and hugged her in all the right places.

 

" Thanks." She blushed, her fingers interlocking then fidgeting. " You don't look half bad. I never seen you in a tux before." He smiled at her shyness. Even if they were mates it seemed as if they just started going out.

 

" One last thing before we go..." Inuyasha said leaving her sight to enter her bedroom. She stood there confused until she saw what was in his hands.

 

" Do you really think someone will come after us, Inuyasha?" Inuyasha placed his sword underneath his belt.

 

" We never know what might come after us, Kagome. Better safe than sorry." Kagome nodded her head at this as she went to get her purse. Finally done with last minute things they went to the car.

 

" So this party is at Demon Inc.?"

 

" Its the only place that a bunch of demons can hang out. Safe too seeing as we're together and all."

 

" So the point of the sword?"

 

" Its just in case. I don't want to be the only one not fighting if something happens." Inuyasha took a quick glance off the road to look at her. He knew she just wanted to talk to pass the time but it seemed she was trying to rid herself of something else too. " Whats wrong?"

 

" I don't want to see you fight again." She whispered looking out her window. It had scared her to say the least to watch him take on Kikyo. She might not know what she felt for him but did know that she would never get over it if he died. Not like she was going to tell him that.

 

" Its what I do. Its what I have to do. Once Naraku is no longer here, I am going to have to be put back on some cases. You know that don't you?" He watched the road again as he thought about what he had just said. Did he really want to leave Kagome to fight some battle he had no wish to fight any longer?

 

" I do but I don't want to be there." She closed her eyes. Before her uncle was taken he had said they were partners. She would have to help Inuyasha in whatever they had to do next. " I don't want to see you fight but I really have no chose either."

 

" What?"

 

" We're partners now. We must do things together." She bit her lip, how had this conversation come up again? She did not have a clue.

 

" Are you scared? We are mates Kagome which means I'll never let anything happen to you. Not now not ever." If only Inuyasha knew what Kagome was thinking. She didn't want him to get hurt and now, well, she didn't want him to get hurt because of her.

 

They finally made it to the parking lot of the building. Inuyasha parked in his regular place then got out to help Kagome.

 

" So where do we go?"

 

" You should know its where Miroku and Sango used to work."

 

" Used to?" Kagome asked not getting what he was saying.

 

" Their back on the force now that Naraku has taken so many lives. We need all the people we can get."

 

" Inuyasha, Kagome!" They heard someone yell. They turned and was greeted by Miroku and Sango.

 

" Hey Sango!" Kagome said giving her a hug.

 

" What about me?" Miroku asked, his arms open.

 

" Touch her pervert and I'll make sure you and Sango can't have any kids." Miroku sweat dropped and just held out his hand to shake Kagome's. " Better." Inuyasha mumbled as Kagome shook the monk's hand. They all went inside and ordered a couple drinks. It was a great party. Everyone who worked at demon Inc. seemed to be there but Inuyasha didn't feel right. Something was bugging him.

 

" Hey Sango?" He called to the almost drunk woman dancing behind him.

 

" Yes?" She slurred as she grounded against Miroku.

 

" Who put together this party?" Kagome asked before Inuyasha had a chance. It was bugging her to no end.

 

" I don't know, why not ask Sakura?" Inuyasha lead Kagome off the dance floor, something was up. He held Kagome close to him just in case.

 

" You feel it too, Inuyasha?" Kagome shivered, darkness was around. She looked around the crowd finally noticing something. " Hey, Yash?"

 

" What?" He said sniffing afterwards. A foreign scent and he knew who it belonged to.

 

" It feels like Kikyo is here but then theres someone else..."

 

" Smells of death doesn't it dog boy?" They turned to see non other than Kikyo and who was that with her?

 

" Don't some of these people look deadly tired?" The woman said looking to some on the dance floor. Thats when Inuyasha realized. A barrier surrounded them making it hard to pick up on the scent but it was there. Dead agents danced with the living.

 

" What the?"

 

" Dance of the dead!" The woman yelled taking out a fan and waving it in the air. Almost half of the dancers stilled at this an turned to face their master. " My name be Kagura and I am known as the wind witch." She announced shutting her fan a bit to have the dead surround Inuyasha and Kagome.

 

" With a little help form me both you and you witch will be dead by the end of this party." Kikyo cackled reveling a bow and some arrows.

 

" This is the reason for the sword." Inuyasha said taking it and transforming it to its true glory. Kagome shivered, she did not want to do or see this again.

 

" Dance of the dragon!" Kagura yelled as a wind storm appeared and the dead charged from their places.

 

" Inuyasha!"

Yes I know that this took forever to update but hey I got so into writing Love's Perfect Match
