Chapter 5: Visitors

 

The building now had what looked like a black portal on the side of its wall, looking as innocent as possible, leaving everyone puzzled.

 

Inuyasha started to win the fight against the demon half of his soul, and he looked over to find where Kagome was, finding her next to him laying motionless on the hard concrete ground still.

 

But before he could try and wake her Sirokol flew over, grabbed her, and quickly returned to beside his brother Jinemy. “What's wrong Inuyasha can't seem to move?” He laughed as Inuyasha tried to reach at Kagome but was stopped from the chains that bound him.

 

Sirokol let a drop of acid fall from his hand onto Kagome, she quickly woke up to the sting on her cheek, realizing where she was, she started to struggle to free herself, but he kept a strong hold on her arms and legs.

 

“Let her go you filthy demon!” Inuyasha was out raged, how dare he touch her, his instincts started to kick in and it told him that he was challenging him, he pulled against his bindings again, his power seemed to have been draining slowly away, but he kept trying.

 

Kagome started to scream… Inuyasha pulled even harder feeling his strength return to him as he started to move forward, each time he moved he tugged harder at the chains, which had started to slowly slide from the ground with him but still kept their hold.

 

“Its no use you're to weak, not even your brother was able to break those chains, and you should just give u…” Mikolen was cut off by the sounds of chains shattering, he noticed Kagome had screamed again and put his hands over his ears to shield them from the sound, he was stunned that Inuyasha was able to break the chains… now the problem was he was coming straight for them!

 

Inuyasha raced over to Sirokol, who threw Kagome at him and ran before he could attack, Inuyasha quickly caught Kagome before she hit the ground, setting her gently down on her feet, and turned to where Mikolen and Jinemy still stood and bared his teeth, daring them to try and take her away from him now!

 

“If they try that again I'll rip them to pieces!” the demon half of his soul was happy that Kagome was back, and wasn't about to let her out of his sight again.

 

“I agree!” The human half of his soul was silently celebrating the return of Kagome, as well as the fact that she was awake again and seemed to be doing just fine.

 

Miroku, Sango, Shippo, and Kerala ran over to their side relieved that he broke free. Jinome raced up to Inuyasha, and without a seconds hesitation, his arm went through Inuyasha's stomach making a gaping hole through him that you could clearly see through, Jinome decided to try and end this quickly, so he once again started saying an incantation, the wind started to pick up, his hands raised it up to him and them pushed the group through the portal with the powerful wind, throwing them into it, but just before he did the demon half of Inuyasha rose up, and Jinome and Mikolen were unexpectedly pulled in with them.

“Calm down nothing bad is going to happen, try and enjoy your self, we could go to the candy shop and buy something sweet to keep your mind off of your thoughts, come on its only your second time to Hogsmade and you've hardly bought anything, let alone had a good time!” The boy pulled him into a big colorful shop that smelled of freshly made candy.

 

“I don't know Ron, I just have this feeling that something big is going to happen, I guess I should at least try and have a good time.” Harry followed Ron into the Candy shop. He examined a new piece of fruit candy that had just been released, and looked skeptically at it, wondering whether or not it was edible. Ron had found the sour twigs, and decided to buy a few packs, while Harry on the other hand kept one eye looking out the window, the other just barely noticing all the enticing sweet things around him.

 

A girl came through the door and looked around the room for them, until she finally spotted them, they had been looking at the cotton candy maker as she made her way through the enormous crowd towards the two.

 

“Hey Hermione have you seen these new sour twigs that they've got out now? There delicious!” Ron shoved a bunch of them into his mouth at once, she looked at him disgusted at his behavior, and instead turned to Harry who was still staring blankly through the window.

 

“Harry what seems to be the matter?” Hermione looked in the direction he seem so intent on, but found nothing, she looked worriedly at him thinking he had seen something.

 

“Its nothing, really.” Harry directed his gaze now at Ron who seem content eating his sour twigs in mouthfuls, which was making it hard for him to talk to Nevil who was also clearly intent on finishing his chocolate covered lollipop.

 

“Hey Harry have you heard from Sirius lately?” She tried to get Harry's mind off of whatever subject that seemed to be upsetting him, when he finally snapped out of it he looked at her.

 

“No not lately, but in his last letter he said he was running from something, he couldn't say what, but it sounded bad.” Ya know, I think I do want something sweet to eat, he looked for some chocolate frogs and anything else that drew his attention, Hermione also seemed drawn with a craving for sweets, so she decided to search the shop for something with cherries in it.

 

When they had finished getting everything they wanted, Hermione, fallowed closely by Ron and Harry, who seemed to fall behind ever so slightly, walked into the two broom sticks and found a seat near the back, as they sat down they over heard an old man raving on about something.

 

“I tell you they were everywhere, popping up all over then disappearing out of thin air I saw it just this morning when I gone to find my owl and send a letter! They were some sort of a portal hole or something, I didn't get a good enough look at it to know for sure but I did see them!” the old man waved his hands in the air, as some other men listened in with disbelief at his story.

 

“Can you believe that loon is talking about portals in public? No ones seen one for hundreds of years!” Ron ordered them 3 butter beers from the beautiful waitress that had come to take their orders.

 

“200 years to be exact, even then no one knew who created it, and besides Ron who would be stupid enough to believe him? Not a soul's been strong enough to create one, I'm not even sure Dumbledore can!” Hermione took a sip of the butter beer the waitress had brought back, and looked over at Harry.

 

“You don't believe him, do you Harry?” She watched his expression making sure he wasn't lying to her.

 

“No, not really, I mean its like you said isn't it, no ones been strong enough to make one for 200 years and I don't think their just going to start popping up now.” Harry looked through his butter beer glass, watching the fizz rise to the top and then disappear, he pretended he was interested in it and kept his eyes focused on each bubble that rose to the top.

 

Part of him believed the mans story while the other part was saying that it was impossible, she decided not to say anything to irritate him further, and merely finished off her butter bear and looked over at Ron, who had successfully made a bubble mustache and was laughing with Sean, who stood to the left of him away from Hermione and Harry, both were trying to get the bubbles to stick to the top of their lips, Sean had come close to doing it but failed as a man had opened the door and blew away all the bubbles.

 

Hermione started to giggle as Ron smile turned to her to show off his mustache grin, he looked like Dumbledore without the beard. Sean finally got his bubbles to stay but they slowly slid down into his mouth, so, deciding to abandon his plans, he dumped the rest of his drink all over Ron's head making his mustache dissolve as well, and turned his red hair a tint of rusty brown. Ron threw his drink at him and got it all over his face and robes, that would need to be washed when they got back to the castle, he grinned at him as he started to wipe the butter beer off his face, and shook his wet hand at Sean for good measure.

 

Harry started to laugh as well, and quickly drank the last bit of his butter beer, incase they got any ideas, and moved to the side as Ron leaned over to wipe some butter beer on his cheek.

 

He paid the waitress as they got ready for their trip back to the castle, Ron and Hermione followed suit, Ron cleaned himself as best as he could, before they stepped out into the cold spring air and made the long walk back to the castle.

 

Harry still seemed uncertain, but decided that he should follow Ron's advice, and relaxed as he sat down in his favorite chair in the Griffin Door Common Room, looking into the fire as the flames flickered. After a while he walked slowly up the stairs wondering when he would get to see Sirius again, making his way over to his bed, and started to put his pajamas, all the while looking through the foggy window, maybe he's out there right now, waiting for me, still he saw nothing and decided he should rest, when his head reached the pillow he seemed to have already fallen asleep.

 

Ron to had fallen asleep way before his head even got near the pillow, Hermione took a few minutes to look around in the girls dorm rooms, then she too finally shut her eyes for the long day ahead.

When the three woke up, they immediately got dressed for breakfast, as Harry stumbled to find clean clothes in his trunk he found a letter, Ron caught sight of it too as he picked it up and examined it, on the front was no more than a faded paw print, Harry opened it eagerly to find this little note-

 

“Dear Harry,

I was coming to visit you but decided against it when I realized someone was following Wither Wings and me. I'm not sure yet if we lost them, but it seemed they were after something, I don't know what it was though, I am going to a cave somewhere outside Hogsmade, I'm not sure how long I can hang out there but I'll try to come see you soon, and remember Harry, stay inside the castle unless you absolutely have to, I've been keeping in touch with Dumbledore, and he says he's been keeping his eye out for danger, so be careful,

 

Love Snuffles.”

 

Harry set the letter down, a prickle of fear ran through him, if someone IS following him, he might get caught and sent back to azkaban prison, and I wont ever see him again, at the same time, he felt happy, maybe just maybe, I can see him again.

 

Ron looked at Harry then back at the note, wondering what he was thinking, and let out a sigh of relief when he saw him start to smile for the first time in what seemed like ages. They walked down to breakfast and quickly ate as they told Hermione about the letter Sirius, I mean, Snuffles, wrote.

 

“I don't know about this Harry, if Sirius comes to visit he'll probably get caught by one of the teachers, I think professor Snape would love to find him again.” Hermione took a sip of her orange juice, “We don't even know exactly where he is anyway.”

 

With that said she gathered her books and headed off to her first class, Harry and Ron did the same, checking to make sure they had all of their books this time before they got to class, Ron followed Harry to Professor Mcgonagall's (I checked for spelling yes) class his spirits seemed to have brightened as they walked up the stairs following the right path. When they finally reached the room, they had gotten through the door just in time; Professor Mcgonagall looked suspiciously at them as they found their seats, and set their books on the hard wood table.

 

At noon they all walked back to the great hall for lunch, people were whispering as usual, and the first years looked at Harry with awe, finally they found a seat down the long glossy table, the food had just started to appear on its surface, feeding the hungry students that had been waiting. Harry ate all of the food he had on his plate, though he still had an uneasy feeling, he pushed it aside with the thought of seeing Sirius again, and wondered when he could meet him, with all the homework they were being assigned by their teachers, it would take him all the free time he had to finish everything and still have time to see him.

 

They went back to the Griffin Door common room and tried to do their home work, finally finishing it all just in time for dinner. As they walked down, Harry's uneasiness returned in full force he couldn't help but think there was something, something big that was about to happen, they reached the great hall and once again found their seats near the middle of the long table Griffin Door table, Dumbledore stood up and said a few words before giving them the cue as food appeared in front of them, Harry couldn't seem to keep his eyes from the window, it seemed as though there was something out there.

 

Suddenly a big black orb appeared on the side of the room to the left of the teachers, on the side with the Griffon Door table, the students who had stopped eating to find out what was going on, were shocked as they stood up started to run away from their spots, not knowing if it was dangerous or not, though Dumbledore seemed kind of curious, still alert to what might appear from the portal and in front of their table, the portal was 3 or 4 feet away from them.

 

Energy seemed to flow around the black pit, and out of nowhere 2 figures appeared from it, one had fallen near the other. The room was filled with peoples gasps when they felt a pulsation throughout the room, the one with white hair, stood up and tilted his head a little bit as he watched them, his eyes were pools of blood red and his irises appeared and turned a neutral green, his claws grew even longer and purple markings appeared on both sides of his cheeks, on the sides of his ankles as well as his wrists, even his pure white hair seemed to be growing longer, and his fangs were very apparent now showing the whole Canine, the hole in his stomach looked even bigger now than it did before as he moved forward towards the crowd, he growled a warning as the girl behind him started to move about and gather herself up.

 

When she finally got her legs to support her weight she dusted herself off and looked at her surroundings, astounded at all the teenagers staring back at her, she turned around to find adults lined up sitting at a table, a few looked worried, others either surprised or alert, where in the world are we?!

 

Dumbledore stood up and was about to walk over and introduce himself, when Inuyasha turned around and blocked his view of Kagome, thinking that this old man could be a threat to her life, his instinct to protect Kagome was high, especially with his demon side in control, making it even stronger.

 

Dumbledore respected his actions and took a step back from them. Kagome frightened by all the unfamiliar faces, was uncertain about this place, I think it would be better if I just stay behind Inuyasha until we know its safe. Harry stood up for a better look not believing his eyes when he saw 2 triangle dog shaped ears on top of his head, his and the girls clothing weren't anymore normal than their appearance, I don't think their any sort of wizard, let alone magical creature. And they're defiantly not from around here!

 

Inuyasha bared the rest of his teeth at the crowd after Dumbledore's advances had stopped, to show that he meant it, making many of the students retreat to the back of the large room. Kagome who still stood behind him was clinging to his kimono for support, as well as to ease her fears, all of the Professors looked frightened at their unexpected guests they had in front of them.

 

Sango and the rest of the group fell out of the portals opening suddenly, they each fell on top of the person before them, Miroku not noticing who was around him, and not really caring, tried his luck and grabbed Sango's ass, her face grew angered as she stood up from the pile of her friends, and turning towards Miroku, she slapped him, hard on the face…again, all the girls started to laugh, and some of the boys did to, even Harry and Ron were laughing at the mans antics, Miroku placed his hand on his face and smiled as he let out a soft sighed as he silently cursed at himself for being so slow.

 

“Still as strong and quick as the last time I tried that *sweat drop*” He continued to rub his cheek, that was quickly showing the bright red handprint Sango had left. It was worth it though.

 

“Lecherous monk, Miroku when will you learn to keep your hands to yourself?!” Sango exclaimed as she brushed her demon slayer suit off and pick up Hiraikotsu, an angry expression appearing.

 

“When you stop being so beautiful.” Miroku smiled as she blushed, though it was only a little, making sure no one else would see, she had gotten used to controlling her blushing when Miroku pulled this kind of stuff in public.

 

“Kagome, Inuyasha you guys are alright!” Sango tried to change the subject as she had heard the giggling of the first year girls, and was not going to let Miroku get another chance to grab her ass; Kerala jumped up on her shoulder and `mewed' softly in her ear.

 

“Sango, Miroku what happened?” Kagome slowly loosened her grip on the back of Inuyasha's kimono and turned to walk to her friends, Inuyasha was still growling at Dumbledore he felt she was still in danger with all these strange people around, he felt she was safer now though with the group there, that was, until Sango started to walk towards Kagome for a hug, Inuyasha lunged at her and pushed her down, away from Kagome.

 

“Inuyasha! Why did you do th-“ Kagome cut herself off when she pulled Inuyasha around to face her, his markings had started to change into a light blue coloring, very unusual since they were always purple, they steadily getting darker, until it stopped at an almost electric shaped midnight blue coloring, his face softened as he look at her, but she could tell his demon side had come back into control again. Suddenly he turned from her and attacked a person wearing all black that had started to approach from behind, he pinned him to the ground and growled menacingly, Harry looked at Ron and they both grinned hopefully, Snape struggled to free himself from Inuyasha's clutches but to no avail, Dumbledore was about to make his way over to help him when Kagome quickly ran over and grabbed him and tried to pull him off.

 

Inuyasha had sensed this man was pure evil and didn't care what happened to anyone but him, he felt he was a threat to Kagome's safety so he took matters into his own hands, and tried to do away with the man himself, Harry and Ron were starting to like this new person, even though he was kind of scary, with the hole in his stomach facing them he looked even more deadly.

 

“If he keeps this up, maybe we wont have to worry about potion finals!” Ron whispered in Harry's ear, who in turn, let out a quiet snigger and his mouth twisted into a big grin at the thought, Hermione rolled her eyes and shook her head, boys.

 

Out of surprise at her sudden touch, Inuyasha stood whirling around to her snarling, his claws dug into her shoulder, realizing who it was he let go, his eyes saddened, and he took as step back, her blood dripping from his claws, he could not get the sent of her blood off him, his nose was full of the irony substance and it made him want to rip himself into shreds.

 

Kagome grabbed her wounded shoulder wincing in pain, making her crouch down a little, she straightened and started to walk over to him, a little smile on her face. Inuyasha moved back the more she advanced, then he stopped and looked down at the floor, catching a glimpse of the blood on his claws as he did so, “Inuyasha?…” she took another step towards him, the teachers and students were watching quietly, not daring to make a sound.

 

“Don't come any closer… I don't want to hurt you again.” He looked ashamed with himself as he said the last part.

 

She ignored him and kept her slow pace as she walked over to him, his muscles started to twitch uncontrollably, his ears wouldn't stop moving around, he wanted to, but he couldn't seem to communicate with his body that he wanted to move, stupid demon soul, I'm going to rip it to pieces, even if it didn't mean to hurt her, it did, and that is unforgivable.

 

Her eyes saddened as she tried to catch his, slowly she released her injured shoulder, “You shouldn't even be anywhere near you after what I did! Especially since I'm a half-breed, I don't even deserve to live.” his eyes flew up to meet hers and his expression turned to hurt, oh no, he had better not try killing himself, or leaving me and never coming back, thinking it's the `right' thing to do. Her smile turned into a frown and her hand came up to his cheek, lightly tracing the blue marks. Her hand withdrew and she gathered up her power and energy into it, then slapped him hard across the face, knowing it wouldn't really hurt if she didn't.

 

A few of the students winced, and felt their cheek; it had felt like they were the ones that just got slapped, not the silver haired boy in front of them.

 

“Don't even think like that, I've had enough of that nonsense, who cares who your father or mother were, that makes no difference and you should know that by now!” She looked at him ashamed that he still thought like that after all this time, with her and the rest of their party.

 

“And why the hell not, it's the truth, I may as well live up to it for the rest of my life, since I've already done so since I was 3! It only seems logical that I keep it up, for the rest of the eternity that I'm alive!” His eyes were glowing brighter red, though it seemed to get a shade lighter.

 

“And what a way to live, thinking that pedigree is the only thing that matters in life! Me and the others accept you, now why don't you try accepting yourself instead of fighting it!” she forgot about her shoulder and clenched her fist, causing pain to flow through her entire arm. Someone coughed in the background (probably Draco) but no one seemed to care, everyone's attention seemed to be locked on the group in front of them.

 

Inuyasha looked down at the floor again, hello floor, were going to be good friends, just you and me. Great now I've lost my mind totally.

 

“Yeah Inuyasha, we think of you as family, and you think of yourself as lower than dirt!” Shippo added, he cared for his adopted father very much, but what Kagome said needed to get through to him, they had to make him understand that he was more than just a Hanyou, especially to them.

 

Inuyasha's intense stare at the floor made it seem as though he was trying to burn a hole through it. His demon soul fought to gain full control again, and finally succeeding, his eyes darkened again and he looked up at the group, an evil smile appeared on his lips, as he stared at them, as though they were prey waiting to be hunted.

 

He was interrupted when the portal sent energy bolts out, sending Mikolen and Jinome flying out it, immediately they turned their attention to Inuyasha and, taking the opportunity to strike with full force. Inuyasha's demon soul reacted quickly and he pushed Kagome out of the way, she looked back from her position on the floor and found him standing behind her shielding her from the attack, his arms were crossed in front of his face. His top Kimono lay over her, while the white one still on him was shredded and he now had a bare chest, making his injury completely visible for everyone to see.

 

The two demons stood there in shock, gawking at the still alive half-breed in front of them.

 

“Will he EVER die?!” Mikolen exclaimed as he watched the two figures in front of him.

 

“I don't think so, at least, not that easily.” Jinemy looked at the pair calmly, a plan started to for in his mind.

 

He flew up to the ceiling and locked his gaze on Kagome, Inuyasha was still intently watching Mikolen, he had his chance, and flew down, grabbing Kagome, and quickly flying to one of the Great Hall's windows, about to break through it.

 

“INUYASHA!” She yelled, struggling to free herself his grip on her grew tighter the harder she struggled.

 

Something happened inside of him, Inuyasha felt something strange calling out to him, his body became loose as he felt himself being lifted up in the air, his eyes started to close as he relaxed, yet a new power flowed heavily through him, making him feel lighter and a bit dizzy, his mind went blank, he started to glow, like a golden light. His jaw started to grow longer and turned into a muzzle, his skull did the same, as his body grew long, soft, silver hair and his nails grew into sharp claws, a tail started to grow, and his legs and arms transformed, the markings on his body showed up clearly now, and made him look very powerful, one of the same markings appeared on his hip (ya know where the dogs leg comes off the body, like the first front part of the back leg near the body and such.). He stood in mid air with his eyes yet to open, his body was now a giant silver wolf like figure. He seemed to be growling, not the low human growl his hanyou body allowed, it was much deeper and menacing it sent shivers down everyone's spine.

 

Harry and the others stood astonished, Miroku, and the rest of the group ran to the back of the Great Hall where they were and also watched with amazed looks, the rest of the teachers looked at him in awe, while Dumbledore was smiling a little, but he was still on high alert in case something happened.
