Chapter 7

Kagome awoke to the sweet smell of flowers and scented candles. She opened her eyes only to be greeted by two golden ones. Kagome nearly jumped out of her skin. Inu Yasha looked down at her.

"Where are we?" Kagome couldn't help but ask.

"We're at my house." Inu Yasha got up and walked to the window. He opened the curtains and a stream of light came shining in. Kagome squinted and covered her eyes with her hand. She was still lying down on the bed. Kagome watched as Inu Yasha passed a damp piece of cloth across her forehead. Kagome grabbed his arm and held on to it as if she was trying to get him to put down a knife.

"Why do you treat me as if I am sick like a little kid? I'm fine." Kagome attempted to sit up but the pressure in her arm made her whimper in pain. She tried to not let Inu Yasha notice but to no avail.

"So much for being fine. Now let me see your arm." Inu Yasha grabbed her arm pulled it towards him as he inspected it.

"Looks like you got a gash there. Go wash it in the bathroom and then come here. Ill be right back." Inu Yasha got up and left the room. Kagome got off the bed and went to the bathroom to do as she was told. After that was done Kagome went back to the bed and sat there trying to think about why she felt like she didn't need to die. Like she didn't need to leave so that she could be with her family. She felt like other people loved her as well.

`Why is it that every time I'm around him and Sango and Miroku I feel loved just like I used to feel with my family? But… he's the only one that can make me feel like I'm really loved. Grrr… no I'm not going to give in to this. I just cant. I don't know why I just cant.' Kagome felt like breaking something. This was too much.

"Here put this on your arm." Inu Yasha walked in with some herbs for her arm. Inu Yasha sat down next to her. Kagome took the herbs and put them on her arm. Inu Yasha got up and left the room to leave her alone for a while.

"Hello?"

"Hey Miroku. Its me Yash."

"Oh hey. What's up?"

"Its Kagome. I took her out on a date and when I took her home something must have happened because moments later she's on her motorcycle driving at least 100 mph's and then she crashes into a tree and then I guess the tank on her motorcycle must have exploded `cause there was a big fire. I had to pull her out of."

"Oh man. Is she okay?"

"Yeah. But I'm a bit worried about her. Do you think that I should try and find out what's wrong or do I just leave her alone? She's really worrying me she says she's fine when I just know that something isn't right."

"Listen just talk to her try to figure out what it is. I'm going to try and get some airplane tickets so that we can go over there. At least shell feel better with Sango being there with her. Alright?"

"Yeah. All right. See ya."

Inu yasha hung up the phone and walked over to his room. He opened the door and found Kagome on her knees using her hands as pillows on the bed. Her back was facing him. That's when he noticed that she had black stains all over her body because her shirt didn't cover much. He walked over to her and grabbed her by the shoulder.

"How's your arm?" Kagome just nodded signaling that it was better.

"Good. I'm going to prepare a bath for you so you won't be so dirty in those clothes. Come on." Inu Yasha stuck out his hand so that she could get up. She took the hint and took his hand. She got up and followed him into his bathroom.

Once everything was set he turned to face her.

"Listen do you want me to go and get you some clothes at your house and bring it here?" Kagome nodded.

"Go to my house, I don't know if the door is locked or not `cause I left kind of in a hurry but if it is locked got to my neighbors house they should have the spare key when you get inside go up the stairs the last room to your left is my room. Go in there get me the shirt that's at the way end of the closet it should be the white one and get me the gray sweats that should be on top of my clean clothes pile that I just washed. Okay?" Kagome finished.

"Okay but haven't you forgotten one thing?" Kagome looked at him puzzled.

"What?" Inu Yasha kind of chuckled and then answered her question.

"Don't you want me to bring you some extra underwear?" Kagome blushed abit and then figured that she had forgotten to tell him to get those.

"Um… well… next to the pile where the sweats are there should be a drawer. Bring me my bra too okay?" Inu Yasha smiled and then left the bathroom.

Kagome got undressed and got into the tub and relaxed a bit.

When Kagome finished her bath she got out and walked towards the door. When she opened it Inu Yasha was opening the door to his room. He had clothes in his hand so that meant that he had just gotten back home. He closed the door and then turned. His face turned beet red but Kagome stayed calm.

`Wow…she's so beautiful.' Kagome was only wearing a towel around her body. Her full chest and buttocks were very noticeable so were her curves. He trailed her up and down. He stopped at a certain spot where there was a little too much flesh for him to handle. Her full chest made the towel go up so the towel didn't cover much of her legs.

Kagome walked up to him and took the clothes from his hands. She looked at his face and saw that he was paying too much attention than usual to her chest. She turned around so that he was facing her back. He was still looking her up and down watching her every move.

"AHEM!" Kagome cleared her throat. Inu Yasha turned and walked out the door.

Kagome got dressed quickly and walked out the door. Inu Yasha wasn't there. She walked down the stairs and was about to go outside for some fresh air when she felt a hand on her arm. Inu Yasha spun her around and then caught her before she fell from the sudden gesture. She had wrapped her arms around his neck for support while he held her up from the waist. They stared at each other and then were both brought back to reality when the doorbell rang. Inu Yasha unwrapped his arms from her waist and answered the door.

"Mama!" A little kid with orange hair tucked back into a ponytail and a tail came running in and jumped into Kagome's arms. Kagome pet his head.

"Shippo what are you doing here? How did you find me?" Kagome asked holding the little kitsune out in her arms.

"I could smell you here. I couldn't find you at your house and there was a trail of your scent all the way over here."

"Oh. I see you've been getting good at following your nose." Kagome laughed as Shippo joined her. Inu Yasha looked at them both and then walked up to them and tapped Kagome on her shoulder. Kagome looked at him and stopped laughing.

"Oh Shippo this is Inu Yasha. Inu Yasha this is Shippo. I found him when I was walking along a river up near Kaede's hut." Kagome explained to Inu Yasha. Shippo smiled up at Inu Yasha.

"You're not a demon nor a human what are you?" Inu Yasha's eye twitched.

`I know I'm not a full demon but does everyone have to know?' Inu Yasha said to himself. "I'm a hanyou. I am half demon and half human." Inu Yasha told the kit.

"Oh." Shippo had heard of them before but he never thought he would ever get to meat one.

"So Shippo what brings you here?" Kagome put the kit down on the floor.

"Wait." Shippo took something out of his pocket and then gave it to Kagome.

"Kaede wanted me to give you this. She wouldn't tell me what it is but she told me to deliver it to you because it was really important that you know what it says."

Kagome opened the letter and she read it. Inu Yasha looked over her shoulder and read it also…

Kagome,

It is urgent that ye come here. Something has gone wrong with the

spell that you put on the cave in the mountains. The demons that

used to work for Naraku and Kyouga have gone through. Come to

my hut and please be quick about it.

Kaede

"Inu Yasha I need you to drive me to Kaede's hut." Kagome explained to him. He quickly nodded and got his keys. Soon they were off.

Once they got to Kaede's hut in front of the mountains. Kagome got out of the car and ran into the hut. Kaede was kneeled down in front of a small fire in the middle of the hut.

"Kagome I'm glad you could make it. Sit down please." Kaede said still poking at the fire.

"I got your letter. What is wrong Kaede?" Kagome asked concerned.

"My granddaughter has been killed and then brought back from the dead by Naraku. I know that you have met him before but now he does not hang around Kyouga. He has become more powerful and is using my granddaughters body to kill. Ye must stop them before its too late." Kagome didn't waist anytime and headed for the door. Kaede didn't stop her knowing that Kagome was going to do the job one way or another.

Kagome now had something to do for the rest of the summer. She was a girl on a mission to save the world from Naraku and his dead miko that was brought back to life.

She signaled for Inu Yasha to go then she felt something tugging at her sweats. It was Shippo.

"Mama can I come?" Shippo asked her.

"No. I'm sorry Shippo but I need you to stay here. Okay?" Kagome gave Shippo a big hug.

"No I want to go with you. Please!?" Shippo looked up at her with a sad look in his eyes that Kagome couldn't help but give in.

"Alright you can come but if I tell you to do something I expect you to do it got that." Kagome's voice was soft but serious. Shippo nodded his head as he smiled brightly.

"Alright Inu Yasha I need you do to a favor for me alright?" Inu Yasha nodded. "I need you to take me to my house. I need to pack some stuff. I'm afraid I'm going to have to do a little bit of camping out here in the mountains." Kagome walked over to him and put Shippo on the ground. "Lets get going." Kagome had a serious look on her face.

They went to her house and Kagome packed food and clothes that would be suitable for this along with a first aid kit and some other things that would come in handy if something went wrong. She packed so lamps flashlights and her bow and arrow in case there was a situation where she was going to need them. She took her gun and some extra bullets. This was going to be a tough battle but the first thing she needed to do was get Naraku and his miko Kikyo to the abandoned part of Tokyo that was surrounded by mountains.

"Hey Kagome?" Inu Yasha called from downstairs.

"Yeah?" Kagome yelled from her room.

"You want me to come help you out there?" Inu Yasha asked.

"Yeah sure I need all the help I can get."

"Alright. Then are you ready to go?" Kagome came walking down the stairs caring a fairly large backpack with guns hanging from her hips that were strapped to her sweats.

"Ready!" Kagome looked at Shippo who was sitting in her family room playing video games. He had become very fond of them ever since Sota taught him how to play with the control. A memory of the past came flying into her head of when Sota and Shippo were in her family room playing Sota's PS2 that he had brought from his moms house. After that Kagome got one for every time that Shippo came over from Kaede's. Kagome wiped a tear that was forming in her eye and then called Shippo over. He walked up to her and jumped into her arms.

"Shippo I got some clothes in here for you from the last time you came over alright now lets go." Kagome walked towards the door and told Inu Yasha to open the trunk. She put the bag in the trunk and closed it. She got in the car with Shippo on her lap. They drove off. Soon they arrived at Inu Yasha's house.

"Hey Inu Yasha do you think I can borrow your bike?" Kagome asked him.

"Yeah sure but I don't know what good its gonna do you." Kagome got out of the car and got the bike. Shippo went running to her and climbed on behind her.

"Shippo go with Inu Yasha ill be fine don't worry." Kagome told Shippo. He got off reluctantly and got in the car with Inu Yasha. Inu Yasha didn't want the kit to be scared so he decided to start a conversation with the little kid.

"So how exactly did you meet Kagome?"

"I was on the mountain behind Kaede-babas hut. My parents were killed and Kagome found me there one day. After that she taught me many things. Soon she adopted me. Now she's my mama." Shippo smiled brightly at Inu Yasha.

`So that's why he calls her mama.' Inu Yasha thought to himself. Kagome appeared out of nowhere next to the car knocking on Inu Yasha's window telling him to open it.

"Inu Yasha do you have your cell?" Kagome asked, as she looked from in front of her to her right towards Inu Yasha and then back in front of her.

"Yeah. Why?" Inu Yasha asked her.

"I'm going off somewhere. Take Shippo with you and when you find a descent place for a hideout set up the tent that's in my bag. After that you can eat something and rest ill be there soon ok?"

"Alright." Inu Yasha nodded in agreement. He looked over at Shippo who was sound asleep already. He looked to his left but Kagome was already gone.

`Damn her. She left me with the kit. Now what am I supposed to do?' Inu Yasha thought to himself.

Kagome stopped in front on a house. She took a letter out of her pocket and put it on the steps. She rang the doorbell and then was off.

Someone opened the door and picked up the letter. He read it through and went inside.

Inu Yasha picked up his phone.

"Hello?"

"Inu Yasha it's me Kagome. Where did you guys stay?"

"We found a cave on a cliff. You should find it easily."

"Alright I'll be there in a sec. Bye."

A few minutes after being on the phone with him Kagome found her way to the cave and went in. There were two smaller caves inside. She went into one of them an what she saw surprised her. Inu Yasha was lying down on a queen size futon with Shippo snuggled next to him trying to get warm. Kagome noticed that Shippo gave out a shiver so she went over and covered him with the blanket. Inu Yasha stirred and then woke up. Kagome smiled down at him.

"Hey."

Inu Yasha yawned and then smiled back.

"How did you end up in this predicament? Usually Shippo doesn't really like other people but Kaede-baba and me and yet here he is snuggling next to you as if you were his father. What a sight." Kagome chuckled and went over to her pack. She took out and extra blanket and gave it to Inu Yasha so that he could put it around Shippo.

"Hey. I was going to put him to sleep in the other cave but he said he didn't want to so I let him sleep with me alright!?"

"Put this one around Shippo and you can use the other one." Kagome closed her bag and walked over to the futon after she had put on some clothes that would be comfortable to sleep. She wore shorts and an oversized T-shirt. She left her socks on and got on the futon.

"What are you gonna use?" Inu Yasha asked. Kagome hadn't really thought of that she only thought about keeping Shippo warm. Inu Yasha noticed this and held up the blanket so that she could get under it with him. Kagome blushed a bit but then agreed. She got under and as soon as she did she noticed that Inu Yasha wasn't wearing a shirt. He only had a pair of shorts on. His legs were king of cold and Kagome shivered a bit. Inu Yasha noticed this and wrapped an arm around her shoulder.

"What are you doing?" Kagome asked.

"Keeping you warm." Inu Yasha didn't expect a reply but Kagome gave it to him anyways.

"You're the one that needs to be warm not me. Your legs are freezing." Kagome exclaims. Shippo stirs next to them and then sits up. He looks over at the two next to him.

"Why are you sleeping like my parents use to?" Shippo asks innocently. Kagome blushes and then puts him on her lap. She pets him until he fell asleep. Kagome lies down with Shippo in her arms and then puts the blanket Shippo was using over all of them. Inu Yasha wrapped his arm around Kagome's waist and then snuggled close and nuzzled her hair. Soon he fell asleep.
