Chapter Two: Healing

Kagome pouted, "Father! I do not want to marry Hojou!"

"KAGOME HIGURASHI! BE SILENT!" Her father's voice boomed and echoed through the large room.

Kagome immediately fell silent and looked down not wanted to meet her father's harsh gaze. "Gomen Father. I will do whatever you think is appropriate for me."

Her father's gaze softened. "Kagome I want you to be happy but you have to get married soon or else you will be too old and we will never be able to marry you to anyone!" Her father rubbed his temples. "We will be having a banquet for you tomorrow night for your sixteenth birthday. All of your suitors will attend and you will tell me you're favourite three Kagome."

Kagome nodded then quickly left when her father dismissed her walking slowly back to her room. She almost fell over when she bumped into somebody who was running down the corridor. "Inuyasha!" She blinked a few times and noticed the forlorn look on his face. "Are you alright?"

Inuyasha nodded a little too enthusiastically for her making her hands go to her hips defiantly making her look a little snooty. "I beg to differ Inuyasha. I've known you for how many years now?" Kagome sighed loudly. "Never mind, I don't care, you never tell me anything anyways you always make up some sort of stupid lie. Besides," She pushed past him and started down the corridor to her room. "I have a patient to tend to."

As soon as Kagome was gone he punched the cold stonewall as hard as he could. "FUCK!" Grinding his hand into the rock he pulled it away to find it was bleeding. Inuyasha cursed silently his eyebrow knit tightly together as he trudged down to the servant's floor to get someone to wrap up his bloodied knuckles grumbling the whole way.

Kagome walked into her room and sat at her desk staring into the huge circular mirror. Grabbing her brush she pulled her hair out of its fancy up-do and brushed it all the while glaring at her reflection.

"If you continue to brush your hair like that girl it will fall out." A deep emotionless voice stated.

"And if you continue to call me girl you'll find yourself not able to have children Sesshoumaru." Kagome snapped back slamming her brush down on the desk causing some of the other items to land with soft thumps on the plush carpet.

Sesshoumaru smirked he could smell the girls anger it was spicy and tickled his sensitive nose. "A Hime should not have such manners. Are you sure you are one Hime-sama?" He could smell her anger flare up and barely dodged the heavy hand mirror she threw at him it hitting into the wall and shattering into a million tiny pieces. She was yelling something at him but he wasn't listening to her he had caught her scent which had abruptly changed into one of deep sorrow and despair.

Inuyasha was passing the corridor by Kagome's room when he heard a loud crash and them some yelling and then complete silence. He dashed as fast as he could ready to draw Tessaiga at a moments notice and slice his half brother into pieces. If you hurt one hair on her head Sesshoumaru you'll wish you were dying a thousands deaths instead of dealing with me.

He burst into the room and his ears twitched in anger. "KAGO…me?????" He looked at Sesshoumaru who was still in Kagome's bed regarding him in an almost insulting manner, and then to Kagome who was on the floor by her vanity desk looking at the floor. He could sense the sadness coming off her in waves and it made him shudder. He took a few steps over to her calling out her name softly. "Kagome?" No reply, she didn't even acknowledge he was there. He tried again taking a few steps closer. "Kagome-chan?" Still nothing.

Sesshoumaru watched as Inuyasha tried to talk to the girl he was worried about her he could tell without even using his heightened senses. He couldn't help but wonder why 'Hime-sama' had made her so upset, not that he cared of course. He closed his eye to leave the girl and Inuyasha to sort this out since it wasn't his problem. "What Inuyasha?"

Sesshoumaru had cracked one eye open to glare at his brother. "What do you…" He stopped when he noticed Inuyasha's eyes; they had turned from the warm amber to a deep blood red. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?!" He hissed out. Sesshoumaru decided since he was still not fully healed it would be his best interest to answer his brother. "This, Sesshoumaru called her Hime-sama. I did nothing else to her it angered her and she threw her mirror at me."

Inuyasha calmed down a bit he hadn't hurt her. Only called her 'the name' nothing else, the red faded and his eyes were back to their normal colour. He took a deep breath and moved to where Kagome was wrapping his arms around her from behind and whispering to her.

"Kagome, Kagome

Kago no naka no tori wa,

Itsu itsu deyaru.

Yoake to ban ni.

Tsuru to kame ga subetta,

Ushiro no shoumen dare."

Inuyasha finished and felt Kagome's own hands wrap around his. "Inuyasha… Inuyasha is behind me." He smiled lovingly at her when she turned to face him hugging him tightly. "Arigatou Inuyasha."

It had been a long day and Kagome was exhausted. She was in her personal spring that was in a garden just outside her room. She closed her eyes and thought about what had happened that day.

"Kagome-chan?"

"Hai Sango-chan?" Sango was her personal servant. Not that she was ever treated that way, more of a helpful friend.

Sango was a girl from a small village that had been burned to the ground by demons when she was young. All her family was killed in the fire or by the demons but somehow she escaped with her little brother Kohaku who worked in the kitchens as a chef. Everyone got them mixed up and she would sometimes send Sango to parties she didn't want to go to and they would switch places. No one every found out. They had the same dark midnight black hair, and had all the same body measurements. The only difference was their eyes, Sango's were an almost emerald green and Kagome's were blue-grey. They changed colour though, her eyes not many people knew they were a brighter blue when she was in a good mood, and more grey when she was upset or in a bad mood.

"Are you alright?"

"Hai Sango-chan just a bit stressed out you know. Long day."

She gave a small nod. "With that man you found. Hai, Kagome-chan I understand. Oh! It's time for you to get out; you should have been out a while ago." Sango handed Kagome her robe and she quickly put it on and they headed back to Kagome's room.

Sesshoumaru stayed quiet as the girl and one of her servants walked in the room. He turned away when the servant went into Kagome's closet to get a sleeping kimono for her. He could see Kagome's silhouette behind the shoji screen as she changed and realized that he would be sharing a bed with her. Sesshoumaru shifted in his spot on the bed uncomfortably as Kagome walked out from behind the screen. Her sleeping kimono didn't cover much of her skin; he gazed at her long pale legs almost greedily. The kimono wasn't much help in hiding her slim waist and shapely hips either. Sesshoumaru found himself even more uncomfortable. He after all was a youkai with needs and any male, ningen or demon would have to be a corpse not have any lustful thought about the Hime who was currently sliding into the bed having said good night to her servant. Sesshoumaru inwardly groaned and inhaled which was a VERY bad idea since he caught the Hime's scent making himself more aroused. Her scent was exotic, like flowers and vanilla, sweet and spicy but very subtle; it made for one very arousing tantalizing scent. Sesshoumaru could now she why Inuyasha spent so much of his time around the girl.

"Ano… Sesshoumaru? It's okay if I sleep here right?" She looked sleepily at him.

"Of course you may girl. It is your bed you may do what you please. Do not wake this, Sesshoumaru with your snoring." He turned away from her staring at the door trying to ignore her.

Kagome stared at his back for a moment before yawning and snuggling into her blankets. "This, Kagome does not snore." She replied tiredly and fell asleep.

Sesshoumaru turned back over to the girl and looked at her as if she were some sort of creature on display. Did she just mock this, Sesshoumaru? He didn't have much time to think about it, sleep overcame him for the second time that day and he fell into a dreamless sleep.

Chikata: Hmm I think I got everything I'm trying not to repeat words. However if I did miss something please let me know! Also.. hopefully these chapters will get progressively longer.

Inuyasha: Feh! I can't believe you haven't done MY name yet. You did Sesshoumaru's name!

Chikata: Put a sock in it Inuyasha! *whaps Inuyasha upside the head*

Inuyasha: Hey! You… you WENCH!

Chikata: *evil glare* I DO control you in this story you know.

Inuyasha: *whimpers* Hai! GOMEN!
