Inuyasha took a chair from the corner and put it next to Kagome's bed. He sat down next to her and took her hand.Sesshomaru looked at Rin. "Come on babe. Let's go to Sango's room and see if Miroku wants to go to the cafeteria and get something to eat. I'm starving and I know he probably is too."
She looked over at Inuyasha and back at her husband. "Sure, but... Should we really leave him all alone right now?" she asked in a worried tone.

Before Sesshomaru could answer Inuyasha said, "Go. I'll be fine." He never took his eyes off Kagome.

"Okay. We'll be back shortly," Sesshomaru said.
Inuyasha looked up at Sesshomaru and Rin as they left. Once they were gone he looked back down at Kagome. He lifted her hand and kissed it. His thoughts went back to the time they danced and held hands for the first time.

(Flashback)

Inuyasha turned the car around and headed in the right direction. The ride was filled with an uncomfortable silence.

They finally arrived at Kagome's building. Inuyasha immediately noticed how nice the area was.

'None too shabby, Kagome,' he thought.

He turned off the car's engine and turned to Kagome.Inuyasha sighed. "Look, I'm sorry about getting you involved back there."

"You said that you were going to tell me what was going on with you and that woman."
He looked at her coldy as his voice took on an icy tone. "I know what I said."

She looked at him like he had grown two heads. She unlocked the door and had one foot on the ground when she turned to me and said, "When you're ready to talk to me with some damn respect let me know."

Inuyasha noticed how angry she looked. And he knew that she was right. He was out of line and taking his anger out on her.As she was about to exit the car he put his hand on her shoulder to stop her from leaving. She turned to look at him, anger burning in her beautiful eyes. He looked straight into those eyes and said, "I'm sorry, Kagome. You're not the problem. What I left in the parking lot is."
She looked at me and nodded. "But if you're mean to me again I will hurt you," she said with laughter in her voice.
He laughed.

"Are you hungry?" she asked.
"Always."

"Come on up with me and I'll fix you something to eat."

"Kagome, you don't have to. I can grab a bite before I go home."
"Don't be silly. I want to and I'm hungry too."

Inuyasha thought about it for a moment. Though he didn't want to get close to this woman he found himself unable to say no. "Okay," he decided.

"Good!"

They both got out of the car. Inuyasha closed the door and walked over to her.

With amusement in her voice she said, "Now follow me sir!"

Inuyasha laughed and bowed. "Lead the way, ma'am."

She took his hand and led him into her apartment building. Inuyasha looked down at her hand holding his. He decided right then and there to fuck his previous decision. He was going to get to know her.
We headed down a courtway that had three similar buildings in it.

"This is a nice area, Kagome," Inuyasha commented.
"Thanks."

Kagome led him into the second building in the area. She used a secure code to get into the building. Once inside she got her mail and together they headed towards the elevators. When it came they got on and she pressed four.
They went to the apartment door at the end of the hall. Under the peephole it read 4-C.When she opened the door she looked back at Inuyasha and said, "Welcome to my place."
They both took off their shoes and entered. As Inuyasha stepped in he was surprised to see that it looked bigger inside than on the outside.

"Come on. Let's go to the kitchen," she said and led the way. Once they made it into the kitchen she asked, "Do you want something to drink while I fix us something to eat?"

"Sure. What do you have?"

She looked in the refrigerator. "Apple juice, orange juice, milk, water and beer." She looked over her shoulder at him with a smile.

Inuyasha's eyes were glued to her ass. She was wearing lowriders and bending over at just the right angle. He felt himself getting hard at the sight. He hadn't even heard her.
"Inuyasha?"

"Ummm...."

He looked up at her face. She just smiled at him. "What do you want to drink?" she questioned.

"Oh... Oh, beer. Beer is fine."

"I'll have one too," she decided. "Sit down."

Inuyasha sat down at the kitchen table as she got the two beers out of the refrigerator. She handed him a Corona and sat down next to him. They just sat together drinking quietly.

Finally after a couple of minutes Kagome said, "Let me get started on dinner. It's not much I'm sorry to say. Sesshomaru and Miroku cleaned me out when they were here and I haven't had a chance to go shopping yet."
"Whatever you have is fine with me," Inuyasha replied.

"Okay. Let's see what's in the cabinets."
'Damn... She's not going to bend over again. Wait! What am I thinking! Shit! I'm getting worse than that fucking hentai, Miroku!' he thought.

"Okay... Let's see... I have beef, chicken and pork ramen. What's your pleasure?"

That last word she used brought all sorts of not completely unwanted thoughts into his mind. Then he realized she had said ramen.

"You... You like ramen?" he asked shocked.
"Yes. Why?"

"No reason."

'A girl after my own heart,' Inuyasha mused. Instead he said, "Beef is fine with me."

"Okay. I'll have chicken."

She put the water on and sat down at the table again.

"Inuyasha, are you ready to tell me what happened?" she questioned tentatively.

He sighed. "Yes."

"Okay. But let's wait until the food is done." She noticed his beer bottle was almost empty. "Do you want another beer?"Inuyasha looked down at his bottle and realized there was only about an inch of beer left.

"Sure. I can use another one."
"Okay. Could you get it for me while I get the food?"
He nodded and went to the refrigerator and got two more beers. As he did that Kagome finished up the ramen and put them into bowls. She put them on the table and sat down. Inuyasha sat back down in his seat and together they ate in silence.

When they were done she put the bowls in the sink.

"I'll wash and you dry," Kagome told him.Once they were done with the dishes they took their two beers into the living room. This was definitely not the kind of apartment he was expecting. He was expecting something girly. Instead what he got was a Sony forty-two inch plasma television with a stereo sound system. It had all the latest technology. She even had a PS3! Damn!

Inuyasha sat on the blue leather couch. Kagome sat down on the matching ottoman. The coffee table seperated them. She looked at him and waited for him to start.

"Where do I start?" Inuyasha asked aloud, though the question was really aimed at himself.

"From the beginning," Kagome replied and sat back in the chair.He proceeded to tell her everything about Kikyo and the night that he found out about Naraku. Kagome just sat there and listened as he spilled his heart out. When he was done he looked in her eyes and saw no pity. Something he was eternally grateful for.

"Do you still love her?" she asked.

"I... I..." He took a deep breath. "No, I don't."

Inuyasha looked down at his watch to see that it was getting late. She said that she was going out with the others. That meant that I had to leave.

'But... I don't want to leave her,' he thought.

"I think I should be going," Inuyasha said.

Kagome sighed. "Look Inuyasha... I know you said another time, but please reconsider coming to the club with us."

"I don't know, Kagome."

Even as he said those words he knew that they weren't true. He really DID want to go. He wanted to go so that he could get to know her.

He sighed. "Okay, I'll go. But first I have to go home and change."

"YESSSS!!!!!" Kagome shouted. She blushed as she realized what she just did. "Sorry."

Inuyasha laughed hard for the first time in a long time. Once he composed himself he said, "That's all right. What club are you going to and where do you want to meet?"

"The club is called 'Blue'. And you're coming back here."

"Why am I coming back here?"

"Because we are leaving together."

"Oh. All right."

As he went to the door to put his shoes on Kagome called out, "Please be here by eighish."

"Okay. Oh... Kagome, what's your phone number?" he asked taking out his cell phone.She gave him the number and watched as he programmed it into his phone.

"All right. I will see you at eight songbird," Inuyasha said with a smile.

Kagome blushed and waved goodbye. She closed her door and locked it.
Inuyasha practically ran to the elevators. When it finally came he pressed the first floor button. Once the elevator stopped he ran to his car.

He looked at his watch. It was going to be five-thirty. He had plenty of time to shower and change.
Fifteen minutes later he was home. When he got there Miroku was just coming out of the shower. He had a towel wrapped around his waist and was drying his hair."Hey man. What's up?" Miroku asked.
"I have something I want to tell you," Inuyasha said out of breath."All right. But before you do that you have about ten messages from Kikyo on the machine."

"Okay." Inuyasha walked over to the answering machine and erased all the messages.
"Aren't you going to listen to them?" Miroku wondered.
"Nope."

"Okay then. What did you want to tell me?"

"I met Kagome."

"It's about fucking time you met her," Miroku told him sitting on the couch. "So where did you meet her?"

Inuyasha went on to explain how he heard her singing in the auditorium. He then told him about the Kikyo incident in the parking lot and how he went to Kagome's apartment. He finished with telling him that he was going clubbing with them tonight.

Miroku started laughing. "Man, you had a very good afternoon."

"Yeah, I know. I have to get ready so I can pick Kagome up," Inuyasha said heading for his bedroom to get some clean clothes.
"Hey, Sesshomaru is picking me up. Ride with us."

"Sure."

Inuyasha went into his room and closed the door. He took out his cell phone and called Kagome's apartment."Mushi, Mushi," she answered a little out of breath.

He could hear Sango and Rin talking in the backround.

"Hey. It's me, Inuyasha," Inuyasha said.

"Oh, hey Inuyasha." Suddenly she sounded a little sad. "You're not calling to cancel, are you?"

"No."

"Good! What's up?"

"Miroku just told me that Sesshomaru is going to be the designated driver. So I'll be arriving with them. Is that all right with you?"

"Sure, that's cool. I'll see you when you get here, okay?"

"Okay. Bye."

"Bye, Inuyasha."
He hung up the phone with a smile and proceeded to get ready.
