Suddenly alarms went off around Inuyasha effectively and violently bringing him back to reality. He hadn't even realized he had fallen asleep and was dreaming. He looked around in a panic and saw that Kagome was awake and her face was contorted with pain.

"Kagome?" Inuyasha said worried,

She cried out as her hand grabbed his and squeezed. Inuyasha was about to call for help in a panic when Doctor Shippo and a nurse pushed the curtain out of the way and looked down at Kagome.

"Mister Tsurubuchi, I need to ask you to step outside," Doctor Shippo said."No!"

"This is not a request!"

"I don't give a shit! This is my wife! What's wrong with her?!"

"We can't find out if you don't leave!"

Kagome tugged on Inuyasha's hand until his attention was on her. "I'll... I'll be all right," she promised.
Getting frustrated by the whole situation a nurse grabbed Inuyasha by the arm and led him out of the room.

"You're in the way. We need to work on and take care of your wife. Let the doctors see what's going on with her, okay? Just go into the waiting room down the hall and they will come and get you when they're done," the nurse said.

Though he didn't want to Inuyasha nodded and walked down to the waiting room. When he got there he didn't see anyone. He put his head in his hands and cried.He didn't know how long he stayed like that. Eventually, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He looked up to see Sango standing there with a worried expression on her face.

"What happened?" she asked.
Wiping the tears from his eyes Inuyasha said, "I don't know. I was asleep when the baby monitor's alarm went off. I looked over and Kagome and noticed that she was in pain."

She sat down next to Inuyasha and put her arm around him. She still had a bit of a headache, but it wasn't as bad as yesterday.

Sango had gotten up early and was going to check up on Kagome when she saw Inuyasha in the waiting room. She hadn't expected him to be there. When she saw him she was surprised. She was even more surprised to see him crying.

Inuyasha looked over at Sango and said, "I don't know what I'd do if I lost Kagome and the babies."

Sango glanced back at him. "Don't talk like that. Kagome is stronger than you and me combined. She will fight for the babies. Don't you dare give up on her yet."

She looked up at the clock on the waiting room wall. It was just after six in the morning."Inuyasha, I'll be right back. I have to go to my room, okay?"
He just nodded.
Sango made her way back to her room and picked up the phone by her bed. She dialed her home number.

'Please baby... Pick up,' she thought.

Finally, on the third ring, Miroku picked up the phone."Mushi, Mushi," Miroku said."Hey, it's me," Sango told him.
Miroku sat up quickly when heard the worried tone in Sango's voice."What's wrong? Are you okay?" he asked."I'm fine sweetheart. It's Kagome. Something went wrong this morning and the doctors are working on her right now."
"Where's Inuyasha?"

"He's in the waiting room. He's not holding up well. Could you get Sesshomaru and Rin to meet us in the waiting room?""Sure. We should be there within the hour, okay? Go backwith Inuyasha and try to keep him calm."
"All right. I love you. I'll see you when you get here."

"I love you too sweetheart. Bye."

They both hung up the phone at the same time.
Sango sighed and put her phone away. She got up and went back to the waiting room. She noticed that Inuyasha had not moved from his seat. She just sat next to him and put her head on his shoulder. He looked over at Sango and held her hand.

Within the hour, as promised, Sesshomaru, Rin and Miroku all showed up. When Sango saw her husband she ran to him and threw herself into his arms. She began to cry.

Sesshomaru walked up to Inuyasha and asked, "Little brother, has the doctor come out yet?"
Inuyasha shook his head.Sesshomaru led Rin to the chairs on the other side of Inuyasha. Miroku and Sango sat next to them."What the fuck is taking them so long?" Inuyasha asked no one in particular. He got up from his chair. "I'm going to see what's going on. They are taking too long and I need to see Kagome."Sesshomaru and Miroku both stood up."Wait," they said in unison."No," Inuyasha replied.
Just as Sesshomaru was about to restrain his brother Doctor Shippo came in. The doctor looked at Inuyasha and was about to explain the situation to him when he lost it.

"What the fuck took so long?! I want to see my wife NOW!!!" he yelled at the doctor."Please Inuyasha... We're all worried about Kagome. Let's hear what the doctor has to say," Sesshomaru said.
Inuyasha looked at everybody and sat down.
"Mister Tsurubuchi, because of the stress of the accident Mrs. Tsurubuchi went into premature labor."
"WHAT?!" they all cried out.

Doctor Shippo continued on. "She isn't due for another month. Also, her blood pressure went up. Not by much, but slightly. Doctor Kaede gave her some IV fluids and medications to relax the uterus and stop the contractions. She's resting comfortably now. Mister Tsurubuchi, you can go in and see her now, but only for a few minutes. Okay?"

Inuyasha walked over to Rin and kissed her forehead. "I'll let you know how she's doing," he promised her.
Rin nodded.Doctor Shipp and Inuyasha left to go to Kagome's room. When they were out of sight Rin and Sango both broke down and cried. All Sesshomaru and Miroku could do was hold their wives as they sobbed.

Inuyasha followed Doctor Shippo into Kagome's room. Her face had been cleaned of all perspiration. She had on a fresh gown and was sleeping.
Mister Tsurubuchi, as I said before she is resting and the medication is working,” Doctor Shippo informed him.Inuyasha walked over to Kagome’s bed and took her hand into his. He held it and brought it to his lips for a kiss.

“Stay with me Kagome. I need you here with me. Don’t you know that by now?” he said to his sleeping wife.

“Hmmm… Inu… Inuyasha?” Kagome whispered in a sleepy voice. “See… Everything is fine.”

“Sleep babe, okay? I’ll be right here when you wake up,” he told her and kissed her lips.
When he looked up he realized that Doctor Shippo and the nurses were gone. Inuyasha looked down at his sleeping wife. He brushed her hair back gently and rubbed her head a bit before deciding he should probably go back to the waiting room and tell everyone what happened.

Sighing he headed back to the waiting room. He walked down the hall and turned the corner that lead to his destination.

Sesshomaru looked up to see his brother heading toward him. He stood up and asked, “Well?”

“She’s resting now, but I’m going back to stay with her. You guy can all go home,” Inuyasha told them.“We’re not leaving,” Rin replied.

“That’s right,” Sesshomaru agreed.Miroku looked over at Inuyasha. “Have you eaten anything or slept?”

“I got some sleep. I didn’t eat, though,” Inuyasha responded.“You need to eat little brother,” Sesshomaru said.

“I know. But I just can’t think of food while Kagome is in so much pain.” He ran his fingers through his long black hair.

Rin walked up to her brother-in-law. “Please eat something. It’s been almost twenty-four hours. Sesshomaru can watch her. Come with me to the cafeteria and eat.” She smiled at him. “And besides, if Kagome found out you didn’t eat she would kill me.”

“Go on,” Sesshomaru urged. He then headed for Kagome’s room.

Miroku and Sango watched Sesshomaru leave.

“I’m taking Sango back to her room to lay down,” Miroku told his friends.

Inuyasha walked up to Sango and hugged her. He thanked her for staying with him before turning and following Rin to the cafeteria.

They made their way quietly through the halls. Once they reached the cafeteria Inuyasha noticed that they were still serving breakfast.
He led Rin over to a table near the cafeteria doors.“What do you want to eat Rin?” Inuyasha asked after he helped her sit down.
“I want scrambled eggs, bacon and toast. And don’t forget the tea,” she answered.“Okay.”
When Inuyasha got to the counter he picked up a tray. He decided he was going to get the same thing as Rin.Soon he had the food and returned to the table. He found Rin frowning.“What’s wrong?” he asked as he put the tray of food on the table.

“This damn cast is itching,” Rin replied. She began to scratch the top of the cast.Once he sat down he looked at Rin more closely. Kami, she and Kagome could be twins if it weren’t for the eye color. Rin’s eyes were more coffee and cream colored whereas Kagome’s were blue.He had asked Kagome about that when they first started dating. She said that she got her eye color from her father and grandfather.
Inuyasha looked down at his food. He really didn’t have an appetite so he just started to pick at his eggs.

This didn’t go unnoticed by Rin. She narrowed her eyes and said, “Cast or no cast I will kick your ass if you don’t eat.”

He looked up from his food and laughed.“Why is it that you and Kagome are always trying to cause me bodily harm?” he asked with a smile on his face.
“Because we love you,” Rin answered, taking a bite of her toast.His stomach started to growl. He looked over at Rin who just laughed.“See! I told you!” she said.

They both ate quietly as they thought about Kagome. Of course they were worried about her. They didn’t know what to expect. Would she be all right?

When they finished they went back to Kagome’’s room and found Sesshomaru looking out the window.Rin took Sesshomaru’s hand and asked, “How’s she doing?”

“She’s sleeping,” he responded.
Inuyasha sat in the chair next to Kagome’s bed and took her hand. She would be all right. She had to be all right. He wouldn’t except anything less.
