As his wife slept Inuyasha looked at his watch and noticed that it was a two minutes to midnight. He stood up and stretched his six foot one inch frame. As he did so he looked out of the window.
'Everything will be all right,' he thought.
Just then the nurse came in. She smiled at him as she went about taking Kagome's vitals and checking her baby monitor around her immensely swollen belly.
As she wrote everything down on Kagome's chart she said in a quiet voice, "Mister Tsurubuchi, it's almost midnight. Why don't you try to get some rest?
Before he could reply she pointed to the gurney that he was on earlier. She then walked over to the closet and pulled out a pillow and blanket.
Inuyasha pushed his gurney over to Kagome's bed and set it up so that it would be in a reclining position. Once that was done he climbed up and got comfortable before taking her hand again.As the nurse was leaving she whispered "I'll be back in about and hour to check on your wife again." She then dimmed the lights and made her way outside.
Inuyasha lied down on his side so that he could look over at his sleeping wife. He smiled as his mind started to wander back to the day Kagome Higurashi came into his life.
Inuyasha was on his way to class when his cell phone started to ring. He was in such a hurry that he didn't look at the caller ID. He picked up the phone and said, "Hello?"
"Inu-Baby?" the voice said.
'Fuck! Fuck! It's the bitch!' Inuyasha thought.
He sighed. "Why the fuck do you keep bothering me, Kikyo?"
"I'm sorry Inu-Baby. I'm sorry about not telling you that I had a boyfriend. Please, can we meet somewhere and talk?" she asked.
"Don't you get it?! WE ARE THROUGH! Leave me the fuck alone and stop calling me!" he yelled into the phone.
Inuyasha hit the end button and terminated the call.
'So, now I have to pay for a new cell phone number. Stupid bitch! She's STILL costing me money,' he thought.
As he continued to walk to class he passed the auditorium. That's when he heard the most beautifully amazing voice he’d ever had the pleasure to hear.
He stopped walking and tried to sneak a peek inside the auditorium by looking inside the small square windows on top of the double doors. Unfortunately the room was too dark to see into. So, he finally decided to open the doors to catch a glimpse of whoever was singing with such a melodic voice.
Inuyasha opened the auditorium doors ever so slightly and peeked inside.
There standing on the stage was a woman singing. He wanted to get a closer look. So, very quietly, he slipped inside and sat down way in the back. He forgot all about his next class.
As he sat down he couldn’t keep his eyes off her while she continued to sing.

The woman singing on stage had long wavy hair that went to the small of her back. She was tanned, not most Japanese women were that dark.
‘That girl is gorgeous!’ Inuyasha mused. ‘She looks familiar too.’
Inuyasha continued to listen to her sing. Her voice was pulling him in as his heart started to beat faster.

Inuyasha was so mesmerized by her that he didn’t even realize that she had stopped and was looking at him. She offered him a smile.
The next thing he knew she was walking towards him. What caught him by surprise was what she said when she reached him.
Once she was in front of him she said, “Hello Inuyasha. Did you like my song?”
Trying to hide his surprise Inuyasha asked, “How… How do you know my name? Better yet, what’s your name?”
She giggled with that perfect voice of hers.“To answer your questions; one, you look like your brother and two my name is Kagome Higurashi,” Kagome answered.
"So you're Rin's cousin. I thought you looked similar to her. Sesshomaru told me that you transferred here."
Inuyasha looked down at his watch and realized he just missed his last class. He looked back up at the woman before him and said, "You have a beautiful voice."Kagome smiled at him. "Thanks."
"Well, since I missed my last class I guess I should head back home."
As he was about to turn to leave Kagome said, "Inuyasha?"
He turned his attention back to her. "Yes?"
"Would you like to get a cup of coffee with me? I mean since you obviously don't have another class right now I thought it would be fun."
"Not today. Maybe some other time."
Kagome's face fell a little. "Oh, okay." She perked up slightly before saying, "You know... We're all going out to dinner and then to some club Miroku found."
"Like I said... Some other time,"Inuyasha replied coldly.
As he turned to leave he saw the sadness in her blue eyes. He felt bad, but he just couldn't right now.
Once Inuyasha had left the auditorium he made his way across the campus to the parking lot. He was stopped by someone calling his name.
'I recognize that voice,' he thought. He suddenly was able to place the voice. 'Kikyo! It's Kikyo! Now what the fuck does she want?!'
Inuyasha sighed in annoyance as he saw Kikyo running up to him. He crossed his arms and asked, "What do you want?"
"I thought we could go somewhere and talk about last night," she said.
"Bitch, what the hell do we have to talk about?! You cheated on me and you use me for money!" he yelled.
Crossing her arms Kikyo looked around. There were a fair ammount of students and faculty around them.
"Can you please keep your voice down? And stop cursing at me! I'm none of those things," she told him.
"Stop being one and I'll stop calling you one," he retorted.
"Look Inuyasha-" Kikyo began.
"No! You look! WE ARE THROUGH!" he yelled in her face, cutting her off. "Stop calling me and leaving me messages. Stop texting me and following me. Shit, just leave me alone you stupid bitch!"
Tears started to form in her eyes."Shit, tears don't become you. Save them for your boyfriend, Naraku," he said.
She started to sniff.
"Why are you doing this to us?" she asked."Listen to me very carefully, Kikyo! There is no US. Can't you get it?! I don't want to be with you! Most of all I fucking HATE you!"
Just then she grabbed Inuyasha by his collar and kissed him. He pushed her away. He spit on the ground and wiped his mouth in obvious disgust.
"You still taste like a bitch," he informed her.
Kikyo gave him a resounding slap that echoed through the parking lot. As soon as she did it she immediately regretted it. She put a her hand over her mouth in surprised. She knew she'd gone too far.
"You need to leave me alone! NOW!" Inuyasha yelled.
"I'm sorry, Inuyasha. I didn't mean to do that."
Just as Inuyasha was about to say something Kagome came into view. He watched her from where he was. Kikyo saw that his interest in her had waivered and followed his line of vision to see who he was looking at.
Inuyasha smiled as an idea formed in his head. He hoped that Kagome would play along. he promised himself that he would explain everything to her later.Kagome walked up to him and asked, "I'm sorry to bother you Inuyasha, but can you give me a ride home?" She didn't seem to realize that Kikyo was standing there.
"Sure, sweetheart," Inuyasha responded.
Kagome gave him a funny look, but didn't say anything."Who are you?" Kikyo asked with an attitude.
'Boy, does she ever look pissed,' Inuyasha thought.
"I'm-" Kagome started to say.
"She's with me and we're leaving," Inuyasha said.
He took Kagome's hand and walked her towards his car. He opened the door and let her in."We're not done yet, Inuyasha! Remember, I'm your girlfriend!" Kikyo yelled.
"You're dead to me Kikyo! I told you, WE ARE OVER!" Inuyasha yelled back.
He got in the car and shut the door to block out the rest of Kikyo's screams. He locked the doors so she couldn't open them and start in with him again.
'Poor Kagome... She doesn't even know what happened. I will explain it to her when we get to her apartment building," he thought."Inuyasha?" Kagome called out to him.
"Yeah?"
"Could you tell me what that was all about back there?" she asked.
"Look Kagome... I will explain everything to you when we get to your apartment, okay?"
"Okay." She was quite as he started the car. Then she said, "Inuyasha?"
"Yes?" Inuyasha wondered as he started to get a little annoyed.
"You're going the wrong way."
"Oh... Sorry. What's your address?"
Kagome told him the address. He turned around and headed in the right direction.
