InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Void ❯ Say Please ( Chapter 5 )
A/N: Hey everyone!
Sorry the updates have been slow lately!
Been really busy with my other stories and shit in my life.
Lol, anyway, I think we’re actually getting somewhere in this chapter (though I’m not sure where) so that’s a good thing. ^_^
oooooooooh - (Lol, did I get the right number of o’s?) KK, I’ll try! Hopefully this is soon enough for you though! ^_^
-Tryst/Punishment of the Inu - Lol, yep Sesshomru is arrogant isn’t he? And I guess Inuyasha is a bit infatuated... Though hopefully I’m not making him into too much of a lovesick puppy. I just want the possibility open for the time being, but neither actually really putting too much thought into it. After all, they are mortal enemies aren’t they? Even if they only just met now. ^_^ -- I actually haven’t decided if Inu Taisho and Izayoi will be making appearances. Maybe, I don’t know... We’ll just have to see whatever works. ^_^
-inuyashaloverr - Lol, thanks! A lot of people have told me before that I have a style all my own, but I don’t actually think they meant it as a compliment. ^_^ -- That is a good question. How can two dark haired and eyed people (one being a spider the other a human) produce a dog-eared silver haired hanyou? Lol, well maybe hanyou’s really are just major exceptions to the rules. ^_^ That, and I didn’t really want to take away any of Inuyasha’s features... Dog-ears especially. ^_^ -- You were wondering about the other pairings? What were you wondering about? -- And yep, this is mostly supposed to be an angst fic, but hopefully a ray of light is going to show up sooner or later. Probably later though, considering how things are going and how much I like to torture poor inu. ^_^
Well that’s about it... Oh, except, I suppose I better put up a disclaimer..
DISCLAIMER - I don’t own Inuyasha or any of the other characters from the anime/manga. Yet. We’re still working on that. ^_^ ~*~ Say Please
Inuyasha’s eyes narrowed in suspicions.
The demon-- this Sesshomaru guy-- had gone unusually quiet ever since he had drawn his sword.
It was disturbing.
He didn’t like it.
Most of his opponents looked slightly awestruck at the sight of Tetssaiga. Either that, or they smirked at him, not recognising the blade for it’s power. Or Inuyasha for that matter. Not that he could really give a rat’s ass to the amount of competence they possessed-- it was their funeral, after all, not his.
But Sesshomaru had just gone very still and silent, staring at Inuyasha and his katana as if... well, almost as if he recognised it.
And, if he didn’t know better, he’d say the sword recognised Sesshomaru as well-- that is, if the erratic pulsing of the hilt against his hand was anything to go on. But that was only if he didn’t know better.
He frowned and mentally shook himself: he didn’t have time for this! He had come here with one goal in mind: To find and destroy the dog-lord of the western lands.
He’d completed the first part of his task, now he just needed to wind scar this demon’s as and he could be on his way...
‘Hey, demon, you gonna fight me, or just stand there gawking at my sword all day?’ He demanded, letting a cocky tone slip into his voice that he knew sent most of his enemies further into anger, and, often, made them underestimate him as simple.
It was a cheap strategy, maybe, but in the game of life and death, anything you could think of was fair play.
And it worked here too. Well, to a point.
It drew Sesshomaru’s attention back to him at least.
Big mistake there.
In a flash too quick for him to see Sesshomaru was upon him, clawed hand at his throat, dangling him several inches above the ground, and making Inuyasha’s ears pop at the sudden lack of air.
Inuyasha choked, his eyes widening in his surprise at his new and unexpected position. It had been ages since anyone had been able to get the better of him.
Still, despite that fact, he was not completely untrained in this sort of position, having faced it several times when he was younger and weaker, and even more times with his father at any given day.
He brought his own hand up to claw at the demon’s in what they both knew to be a fairly futile attempt to escape the inevitable.
But the inevitable did not come.
Instead, Sesshomaru narrowed his cold golden eyes in a glare that would chill the insides of even the strongest youkai, his hand tightening warningly around the hanyou’s throat, further suffocating him in his grasp as he watched the other dangerously.
‘Where did you get that sword, half-breed?’ He demanded of the choking being.
Inuyasha’s eyes widened, his ears perking slightly, before flattening against his skull as he fixed Sesshomaru with a glare of his own, his claws still scraping violently at the now bleeding hand-- his scratches not stopping long enough to give the demon’s youki powers enough time to heal.
Sesshomaru, seeming to realise that the half-breed had no possible chance of answering his question with the force he had on the boy’s throat, and he loosened his grip just enough to give the other room to breathe and speak.
Inuyasha made a strange wheezing sound as air suddenly shot back into his lungs, making his mind spin slightly with the force of it, even as Sesshomaru fixed him with another of those gazes of his, waiting for the hanyou to give him an answer.
And the answer he received was not one he liked. At all.
Inuyasha’s lips pulled back in a sneer, revealing his elongated canines that, by all rights, a half-spider youkai shouldn’t have, those ridiculous ears of his flattening against his head. ‘Fuck you!’ He all but shouted at Sesshomaru, with an insolence Sesshomaru had never before encountered, before swinging his claws up and slicing them savagely across the Daiyoukai’s face.
Sesshomaru barely turned in time to avoid loosing an eye.
The jutsu was surprisingly unexpected and, irritatingly enough, caught Sesshomaru almost entirely off guard, causing his grip on the hanyou to wane as he felt the claws slice across and into his flesh.
Inuyasha wriggled free, dropping to the ground in a crouch, before doing a swift back-flip away from his assailant, putting some distance between them as he landed on his feet, Tetsusaiga poised at the ready once again in front of him.
A cocky and challenging smirk graced his face as Sesshomaru turned slowly forward to face him once again, the hanyou’s eyes trailing over the four long gashes that now adorned the youkai’s face that were already striving to mesh together once again.
‘Heh.’ Inuyasha said, cracking his bloodied fingers as he stared down at his opponent, each tensing imperceptibly and bracing for the other‘s attack. ‘You seem awfully interested in my sword for a guy I’ve never met before.’
Inuyasha’s smirk suddenly slid off his face, his eyes hardening, turning his mask to a familiar one of stone as he all but shouted ‘So why don’t I give you a closer look!’ Before charging at Sesshomaru, swinging his sword down and slicing through... nothing.
By the time Tetsusaiga had swung enough to reach where Sesshomaru was, the youkai was no longer there.
He looked over just in time for his face to get close up and personal with one of Sesshomaru’s fists.
He flew back several feet, pain shooting through his jaw, his feet digging harshly into the barely-yielding earth to stop and keep himself upright as he looked over at the youkai before him. Shit. This guy was fast!
Brute-Strength was nice and all, but it didn’t mean a damn thing if you couldn’t get close enough fast enough to land a blow.
Sesshomaru turned slowly to face him, his expression stoic, but his aura radiating danger as he slowly began to speak again.
‘I asked you once already, half-breed. Do not make me repeat myself again.’ His voice was deadly and cold, and his eyes even more so. ‘Where did you get that sword?’
‘Feh.’ Inuyasha snorted, pointing Tetsusaiga at the youkai, his smirk back in place, though now it was edged with the promise of death. ‘At least say “please” before you start demanding things of someone.’ He said, before hauling Tetsusaiga back and slashing it down, shouting out “Wind Scar!” For all the world to hear.
The earth trembled as the winds clashed together in a confused manner, ripped apart again as the bolts of golden light shot toward Sesshomaru.
A blinding flash of gold appeared just as the light was about to connect, and then a great spiral of wind and dust rose up around him, blocking the scene from Inuyasha’s view.
The hanyou covered his nose with his sleeve and compressed his ears, watching and waiting, until, at last, it had finally died down. Sesshomaru was no longer there.
“Keh, that was too easy.’ Inuyasha said, slightly disappointed. He had been hoping that that demon might’ve lasted a bit longer. It was nice to have a challenge every once in a while.
He sighed, raising Tetsusaiga to rest across his shoulders.
‘Well I guess that’s over with.’ He said to no one and nothing in particular.
And he had not been expecting an answer to that comment, so was terribly surprised when he received one.
‘Only if you are conceding defeat.’ A familiar and cold voice said from somewhere above and behind him, and Inuyasha spun around to see Sesshomaru hovering several feet above him in the air. Dammit all! The fucking dog could fly! How the hell could a fucking dog fly? And why hadn’t his father warned him of this...
Inuyasha shoved those thoughts away, snarling angrily, both at himself and Sesshomaru: This wasn’t the time to be thinking about where or how the other demon had gotten it’s powers for all hell’s sake!
Sesshomaru’s eyes flashed dangerously at the defiant sound.
‘I have given you the chance to tell me willingly, half-breed, but, if you truly wish me to us force, then I would gladly do so. But I warn you now, I will not hold back.’
‘By all means...’ Inuyasha said, aiming Tetsusaiga once again. ‘Do your worst.’
Sesshomaru did not bother to grace him with a reply, instead hovering for a moment, before shooting forward, poison hissing from under his claws as he slashed them down too quickly to block across the hanyou’s torso, returning the boy’s earlier action. Unfortunately, even though Inuyasha did manage to turn and take the blow mostly with the side of his chest, he could not stop the poison as it hissed angrily and acidic green drops and vapour flew up and into his eyes, blinding him, while the rest moved to fester in his new wound, preventing it from closing.
Inuyasha stumbled slightly with a cry, frantically rubbing at his eyes as the foreign pain rushed through his being.
He tensed suddenly as he remembered Sesshomaru, and froze up, silent as the grave, his ears and nose twitching as he strained to catch some clue of the youkai, but coming up empty.
The poison had somehow dulled his sesnes, and he didn’t feel the presence come up behind him until a sudden sharp pain hit his neck and his vision cracked in a violent and incredibly loud flash of white, like lightening off a mountain cliff, before fading to darkness as the world around him disappeared from each of his remaining senses, leaving nothing but the void of unconsciousness.
Sesshomaru lifted Tokijin’s hilt away from the half-breed, ignoring the blood now adorning it and he sheathed it again at his side, staring down at the fallen figure before him in distaste.
That had been more than a little too simple for his liking.
Just when he was beginning to believe the half-breed had some sense about him, too.
He supposed the smart thing to do would have been to decapitate the boy right then and there, but he did not.
He still wanted answers, and only the hanyou could give them to him.
Like why and how the half-breed had managed to unlock the fabled Wind Scar when he himself could not even grasp or wield the blade.
Glancing again at the fallen figure at his feet, Sesshomaru, his glacier mask wavering, slowly removed his mokomoko-sama from about his shoulders, wrapping the limp hanyou up in it, before moving to give the sword similar treatment (not missing how it pulsed warningly when he grasped it-- even through the fur), taking extra care with the blade since he was familiar with the consequences if he touched it, beforem holding both wrapped (or rather confined) against his chest, Sesshomaru lifted off into the air, heading back toward his own lands and castle. ~*~
Glossary
Youkai - Demon
Youki - A demon’s “spiritual” energy.
Hanyou - Half-Demon
Daiyoukai - Either this or Taiyoukai mean Great Demon
Jutsu - Attack
Mokomoko-sama - The fur Sesshomaru carries with him everywhere. As far as I know, this is the only actual title out there for it (though why it gets the respect of having a “sama” at the end of it’s name is beyond me ^_^) ~*~
A/N: Hm. Well that didn’t turn out anything like I expected.
Hopefully it still works though... ^_^
