Lunch
Disclaimer:… Still don't own him guys, If you can't figure that out by now then you need help…
Kagome opened the small café doors letting Kin run inside first. He stopped by the front desk looking around. His ears made a twitch to the side and his smile grew bigger if possible.
“ANT RIN!” He cried running straight toward her. Rin smiled and got out of her seat so she could fully scoop him up in a big hug.
“Hey! How are you? How you are so big I can barely hold you anymore!” Rin said happily. “Hi Kagome, how are you this morning?”
“Fine, I got up a little earlier then I wanted to but I'm doing good. How about you?”
“OH man I have been so busy in Highschool.” She sighed setting Kin down in the chair next to hers and sitting down herself.
“You're in Highschool already?” Kagome gasped.
“Yeah I'm a junior.” She replied proudly.
“I can't believe it! Seems like only yesturday I was babysitting you.” Kagome reminisced.
“Yeah I know. Anyway I'm so glad we got to have this lunch today.”
“Yes well, I figured I should come and relax before I had to go look for a job.” Kagome sighed heavily.
“I thought you already had one…”
“Yeah well I'm going to need at least another one maybe two. I'm afraid I'm a little low on cash.” She laughed nervously.
“How low?”
“OH not that much I just get paranoid you know. We have plenty in the bank but it won't last forever…” `Enough that I'm going to need to sell my car and start taking the bus.' She thought to herself. Even with the money Inuyasha left she was still pretty low. “It's no biggie, we will be fine, so how is Highscool life?”
“Very chaotic. A lot of drama too.” She added at the end.
“Yeah, I remember. How are you doing though?”
“Good! Father won't allow me to get anything but A's.”
“That sound like Sesshomaru. Does he treat you good?”
“Of course! He's a really great father. Even from the day he found me outside his home and took me in I knew he would be. It's odd, like we have our own little bond on the inside, almost like a secret no one else knows about. He seems rough and like the kind that would spank a kid for getting a B but he's really good with it. He always finds time to help me with my homework and teach me anything else I'm not learning, he is really very nice. I like it best when he suddenly interrupts my studies to tell me we are going out to dinner or lunch. Although my dating life has been tough…”
“Why would you say that? You're a beautiful girl with a great personality that any guy would love!”
“Yes well I'm afraid it isn't me that has been scaring them off.” Kagome laughed with Rin at the implication.
“Hello ladies can I get you anything to drink?” The young waitress asked.
“Oh yes I will have a sprite, thanks.” Rin replied taking the menu handed to her.
“Ok and for you?” The waitress asked loking at Kagome.
“Oh, I'll have a coke and what do you want Kin?”
“Cock!” Rin and the waitress' eyes widened considerably looking at Kin. Kagome smacked her forehead.
“Sorry, he means coke….” The waitress nodded dumbly and walked away. Kagome had her head in her hands as her face turned red. Rin suddenly laughed. Kagome looked up at her, cheeks slightly tinted pink. “Its not funny! Kin you can't say that word. It's bad. Say Coke.”
“Coke.” He repeated.
“Very good. You want some crackers?” Kin nodded and Kagome opened a few packs and handed him the food which he happily took. The girl came back with the drinks setting them down.
“Ready to order?”
“Not yet I'm afraid.” Kagome replied.
“Ok, just let me know.” She smiled and walked off to wait another table.
“This will be a great story to tell Inuyasha tomorrow at the wedding.” Rin laughed, then suddenly remembered her error. “Oh Kagome I'm so sorry I didn't mean to blurt that out. I'm sorry!” She repeated frantically.
“It's ok! Really! I'm sure he'd love to hear it. In fact it might remind him a little bit about himself.” Kagome joked.
“It probably would.” Rin looked down at the little being next to her that was pulling on the sleeve of her white blouse. “Yes?”
“Is daddy gonna come for lunch?” He asked hopefully. Rin looked at him sadly.
“No. He's busy.” She replied and his lit face faded.
“Oh.” He said going back to his crackers.
“So, I'm guessing you haven't you know…”
“No I haven't. I don't know how to quite yet... I will soon though, you know, since the day is tomorrow.” Kagome looked down sadly at her drink.
“I'm sorry it came to this Kagome, believe me I thought you and him were going to be forever! No one rooted for you more then I did.” Kagome smiled a little.
“Well I'm sure Kikyo is nice…” She looked up seeing Rin shake her head.
“I don't like her. She seems so snobby. I can't believe Grandpa chose her of all people. Well I guess that because Naraku is an old friend of his and helped him with the gambling thing…” Rin trailed off thoughtfully.
“Gambling thing?” Rin gasped looking up at her repeated words.
“Oh my god! I shouldn't have said that! I'm not even supposed to know! I read an email on daddies computer! Please don't tell him! I'll be in such trouble!” Rin begged.
“I won't, but what gambling problem?” Kagome asked curiously.
“Well you see, that's the reason grandpa is forcing this marriage. You see, he is about $200 million in debt to Naraku from a game and he can't get out of it. Naraku made a deal to merge the businesses and he'd forget the debt, but if not, well you see Sesshomaru never truly adopted me and Naraku threatened to take me away, and since you and Inuyasha never married, he was planning on taking Kin as well…” Kagome gasped.
“W-What?” She asked horrified.
“He didn't tell anyone except Sesshomaru, and Sesshomaru was worried about him. He's been under so much stress and lying so much he has begun to even lie to himself. At least that what father wrote in the email.”
“But, your father never had memory problems before, and he never kept secrets from his family, why would he now?” Kagome wondered out loud.
“That's the other thing, you see about four years ago he was in the hospital, Naraku took him there after he had passed out from drinking too much and hitting his head.” Kagome soaked it all up.
“Something doesn't seem right…” She pondered out loud. The rest of the meal went smoothly, the subject was dropped and became about Kin, after awhile Rin realized she had to get back to work, and the three went their own ways. “Did you have fun?” Kagome asked buckling Kin into the car seat.
“YEAH!” He cried happily clapping his hands.
“Good.” Kagome smiled as she finished buckling him in. She couldn't get Rin's words out of her mind, something was missing from it. Even as she drove, Kin singing along to the Wiggles (-_- If I had another band I would chose it. I dislike the wiggles, I find them annoying. Sorry If I have offended the Wiggles fans out there!). Kagome decided to drive Kin over to Sango's house hoping she would be there to babysit Kin. Work had called earlier and she needed to be there until about midnight. They arrived outside the nice little house, and Kagome helped Kin out letting him run up to the front door and ring the bell. She could hear Sango's voice at the door as she hugged him. Kagome shut the door to the car and walked up after him.
“Kagome! Nice to see you!” Sango said happily.
“Nice to see you too, can I come in for a little while?”
“Yeah sure! Come on in!” Sango greeted letting her inside. Kin was already in and playing with Kirara on the floor. “Can I get you anything?”
“No thank yOOOOUUUU!” She squealed jumping forward, then spinning around quickly landing a good slap on the poor pervert who had dare to fondle her ass once again.
“MIROKU!” Sango and Kagome scolded.
“Forgive me, I couldn't help myself.” He replied innocently rubbing his face.
“You should! You're going to the wedding tomorrow!” Sango gasped and slapped a hand over her mouth turning to Kagome. “Oh I am so sorry!” She replied earnestly.
“It's okay. Are you both going tomorrow?” Sango turned a bright red as the pervert put his arm around her shoulders and another on her belly.
“I shall be going, but I am afraid my lovely Sango here will not.” He replied al too happily.
“I shall be going, but I am afraid my lovely Sango here will not.” He replied al too happily.
“Why not?” Kagome asked slightly confused.
“Well, you see Kagome…uhh I'm kind pregnant…” Kagome's face brightened as she looked down at Sango's belly which was still as small as ever.
“Oh my god! Congrats! I can't believe it!” She said happily.
“I know!” Sango laughed.
“That's great! I'm so happy for you both!”
“Thanks, so what brought you here?” Miroku asked.
“Oh yeah! Right! Work needs me tonight till midnight so I was going to see if you wouldn't mind taking him tonight till tomorrow afternoon?”
“Sure, I wouldn't mind. We still have his clothes and stuff here so you don't have to go get his stuff.” Sango replied.
“Good. I'm afraid after work I am going down town to a club that I found in the paper this morning. I applied awhile ago and they just called me, they wanted to interview me for a job as a waitress.”
“Really, what club?” Miroku asked. You name it he knew it. Quite sad actually.
“Um, Destiny.” Silence hit the room.
“…Kagome, Destiny is a strippers club…”
“Yeah I know, but it pays well, and I'm low on cash.” She replied uncomfortably.
“Why don't you let us loan you some money?” Sango offered.
“No, I will be fine really. I'm just working as a server nothing more I promise. Besides it's walking distance from my apartment.” The coupled sighed.
“Well if that's how you feel then ok, but remember you can stay with us whenever you need to.” Sango replied hugging her friend.
“I know.” She replied looking at the clock. “ Oh I have to go! Shift starts in an hour! Bye and thanks! Kin, come here and give mommy a hug.” Kin ran over to his mom hugging her and giving her a quick kiss. “Bye baby.” She said ruffling his hair as she walked out to her car. Kin watched her go down the street from inside. He couldn't understand what was this “wedding” thing and what had it to do with his dad? Why was his mom so upset today? Like when he found her crying on the floor of the kitchen. True she tried to hide it from him, but he still saw it. It was there. He didn't know whether to love this man he knew as daddie or be mad at him for making his mom sad.
