The entire hall was filled with hundreds of people sitting squished in the pews. Most of the women wore red gowns, contrasting with the men's white tuxes. It was like looking into a giant sea of boiled lobsters. A growling came from the stomach of one who was peering out of the curtain. Inuyasha closed the curtain and patted his stomach. He was defiantly hungry. On the menu, fried Naraku with a dash of Kikyo.
“Hey are we gonna start this thing or what?” He mumbled impatiently.
“Of course! Just be patient.” His father snapped back. Inuyasha mocked him, mouthing his words and looked out again. Oh yeah this would be good. A light presence come on his shoulder causing Inuyasha to jerk.
“Yo, ring barer, you're supposed to be in the back of the church runt!”
“Keh, I was, until Kikyo threw me out saying I was going to go up with you!” Shippo said angrily.
“Probably because she doesn't want a DEMON walking up the aisle other than her father.” Inuyasha sneered.
“Ok guys, go out and take your places.” His father ushered.
“Gladly.” Inuyasha smirked cracking his knuckles then straightening up so he could act the part. The bitch would pay. He walked out onto the level before the stairs, followed by Shippo who would stand in front of him for awhile, and his brother, who would stand next to him on his left. His father and mother sat down in the first pew surrounded by fellow demon and human friends. Inuyasha's stomach gave another unhappy noise.
“Inuyasha, if you blow this up before it's supposed to I will kill you AND your son.” Sesshomaru threatened.
“Keh, whatever.” The loud music blared signaling the start of the wedding. The back doors swung open to reveal a line of women all dressed in black. That was a nice choice for a wedding, not! But it didn't matter. Inuyasha's thoughts carried him to Kagome as the girls started their walk.
*****FB*****
It was autumn, the leaves crunched as they walked on them, hand in hand. Kagome was all bundled up in jeans and a black leather jacket, HIS black leather jacket. After another few blocks Inuyasha took his hand from hers wrapping it around her shoulders instead and giving her a kiss as they got to the park. They walked across the dead grass as they went over to the park bench right in front of the small pond. They sat down, Inuyasha's arm never leaving its spot. Kagome leaned her head over on his shoulder as he pulled her crossed legs over his, stroking her thigh lovingly.
“I can't believe it's fall already.” Kagome sighed.
“Yeah. School will start soon.” Inuyasha agreed.
“That reminds me, you're going to college this year. Are you going to Tokyo U?” Inuyasha winced a little before looking down at her. She felt his shift and looked up.
“Sorry babe, my father wants me to go overseas. I meant to tell you sooner but I didn't know how.” Kagome settled back down to hid her tears.
“How long will you be gone?”
“Four years.” He could feel her tense even more as saline hit his nose. He laid his cheek on top of her head, his thumb still stroking her thigh and shoulder. There was a long silence before he spoke. “Do you know what I will do the moment I come back?” He felt her head shake. He leaned down next to her ear. “I'm going to whisk you away and make you my wife.” He whispered smiling. He pulled away as she looked up suddenly. His eyes were so full of truth she couldn't help but smile.
“Id like that.” She whispered back hugging him. For the rest of the day they sat there, not speaking, just holding eachother. Every so often a passing person could see the young lovers, kiss.
*************
The music gave another loud beat, signaling the bride. Inuyasha snapped out of memory straightening his jacket.
“Let the show begin.” Sesshomaru whispered only loud enough for Inuyasha to hear. Kikyo walked up the long aisle on her father's arm, waving to everyone and blowing kisses like she had just won a grammy. He didn't see this though, for in his mind, it was her. His angel, Kagome. She was walking down the aisle in his mother's gown, smiling lovingly at him as she did. The world disappeared between them, only to be brought back when he realized this wasn't her. Kikyo was looking up at him expectantly, smiling brightly.
“Are you ready?” Her sickly sweet voice sounded.
“You have no idea.” He replied smiling as he took her hand, leading her up the stairs towards the alter. They stopped bowing their heads to the father who bowed back. The church went silent.
“Dear friends, we are here to join this couple in holy matrimony. Both wish to keep it short and sweet, so let us get on with it. Kikyo, by the church of Tokyo, I bless you, and wish you all the happiness in the world with this man. Inuyasha you wished to say your own words sir?” Kikyo turned confusedly to him, along with her father.
“Yes thank you father.” He said clearing his throat and turning to face her.
“We didn't decide on this!” Kikyo whispered urgently looking toward the people smiling.
“I decided this on my own today. Kikyo, my fiancé, dearest….” He started, speaking loudly. “…You came into my world only a few years ago, and it was only until today I could tell you my feelings.” Half were in aw, the other were expecting what was to come since they knew Inuyasha. “Which is why I refuse to marry you.” Kikyo gasped looking at her father.
“You better clear this up quickly Tashio.” Naraku warned.
“Oh believe me I will.” He replied standing. “You may arrest them gentlemen.” Police stepped forward arresting the two.
“Wait you can't do this! On what grounds?” Naraku cried.
“Stealing and black mail, and that's just the start seeing as you two are wanted in 3 other countries. Have fun in jail.” Sesshomaru said simply nodding his head to have the men taken out.
“I'll get you back for this Tashio! I swear!” Naraku howled as they dragged them both out. Cameras flashed everywhere.
“Luck with that.” Inuyasha smirked.
“Your attention!” Inu no Tashio said into a mic. “The wedding is postponed and will reconvene in two hours. The guests of the Tashio pack may stay, guests of Naraku are free to leave. For those staying the wedding will continue at 2:30 sharp. Help yourself to the snacks in the back. Thank you.” He gave the mic to a miscellaneous man who came by and gathered with Inuyasha and the other men.
“How far did you get fluffy?” Inuyasha asked.
“I called Sango, she is working out the details with Rin as we speak, there's only a few things missing.”
“Not many.” Miroku said coming up. “Sango and Rin have the new brides maid dresses, the ones left from your side will stay, they are now talking to the DJ and getting their wedding gifts.”
“What about the dress and the ring?”
“Covered.” Miroku informed the Hanyou handing him the dress, dry cleaned and in a box. “And the ring…” He stepped aside showing a little boy dressed in a small tux holding a pillow.
“DADDY!” Kin cried happily leaping into his father's arms. Inuyasha bent picking him up and whirling him around happily.
“Hey kiddo, miss me?” He asked.
“Yeah, Uncle Miro say hold piwwow an….” He stopped holding up a silver ring. “…he toll me gif you vis.” It was the ring he had officially proposed to Kagome with, just before he left. Small platinum band with a small pink heart and two diamond baggets on either side.
“Thanks buddy.” Inuyasha looked over at his dad who looked happily at his grandson. “Here.” He said handing Kin to him. “Stay with Grandpa, Daddy is gonna go get mommy.” He said kissing him on the forehead. “You guys take care of the rest.” He grunted picking up the dress. “I gotta go get the bride.” He smiled starting off.
“Hey pup!” His father called.
“Yeah?” He asked turning around.
“I'm proud of you.” Funny how just a little sentence made this hanyou so happy.
“Thanks.” Inuyasha turned running off. He shoved the box back into the backseat of the car, making sure he had the ring in hand. There was something he was forgetting… Oh yeah….
~~~~
Inuyasha walked back into the church where Miroku stood smugly with his arms crossed.
“Forget something?”
“…Yeah, I forgot to ask you where Kagome was…”
After finding out from Miroku, and feeling really stupid for not asking before he was on his way to her house…apartment….WHATEVER! She wouldn't be living there much longer anyways so what did it matter? His car broke every law coming over to her house, including the law of gravity. He growled in annoyance when he had to put his roof up because it started to rain. Of course putting up a top on the freeway at 90 MPH isn't that great of an idea, but somehow he managed to get it up un harmed. His tires screeched as he pulled into a vacant space in front of the complex. It was already pouring outside and he didn't want the box ruined so it was going to stay in the car. He all but ripped off his tie and undid the first few buttons of his shirt before getting out into the downpour. He bounded up the stairs, a goofy smile never leaving his lips. He knocked on the door and waited. Nothing. He knocked again, but still got the same answer.
“Are you looking for Kagome?” An older voice asked behind him.
“Yes. Is she here?”
“I'm afraid not. She seemed awful distressed about something and left awhile ago. Poor dear.” The elderly lady said behind him.
“Do you know where she might have gone?”
“No. I'm sorry.” Inuyasha's ears drooped.
“Thanks.” He said before running back down the stairs.
“I hope you find her!” She called after him. He opened the front door to the complex and looked around. Her car was still here. So where could she be? `The old lady said she was upset. Where did Kagome always like top go when she was upset? THE PARK!' He remembered her once telling him that her father used to take her to the gazebo there whenever she or he had had a bad day. Why couldn't he remember before? And so with that thought, he raced toward the park praying that's where she was.
A/N: Ok I know at least one of you out there are like OMG WHY ASK FOR THAT MANY REVIEWS?!? THAT'S SUCH A TURN OFF! Here is my reasoning: Most of the time people don't review, so I don't get a lot of encouragement and I don't know how many people out there ARE reading. However, that isn't really why. When I ask for 14 reviews, then I check about every 3 hours to see how many people review so I know how much time I have left. I asked for that so I had a deadline set by the people who read this. Still same, I want 14 reviews then I'll update ok? So at….*does math* 66. Still looking for challenges if anyone has any and I am coming up with new Ideas everyday for stories so, I guess we shall have to see. Thanks guys! OH and one more thing, anyone ever read Heather G.'s A Pirates Pleasure? I might have to do a remake of that in Inuyasha style. Great story. Ok signing off now!
