Romantic Reception

Inuyasha: Nothing, get on with the story already!

Inuyasha carried Kagome once again into the reception hall. A huge balloon structure hung over the dance floor stretching out like a roof over it with four legs. The dance hall was like the wedding, all decorated in red, white, and black. Several flower arrangements with a candle in the middle were at each round table, which there were several. Crystal glasses were at each place along with a white plate, silver ware, and either black tablecloths with red napkins or reverse. There was a longer, rectangular table at the center of the room across from the dance floor specially arranged for the family of the bride and groom. The tablecloth on it was white with red napkins and black plates. Everything else was the same, including the gold chairs with red seats. In the middle of the family table, where the two chosen seats were, there was a single silver goblet. On the far wall, close to the entrance, was a table with a mixed color tablecloth for gifts. Inuyasha set her down just inside the door.

“Wow…” Kagome gasped in awe. “…This is amazing, I didn't see it like this.”

“Yeah, they finished it just this morning.” He told her, grabbing her hand and kissing it. “The guests will be here soon, meaning lots of questions and lots of hands to shake I'm afraid.”

“I think I can handle it, you'll stay close to me won't you?” He looked down lovingly at her.

“My dear, you shall never get rid of me.”

“I would never want to.” She replied. He took that moment to brush his lips against hers passionately.

“I told you we should have stuck the kid with them just to be sure they would keep it PG rated.” Inuyasha's father laughed as he walked up with Izayoi on his arm, Kin holding her hand, and Sesshomaru walking next to his father.

“She's all mine now I can do whatever I want.” Inuyasha replied moving behind her and wrapping his arms across her chest while he rested his chin on her shoulder. Inuyasha looked down at Kin. “Hey kiddo. You make it through that boring wedding?”

“Inuyasha.” Kagome scolded, but Kin nodded.

“Good, now comes the fun part. We get to eat and have a big party.” Inuyasha said excitedly making Kagome giggle.

“Is parry fo me?” He asked poking himself in the chest.

“Well for you mommy and me yeah.” Kagome could feel him shrug.

“Mommy can I take off now?” Kin whined tugging at his jacket.

“Here, come `ere sport.” Inuyasha said leaving Kagome and crouching by Kin. He took off Kin's jacket leaving his vest, and undid the top button loosening the tie enough to not bother him so much and still hide the fact the top button was undone. “There, better?” He asked and Kin nodded happily.

“Fanks daddy!”

“Welcome kiddo.” He said patting his head and getting up. He heard Kin make a small whine noise and looked down ears perked up. Kin had his hands stretched up towards him in a silent `hold me' gesture. He smiled and picked Kin up, who laid his head on his father's shoulder. Of course being a happy grandmother, Izayoi grandly ruined the moment snapping a pic. The two boys looked at her, ears perked, and heads cocked in an instant.

“Oh sorry, don't mind me.” She said putting back her camera. Everyone else just laughed or in Sesshomaru's case smirked. It was a little later then that the guests started to arrive, and once they started they never seemed to stop. Inuyasha, Kagome, her grandfather, her brother, in fact all of the family stood in one line leading into the grand ballroom they had rented at one of the most expensive and luxurious hotels in the greater Tokyo area. Kagome shook each and every hand of the visitors sharing a few words. When most of them were in the room and sitting down waiting for the food to be served, they walked in to take their seats. Inuyasha held Kagome's hand as they walked in with the rest of the family. Each seat had a name card on the table for each of the guests and one table was left unmarked for any last minute guests. Sango, Kagome's grandfather, Souta, and Rin replaced four of the bridesmaids that Kikyo had chosen, Kin was brought a booster chair on the left of Kagome between her and her grandfather, and Kagome took Kikyo's place. They all sat down, of course the men pulling out the chairs for their women. Unfortunately one man decided to do more then pull out the chair and gained himself a smack on the cheek. Sango sat down angrily as Miroku rubbed his cheek happily. Inuyasha set Kin in his booster seat after pushing in Kagome, tickling him a little before turning to Kagome and kissing her on the cheek.

He sat down next to her setting his hand on top of hers that was resting on the table. The waiters went around filing drinks, which didn't take long since there were three per table of about ten. Once drinks were poured, and a sippy cup given to Kin, Inu no Tashio stood up tapping a glass for attention.

“Thank you all for coming and I apologize for the delay. Before begin the meal, which I'm sure we are all waiting for, a toast!” He said lifting his glass toward his youngest son and his bride, everyone else following. “To the married couple. May they live happily forever.”

“To the couple!” They repeated lifting their glass as Kagome and Inuyasha raised theirs together. Inuyasha let her take the first sip before he took his and laughed kissing her once again. Inuyasha looked over to see Kin reaching for his glass, which was placed kinda far on the table. He reached across scooting it closer to him which Kin took happily and drank from it. Inuyasha smiled at him, his arm around Kagome. They both looked at each other smiling. The waiters sprang to life at the sound of a short sweet bell delivering the plates of food. The main course was a choice of either grilled salmon with a delicious lemon-butter sauce served with asparagus and rice pilaf, or baked chicken marsala with broccoli and cheese and dirty rice, or grilled steak either medium, medium-rare, or rare, steamed mixed veggies, and a baked potato. Of course they offered vegetarian meals to anyone who wanted it, but most of the guests were demon and therefore loved meat, especially rare meat. Kagome and Kin got the salmon along with Sango and Souta. Everyone else with the exception of the Tashio boys got chicken, the boys got steak rare. Kagome actually didn't mind it, she preferred it medium rare however. Kagome chatted with her grandfather, occasionally feeling Inuyasha squeezing her hand, as she helped Kin eat. She didn't make him eat the asparagus though because she herself didn't even like it.

“So how is the shrine doing grandpa?” She asked between bites.

“The same, we are getting a few more visitors now, and Souta has been helping quite a bit.” He said cutting his chicken into a bit sized piece.

“And Buyo?” Kagome asked wiping Kin's face from all the sauce he had on it.

“Still alive and kickin, getting fatter everyday.” He chuckled with Kagome.

“How is Souta doing in school?” She asked. He was busy talking to Rin who was about her age.

“Good. His grades are impeccable and he has himself a girlfriend. I forget the name… Nice girl though, from what I hear. He hasn't brought her home yet.” He replied sipping his water.

“Hmm, well he probably doesn't want you to meet her before he' s sure you won't scare her” She laughed.

“I never scare anyone.” He pouted. A small tug came on his sleeve.

“Gampa, can I go see you shine?” He asked.

“Why sure you can little one, you and mommy are welcome anytime.” He said ruffling his hair making Kin giggle. Kagome smiled and looked down at her food playing with it happily. That was how Inuyasha saw her. He didn't even have to ask her anything to know what was on her mind. He gently patted her thigh lovingly causing her to look up at him questioningly. His smile told her he had seen the smile and he was happy she was happy. She smiled in return giving him a chaste kiss on the lips.

Once the dinner was cleared it came to the dreaded part, dancing and just plain partying (sarcasm ppl). Finger foods were set out to keep the guests happy and a small wet bar was opened in the back. The table of gifts was piled to the top and even some on the bottom. A large DJ stand controlled the beat. Some spotlights that were neon colored flew across the dance floor as the lights dimmed. Kagome came back after taking off most of the under dressings of her dress that made it poofy so it wasn't as big and awkward as before.

“Hey guys, lets get the bride and groom out here for the traditional first dance.” The DJ announced as Inuyasha led her out to the middle of the room with many applauding. “This song was picked out by Inuyasha dedicated to Kagome.” He inserted a disc, clicked a few buttons, and the lights turned red and soft pink. Inuyasha grabbed her shaking hands and pulled them around his neck, she hated to do anything with everyone staring.

“Don't be nervous Kagome, no one is watching you but me.” He whispered wrapping his arms around her lower back. They slowly danced to the start of the slow music. He leaned his head down to her shoulder holding her close.

Inuyasha slowly swayed with Kagome listening to the lyrics of the song. She knew why he had picked it now.

Kagome smiled so happily tucked into his shoulder breathing in his intoxicating scent of sandalwood, soap, and spice. Truly interesting and wild. She always loved it. With the chorus he sang along sweetly in her ear, his voice like pure seduction to the soul.

Inuyasha slowly looked at Kagome pulling back a little, stopping their feet. She blushed lightly as he leaned in softly pressing against her lips with his own. She knew then more then any other time, He loved her. Truly her and no one else.

Oh I do

Slowly the couple snapped out of it and bowed to the applause. Sango clapped as she walked back to the dance floor next to Kagome with Miroku a knowing grin on her face.

“What?” Kagome asked as she looked at her suspiciously.

“Nothing.” She replied innocently.

“This song is for all couples dedicated to Kagome from Sango.” The Dj announced loudly and all the couples came onto the dance floor.

Ladies up in here tonight

Everyone screamed loudly as Kagome and Sango laughed.

Kagome went close to Inuyasha raising her hands up in the air to dance with him as she swayed to the music. Inuyasha both hands on her hips as he sang along like Miroku did to Sango.

Kagome sang moving with the beat and grabbing Inuyasha's shoulder and pulling him closer as they danced to the beat both wishing they could grind easier like Miroku and Sango now did, but neither wanted to do that, especially with this dress. But that doesn't mean their gaze wasn't heated.

Kagome continued to sing only now her back facing him holding his hands around her waist, as they swayed with the music. Inuyasha mixed it up twirling her around almost tango style, spinning her around and dipping her.

She just danced not trying the next part. Her Spanish accenting was not its best.

They both laughed as it ended and he dipped her to playfully ravage her neck.

“Ok guys, this is for everyone, the groupies of the wedding in the front, straight line please.” Everyone did as the DJ asked. Kin came running up to his mom who picked him up and kissed him allowing Yash to ruffle his hair. Kagome set him down as the music started.

“Kin follow me ok?” Kagome asked bending down a little.

Kagome showed him the movements and her caught on surprisingly well.

Everyone enjoyed the rest of the party, dancing and having fun. The one group that was on the dance floor most though had to be the newbie family. Kin, Kagome, and Inuyasha. Sango and the rest of the girls danced merrily to Man I feel like a woman, Kin and Inuyasha had shared a dance to the YMCA among others, most in which he spun him around, Kagome, danced with her grandfather, brother, Inu no Tashio, and she even chanced one with the letch. Now it was winding down leading to the cutting of the cake. Kagome and down the bouquet toss, Sango ironically catching it and now Kagome sat on a chair in the middle of the room as Inuyasha walked over. The guys whistled as he chuckled walking over and bending down in front of her. Kagome squirmed nervously as he seductively took off her shoe and lifted her dress over her knee to retrieve this scrap of cloth. Kagome had thought he would be totally unwilling to do this but he had almost insisted saying that he wanted to give it to them as a teaser to say `Ha look what I have and you don't'. He took it off easily dragging his nails softly against her thigh as he did making her shiver. His eyes snapped up smugly. She glared back the best she could after being semi shaken by how good that had felt. He slowly slipped her shoe back down and her dress as well before holding his hand out to her to help her up. She gladly took it allowing him to help her up. He wrapped a hand around her waist as he turned back around throwing it back then returning to see who had caught it. Who else then Miroku? The man had a drawer full of these. Inuyasha and Kagome laughed as they looked at the gloating man and held onto each other. After the cutting of the cake, Inuyasha gently fed her the cake popping a little on her nose. She laughed and took a piece holding it up to his mouth before smearing it in his face. He laughed holding up a napkin and wiping his mouth. Cameras snapped merrily as the two cut the first slice and gave it to Kin who smiled happily and dove into his cake with his fork awkwardly in his hand. Everyone sat down happily with a piece of cake that the butlers finished cutting and handing out. Kagome and Inuyasha laughed as they fed each other with their forks every now and then. Kagome laughed as he popped more of the sweet treat in her mouth.

“Mmmm all this cake is gonna give me a high.” He smiled nuzzling the side of her face again.

“Good you're going to need it.” He growled licking her throat with his soft tongue making Kagome shiver.

“What about Kin?” She asked flushing.

“ He's staying with my parents in another room.” He explained. “Some of the guests, our family included will be staying in the hotel, I however, reserved a private cottage in the back for us.” He nipped at her ear as she blushed even deeper.

“W-why?” She asked shakily.

“Because if I remember right…” He nipped the dent just under her ear. “… You're a screamer.” He chuckled a little as she pulled back thoroughly embarrassed.

“I was not!” She cried hands on her cheeks.

“Oh but my dear…” He took her hand kissing and sucking it. “…You most defiantly were. Don't worry, by the time I'm done with you, you won't be able to move much less speak.” He grinned smugly making her blush even worse if possible.

“Mom you kay? You face weally wed.” Kin asked pointing to her face.

“I'm fine!” She replied burying her face in her hands.

“Hey, came to tell you nice tomato impression Kagome, it would take a real dummy not to figure out what he was saying to you.” Sango laughed crouching next to her chair.

“Shut up!” Kagome said inside her hands.

“Oh poor Kags looks like a Macintosh.” Miroku sympathized. “You'd think she was a virgin again or something.” Kagome groaned in her hands.

“Leave me alone.”

“Okay, we wanted to tell you, we were going up to our suite so we will see you tomorrow.” Sango said hugging her friend who stopped blushing.

“Are you tired? It's only…is it really almost eleven already?”

“Yeah, see ya tomorrow.” Miroku said putting and arm around Sango. “Hopefully.” He added smirking. Her blush came back but not as bad as before.

“Ha ha, at the rate you're going you will never turn back to normal.” Inuyasha laughed.

“It's your fault!” She cried as her grandfather and brother came up.

“Hey, we are going to go up to our room now.” Her brother announced.

“Already?” She whined.

“I'm not as young as I used to be. I would like to take young Kin if you don't mind, he seems rather tired anyway.” Her grandfather asked looking at Kin whose head was drooping.

“Sure, I'll go up with you-“ Inuyasha put a hand on her shoulder.

“I'll do it, you stay and talk to father, he told me earlier he wanted to talk to you.” Kagome nodded getting up with help of his hand. She plucked Kin out of his chair and kissed him on the forehead brushing his bangs away. “Hey baby, daddy is gonna take you upstairs to go sleep with Grandpa okay?” He nodded sleepily. “Alright. Love you.” She kissed him again as she handed him over.

“Love too.” He mumbled as Inuyasha took him. Kagome handed him the bag for Kin that he slung over his shoulder.

“See you in a bit.” He said softly kissing her on the cheek.

“Okay.” She whispered back as he turned to follow her grandfather chatting away. Kin's eyes opened on his shoulder and he raised his hand in a sign language Y as his other hand popped a thumb in his mouth. Kagome blew a kiss and made the `I love you' sign in sign language. It was close to a Y, which was a closed fist, the thumb and pinkie sticking out. I love you was exactly the same except the pointer finger also stood up. Kagome sighed as they left and turned around to find Sir Tashio. He was chatting with some demons in the corner. She walked up slowly and stood next to him. They laughed at whatever it was they were talking about. He noticed her waiting patiently and smiled putting an arm around her.

“Do you need something?” He asked sweetly rubbing her bare shoulder.

“Yes, Inuyasha said you wanted to talk to me?”

“Oh right! Excuse us gentlemen.” They excused them happily as he led them outside of the hall and into the gardens in the back. Sakura blossoms bloomed under the full moon sparkling pink, a few petals falling with the wind. A small stone path wove around them on the lush green grass and over to a bridge on a man built stream. A few seats sat under the trees contentedly and a few flowers blossomed amidst it all in vibrant reds, yellows, and whites. The moon reflected on the small waterfall near the building. A few lights lighted the paths. “Come walk with me please?” He asked nicely stepping onto the path. Kagome nodded, picking up all of the dress so it wouldn't get ruined. They walked slowly along the zig zagging path toward the bridge. “Such a beautiful night.” Inu no Tashio whispered to the sky.

“Indeed.” Kagome agreed smiling at the moon.

“Kagome?”

“Yes?”

“I wanted to talk to you about tonight.” He started as Kagome tinted pink again. “Oh no, not about that exactly. That is Inuyasha's department to talk to you about that later. Right now I wanted to talk about you and Inuyasha.”

“What about us?” Kagome asked, worry laced in her voice.

“Oh nothing like that dear.” He assured her. “I wanted to tell you how great you two looked tonight.”

“Oh thank you.” Kagome replied softly as they stepped on the bridge stopping in the middle.

“I know the arrangement I planned prior had made life hell for you, and for that I am truly sorry.” He said regretfully.

“It doesn't matter now. Besides you wouldn't be human if you didn't make mistakes.”

“You forget I'm not human.” He laughed.

“Well demon. The point is you are a person and people make mistakes, its all part of life. What's done is done, now we move on with life.”

“Yes, I suppose that is right.” He smiled. “I know this may sound weird to you, but I am very happy my son chose you.” Kagome looked up at him as he leaned on the rail of the wooden platform. “Before you came along my son ALWAYS wore that damned bandanna, and concealing spells to hide his ears. Not to mention the women that came in and out by the dozens. Just when I was giving hope he met you. I am forever grateful to you.” He said sincerely.

“Why? I didn't-“

“You did. You may not realize it, but you helped him. You were the only one who saw him as a person, like you saw me tonight. You gave him your love and a place to call home. No matter what I did, he never felt happy, until you came. You can see it when he looks at you.” He looked down at her in a loving father kind of way. “He loves you Kagome, he's found his home, where he belongs. Your father would be very proud.” Kagome choked looking up with tears in her eyes.

“You-you think so?” He smiled and hugged her.

“I know so.” He whispered. She softly cried. She truly missed her father. They both heard Inuyasha come into the courtyard calling her name. She pulled back sniffing and clearing her eyes before turning to see him standing by the door. “Go to him my dear. I know you will take good care of my little Inu.” She turned around gratefully toward him.

“I will.” She promised hugging him quickly before picking up her dress and running to him. `No matter what happens, I will always love him. Not till death, no.' She thought running into his arms. `No, much longer then even that.' She thought as she leaned up to kiss him. `Much much longer.'

A/N: Sorry guys I know I said I would update sooner but 1, I forgot Halloween was the next day, 2, OMFG why are ppl so dumb?!?! (major Friend issues) 3, I had NO internet all week, 4, lyrics are a pain in the butt with NO internet, and 5, I made it longer then usual. Ok wedding night is next chapter. Not making any promises seeing as the friend drama is still going on -_- But I will tell you reviews…positive ones….make me want to write faster so if u think u can just at least give me one review I will try to get the next chappie up soon.
