Chapter 5

 

“Hm, that is quit a story. You said you fell into the well?”

 

“Yes ma'am.”

 

“Could I see that bead that you found?”

 

“Um, sure but why?” Ami asked taking the bead out of her pocket and handing it to the woman

 

“Oh my! Ami this isn't a bead!”

 

“No, it is a shard.”

 

“A shard of what?”

 

“A shard of the Shikon no Tama.”

 

“The Jewel of Four Souls, right?”

 

“Yes, how do you know about the jewel?”

 

“I have researched about a powerful jewel from Japan, but never new the name of it. I don't know how I knew that. Weird.”

 

Just then Kagome ran into the hut.

 

“Keade have you…Ami!? Oh thank goodness you are ok!” Kagome said running to her new friend

 

“Have I what?” Keade asked

 

“Nothing, I was going to ask if you have seen Ami. Why did you leave like that? You could have been hurt, or worse even killed! Knock on wood.” Kagome yelled at her

 

“You know, I'm not stupid. I can take care of myself!” Ami yelled back

 

“I never said that you were stupid. I just knew you didn't know your way around here. And I guess I got frightened for your well being. I'm sorry that I yelled at you.”

 

“It's ok. I'm sorry that I yelled to. I am also sorry about leaving like that. But changing the subject now, do you know where I can take a bath? I feel rather…hw can I put it…yuck.”

 

“I sure do.”

 

“Good, do you want to wait on Sango?”

 

“Sure, why don't you go ahead and get your stuff. We will meet her on the way.”

 

“Why aren't they here yet?”

 

“I think that I lost them on the way here. I don't know how, but I guess it was because I was so worried about you. It's weird, I never knew I could run that fast.”

 

“Oh…”

 

“Don't worry about it. Come on lets go.”

 

“Ok.”

 

They walked into the woods and had been walking for a few minutes until Kagome's curiosity got the best of her.

 

“So, do you know anything else about the others?” kagome asked, trying not to look too interested.

 

“Sure do.”

 

“Really! Like what?”

 

“Um, Miroku's wind tunnel, it will end up sucking him in if Naraku isn't destroyed. Naraku first put the wind tunnel on his grandfather. Um, I know that Naraku, and other demons destroyed Sango's village. Um, her brother Kohaku is under Naraku's control. Um, Kikyo penned Inuyasha to the scared tree. Naraku had disguised himself to look like Inuyasha. He stole the Jewel of Four souls, and he killed Kikyo. All while he was in Inuyasha's form.”

 

“Wow, that is a lot of personal information that you know, and you really read all of this?”

 

“Sure did, except I never believed any of it. I thought that it was all just made-up.”

 

“I guess this is a rude awakening, huh?

 

“It sure is.”

 

“So, do you know anything else about Inuyasha?” Kagome asked almost in a whisper

 

“I do, but I don't think now is the time to talk about it.”

 

“Why not?”

 

“Because here comes Inuyasha and the others.” Ami said pointing

 

“Oh, good idea then.”

 

They didn't notice that they had stopped walking.

 

“Hey guys!” Kagome said waving her hands above her head, “I found Ami. She was at Keade's.”

 

“Are you ok?” Sango asked

 

“Yeah, why wouldn't I be?”

 

“Kagome I didn't know you could run that fast.” Shippo said

 

“Neither did I” Kagome said, “I guess it was because I was worried if Ami was ok or not.”

 

“Well, since we found Sango, onward to the bath.” Ami said pointing her finger straight and walking off, then stopped and looked at Kagome and Sango and said, “It might be better if one of you two lead the way.”

 

“Yeah I think so too.” Kagome said with a laugh

 

“Yea I get to go to right Kagome?” Shippo asked.

 

“Well if it is ok wit Ami, then I don't care.” Kagome answered

 

“I am sorry but I don't think so. I thought we could go alone and talk.” Ami said trying to make-up an excuse.

 

“Well Shippo you can't come this time. It is for girls only. Maybe next time you can go.' Kagome said

 

“Aw, but that isn't fair!” Shippo whined.

 

“Yes it is. You don't always need to go with me. You are getting a little too old to always be glued to me. Just stay here with Inuyasha and Miroku. They will take care if you.” Kagome said

 

“So I get stuck with the brat. Joy.” Inuyasha complained

 

“Well, we will meet you guys back at Keade's. See you all in a little bit.” Kagome said as they made their separate way.

 

They made their way to the springs and slipped in.

 

“Ah, this feels good,”Sango said

 

“It sure does'” Kagome agreed.

 

“So, Ami what is it like in America?” Kagome asked.

 

“Well, where I live it is big, but near as bi as Tokyo is. You have your houses, shopping centers, and fast food joints, the nice restaurants. There are even places that you can go to and eat an authentic Japanese style meal.”

 

“Oh, that sounds interesting. So, what made you come to Japan in the first place?? Kagome asked

 

“Well, my little sister Alex has a pen pal in Nagoya, her name is Yuri. Yuri offered to have us over during summer holiday. So we came and visited. Well since we were in Japan, I decided to let leave my sister with her friend and come and tour Tokyo for the last two weeks of our stay. Who'd of figure that I would end up here in this time. I am starting to think that it was meant for me to be here.”

 

“Oh, wow, I think that it is cool that your sister has a friend over here.” Sango said.

 

“Yeah, she is really into the Japanese culture, even more than I am.”
