Chapter Four

 

That night Ami couldn't sleep. She got up and grabbed her key chain, turned on her pocket flashlight, and ventured out into the woods. After a while of walking she soon bumped into somebody.

 

“What are you doing out here by yourself? You don't even know your way around this place, plus you don't even have any kind of defenses that you could use if something attacked you.”

 

“Inuyasha?”

 

“Yes, now lets get you back to camp before you get even more lost.”

 

“Whoever said I was lost? I can get back to camp all on my own thank you. I never asked for your help. Just because I am not from around here doesn't make me stupid. Gosh I can find my way around just find with out you! GR!” Ami snapped.

 

Ami turned around and started to make her way back to the campsite.

 

“Here let me show you the way back.” Inuyasha said trying to be nice.

 

“NO! I can do it on my own. Now leave me alone!”

 

Inuyasha backed down and let go her on her own. But he decided to just follow her and make sure that she got back safe. To his surprise she made it back just on her own like she said she could. He was pretty impress.

 

Ami found her spot she was at and fell asleep. In the middle of the night she felt like some one was hovering above her. She opened her eyes to see that Miroku was the one doing the hovering. Without even thinking she grabbed her pepper spray from her pocket.

 

“PERVERT GET AWAY FROM ME!!!!” Ami yelled as she sprayed the monk in to his eyes.

 

“AH! My eyes, they burn! I am going blind! NO!” Miroku screamed in pain

 

“What is going on?” Sango asked

 

“Ami sprayed my eyes with something!” Miroku cried as he rubbed his eyes

 

“ I am so sorry Miroku I didn't think before I sprayed you in your eyes. I woke up to you leaning over me and it just came so natural to me. Again I am so sorry.” Ami said apologetically

 

“Well what did you spray him with?” Sango asked

 

“It was pepper spray. His eyes will burn for a little bit and they will be red as well.”

 

“Sango, help Miroku to the river to help him flush his eyes.” Kagome said

 

“Ok, come on Miroku, little steps…” Sango said as she leads him into the woods

 

“I so didn't mean to do that. I mean it just comes second nature to me. I really didn't mean to do that.” Ami said pleading to Kagome

 

“You don't have to apologize. He deserved it. He was probably going to wake you up and ask you to bear his child or something like that. So no need to worry, I mean you were just defending yourself.” Kagome said

 

“I guess you are right.”

 

“I thought it was kind of funny. Miroku cried like a little girl.” Shippo said.

 

~~~~~~In the woods

“Miroku, could I ask a question?” Sango asked

 

“Sure”

 

“Just what were you doing near Ami while she was sleeping?”

 

“I was just, uh, checking on her.”

 

“You were going to try to grope her weren't you?”

 

“No, I promise I wasn't”

 

“Here we go, we are at the stream.” With that said she shoved the monk into the water

 

“Hey, what was that for?”

 

“What, I can't help that you tripped into the stream.”

 

“Well since I am in here, would you like to join me?” Miroku said splashing water at Sango

 

“Not even in your dreams monk. Come on so we can get back.”

 

“Fine, but you know your no fun.”

 

They had arrived back only to discover that the new girl was gone.

 

“Kagome, um where is Ami?” Sango asked

 

“She is over there asleep.” Kagome said pointing

 

“No she isn't.” Sango said

 

“What do you mean?” Kagome asked sitting up

 

“I mean she is gone. As in not here anymore.”

 

“Oh no! Inuyasha where are you?” Kagome screamed

 

They heard a noise coming form a tree. Apparently Inuyasha had dozed off.

 

`Wow, she is good. She got past Inuyasha with out even waking him up.' Sango thought

 

“Inuyasha wake up!” Kagome yelled but still got no answer.

 

That's it.” Kagome said, “Inuyasha, I'm sorry about this but, Sit.”

 

Inuyasha fell from the tree, and slammed into the ground. After a few minutes the spell wore off.

 

“What the hell was that for?” Inuyasha asked

 

“I'm sorry but you wouldn't wake up. It's about Ami.”

 

“What about her? And you couldn't think of a more subtle way of waking me up?”

 

“Again I am sorry about the `S' word. But anyways back to Ami, she is missing.”

 

“What do you mean she is missing? And I guess I can accept your apology.”

 

“I mean she isn't here. As in gone, her stuff isn't here. She ran off.”

 

They started towards the village in hope that somebody might have seen her.

 

*****Ami's pov******

 

`That's it. I am going to find my own way back.' Ami thought `It might be for the best, I will wait until the commotion calms down.'

 

Ami waited for a while until she was sure that the remaining party was asleep. She got her stuff together and left. She had been walking for a few hours until she cam upon a village. She saw an elderly woman outside of a hut. Ami decided to go up to her and ask for directions.

 

“Um, excuse me ma'am, but can you tell me where the Bone eaters well is at?”

 

“Why do you want to know? And more importantly who are you?”

 

“Oh, how rude of me. My name is Ami. I need to find the well to get back home. So, you are Ms.?”

 

“My name is Keade. So why do you need the well to get back home child?”

 

“Well, it is kind of a very long story.”

 

“I've got time. So, come on in and tell me all about.”

 

Ami followed Keade into the hut, and started to tell Keade the story. She told why she came to Japan, what had happened to her, and why she had left the people she was with.
