Jaxon woke up to the sound of birds chirping. It had been a few days since the encounter with Inu-Yasha and she was getting restless. The two-headed dragon had landed somewhere in the forest and they were still taking refuge in caves. She sighed and sat up.

Jaxon undid the bandage from around her ankle. It was healing very quickly and she was checking it every day. At the rate it was healing, she could probably walk on it within the next few days.

"Jaxon, look what Sesshoumaru-sama brought me," Rin said as she ran over to her and showed off her new dress-like clothing.

"It's very nice, Rin."

Jaxon had come to like Rin. She had talked to Rin and found out that she voluntarily followed Sesshoumaru. Rin had told her the story about how Sesshoumaru brought her back to life with his sword the Tenseiga. Jaxon had listened quietly to the story and accepted the reason why Rin stayed with Sesshoumaru. After a few minutes of talking, Jakken walked into the cave and up to them.

"Rin, Lord Sesshoumaru wants you to follow me. We're going back to the castle."

Rin smiled and ran past Jakken. He quickly followed after her yelling as he went. Jaxon felt sorry for Jakken. He always had to deal with Rin, who was very energetic and headstrong.

Jaxon stood up and kept her weight on her uninjured foot. She gently began to put pressure on her other foot. It didn't hurt as much as it did the day before. She took a few steps before the pain started to get to her and then she sat down.

"When will you learn, Woman?"

She looked up to see Sesshoumaru standing in the entrance of the cave.

"What is it that I need to learn?" she asked knowing full well what he was going to say.

"Hn, you obviously do not want your ankle to heal because you keep standing on it."

"Of course, I want it to heal. I'm just testing to see how well it's healing."

Jaxon laughed when she saw him frown. Teasing her captor had become a daily routine for her. It made her feel like she had some semblance of control.

"I suggest you let if finish healing before you injure it any further," He said as he walked up to her.

He picked her up and carried her out of the cave. Jaxon was used to being carried around by him. After a few minutes, she looked to see a lake.

"Wow, it's beautiful."

"Rin and Jakken told me you were complaining of being unclean. Bathe," he commanded as he put her down.

"Go over there. You don't need to see anymore of me than you already have."

Sesshoumaru simply turned his back.

"Get in the water, Woman. I have no reason to look at a human's body."

"Oh, is that so."

Sesshoumaru didn't answer her. Jaxon took off her clothing and the bandages around her ankle before sliding in the water. She sank under the water and came up again. That's when she got a wonderful idea.

"Oh, Sesshoumaru," she called giggling.

"What is it, Woman?"

Jaxon didn't answer as she started splashing water at him. Sesshoumaru turned to face her and scowled. Jaxon laughed.

"Bathe yourself woman," he commanded as he turned back around.

Jaxon continued to laugh until she noticed a shadow creeping up over. She turned and screamed. Above her was a snake-like serpent, who was looking strait at her.

Jaxon scrambled to get out of the water and away but the Water Serpent just kept creeping forward. And then it was gone; ripped into shreds before her eyes. Sesshoumaru landed gracefully on a rock next to her.

"You jerk, why didn't you kill it when I started screaming."

Sesshoumaru smirked, "You started it, Woman."

Jaxon frowned and turned away from him.

"Woman, did you honestly think I would have let it kill you."

She snapped back to face him.

"My name is Jaxon, not woman, Jaxon and how was I suppose to know you were going to save me. I don't know you and you have certainly told me more than once that you were going to leave me to die."

Sesshoumaru didn't say anything. He just let her yell at him.

"Are you done, woman? If you are, then get out and get dressed. I have more important things to attend to than to listen to your complaints," he said when she was finished.

Jaxon clenched her fists in anger, and swam to the edge of the lake. She didn't see her clothes anywhere, but in their place was a blue kimono. Jaxon looked up at Sesshoumaru who had turned his back.

She slipped the kimono on and tied the sash around her waist. It was soft on her skin. She looked up again at her captor.

"I'm dressed," she said quietly.

Sesshoumaru turned around, walked over to her and picked her up. He carried her back to the cave and set her on top of the dragon. After climbing on, Sesshoumaru directed the dragon to go west.

"By the way," she said, "I wanted to thank you for the kimono."

Sesshoumaru made a sound of indifference.

"You wore strange clothing like the shard detector. I got rid of it because I was sick of seeing it."

Jaxon softly smiled knowing that it was just his way of saying `you're welcome.' She closed her eyes and thought about what could lay ahead for her.
