Oh my gosh! Finally! Another chapter completed.

Its official, school has taken over my social life, I hardly have time to do anything for me. Anyways, this is a rather short chapter but hopefully the next one will follow soon. I'd like to thank Silveraliora and Atholee for reviewing the previous chapter.

 

About 2 chapters ago, silveraliora asked “why didn't they want to switch back?” well, Kagome don't really want to - ish, cause she don't like her life but Inuyasha definitely want to but he is trying to make the best of the situation. Oh well…

Chapter 10 - Race Her heart Out

 

“I want to go out” Kagome uttered “I'm tired of this damn hotel”

 

Inuyasha's head flew up from the newspaper that he was reading “Damn!” Did Kagome just swear?

 

He started to excavate his memory; he couldn't remember Kagome ever saying a swear word. This is a revolution! Being cooped up in the room must be getting to her.

 

“Where do you want to go?” he questioned

 

“I don't know” she replied “I'd settle for anywhere”

 

“But Kagome, remember that we have to keep a low profile”

 

For three days I've followed the same routine; wake up; watch T.V., bathe, watch T.V., eat, watch T.V., eat again and watch T.V. some more” she explained “Oh, and how could I forget, I watch you sleep also, Inuyasha, I need to leave this place; even if its for about an hour.”

“Oh my God! The Eiffel tower!” Kagome exclaimed

 

Watching the buildings on the ground reduce in size, as the made their way up via the elevator, Kagome changed from excited to timid. “Oh heavens I think I'm afraid of heights”

 

Inuyasha just looked at her and shook his head.

 

She turned to him with fear along with a splash of confusion in her eyes “I'm serious”

 

“Just please try to enjoy the view, Kagome, please” he pleaded

 

She exhaled deeply then started to absorb the scenery around her. “Wow! It's lovely!” she exclaimed monotonously. To not admit that would be a crime against nature.

 

“Inuyasha stared at her through the corner of his eyes “Don't sound so impress” he replied sarcastically “Your enthusiasm is killing us”

 

“Oh my gosh, its so beautiful” was her almost immediate response, in such a sarcastic tone, she could get arrested for it.

 

“Don't talk like that” he told her “You'll make me sound gay”

She turned to him in disbelief “There's no pleasing you is there?”

 

 

She then resumed to absorbing her surroundings until she spotted a pair of very familiar faces. “Oh Lord have mercy” she expressed

 

“What?”

 

“Couldn't they at least wait a few more minutes before they pursue us, I was just getting into enjoying the view.”

 

Inuyasha's eyes aimed toward the direction in which Kagome was looking.

 

“Its not like we didn't expect them” Inuyasha uttered

 

“Why are we even running anyways?” Kagome questioned aloud “What exactly are they going to do to us?”

 

“I don't know but personally I don't want to find out.” He grabbed onto her hand and headed towards the elevator.

 

“This is getting so old” she finalized

When the two finally reached the bottom of the Eiffel tower, the scientist were nowhere in sight.

 

Inuyasha and Kagome started to walk down the street.

 

“Do you think they gave up?” Inuyasha inquired

 

“Hardly” was Kagome's reply “Why would they give up now; they chased us from London to Amsterdam; through Belgium; to Luxembourg and now Paris.”

 

“Maybe we didn't actually see them; probably it was a figment of our imagination; probably because we expect them to be anywhere close by.”

 

“If you say so”

 

For some strange unforeseen reason Kagome turned to look behind her.

 

“What?” Inuyasha inquired almost like a reflex action

 

“I don't know” she replied almost confused “It feels like I'm being watched”

 

Inuyasha looked behind him “hmmm!”

 

They continued walking in silence then Kogome looked behind her again. This time she was just in time to see a car come to an abrupt halt.

 

“Inuyasha” she called

 

“Yeah”

 

“I think that that car is following us”

 

“What?” Inuyasha turned around to see a fully tinted silver Mercedes X-5 in a stationary position on the street “Are you sure?”

 

“Well…”

 

“Alright, lets make a right turn here just to make sure” Inuyasha suggested

 

Almost as soon as they detoured, the car followed

 

“Okay then, I'm getting a bit scared now” Kagome affirmed

 

“Lets cross the road and take that left” Inuyasha continued, still not fully convinced.

 

When they did, once again, the car followed.

 

“Lets make a run for it” Inuyasha whispered

 

Kagome started to run off but stopped without more ado when she realized that Inuyasha didn't follow suit. She turned to look at him “Inuyasha?”

 

“Yeah” he answered absently with his eyes affixed upon a black Honda X-45O motorcycle. “Are you thinking what I'm thinking?” he asked as soon as she returned to his side.

 

“That's called stealing, Inuyasha”

 

“It's a matter of life or death” he replied “And not to mention, the idiot left the key in the ignition plus look, how perfect is it that there-“

 

“Are two helmets” she completed for him

 

Inuyasha turned to her with a question in his eyes and one of the helmets outstretched in his hand.

 

Kagome then exhaled breath of defeat “Fine” she took the helmet from him “I can NOT believe I'm actually agreeing to do this”

 

She got on the bike behind Inuyasha “You know what you're doing right.”

 

He turned to her with a little smirk on his face but did not reply.

Another high speed chase began. This one however, was super intense. The bike was at high speed revving down the street with the Mercedes sailing behind them.

 

Kagome's heart was at its peak beating rate. She doubted that she was even breathing. Her fingers were locked around Inuyasha's waist as she clung onto him for dear life.

 

Inuyasha, on the other hand, loved the thrill, accelerating to over 120 miles per hour; he loved being on the edge.

 

The people on the street though, stopped to marvel at the sight that passed them; a girl leading a high-speed chase on a bike with a guy behind her, not to mention, they were racing a Mercedes. Those who were able to, make sure to catch this scenery on film cause this was a moment that was definitely worth capturing.

 

They were being chased for a almost an hour when next thing they knew, they were racing pass a sign that said “Bienvenido a Madrid.” (Spanish for “Welcome to Madrid”.)
