Rin, a little human girl of about 7 years, smiled as she picked flowers for Sesshoumaru-sama. Sesshoumaru, full blood dog demon, lord of the western lands, was off doing what ever he does when he leaves rin behind. Rin wished he would take her along, she felt safer around him, then around jakken, sesshoumaru’s frog demon servant. Rin was unaware of the two blue eyes watching her, or the white ears pricked, listening to her every move. A white wolf, bearly visible in the forests thick undergrowth, growled low in it’s throat. It knew she was far from where the frog demon was, it knew that the only one able to save her was not close by, it knew she was helpless. Slowly the white wolf moved into position to strike. Rin kept picking the white and purple wood violets, oblivious to the danger so near. The wolf kept it’s eyes trained on her feet, one more step. Rin stepped closer, when a white wolf leaped out of the forest and snarled before her. She screamed and run, the white wolf on her heels. It didn’t occur to rin that the wolf hadn’t killed her yet, or as she ran the wolf seemed to be directing her towards something. It was only when rin ran out into an other clearing and ran into some one that she stopped her mad dash. Rin looked up into the shocked eyes of a human women. Looking back she saw the wolf, standing at the edge of the clearing. She through her arms around the women and sobbed softly.
“Now now, Azize won’t hurt you”
rin looked up at the women, who was glaring at the wolf.
“Azize! I told you to find help, not terrorize children”
rin looked back at the white wolf, azize. The wolf snorted.
“I was not terrorizing. This child travels with a male dog demon, lord sesshoumaru if I’m not mistaken, I believed she may be able to help us”
Rin looked in shock at the wolf who had just spoken quiet clearly. Rin looked around the women and gasped in shock. Lying a short distance behind the women was a very weak looking she demon. Even though the demon was in full fledged demon form you could tell it was female in some ways, the slenderness, the well groomed coat of sparkling white fur, and her eyes. Rin looked at the demoness, who had one eye cracked open , though didn’t seem like she was looking at her.
“WHO’S HERE KATA!”
The women, Kata, turned and looked at the demon.
“ it’s just a little human child amaya.”
azize walked over to the demoness and licked her muzzle, amaya opened an azure eye and looked at azize.
“Hello azize. I see your still alive.”
The wolf nodded.
“And well mistress.”
Rin gripped tighter to Kata’s kimono. The women patted her head.
“There is nothing to fear of amaya right now, she is weak, I sent azize out to find help but she brought you back instead.”
Rin looked up at kata.
“What happened to miss amaya”
the demoness chuckled.
“such a polite child, let me see her kata.”
The demoness rolled till she was lying on her chest. Kata brought the reluctant rin over closer to her. Amaya’s head was bearly off the ground, to weak to raise it to high. Once kata had rin infront of the large wolf demon rin saw that amaya had two different colored eyes. One was a sparkling pool of blue and the other like molten gold. Rin gasped in wonder and walked closer.
“Rin-sama never seen a demon as pretty as you miss amaya”
amaya looked at the child emotionlessly, then nodded.
“She could accomplish the task kata”
rin looked back at kata.
“What task miss kata?”
Kata lifted rin up.
“There is a demon’s claw, stuck in the back of her neck, If I wouldn’t have hurt her, in her current state, I would have retrieved it, but you are lighter then I, you could remove it so that miss amaya can change back to her normal self.”
Rin looked at the she demon and gulped.
“Rin-sama climb on miss amaya’s back”
kata nodded gravely.
“It’s okay, really, amaya doesn’t take to killing children.”
Rin gulped.
“Okay.”
Kata placed rin as far up on amaya as she could. Rin scrambled up onto her back then looked. A short ways towards amaya’s head was the tip of a claw, embedded in the spine ever so slightly. Rin scooted forward, grabbed the claw and pulled. It didn’t budge. She tried again and still no movement came forth. A third tug rewarded rin by making her fly back wards, claw in hand. She slid down amaya’s back and lifted it up.
“I GOT IT. Rin-sama got the claw out.”
Rin turned to show amaya and was rewarded by the sight of a women who looked much like sesshoumaru-sama. She had markings of soft, icy blue. And a deep blue star sat in the middle of her forehead. Her hair was longer then sesshoumaru-same’s but the same silvery/white color. Her skin was a bit paler then sesshoumaru-sama and she was a little shorter then him as well. But she was a sight to behold, when not covered in lacerations. Amaya sank to the ground with a groan.
“Thank you child”
amaya sighed heavily, azize whimpered and licked amaya’s face. Kata sighed and looked to the sky.
“Kami-sama I WISH I COULD HEAL.”
Rin looked at kata.
“You heal?”
“No I only restore what is lost, like amaya’s eye, she used to have two blue eyes but now she has one gold one blue. Eyes are tricky, I can never get the colors right. But amaya lost the eye in a battle a while back, as azize told me, she never went into her transformed state till I replaced the eye for her. She saved me, it was my only way to say thank you.”
Amaya sighed heavily.
“And I’m glad you did kata.”
Kata smiled in pride, she liked it when amaya praised her on a job well done. Rin looked at kata a bit then asked.
“How old are you. Rin-sama is 7"
“I am thirteen rin. Where did you come from”
rin looked around.
“That way.”
Rin pointed in almost every direction before she made it clear she was lost. Kata was thinking of taking her back to a village when azize reminded kata that she has seen rin walking with the dog demon, lord sesshoumaru. Amaya snorted in irritation at this, stating clearly that she dispises the other gender.
“Why that miss amaya”
“I was ran from my home child.”
Amaya sat herself against a tree.
“By two wolf demon brothers. Their packs combined with their strength, distroyed my pack of rare whites. Azize is the last of my pack of 70 white wolves.”
Rin gasped in awe, looking at azize.
“Why they want to kill white wolves”
amaya growled.
“Thier fur, so soft and white, is favored for many things. My pack stays away from humans. But the brothers and their pack of ordinary brown, gray, and black wolves, hunted down my pack for their fur. And for my territory. They chased me, azize and kata into this territory, which I am quiet aware of the fact it belongs to lord sesshoumaru azize, but I am also aware of the fact that they will not come into this land because of sesshoumaru.”
Rin looked at amaya.
“Why is that?”
Kata looked at rin.
“Because sesshoumaru is a feared demon, he is known to be ruthless, cold and emotionless. And savagely protective of his territory. Amaya is bent on the fact he will not attack a female demon, but the two male wolf demons that chased us into his territory are fair game.”
“Of coarse I could be wrong about sesshoumaru, he could take me as a threat. He is only a dog demon, and wolf demons are usually equal. But my kind, the rare white wolf demons, are stronger then most wolf demons, so he could see me as a threat. In my current state, that could be a problem.”
Rin looked at kata, then at amaya, then at azize. She looked azize over, azize looked a lot like amaya in her transformed state, only nicer. The white wolf stood and trotted into the forest.
“I’ll go catch something for dinner, kata.”
“Becareful azize”
“always am”
and azize was gone, followed by a snort of disbelief.
“Says the wolf who hurts herself at least once a week”
rin giggled and helped kata get a stew going, azize coming back a while later, carring two rabbits in her mouth. One she set down for herself, the other she gave to kata for the stew. Rin sat and smiled, before she thought of how she was going to get back.
“Rin-sama should find her way back. Sesshoumaru-sama will be worried, then get angry at rin-sama for wandering off.”
“You stay child. You could do with some of kata’s stew. It’s the least I can do, besides getting you back to your camp. A child your age needs good food.”
Kata nodded in agreement to amaya’s words. Rin smiled and waited. It wasn’t long till kata doled out three bowls of stew, making amaya eat one as well, in order to speed up the already fast healing process in the weak demoness. The soup was good, the chunks of rabbit tasting strangly like a mixture of pork and beef, and mixed with various veggies, was very filling. As they ate, amaya told stories of the time she would spend with the pack, which wasn’t often. Of how she changed the words of pack song to words of both human and demon. But the story rin liked most was of a picture amaya painted for them. Of a large group of wolves, all in a specific order, singing in the harmonious voice of the wild. Afterwards rin looked at kata.
“How am I going to get back to sesshoumaru-sama”
kata looked up at amaya, who was standing and stretching her slim frame out from lying down for so long.
“Amaya will take you”
the demoness stopped in mid-stretch and glared at kata.
“Says who. I have no buisness with a human child. Nor that of sesshoumaru”
rin got up and walked over to amaya, gripping amaya’s soft, icy blue kimono in small hands.
“Plz miss amaya, I would feel safer if you took me back”
amaya snarled at the child, raised a hand as if to strike her, then thought better of it and walked towards the woods.
“Come on and keep up”
rin scurried after amaya, holding the flowers she picked tightly as she ran under branchs and through the underbrush.

????????????????
Jakken paced the camp. Master sesshoumaru would be back any second now, and he still had not seen hide nor hair of the human brat. Mentally jakken was in panic, if master sesshoumaru came back and saw the child gone he would be angry with him at the best, kill him at the worst. Master sesshoumaru had told jakken to NOT let the child leave the camp. Jakken turned to pace the other direction when he ran into something. Jakken looked up to see sesshoumaru, glaring down at him. Jakken gulped and stood up quickly, bowing to him.
“I am sorry master, I did not hear you”
sesshoumaru continued to glare at jakken.
“Where’s rin?!”
Sesshoumaru ordered. Jakken gulped.
“Well you see master, it’s kind of funny you see. The little child snuck off on jakken. She hasn’t returned for a while now an.....”
Sesshoumaru grabbed jakken around the throat.
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN SNUCK OFF.”
Sesshoumaru drew his sword and sliced jakken in half, then drew the tensiaga and brought him back to life. Still glaring at jakken, sesshoumaru turned towards the forest.
“I will go find the girl. And you better pray that she is alive. Or you will hope for a quick death.”
Sesshoumaru turned and stalked into the forest, leaving jakken shaking like a leaf. After searching a bit, he caught the scent of rin on the wind, she was heading back to the camp. The wind changed a little and the smell of a demon reached his nose. He kept walking, sifting through his mind, trying to identify the demon, to no avail. It smelt like a wolf demon, only the icy undertones made him think other wise. He was just entering a clearing, when rin’s voice called to him.
“Sesshoumaru-sama!”
Rin came running from the other side of the field, and right up to him, smiling as always, and handing him a small bunch of flowers she had obviously gone off to pick. Sesshoumaru put a hand on her head and gave her a stern look.
“Don’t run off again rin”
rin nodded and looked behind her, sesshoumaru followed her gaze. Far into the shadows an almost white women stood quietly watching them. Sesshoumaru blinked, shook his head and looked again. The women was gone. So was the smell of the strange demon, slowly drifting away from them. Could that person have been a demon? Sesshoumaru doubted it, rin was scared of most other demons, besides jakken and himself, so why would she hang around one she never saw before. Also no demon he ever saw was such color. Sesshoumaru turned and walked into the forest.
“Rin...”
Rin looked and followed sesshoumaru, looking behind her every so often, she knew amaya was watching, making sure she would get back safely, even if sesshoumaru couldn’t smell her. As they got to the camp sesshoumaru looked at rin.
“Where did you go rin.”
“I went to pick flowers for sesshoumaru-sama *which she noticed he still had them* I got chased by a wolf and ran into this nice lady who was traveling to the next town. She had a nice girl with her too. They said they want to stay out of the way of demons.”
Sesshoumaru could tell she was lying about some of that. Rin wasn’t sharing all like usual. It was if she knew she had to keep some of it a secret.
“Why didn’t you run back to camp”
rin gulped at sesshoumaru’s stern tone.
“I-I got lost. I didn’t mean to wander so far”
sesshoumaru waved it off, and told rin to get some sleep. Rin curled up beside sesshoumaru and feel into a peaceful sleep, dreaming of snow white wolves singing songs to her.
