Chapter 12: That Night
That Night Inuyasha snuck over to Kagome's house. Lucky for him, Kagome left her window open
slightly, so it was no problem getting in. He walked over to Kagome and looked down at her.
She looked so beautiful, like an angel. He knelt down and put a hand over her mouth so she
wouldn't scream when she woke up.
Kagome was never a heavy sleeper, so she woke up instantly when she felt a hand clamp over her
mouth.
"Shh. It's just me Kagome." Inuyasha said, putting a finger to his lips with the other hand.
"Inuyasha? What are you doing here?" Kagome asked, her eyes wide.
"Don't you think I should be the one asking the questions? What's going on? You won't talk to
or any of the others and now you're hangin' out with that bitch Kikyo?! What the HELL is going
on?!" Inuyasha exclaimed.
"Shh! Keep your voice down." Kagome said looking around.
"It's complicated, you wouldn't understand."
"Try me." Inuyasah shot back, cocking an eyebrow.
"I can't tell you, I don't want to involve you." Kagome said, looking down.
"Kagome, I got involved from the moment I met you. Please..I can't protect you if I don't know
what I'm protecting you from." Inuyasha said, holding her face lightly.
Kagome closed her eyes and thought. This just wouldn't work, would it? No matter how she tried
to stay away from Inuyasha, there was no way to do it. She was either constantly thinking of
him, or he was pursuing her. Either way, she just couldn't let him go. Her secret would just
have to be exposed, so she could leave the past behind and move on to the future, with Inuyasha
by her side.
"Inuyasha, you know how I told you that my father died when I was young?" She finally said,
keeping her eyes closed.
"Yes."
"Well...what I didn't tell you was that I had a stepfather."
"You had a stepfather?" Inuyasha asked in disbelief.
"Yes, my mother remarried when I was 11 years old."
"Why isn't your mother with him now? What happened?" Inuyasha asked, growing nervously anxious,
he didn't like where this was going.
"Well, everything was fine at first, until he started to come home drunk, that's when....he
became violent." Kagome hated talking about it, the memories of that night were still fresh in
her mind.
"One night he came home drunk, same as always, but this night was different. You see, my mother
decided she had had enough and that it was time for us to leave. We would've been fine if he
hadn't gotten home unexpectedly early."
Flashbacks streaked through Kagome's mind as she continued her story.
{Flashback}
"What the hell is all this, huh?!" The man yelled as he grabbed the mother by her hair and
dragged her to the packed suitcases in the living room.
"Were you gonna leave me? HUH?!! You think you can just leave now?!! Is that it?! Don't you
know that you belong to me now, you bitch?!!" He said as he threw her roughly on the couch.
Kagome watched from around the corner, terrified.
"What makes you think can leave me?!!!!!!!!" He yelled as he picked her up and smacked her
across the face.
"All the hard work I do for you and this is how you repay me, by trying to leave me!!!!!!!"
The intoxicated man yelled as he kicked Kagome's mother hard in the stomach, causing her to roll
into the hall where Kagome stood.
Kagome watched in horror as the man beat her mother. Rage built inside of her and before she
knew it, she was lunging towards her stepfather. The man struggled as she pulled, beat , andscratched at his back. The man, enraged, threw Kagome on her back and walked towards her,
backing her into a corner at the end of the hallway.
"Such a pretty daughter I have. Too bad you don't mind very well, but I know how to fix that."
He smiled evilly as he grabbed Kagome roughly and began ripping open her shirt, fondling her
roughly.
Kagome's mother pulled herself up so she could help her daughter, but just as she did, someone
kick her from behind. Kagome's stepfather stopped his assault for a moment and looked back to
see his son, Naraku.
"Hey, why don't you hold that bitch so she can see what happens when you try to leave me." The man smirked.
Naraku just smirked back and did as he was told, forcing Kagome's mother to watch as the evil
man raped her daughter. Kagome opened an eye to see the cold and dark look on Naraku's face.
It only made the situation worse as she saw his smile of pleasure that he wore from watching
his father have his way with her.
{End Flashback}
"No! No! No!! Stop it!" Kagome yelled out.
Inuyasha quickly covered Kagome's mouth and held her close to him, rocking her back and forth.
"It's okay. Shhhh....I'm here. I'm sorry Kagome, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to make you
remember all those bad memories, I just had to know what happened. Tell me, how did you
escape from your stepfather?" Inuyasha said.
"That night, after everything that happened, we left." Kagome said simply, clutching Inuyasha's
shirt.
"Well, now that I know what's going on don't you worry, everything's gonna be fine hon, don't
you worry." Inuyasha said comfortingly.

Across the street in a black Mercedes, someone is watching Kagome's room, keeping surveillance
on her every move.
"So Kagome, Inuyasha thinks he can save you does he? Well, not if my father has anything to
say about it, he won't." Naraku mused as he watched the couple embracing each other through
his binoculars.

Well, that's one hell of a secret ain't it? And you all thought it was Naraku himself who did
something to Kagome, but it was his evil father! Oooo, I just want to stab that man 1,000 times
for what he did to Kagome! I was getting all emotional when I wrote this chapter, that's why
it took so long to get it out, I didn't want to write about Kagome getting raped.
