Utterly embarrassed, Xue Fang had immediately put some clothing on when she got to her room, then proceeded to drink a few more cups of her new favorite beverage. She was quite sure rumors would spread like a wildfire among the ladies of the court, and Inutaisho would probably joke about it with the men. Shrugging it off, she came to the conclusion that she was damn fine anyway and had nothing to be embarrassed about.

She was still pissed about her door however, passing demonesses and servants nosily peered in as the passed. ‘Stupid bitches…’ she thought darkly, glaring at the tamed and demure women that inhabited the castle ‘…probably couldn’t even hold a sword properly’.

Walking to her tansu, she pulled out a long black cheongsam with yellow cherry blossoms decorating the silken dress. Taking off the sleeping kimono she was in she slipped into the other dress. Removing a yellow obi from the dresser, she tied it at her waist and secured So’unga at her side. Running a comb through her uncooperative curls, she checked herself in the mirror, pleased at what she saw she made her way to the long awaited meeting.

The large dining hall was full of lords and ladies of the land, daimyo’s, high ranking warriors, and the head of the miko and houshi.

Inutaisho looked up from his conversation with the tall youkai at his right and motioned for her to join their chat at the head of the table. Striding to the end of the table, she took a seat next to the two lords on the fine silken zabuton.

“Who might this goddess be?” the demon at Inutaisho’s other side inquired, winking at her.

“This is Lady Fang, she’s come from the continent to aid the upcoming war” Inutaisho introduced her. “ This good looking demon here is my best friend and the lord of the southern lands, Chihaya.”

She nodded at the demon across from here. Chihaya was slightly taller than his friend, he had shoulder length brunette hair that turned golden at the tips, most likely from the southern seas and sunlight. He was a bit more tan than herself, and was from what she could see, more muscular than his silver haired comrade. His faded green markings were on his arms rather than his face, and looked more like tribal like tattoos. The tattoos matched his light green eyes that faded to a deep gold at the center. Though he was quite attractive, she preferred the lord of the west, perhaps Huan Yin would be a good match for the demon parallel to her.

“Inutaisho, care to fill me in on the latest on the war” she said, peeling her gaze from the handsome southern lord, and turning to the head of the house.

He nodded “Yes, but I believe everyone here must hear what I have to say”. Standing he cleared his throat and everyone stopped there chatter and returned to their cushions at the long table.

Once everyone had quieted, he began to speak.

“As you all know, you have been summoned here to fight the approaching armies from the continent. They have been gathering in the masses at the coast of China, building ships to transport themselves across the sea. My sources tell me their leader is a powerful dragon youkai from northern China named Ryuukossei, looking to gain more lands, our lands to be precise.”

There were several grunts and grumbles of disapproval throughout the room.

“I know of him” Xue Fang spoke “ beat his ass a few centuries ago. He had been looking for a mate at the time and insisted that I was the one” she snorted in a un ladylike manner before continuing “I left him in a bloody heap and that’s the last I saw of him…”

Inutaisho chuckled “Well hopefully you can beat his ass again.”

“ Now, we need to assign all of you to your duties” Inutaisho said turning to the audience. “Chihaya I leave you in charge of the your own army, the Yorozoku wolves. Your group will be positioned near the coasts, keeping a lookout for their warships. The Yorozoku are known fro their speed, so the word would be able to get back to our inland groups swiftly. You and your kitsune troops will easily be able to create a illusion to welcome them.


“Lady Fang I’m sure you wouldn’t mind giving the ones caught in the illusion a warm welcome, seeing as you’ve been itching for a fight.”

She nodded in agreement, she would have been the first to attack regardless of what he ordered.

“After you kill those in the illusions, you must retreat back to your army which will be awaiting you further inland. In addition to your army, your assigned to lead the Taijya as well. When the remaining troops from the first ship venture your way, slay them as well’.

“When the other ships see the dead, they won’t dock, they’ll stay in the deep waters till they think the threat is over. Chihaya, your team will then join Xue Fang at her camp, so they think the coast is clear. Your scents however pose an issue so one of my good friends Mizu will generate some rain to cover them up.”

A demon with pale blue hair nodded in his direction.

“Midoriko” Inutaisho said glancing at the warrior miko, one of the few humans at the meeting “you will lead the mikos and houshi. First you must place barriers on all of our castles, then split your troops into groups so they may place similar barriers around all of the camps. Once that is accomplished you will regroup and split into four separate parties. One will remain with Chihaya and Xue Fang’s camp, another will join the eastern lord, and one will join the northern, the remainder will join myself.”

The human nodded curtly, ready to set the plan in motion,

“Yuki you and your troops will be positioned on the northern coast, should they decide to dock there. Be ready to ambush them if that does happen” he said to the pale northern lord. Looking to the eastern lord at Yuki’s left he addressed him “You and your troops will cover the southern coast for the same reasons.”

“My soldiers and I will borrow Lady Fangs warships and circle behind their ships and push them towards the shores.” Inutaisho finished taking a peek at the demoness hoping she wouldn’t protest to her ships being used by another. Thankfully she didn’t comment.

“Is everyone in agreement?” he asked. They all nodded and voiced their understanding.

“Then tomorrow we head out!”
