Chapter 2

 

InuYasha supposed it was dinner so he ran towards Kagome. Sango and Miroku were screaming and running after him to get him to stop. InuYasha was far too fast for both of them. As he ran closer to Kagome, it was her blood he started to smell. He only did the unexpected - He picked her up and held her in his arms. Sango and Miroku saw that Kagome's face was a little wet.

 

InuYasha looked up at them and they realized that his eyes weren't red anymore.

He was crying!

 

They both ran towards him to see if he was alright, but he snapped sharply with,

 

“GET AWAY FROM ME!” They stopped in their tracks, turned around and said,

“Well, we'll go back to the hot springs until you're finished - But DON'T hurt Kagome---

 

“SHUT UP,” InuYasha interrupted. “I am not hurting her.”

“Okay… Well, you can come find us after you're done.”

“Yeah… Whatever…”

 

All InuYasha could do was think about how he hurt Kagome when he promised her that he wouldn't let her get hurt, and that he'd protect her from anything. When he was fighting those clouds of demons, he wasn't protecting her, but killing for his own enjoyment. Soon enough, Kagome opened her eyes, smiled, and said,

 

“Thank you so much, InuYasha.”

 

InuYasha thought about yelling at her and calling her nasty names, but instead, he embraced her and tried not to cry again, but he just couldn't help it. He said tearfully,

 

“How could I have been so dumb? Don't EVER come near me when I'm like that!”

“I didn't know what to do, so I just stood there because….. I…- I”

 

InuYasha said anxiously but calmly,

“What? What is it?”

 

After about five to ten seconds, the longest ones, she blurted out quickly,

“I LOVE YOU!!!”

 

InuYasha gasped and his widened, but he soon looked away. He was blushing.

“Kagome….. Uhh… Can we go fund Miroku and Sango at the hot spring?”

 

Not quite what she was expecting him to say.

“Yes. I was wondering where they were.”
