I know once again I am late with the update. I'm very sorry. But I'm sure if you've been waiting for this update the last thing you want is for me to be talking so on with the fic.

Chapter 19

Brotherly Love, and Midoriko?

Kagome stared down as Inu-Yasha tried to peel himself from the floor. Straining he finally rose to his feet, shaking his head to keep his ears from ringing, staring daggers at Shippo all the while. Shippo of course choose this moment to voice his slightly suicidal opinion.

" Inu-Yasha you jerk! Five hundred years, our own deaths and you're still an ass to me, insisting on hit me on the head."

" Quite runt! Kagome please listen, what happen with Kikyo … it was… I… I had no choose…"

" Inu-Yasha what do you mean you didn't have a choose? Kikyo's not holding guilt over you this time so what now…"

Inu-Yasha didn't even give Kagome time to finish her sentence before he blurted out.

" She was threatening you and your family. I couldn't let anything happen to you. Not again. I'll never let anyone hurt you again even if it means my own happiness…"

Kagome's eyes softened at once and for the first time in days a smile came to Inu-Yasha's face. But as fate often does it ruined this 'Kodak' moment.

" Young master Inu-Yasha?"

The intruder on this happy bubble was a servant of the house a funny looking fellow, rather short and frog like with large eyes sitting high on his face, who strangely enough goes by the name of Kermit. (Sorry if no one understands the humor here it's an inside joke)

" Yes. What is it?"

Inu-Yasha barked irritated at being disturb which cause poor Kermit to jump a good foot back, and answer in a shaky voice, fearing his young masters wrath.

" Sir your brother wants to speak with you."

" Tell him I'm busy."

" I tried sir he said ether I got you down stairs now or my guts would cover the down stairs. He is in a foul mood all of the sudden sir."

Growling Inu-Yasha turned to Kagome giving her a sad smile.

" We'll finish our talk later k… Sango please stay with Kagome … And one more thing Kagome stay in bed your still hurt."

" What about me Inu-Yasha?"

For a moment Inu-Yasha didn't turn his eyes away from Kagome then slowly turned to Miroku and said.

" You perverted monk are coming with me. I'm not leaving you with the girls."

" Inu-Yasha I'm hurt. Your lack of trust is…."

" Hentai!!"

" Once again monk you proved me right… Come on."

Inu-Yasha left the room bragging a red-faced monk behind him, a still fuming Sango in the room, and a short butler following in tail. So it is probably not strange that it took Inu-Yasha till he was halfway down the stairs to realize a strange scent was in the house. Inu-Yasha stopped on the stairs to sniff, only then did he realize how was in his house. Finishing the stairs Inu-Yasha rounded the corner into one of the sitting rooms to see a medium-sized tanned skinned woman with medium length dark brown hair pulled into a ponytail on the side of her head and big questioning eyes. His mind worked at reasons as to my Kelly would be in his house fresh memories of the slap and stern yelling to he was give came to mind.

" Ummm…. Kelly what are you doing here? …. If it's to yell me and Kagome are trying to work things out."

He added the last part quickly incase she wanted to yell at him again. However Inu-Yasha never heard the answer, Sesshoumaru cut it off.

" Inu-Yasha! You have some explaining to do. As in what is happening to us!"

By the end of those few sentences Sesshoumaru had Inu-Yasha by the throat and held him daggling a foot above the ground.

" So do start talking little brother, maybe start at why you have doggie ears, who are all these people you suddenly are friends with, you never had friends before. Why Kelly and I keep having flash backs to something that happened in the past or even why I feel compelled to call her Rin and you Hanyou?"

" I don't know…. Bro… maybe old… habits die… Hard."

Inu-Yasha said between rasping breaths as he started to turn a light shade of blue, also about this time two new sets of eyes began to watch the scene from the hall. (Three guess whom.)

" Why you stupid…"

" Please Sesshoumaru… put him down and I will explain everything."

All eyes turned to Kagome who with the help of Sango was standing in the hall. (How many guessed right?) Sesshoumaru slowly lowers Inu-Yasha to the ground; He after coughing for a few minutes joined Kagome.

" You said you know what was going on…. Speak!"

" You had to fight the urge to call me Human didn't you Sesshoumaru?"

Sesshoumaru was silent for a moment his eyes set in a cold glare at Kagome, and all Kagome could hope was that he didn't fully revert back to his old self for she was sure at the moment she was at the top of his kill list.

" How do you know that and why do I want to say these things it doesn't make scene I'm human."

" Yes but in a former life you were a Demon and a powerful one at that. It's that life, that spite that's trying to fight it's way to the surface."

" Why? What happened that my former self what's to come back I mean this isn't how reincarnation is supposed to work."

" All of our former selves and live are coming back because…"

Kagome paused to take a beep breath all eyes were now on her, she could feel the Shikon Jewel around her neck pulsing something was happening or coming, and she needed to tell them all now.

" Because the past is about to repeat itself and we all need to remember and become stronger to keep form dieing again."

" One question a lot of my memory is jumbled and not very easy to understand so how are we supposed to learn from it?"

All except Inu-Yasha they all nodded they're heads in agreement.

" You mean all of your memories are like that only Inu-Yasha's and my memories are good."

Once again everyone nodded his or her heads in agreement and using her free hand Kagome rubbed her temple.

< What to do? What to do? >

However before Kagome's question was answered the Shikon jewel gave a power pulse and nearly knocked everyone to the floor and just as before a white light engulfed the room.

(In the light)

Inside the light Sesshoumaru stumbles forward looking around trying to find anyone or anything.

" What's going on? Inu-Yasha? Kelly? Kagome? Humans?"

" Be quiet."

" Who say that?"

" I did."

As the words echoed through the empty void of white and figure stepped forward and at seeing him the future Sesshoumaru took a step back. It was the old Sesshoumaru, his white kimono with the red flower design, armor and his sliver hair and fur boa flowing out behind him as it had his whole life, and as he look into the eyes of his new self you could feel the air of superiority he had carried when alive.

" So you are my reincarnation. This Sesshoumaru is slightly disappointed, but it doesn't matter now for you must concentrate on win the coming battle for if you don't we will die again and this time no one will help us and the world really will end. So it is with this in mind I give you this…"

Before the new Sesshoumaru could even blink his old self was behind him and had grabbed a hold of him. With his touch pictures, sounds, tastes, smells and lastly feelings surged through the new Sesshoumaru's body diving him to crumple to his knees. Head still spinning he looked around for his old self to find that as quietly as he had show up he had vanished again. Then a few last words where called out from the emptiness.

" I gave you my memories and strength with out them I'm no more. However please do me a favor protect Rin, I failed but you might succeed because you are not like me…"

With that his was gone forever leaving Sesshoumaru alone. After a few moments Sesshoumaru stumbled to his feet he started walking in the direction Sesshoumaru had come from. No more then five steps in this direction he found Kelly lying on the ground with out hesitation he rushed to her. Gentle shacking her shoulder she turned so as to look up at him and with curiosity plain in her eyes she raise a gentle hand to trace the new marks on his cheeks.

" She was so young, just a little thing, but she told me you need me to take care of you, to be near you lord Sesshoumaru."

(Still inside the light)

Sango and Miroku stood next to each other not sure what to do or what was going on.

" I don't like this Miroku. What's going on?"

" Don't worry my dear Sango I'm here nothing will happen."

A slap resounds through the void and Miroku once again has a red handprint across his face.

" Yes with you here I have to watch for enemies and your hands."

" Don't worry there are no enemies here."

Both jumped at the unknown voice even if it was Sango's, and just as the voice had come from the void out stepped the old Sango demon exterminator outfit and giant boomerang and all. She was followed closely by, the old Miroku in his monk robes and holding his staff. Even though they looked alike you see a difference in their eyes, the pair that had come for the void had a light in their eyes, knowledge. The old Sango was the one who spoke.

" Don't be afraid. We are here to give you our knowledge and strength so that you can complete what we started…"

With this said they quickly walk over to their new age counterparts and put a hand to their foreheads and as a bright light rose form their finger tips the old monk and demon slayer faded away.

After they were gone Sango and Miroku fell to the floor breathing hard looking every which way for their old selves but only the white surrounded them now only after a moment did they hear the faintest of voices call out from no where.

" Please one last thing… Don't make the same mistake we did…. Don't be afraid of your emotions…"

(Hey you guessed it were still in the light.)

Inu-Yasha had quickly found Kagome after the light had surrounded them and now held her close. And just as before their older selves came out from the light, sad smiles seemed engraved on their faces. It was the old Inu-Yasha who spoke first.

" It's time for you both to know the whole truth."

" Wait a minute why didn't you guys do this from the start why keep bragging us back here?"

The new Inu-Yasha was angry, this little trick seemed to pull a lot of energy from Kagome and in her weak state it couldn't be helping her. However before ether sprite could answer Kagome did.

" Once they do this they will disappear forever, no memories or strength to hold them to this world."

" What!?! Is what she said true?"

" Yes Inu-Yasha what she said is true. We are sorry we keep dragging you back here it's just after five hundred years of being apart we wanted to enjoy each others company a little before disappearing."

As the old Inu-Yasha answered their question the old Kagome grabbed a hold of him taking pose just like their modern selves had. However even in this loving pose you could see the sadness in their eyes as they look at one another. But seeming to realize what they had to do they step closer to Inu-Yasha and Kagome and an almost mind numbing slowness reached out and touched their new salve's foreheads. And in the space of a few moments they had faded away and were gone.

Inu-Yasha shook his head trying to clear it and look down at Kagome who had passed out. And slowly before Inu-Yasha's eyes the white void disappeared reviling their friends one by one. Miroku tried to find words for it but all that came out was oh man and ahh.

" Anyone have any more questions?"

At the resounding silence Inu-Yasha nodded his head pick up Kagome bride style and began to take her back to bed, Shippo of cores in toe. Inu-Yasha only made it to the middle of the stairs before it happened.

(I could leave it off right there…. Am I that mean? …. Do I fear the readers that much? ….)

Ok On with the second half of this chapter. J

A great explosion rocked the house sending not only the huge front doors flying but also maids and butlers screaming and scurrying for their lives. Inu-Yasha had by the force of the blast been knocked down and now lay face down on the steps half covering Kagome. As his head stopped throbbing from the blast and his ears stopped ringing Inu-Yasha heard Sesshoumaru and the others yelling something at him and then something at someone else. And that's when he heard it clear as day over the noise and confusion, that sickening voice he never thought he'd be unlucky enough to hear again.

" Inu-Yasha! So we meant again after 500 years."

Lifting up off of Kagome Inu-Yasha stood and turned to stare face-to-face, eye-to-eye with his most hated enemy.

" Naraku!"

" Oh don't tell me you're not happy to see me Hanyou. I waited all this time, worked so hard just so I could come and kill you, get the Shikon no Tama and rule the world."

" You bastard!! I won't let you get your grimy hands anywhere near that jewel. You'll have to get through me first."

" Oh but that is what I was planning Hanyou and I must say it will be easy after all your priestess is unconscious, your sword is no where to be found, and your friends are being distracted by Kagura and the others."

" You forgot about me! Fox Fire!"

Shippo who till now had been lying on the floor trying not to be notice had jumped up and attacked Naraku. Who simple brushed off the childish attack and then extended his hand and arm and knocked Shippo back into the wall knocking down on top of his a heavy medieval shield and the two swords the crossed behind it.

" Wahahahahahaha! Foolish child you think your pathetic fox magic can harm me?"

" Shippo!!"

As much as Inu-Yasha wanted to run to Shippo and help him he couldn't he had to stay were he was to protect Kagome. But his hatred and desire to kill boiled over in his eyes and when Naraku saw this and almost took a step back before stopping himself. Naraku growled at him self and then extended his arms to attack Inu-Yasha how was fending them off fairly well. This was until Naraku's one arm burst into tentacles, which successfully distracted Inu-Yasha so as his hand grabbed his throat.

Laughing all the while Naraku banged Inu-Yasha helpless body into the stone walls again and again finally letting his body fall like a useless rag doll. Then quickly using his claws pieced the wall causing it to fall onto Inu-Yasha. Sesshoumaru and the others yelled out to Inu-Yasha uselessly and watched helplessly as the wall fell. Naraku assumed his task of dealing with Inu-Yasha was done and so climbed the stairs to Kagome.

As he reached her he dent down to collect the jewel only to be hit square in the jaw by a giant fist. There on the stairs shadowing Kagome was the mountain of a man, Sesshoumaru and Inu-Yasha's father. Then in a thundering voice one would swore could bring down the heavens themselves he yelled out.

" WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?…. What the have you done to my sons? …."

" How dare you interfere? I'll kill you like I did to your son!"

" Vermin like you could never kill one of my sons! Now get the hell out of my house!!"

" Fool!!"

Once again Naraku's arm and tentacles were sent on the attack and it was quickly looking as through Inu-Yasha's fate would be repeated. So it came as no surprise to anyone when the mountain of a man hit the floor at the top of the stairs. By this time however Kagome was beginning to wake up. Though she seemed unaware as Naraku stepped closer to her. However as Naraku grabbed Kagome's neck she became fully awake and aware she was in very real danger.

" Now priestess give my the Shikon jewel."

" Na… Narakuuu…"

" Give me it girl before I straggle the meaningless life from you."

" Iron revere Soul stealer!!"

Just in time Inu-Yasha had gotten free and attacked Naraku cutting his arm from his body. Naraku didn't seem fazed by this at all and were the arm had been tentacles emerged and began to lash out at Inu-Yasha. His tentacles quickly managed to grab Inu-Yasha and held him up in mid air.

" Now you die stupid Hanyou!"

" NOOO!!!!"

Naraku barely had time to turn and see the holy energy coming towards him. Inu-Yasha was immediately dropped to the floor, which upon hitting he ran to Kagome scooping her up and running to a safe distance from Naraku. As the smoke cleared all could see the damage, blood covered Naraku as half his face had been burned away the only thing left was the bone, his entire arm was gone leaving only a blood numb that could maybe once been where the shoulder meant the torso. His clothing looked burnt and ripped ready to fall from his body. Shrieking out in pain Naraku sent his other tentacles at the pair Inu-Yasha quickly dogged falling down near Shippo who Kagome immediately ran to.

" Give up Naraku! Look at yourself you can fight."

" I will have the Shikon Jewel and I will have the priestess head on a platter for what she has done."

" Get real I will never let you touch Kagome."

While these words where said Kagome was cradling Shippo in her arms, then she felt it the pulse looking down she realized with a start what it was. Meanwhile the fight between two enemies had started again and again the scales weren't tipped in Inu-Yasha's favor. That is till he heard Kagome yell and felt it the pulse.

" Inu-Yasha!"

Inu-Yasha snagged the sword in mid air drawing it from the sheath it transformed instantly.

" What Tetsusaiga (I've seen it spelled different so if this is wrong I'm sorry I got this spelling from cartoon network.) No!! Dammit! I'll be back Inu-Yasha."

With a huge blast of miasma Naraku and his followers were gone. Miroku and the others slowly came into the entrance hall and leaning heavily on his staff Miroku said.

" Well that was a nice work out. Anyone else for a trip to the hospital."

(About ten minutes later)

Sesshoumaru had quickly taken charge and had convinced the maids and butlers to come back and clean up the mess after of cores the stander rise in salary. The brother's father was taken to his room to rest. He'd also gotten Erin to come and take Shippo to bed and to be bandaged up. Erin of cores looked at all the destruction then turning and saying.

" Did you all have a party in here?"

After assuring her that was it Sesshoumaru maybe a mental note not to raise Erin's salary and to send her in for another psychoanalysis.

" Lord Sesshoumaru."

Turning Sesshoumaru saw one of the maids with two swords in hand.

" These fell from the wall my lord what do you want done with them?"

" Leave them here with us and go Mid."

" Yes and thank you my lord."

Setting them down on the steps near Inu-Yasha and others the maid quickly left with a smile on her face. Inu-Yasha looked over at the swords as the maid left then eye's wide yelled out.

" Sesshoumaru look!"

" What!"

Looking to the swords, that Inu-Yasha couldn't remove his eyes from, on the handles was written Tokijin and Tenseiga.

" Sesshoumaru what did you say the women's name was?"

" Mid Oriko….Midoriko!"

At once the whole party was on there feet and running into the sitting room that Midoriko had gone only to see her no where to be found.

" Kermit! Were is Mid Oriko?"

" Who sir? I've never heard that name before."
