Kagome's eyes flashed with anger and defiance as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"No way. No Way in HELL." She hissed.
Taka sighed in exasperation as he looked down at her as she sat on a crate with the healed kitsune pup on her lap.
"Kagome... you have to put it on..!"
"Oh no I don't! And what's wrong with what I'm wearing?!" She said gesturing down at her clothes meaningfully.
She was wearing a purple yuukata that was slightly muddy and ragged from their journeying.
"You would go to the demon court dressed as a ragamuffin and present yourself before all the lords and ladies that rule the land?" Hanta said raising an eyebrow hoping to make her realize exactly what she was refusing so she'd--
"Yep." She said grinning.
They face faulted.
Shippou laughed.
"Nice okaa-san!!!"
Thank you Shipou-chan. At least YOUR on my side.. do you know how many perverted demons there are at court? not to mention jerks. Pride and arrogance run through all their veins highly... Only a baka would enjoy a court like that.." Kagome stated while patting his red head.
Taka sighed but an idea hit him.
"Kagome you know you have to go and its our duty to make sure your... presentable..." Kagoem glared at him but he continued "If we promised to guard you throughout the whole festival from your so called 'perverts and jerks' will you act at least a LITTLE dignified?"
She bit her lip thinking it over.
"ALL of them?" She asked skeptically. "And if you fail I get to leave?"
They looked at each other shrugging before answering "Yes."
She grinned.
"Good I'm gonna hold you to your word. Now.." She grabbed the wrapped package from him and headed in to the hut "... Meet me back here in an hour!"
They sighed.
"Do you think we did the right thing?" Hanta asked.
"With her? You never know..." Taka said and headed in to the village not to far from their destination...

"Hey Kagome you ready yet?" Hanta called getting slightly annoyed.
"Hold your horses!!" A voice called from inside.
Taka looked confused.
"We don't have any horses so why would we hold them??!" He shouted.
A sighed came from within that sounded like "baka."
Sounds of shuffling around inside came an about a minute later the kitsune cub emerged followed by; in their minds; a goddess.
The 'goddess' was dressed in a midnight black kimono. Silver stiches of phoenixes took flight across the material with the transculent silver obi around her waist making it look magical. The two three underlayers were silver as well. She had tied her long silky black and silver hair in to a twist on top of her head with a few tendrils she had curled framing her face. She had light makeup on with blue eyeshadow and slightly glossed lips and a natural blush on her cheeks.
How could they NOT gawk?
She glared at all of them through silver slits and walked passed them saying.
"Shut yer traps, wipe off the drool on your chins, and get going or I'll leave you here."
They snapped out of their stupor and simply nodded tagging after her and still staring immensly.
This, of course, was not improving her current foul mood.
So, Finally, after five minutes she stopped dead in her tracks and glared at all of them as they walked right in to her.
"Will you PLEASE stop staring at me like that?!?!! Not only is it degrading but its annoying as well...!"
Shippou, who was sitting on her shoulder whispered to the guys
"You better stop making mama made or she'll put a rosary on you..."
Kagome's face turned from a frown to an evil grin.. "Shippou-chan.. what a WONDERFUL idea..."
The three youkai men stopped dead in their tracks and looked at her wide eyed.
"You wouldn't..." They whispered.
She cackled.
"Oh wouldn't I?" She sneered taking a step torwards them they backed away from her.
"Okay Okay!!!!! We'll stop!! Just no rosaries!!"
She grinned spinnign around and heading down the path "Good."
The sighed in relief and followed her making sure to divert their eyes from her form. In about thirty minutes they awaited before the gate that lead in to the castle where the so called 'festival' was being held.
Kagome glared out at the walls in immense dislike.
She remembered her promise a let an emotionless prideful mask envelop her face as she waited patiently and regally to be let in.
Only she'd be damned if she stayed her more than a day...
Please Kami help me... She whispered in her thoughts as the large doors opened...

Sesshoumaru walked through the halls once again cursign the other demon llords for planning this thing then threating to wage war agaisnt him if he didn't comply to come.
This was all he need. Detestibale niitwitted yasha's fawning over him.... all looking for position and wealth with no brains to back it up.
He held in the sigh then threatened to be let out.
Passing several girls whispering and giggling while watching him with lust filled eyes was tempting enough for him to go over and rip out their throats.
But he refrained from doing so.
Turning down a hall he passed a group of gurads talking in hushed voices.
Now eavesdropping was below Sesshoumaru, but he didn't consider this si. He was in a public hall and anything said was not confidental nor private.
Swiveling his ears slightly he listen to what they were saying.
"... did you get a look at that new girl....?"A neko youkai asked.
"... no why?..."
"She was led in by Shoiji's top generals Taka Hanta, and Byako... "
"... was she a hime..?" Another asked
"... I've never seen her before but she was fit for one!.." Another howled.
"...Aye she was beautiful... and looked mightly stately too... "
".... I wouldn't mind having HER as my mate.." the neko said in a dazed voice.
The other laughed heartily and Sesshouamru passed by them in disgust.
Stupid fools.
They thought all the power hungry yashas' here were that... none of them were like that.
Out of all of them they were pretty but none so called 'beautiful' as they stated.
Although he had nothing better to do at the moment. Jaken was in the gardens with Jaken and the lords were busy planning things he had no care to know about.... so what could it hurt to look?
Diverting his path he headed for the front gate. After several turns and twists he made it to the clearing by the front gate and saw the so called 'beauty.' Turning his eyes to her he felt his body freeze in momentary shock. The incompented guards were right at least as the alluring scent of jasmine and Sakura assualted his senses as she turned her silver eyes on him..... familiar eyes only her markings were gone.
He breathed and said, after regaining his cool composure..
"Inuyasha's wench...."
Her eyes twitched ever so slightly to show her annoyance as she said in a clipped but respectful tone after getting a withering look from a green haired demon beside her.
"Sesshoumaru-sa...ma.."
"What are you doing here....?" He said frowning.
She looked like she was holding back her insults, which pleased him greatly, and said in a more strained voice..
"I was invited like all other yasha's in the land... willing or no.." She said shooting a glare at the guards around her.
"I see...."
He noticed a stir of movement on her shoulder and saw the kitsune pup on her shoulder growling at him.
"Sesshoumaru..." The pup growled out.
"Shippou-chan... don't worry he can't hurt us here.." She whispered.
He eased but only slightly.
Sesshoumaru's eyes narrowed.
"I see you brought your kit as well.."
"Of course I could not leave him to defend for himself.. did you bring Rin with you?"
Then as if on cue a small figure flit across the courtyard and into Kagome's awaiting arm with a cry of
"Kagome-oneesan!! Did you come to play with Rin? How come you look like Sesshouamru-sama? Who's on your shoulder?" The child asked launching at her one right after theo ther.
The older girl laughed lightly a twinkling sweet sound Sesshoumaru unwillingly admitted.
"Rin, Rin slow down.. I came to visit for the month, I'm a inu demon like Sesshouamru thats why I look likw him, and this is Shippou my pup.. he's a kitsune.." She said motioning to her son.
Rin looked up at him with a gap tooothed smile saying "Nice to meet you Shippou-chan!! in's name is Rin!!"
"Nice to meet you too Rin..." Shippo said nervously.
She giggled and turned to look at Kagome
"Can I pet your tail Kagome-oneesan?" She asked hopefully.
"Rin..." Sesshoumaru warned.
Kagome smiled unwinding her tail from her ankle so it was in front of the child "Sure Rin-chan.."
The little human girl reached out and felt an 'ooed' an 'aaaaed' in envy making even the kitsune pup break out in to a grin.
"Lady Kagome..." The green haired one asked her.
She looked up.
"Yes Taka-san?"
"The welcoming banquet is starting soon we should get going..."
She nodded and stood straight again.
Rin was grinning madly as she she took Kagome's hand saying
"Come on onee-san you can sit next to Rin!"
The inu yasha just nodded folling her in to the hall.
Seshoumaru frowned and followed after them from a distant wondering about the girl and his ward not for the first time.
Then a thought struck him. If she sat with Rin.. she'd also be sitting besides him as well along with her annoying kit..
Damn.
