chapter 2: Used

When they reached the castle, Sesshomaru went through his balcony so he wouldn't have to deal with Jaken or Rin

who would try and convince the girl to be her mom. Sesshomaru scowled at the thought of Rin actually liking the

miko, but she would be there for at least a week, so why not? 'Because Rin doesn't need to get attatched to her.' He

told himself as he entered his room.

Sesshomaru set her down in his bed and left the room to find is ward. 'It wont hurt for her to have fun, seeing the

way she is with that for pup, she should prove to be useful in taking care of Rin for the time being.'

"Sesshomaru-sama! Jaken said Sesshomaru-sama left because Rin is annoying! Did you?" The little girl latched

herself to his leg as he continued down the hall. "No Rin, it is not." He said, patting her head. "Rin, where is Jaken?"

"Jaken-sama is looking for Rin!" she giggled. "Oh," was his reply.

"Rin, there is someone I want you to meet. She is going to be here for a little while and you can play with her until she

leaves." Rin's face lit up as she let go of his leg and looked up at him. "Her? What is her name? Can Rin play with

her?" Sesshomaru looked down at the child stoicly as usual. "Her name is Kagome and you can play with her when

she wakes up. She is in my room if you'd like." He said turning to leave once again until he stopped short at the little

girl's nxt question. "Is Kagome-neesan pretty?" she asked. Seeing him stop as abruptly as he did made her sure that

he heard her, even if he didn't answer.

"For a human." he finally said, as he began to walk away once more. Rin smiled happily and turned towards

Sesshomaru's bedroom. "Oh, and Rin, get to bed soon it's late." Sesshomaru's voice came from around the corners

causing Rin to smile even more. 'I can sleep with Kagome-neesan!" She thought happily as she entered the room and

walked to the bed. "Wow, she's beautiful!" Rin said aloud causing Kagome to stir awake.

The feeling of where she was and the sight of a young girl in front of her gave her a little shock. "Wow." She finally

said. "Where am I?" Kagome watched as the little girl crawled onto the bed with her and slipped under the blankets.

"I'm Rin. Rin thinks that Kagome-neesan is beautiful!" Kagome smiled sweetly at the little girl. "Hello, Rin." she said.

"Sesshomaru-sama said Rin cold play with Kagome-neesan but Rin has to go to bed first. Can Rin sleep with you?"

Kagome smiled again, only warmer. "Uh sure Rin, but where am I" she looked around the room. She was in a king

sized bed with white silk sheets. Th walls were all painted light blue and hanging on one of them was a picture of a

white dog with a cresent moon on his forhead.

She gasped when her memories of that night had reappeared in her mind, and was in even more shock with the little

girl's next words. "We're in Sesshomaru-sama's bed!" The little girl said before giving off a yawn and wrapping her

arms around Kagome who finally returned the hug and laid down with a yawn. After shaking off the fact that she was

sleeping in Sesshomaru's bed and that he would probably sleep there too, she finally closed her eyes, giving in to

her weariness and drifted off to sleep.

"Sesshomaru-sama, Sesshomaru-sama! I'm so glad you are back. Forgive this lowly Jaken milord, but I seem to have

lost the human child." Jaken threw himself at his master's feet waiting to be kicked across the room, but when

nothing happened, he looked up to see, no one. Jaken sweatdropped as he stood up, glad to have not been beaten to

a pulp.

Sesshomaru decided he had walked around enogh and decided to go to bed. But when he slid in to his sheets and

rolled over, he bumped in to something. His eyes quickly roamed over the young miko who lay in HIS bed with HIS

ward in HER arms. He sighed loudly before turning over to the other edge of his bed. 'Stupid Girl' he thought before

going to another room and falling asleep.

Inu Yasha had run back to camp, waking everyone with his cursing. "Inu Yasha, what do you think you're doing?"

Sango sat up and glanced around the camp. Something was missing. "Kagome, where's Kagome?" Inu Yasha gritted

his teeth and turned his back to her. "Sesshomaru took her." Sango gasped and yelled at Miroku to wake up. "Yes,

my dear Sango?" he asked half asleep. "Kagome's gone, Sesshomaru took her Miroku we've got to get her back!"

She said standing up and removing her kimono to show her taijiya outfit.

"Sleep," was all the hanyou said before jumping back into the tree. Sango looked dumbfounded after hearing this.

"Sango, if Inu Yasha is telling you to sleep, then it's not as important as it seems." Miroku said lying back down once

again to let sleep claim him once more. Sango hesitated but complied to the hanyou's demand. "We can't face

Sesshomaru tired, can we?' she thought before falling to sleep again.

Kagome awoke early the next morning to find herself very warm. She noticed she and Rin were still in eachothers'

arms, and lucky enough, Sesshomaru wasn't there. 'He probably slept somewhere else.' She thought. "Kagome

looked down at Rin who had now begun to stir. Kagome smiled when Rin opened her eyes. The little girl gave her a

big toothy grin and hug. Once Rin let go Kagome sat up to look around once more, but was enterrupted when the

door slammed open.

"Sesshomaru-sama!" Rin screeched. She shot out of bed and launched herself to the taiyoukai's leg before letting fo.

"Kagome-neesan is beautiful. Is she Rin's new mommy?" "No Rin, she's not." Sesshomaru turned to look at Kagome

who was still sitting up in his bed. She pulled off the blankets and got up to stand beside the bed. "Human, put this

on. What you're wearing is indecent." He spat before throwing a kimono at her and leaving the room with Rin.

Kagome looked at the kimono in awe. It was a dark blue with silver stars and a silver obi. After changing, she went to

mirror on the other side of the room. 'I look beautiful,' she thought. 'Well, except for my hair.' Kagome sighed,

remembering that she didn't have her bag with her so she would have to use her hands to brush through her hair.

After she was content that her hair was untangled, she pulled a hair tie from her wrist and threw it up in a bun. 'There,

now it's perfect.' She thought. It was then that she remembered that Sesshomaru kidknapped her. "Oooh that baka."

She turned from the mirror and left the room.

"Rin, go eat. After you're done you can play with Kagome." He said. Rin nodded. "Hai, Sesshomaru-sama!" Before

running off towards the dining room to get something to eat. Sesshomaru continued walking towards his study until

he looked down a seconh hallway and saw something rather amusing.

"Let go of me, I didn't do anything.God that baka's gonna pay!" Kagome yelled to one of the guards that had her

arms pulling her towrds Sesshomaru's study. Sesshomaru had to turn around the next corner so he wouldn't be seen.

"Never use the phrase 'baka' to talk about sesshomaru-sama you filthy human." Just then, Kagome was getting

pissed. She began to glow a pinkish color. "I hate being called a filthy human you BASTARD!" Just then the pink

turned into a darker glow and energy burst from her body sending the guard into the wall, unconscience. "Uh oh, did

I do that?" she asked herself. Then, she felt clawed hands grab her by the neck and lift her into the air. Her own

hands immediatly went around that clawed ones as an attempt to remove them, but it didn't help.

"Don't ever do that again, human!" Sesshomaru dropped her, and watched as she fell to the floor trying to regain her

breath. He grabbed her arm and dragged her to his study. "One, never call this Sesshomaru a baka. Two, you will stay

here and look after Rin. That means playing with her, eating with her, and if she gets nightmares, sleeping with her.

Three, if you try to secape I will kill you." Kagome just stared at him a minute before shaking her head in

understanding.

"You know, I do have a name. I really don't appreciated being called, mortal, human, wench, bitch, or anyother pet

names you have in mind. I know you know my name. So please, use it." She said. Sesshomaru nodded. "I see how

you get when people call you a filthy human." He almost chuckled, afterall the sight was pretty funny, watching his

guard fly across the wall, then the dumbfounded look on her face, but didn't. It wasn't like him to laugh.

Kagome scowled at the taiyoukai before turning away. "Sesshomaru-sama, I'm hungry." She said. "Come. I'll take

you to get some food, seeing as you have no idea where you are going, or you wouldn't have run into Hyatte."

Sesshomaru left his study with kagome follwing. They walked right past Hyatte who was now conscience and ran

when he saw kagome. Kagome just laughed and followed Sesshomaru.

"Silence. Your voice is annoying me." He snapped. "Then why don't you let me go back to Inu Yasha?" She was still

wondering about why he took her in the first place. "You are my price. If I can't take the Tetsusaiga, he will give it to

me if he wishes for your safety." Kagome stopped dead in her tracks, silently fuming. "Damnit, why am I always

being used? It's not fair! I'm used as a 'shard detector' with Inu Yasha, and and a 'price for Tetsusaiga' with you."

Tears were brimming in Kagome's eyes. "I'm not hungry she said before slumping to the ground and letting selient

tears streak down her cheeks.

"That's no reason to cry for, Kagome." He hesitated on saying her name but is if would make her annoying crying

stop, so be it. "I'm not crying for that, I'm crying because in the end you're going to end up killing me anyway. Do

you honestly think that Inu Yasha would give you Tetsusaiga for me when he can have Kikyo and his sword

instead?" "Who is this Kikyo person?" Sesshomaru asked. "Is she not the woman who trapped him for fifty years?"

So Kagome told him the story of how she was pulled through the well, released Inu Yasha, broke the jewel, found out

about Naraku, realized Kikyo was alive again, and everything else. She didn't even bother to leave out the part about

Inu Yasha and Kikyo's secret meetings, seeing as it might help him to understand that kagome wasn't worth it to Inu

Yasha.

"So you are the reincarnation of that miko, and now you're more powerful then she ever was?" By now, Sesshomaru

was sitting down against the wall across from her, still not letting his mask slip to show his amazment. "Well, I

wouldn't say I'm more powerful." Kagome said, looking up to see the taiyoukai's response to the rest. "Even if she's

more important, he wouldn't want to watch you die would he?" Kagome gasped when she realized he was going to

kill her. "No, he'll just leav. He'll say 'I'm sorry Kagome,' and run off somewhere to find Kikyo. After calling you

names that is." Kagome sighed when she looked up, trying to read his emotions, but as usual, there weren't any.

"That's all very interesting, but it doesn't change a thing." Sesshomaru stood up and walked towards Kagome who

was still slumped against the wall. She was crying again too. Sesshomaru rolled his eyes before reaching down and

lifting her up. Kagome was shocked when she was standing up again and almost fell over when Sesshomaru let go of

her. "Arigato." Kagome turned and followed him towards the dining room where Rin was.

"Inu Yasha, we have to go now." Sango yelled at the hanyou who was still perched in his tree. "He won't hurt her."

he said. "How do you know that?" Sango retorted, getting very angry. "She's being used." was all he said.
