“More, more. Sing more,” insisted the little angel sitting on her lap. He was practically bouncing. “Pleeaaasssee, Domina.”
She laughed. “You're so impatient, little one. Then again, you always were.”
He looked up into her face and gave her a brilliant smile. “Please,” he said hopefully.
She smiled. “How can I resist with incentive like that? What about you two?” she asked.
Gabriel looked up from his puzzle and nodded. Lafayel, who was trying earnestly to get his nose back from Tsuzuki, not perceiving it was a joke, waved at her and made a grab for his nose again.
“Tsu, give him his nose back,” she said. “It isn't nice to tease him when he doesn't understand.”
“Okay. If you insist,” Tsuzuki said, pouting. He put Lafayel's nose back and grinned at him. Lafayel looked cross eyed at his own nose, happy to see it was there once again.
“It's like I'm with four babies instead of three.”
Gabriel looked up from his puzzle again. “I am hardly a baby, Domina. And neither are the other two. Though they certainly act it. We are officially much older than you are.”
“I know that, Gabriel,” she said gently, reaching out to ruffle his long hair. “You worry too much for a supposed seven year old.”
“My body is technically that of a seven year old. I am still myself.”
“I simply meant that you should enjoy being a child again, Gabriel.”
“He doesn't like being little, Domina. I don't think he likes being a boy either,” Lafayel said, trying to grab Tsuzuki's nose.
“Hmph! You try being a female for several millennia and suddenly become a male.”
“Dominaaaaa,” came the unrelenting voice from her lap.
“Okay, okay, Israfel. Since you insist.”
If all the people lived as one
As if they were a song
A singing out of light
Providing music for the stars
To go dancing circles in the night.

The song is called Hymn to the Russian Earth. I've also heard it called Hymn to the Pagan Earth as well.
