Though he was Nobody and therefore shouldn't be able to feel anything, Axel knew that the burning sensation that coursed throughout the empty shell he called a body was hate. Hate that Sora had changed Roxas, hate that Sora had taken him away again, and hate that Sora was all Roxas was not.

 

But as Axel continuously helped Sora, the burning inferno inside him settled down, and the feeling that only Roxas had been able to awaken awoke.

 

And in those final moments, as he faded, Sora watching, Axel wondered this.

 

Had he lived, would Sora have shown him love?
