Chapter One: The Vampire Prince

 

The moon glowed brightly in the sky, its light allowing anyone who wanted something to walk by. A young man was sitting on the roof of a building. He stared at the moon as if he were in a sort of trance. A few moments later though, he shook his head and stood up, the two charms around his neck jingling from the motion.

 

He ran a hand through his chocolate locks and took one last look at the moon before turning and walking off. He jumped from the building he was on to the next one with ease. The crown and heart necklaces he wore jingled again as he landed on the other building softly. He should have been cold, due to the fact that the wind was blowing harshly, but if he did he made no sign of it and continued jumping across rooftops.

 

He paused on one rooftop to see a drunken man stumble into the alley below him. He didn't hesitate to jump off the roof and landed behind the drunken man. He tapped him on the shoulder and once the man turned around, he held him in what would look like an embrace to others. The man mumbled incoherently before he went rigid, the color draining from his face.

 

He normally didn't like to drink from drunken people; most of the time they had too much alcohol in their system and it threw off the taste. Not to mention that it made him slightly drunk as well. After a minute or two, the man went limp in the other's arms. He set him down against the alley wall; there was no way to tell he had been attacked except for two small puncture marks.

 

But even then you'd have to know where to look or you'd miss it. He backed up and in one quick motion, jumped up to the next roof. The young man's name was Sora, and he had the luck (or lack of luck as he saw it) of being the Prince of the Vampires.
