Chapter Ten: I Guess This Is Goodbye…

 

Sora had been taking care of Riku as best as he could. Running errands, making him food, none of that really bothered him. What did bother him was what he was planning to do once Riku got better. He doubted Kairi would stay out of his life for long. The girl was like a boomerang, always coming back.

 

Sora knocked once on Riku's door before walking inside. “And how's my adorable patient doing?” Riku looked at Sora and smiled. “Better, actually I feel great. I think I can move now. It sucked that every step I took made my gut hurt.” Sora smiled on the outside, but on the inside, he was sad. Guess this is it… “You okay Sora?” “Huh? Oh yeah, I'm fine.” Sora said, walking over to sit next to Riku.

 

Sora turned and kissed Riku. “What was that for?” Riku said after they had parted. “No reason. Hey Riku?” “Yeah?” “Y'know, Kairi may come back…” “Okay and?” Riku said, wondering where this was going. “So I thought I should maybe go back and straighten things out.” “But you'll come back right?” Riku said, not liking the feeling he got when Sora looked away. “Well…” “You can't just leave! You have to come back!”

 

“Riku think about it: a relationship between a vampire and a human would never work.” Sora said, trying to keep himself from sounding sad, but failing at it miserably. “Why not?” “I might bite you in my sleep and I can't outside during the day and-“ Riku turned Sora's head so that he was looking at him. “Sora, I don't give a damn about any of that. I only want you to be with me. I don't care that you're a vampire or if that psycho whore is going to come back. I don't care about any of that. I care about you.”

 

Sora blinked, trying to think of more reasons to leave, but Riku had nullified them all. “I…think I ran out of reasons to leave.” “Good. You're mine Princy.” Riku said, tackling Sora and kissing his neck. “Call me that again and I'll bite you.” “Tempting, but I'll pass.”
