~Chapter 3~
“Yuri!”
“Huh?…”
“Yuri! Help me!”
“Wolfram? Is that you?…”
“Yuri, please! Help me!”
“Wolfram! Where are you?!”
“Yuri…”
“Wolfram!” Yuri forced his eyes open. He looked around franticly, but saw nothing but darkness. The smell of smoke filled his lungs, making him cough uncontrollably. He felt his body being crushed. The weight made it even harder to breath. “What's going on?…” He tried to push himself up, but his arms felt like jelly and gave away, making him fall back down. “What?” He coughed again. “Where am I?”
A creaked filled his ears. He looked around and grabbed onto a piece of wood. “Wait, I'm under a building!?” The structure moaned and creaked some more. It soon hit Yuri as to why the building was making such noises. He franticly tried to crawl out. His arms and legs hurt like hell. He could feel some sort of a wet thick liquid on his legs, but he ignored what it could be and continued to crawl. He saw a slither of light and used all his energy to reach it. It was just big enough for him to slip through. Just as he got his front half out, the building began to moan again. The support beam in the middle of the half pile of rubble cracked and the whole building began to crumble the lower stories as it came crashing down. “Ahh!!!” Yuri pulled his body as hard as he could. He finally got his legs out just as the building crumbled completely.
“Few…” Yuri then heard several people scream. He looked up to see a large beam of wood falling down right above him. “Ahh!!!” He crossed his arms in front of his face as he herd a loud crash. He stayed in that position for a couple seconds until he slowly pulled his arms away and looked to the right of him. The large wooden beam layed parallel to Yuri's body. “Oh… That was close…”
“Your highness!” Conrad ran up to Yuri and lifted his back up. “Are you all right sire?” His eyes showed beyond worried look, his usual calm stature was gone, taken over by fear.
“I'm fine…” He winced at the pain in his legs. He looked down to see that his left leg was completely torn up to where he could even see his own bone. Yuri quickly turned his head the other way, trying not to look at the mess that was once his leg.
“Don't worry Yuri, I'm here, you're safe now.” He picked up Yuri bridle style and carried him over to a white tent where Gisela was standing.
“Your highness! What happened?” She looked over Yuri tattered body.
“I don't really know…” He tried to recall what had happened, when it hit him. “Wait! Where's Wolfram!?”
Gisela looked away, unsure of how to tell Yuri. “He is missing.” Conrad calmly stated. He showed no emotion in his eyes.
“What?! Missing?! We have to go find him!” Yuri struggled in Conrad's arms, trying to get free.
“No your majesty! You must rest and let your wounds heal!” Gisela walked over and opened up the tent. “Lord Weller, please bring his Highness into the tent so we can see to his wounds.”
Conrad brought Yuri in and set him on one of the cots. “Don't worry, Yuri, Wolfram is a trained soldier. He can handle situations like these.”
Gisela injected an herb into his arm as she began to clean out the wounded leg. “I know, Conrad, but… I can't… help but think… something's… wrong…” Yuri's eyes became heavy as he fell asleep.
~*~*~*~*~
Yuri's eyes fluttered open. He looked around and saw that he was in his room in the castle. He sad up and looked around some more. “Oh man, it was all a dream- ow! Huh? What the?…” Yuri pulled away the covers and saw that his leg was bandage up. “Wait a minute…” He looked to his side and threw the covers aside. He gasped when he saw that Wolfram wasn't at his side.
He stumbled out of the bed and leaned agenst the window holding his head as he started to recall what had happened the night before. “Wolfram…” Memories of Wolfram being thrown over someone's back and being dragged away flashed through his head.
“Yuri!”
Tears began to stream down his cheeks. His body began to shake as his legs gave away and he fell to the ground on his knees. “No… Wolfram…” He clenched his hands together as he let his head drop. He could hear Wolframs voice echo through his head. An image of Wolfram flashed through his mind. Yuri grabbed the sides of his head as he flung it back and screamed, “WOLFRAM!!!”
A/N: Well, that's all for chapter 3. I actually like writing this story; I'm especially excited for chapter 4. Since 4 is my lucky number, you know I'm gona put something good in that one. What happened to Wolfram? Will Yuri do anything to find him, or will the pain of loosing his fiancé be too much for him to take? It will all be answered in chapter 4, so stay tuned! XD
