Serenade of Tears Part One-Links Awakening (Ch. 3)
3 Days later
It’s been 3 days Medli thought as she stood next to the window of her house. She was dressed in a loose Blue Tunic that slipped to one side that exposed her left shoulder a little, that she wore for the past 3 days cause her dress was covered with blood. She walked over to the Bed, where link who had been bandaged up, was lying there unconscious, and she picked up a Blue potion and a cotton cloth. Medli applied the potion to the cloth then to a nasty bruise on Link’s Forehead the size of her fist. nothing happened “not again Damn it” She roared slamming the potion down on the nightstand.
“(Voice Breaking) why?!, why won’t it work” She screamed, she started to cry, covering her face by burying it in Link’s semi-muscular chest. As Medli wept, in response to her question Link opened his eyes slowly as if in a daze, putting his right arm around the sincere Rito. “That’s because your doing it wrong, I’m supposed to drink it” he mumbled slowly still in a daze as he grabbed the potion. Medli’s eye’s grew wide as she sat up in confusion and horror as Link downed the fowl Smelling Potion in one gulp. Link Clutched his throat as if it was on fire.
The bewildered Rito sat in amazement as the knot on Link’s head disappeared along with all of his other wounds & bruises. “ugh, Nasty” Link said as he let go of his neck only to be forced back down on the bed with Medli hugging him. “ Oh, Link down Scare me like that, I thought I was gonna lose you” She cried not wanting to let go of him. They didn’t move for five min. Link pulled her up closer and kissed her on the Forehead “ you don’t have to cry anymore, I’m here now, and I plan on staying” Link said putting his arms around her in a protective way which calmed her down a lot.
She stopped crying and smiled, grazed her beak gently on Link’s neck in response. The Pious Rito made her way to his left ear. “link, when did you get an earring?” she cooed. Link looked at Medli who played with his left ear like a cat with a ball of yarn. “ OWW ,STOP?! That does hurt, and it was given to me by a Friend I met on my adventures, but Perished 3 days later” he plea’s. Link points at another blue earring on a necklace saying, “this is all I have left to remember him by”.
Link looks at Medli, her Auburn Hair glistening in the Moonlight, She yawned and drifted in a Slumber. Link got up careful not to disturb her and pulled an extra pair of leggings and an Under shirt out of his bag. He Ripped all of the Bandages off and put the Clothes on. He Strolled back to the bed “ Poor girl, she needs to rest, she’s been working hard to nurse you back to health, the Pious Girl” Laruto said quietly from the ceiling. Link smiled thinking the same thing and pulled back the cover’s over himself & Medli as he got in the bed.
She unconsciously wrapped her arms around him and Link ran his finger’s through her hair and wrapped his right arm around her, kissing her on the forehead and said “Sweet Dreams” . Soon they were both asleep, Laruto appeared ‘ah, the angel and her hero, how sweet. They’ve changed a lot’ she thought as she began to play her ghost harp. As she played the two lovebirds fell into a deeper Sleep. “ah, I shall recite the word’s that brought these two together and the blessing of the time they will spend together”.
“Time passes, people move”
“Like a river’s flow it never ends.”
“A Childish mind will turn to noble ambition.”
“The clear water’s surface reflects growth.”
She switched her soft lullaby to that of the Serenade of water, and as though it were a signal , Link and Medli’s foreheads started glowing in response. On Link’s forehead the symbol of the Forest sage appeared, and on Medli’s a four-pointed Star symbol of the Earth sage appeared and the two symbol’s merged as Laruto played disappearing into the depths of the moonlight.
