Yup chapter 3… I think… ah whatever. I'm too lazy to check. Whatever it is, enjoy it!

Keitaro awoke feeling better than he had in a long time. Every ache and pain he had had been cured, he felt very energetic, but most shocking of all was the fact that Keitaro's eyesight was now blurry. He squinted, trying to see if there was a smudge on his glasses. Finally, he removed his glasses to clean them. What the… when Keitaro removed his glasses, everything came into focus. With a smile on his face, Keitaro threw his glasses onto his bedside table, then walked down to breakfast.

“Good morning everyone!” Keitaro called as he entered the Kitchen.

“Morning Keitaro!” Su responded between mouthfuls of sausage. Haruka looked up from her paper.

“Keitaro, you'll need to clean the house today. It's gotten filthy.” Keitaro hung his head and heaved a sigh.

“Okay, Aunt Haruka.” While he was sulking, Naru noticed he wasn't wearing his glasses.

“Keitaro, did you get contacts?” Keitaro looked up and remembered that he indeed wasn't wearing his glasses.

“Oh, yeah! I did get contacts!” Keitaro laughed nervously, not wanting to raise suspicion. “So, what are we doing today?” he asked trying to change the subject. Motoko spoke up from the back of the room.

“Urishima, I'm training in the garden if you would like to duel me.” Keitaro sweat dropped.

“Oh, well, when if I can finish my chores…” Motoko scoffed.

“Coward.” Keitaro hung his head then walked out of the kitchen to start cleaning.
Keitaro made sure to start in the rooms where no one would bother him, so he could use his newfound power to finish more quickly. When he had finished cleaning all the bedrooms, he started towards the hot springs. Man, these powers may be great, but it's a real burden keeping them a secret… Keitaro was too involved in his thoughts to notice Mitsune as she staggered towards him.

“Well hey there Keitaro!” Mitsune slurred. She held out her arms and fell onto Keitaro.

“M-Mitsune! You're drunk, you shouldn't…uh oh.” To his terror, Keitaro saw a now livid Naru standing right behind him. “N-N-Narusagewa! This isn't what you think!” Naru rolled up her sleeves.

“You never learn!” she drew her arm back for a Naru-punch. Keitaro put his hands over his head. Oh crap! Please no no no no…STOP! Keitaro readied himself for the blow, but nothing came. After a few seconds of suspense, Keitaro lowered his hands. Uhhh… In front of Keitaro was an extremely angry, yet completely still Naru. Her fist was but a few inches from his face.

“Okay, that's weird.” Keitaro said to himself. He turned to see that Mitsune was too frozen in her original place. Keitaro shimmied out from under the frozen girl, who remained suspended in the air. Keitaro raised his eyebrows in realization. “I must have stopped time!” he shouted triumphantly. He got up and waved his hand over Naru's eyes. “Well, guess you're not going to be knocking me into the air today, are you?” Keitaro laughed with glee. “Oh the possibilities…” Keitaro picked up the frozen Naru by the waist and carried her down to the hot springs. When he arrived, he hurled her right above the water, where she stayed suspended. When that was done, Keitaro went off to finish his chores.

About two hours later (or what would have been two hours) Keitaro strolled over to the edge of the hot springs and snapped his fingers. Go. With a jolt, time resumed. Naru brought her fist down, but hit nothing but air. It took her a split second to realize that she was no longer in the hallway. “Wha- AHHH!” Naru let out a yelp as she plunged into the hot springs. Keitaro let out a chuckle.

“You really shouldn't play around near the springs, Naru-San.” Keitaro turned still chuckling, leaving and extremely wet and confused Naru. Keitaro walked down the hall with a new air of confidence. “Chores are done, Aunt Haruka.” He said as he passed her in the hall. She simply looked around the now spotless hallway, dumbfounded. To Keitaro's delight, he found Motoko preparing for her daily sword training. “Motoko, are you still interested in dueling me?” he asked nonchalantly. Motoko looked up in surprise.

“Keitaro? You've grown a spine? Or do you have a death wish?” Keitaro laughed.

“You'll just have to see. What do you say we invite the other tenants to watch?” Motoko was now utterly confused. Why on earth would Keitaro want to invite the others to watch him get beaten? She soon dismissed it as him being stupid.

“Very well, Urishima.”

In a few minutes, the tenants of Hinata Inn had gathered around the garden to watch the match. Naru walked in still drying herself off with a towel. “What is this all about?” she asked. Su sprang up.

“Keitaro and Motoko are having a match, and they wanted us to watch! Go Keitaro!” Naru raised and eyebrow.

“Is Keitaro crazy?! He can't beat Motoko-chan!” she surveyed the garden. “Where is Keitaro, anyway?” Motoko turned towards the others.

“He said he was getting ready. What a fool.” Shinobu and Sarah turned towards Naru.

“Keitaro bet Motoko that if he wins, she had to do the chores for a month!” Sarah exclaimed. Naru looked puzzled.

“And what if he loses?” Motoko grinned.

“Then he's my target practice for a month.” Naru sweat dropped.

“I hope you're ready, Motoko-chan!” everyone turned to see Keitaro standing in the doorway holding an enormous scythe.

“Where on earth did you get that?!” Mitsune asked in astonishment. Keitaro thought of a good lie.

“Oh! I umm… found it in the shed! Now Motoko, are you ready?” Motoko grinned, then grew her sword.

“Let's go, Urishima!” with a yell, Motoko lunged toward Keitaro. Keitaro simply stood where he was, smiling. When Motoko was about to bring her sword down on him, Keitaro snapped his fingers.

“Let's stop there, Motoko.” With a jolt, Motoko and everyone else froze. Keitaro let out a giddy laugh. This rocks! He thought to himself. Keitaro ducked under Motoko's blade and walked behind Motoko. He readied his scythe, and snapped his fingers again. Motoko abruptly brought her blade down where Keitaro had stood just seconds before. Keitaro poked Motoko in the back with his scythe. “Well, would you look at that! It seems I've won, Motoko-chan!” Motoko was so surprised that she dropped her sword.

“U-Urishima…how did you…it isn't possible…I didn't even...” Keitaro gave her a playful pat on the back.

“Don't worry, Motoko-chan, everyone loses sometimes.” With that, Keitaro slung his scythe over his shoulder and walked back into Hinata Inn, stopping only briefly to wink at Naru. She blushed and looked away. He's was so…cool! She thought to herself. Her cheeks burned from both embarrassment and excitement.
Meanwhile, Keitaro had made his way up to the private bath where he now soaked. “That was great!” Keitaro exclaimed. “I actually got to beat Motoko! The look on her face!” Keitaro let out a sigh of happiness.

“I see you're making good use of my powers.” Keitaro was startled by a familiar voice from the other side of the room. When he turned to find the source, he was surprised to find a boy about his age with jet black hair. He wore a fine black suit with a red tie and fine Italian boots. Keitaro's eyes widened.

“…Grim? Is that you? Why do you have…”

“Skin?” he finished. “Well, I thought I would stand out a little if I waltzed in as a living skeleton.” A grin spread over his face. “So, how do you like it?” Keitaro let out a laugh.

“Are you kidding? This is the best thing EVER! I've been able to do everything I've ever wanted to!” he continued to tell Grim about the events that had taken place, leaving out the incident from the night before. When he had finished, Grim sighed with amusement.

“You do seem to be enjoying yourself, though I don't understand why you haven't tried to woo this Naru girl yet.” Keitaro blushed.

“Oh, well, I was going to get to that…” Grim rolled his eyes then walked over to the pool.

“Listen, you need to get over this fear you have and take the plunge. You have the power of the netherworld under your belt for god's sake!” Grim closed his eyes for a split second, then faced Keitaro. “Okay, that Naru girl is heading up her now, so get yourself ready!” before Keitaro could respond, Grim ran over to the roof and jumped over. “See ya!” Keitaro began to yell after him, but heard the door slide open.

“Keitaro? Are you decent?” Keitaro snapped his attention towards the door.

“Yes! You can come in!” Naru slowly came into view. She walked over and sat down on a chair close to Keitaro.

“Hey, I just wanted to congratulate you. I didn't know you were such a good fighter!” Keitaro blushed, then smiled.

“Thanks, Narusagewa.” He took a second to work up his courage. “Hey, Naru, about what I wanted to ask you yesterday…” Naru's ears stared to burn.

“Yes, Keitaro?” Keitaro could feel the butterflies in his stomach become more violent. He took a deep breath, and continued.

“I wanted to know if you'd….if you'd want to go out tonight?” both Naru and Keitaro turned bright red. Naru now felt butterflies in her stomach.

“Keitaro…yes. I would like that very much.” Keitaro's butterflies immediately stopped their fluttering and began to open up kegs of butterfly beer. Keitaro laughed a little in disbelief.

“Great! I'll just go get ready!” he quickly grabbed a towel off the rack, wrapped it around his waist, then started off towards his room. When he was a safe distance away, Keitaro let out a whoop of joy. “THIS IS THE GREATEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!” he yelled.

“Um…” Keitaro whirled around to see Naru holding out his clothes, blushing. “You forgot these.” Keitaro sweat dropped and tried to regain his composure.

“Oh, thanks Naru.” He took the clothes from Naru, then they both headed towards their rooms to prepare, blushing the whole way.
