Chapter Four:Fall to Earth
Allenby and Domon walked together along the streets of New York, having finished their meal, and, deciding what to do next. It was late now, about...midnight, maybe a little earlier. By all respects, they should be off heading to bed. "Domon, you know, we could go and find a hotel, or we could crash at Chibodee's." Allenby suggested, while smiling sweetly at the Japanese fighter. She just..didn't want to see him go now. He had admitted that he no longer loved Rain in the relationship sense, and suggested that it might be time to move on, and, this made her think maybe she had a shot. She couldn't blow that now. Not without at least attempting to win her Domon's heart. That was all that currently mattered to her. At twenty years old, she knew she had found her one and only soul mate. If only she could hold onto that mate.
Domon blinked slightly. A hotel might be full by now. Chibodee's was always available though. "Yeah, we can head to Chibodee's place. I doubt he's going to mind. He's probably not even awake yet." Domon commented chuckling slightly. "Plus, we can stay up there and talk all night if we wanted too. The girls will all be asleep in their rooms, and Chibodee wouldn't wake up if a tornado touched down in his ear." the King of Hearts commented, laughing a lot more now, causing Allenby to also giggle. "Well, come on, Allenby, let's get going back to Chibodee's. After all, knowing are luck if we show up too late he might actually lock the doors, for once in his life."
Allenby nodded, smiling a little, then, without realizing it, took Domon's hand as they walked. When she did notice, she realized Domon was blushing because of it, as was she, even before she knew she had done this. Still she held his hand, while they walked. She was so happy holding Domon close to her like this. Laying her head on his shoulder she continued to walk with him. "Domon, I'm not too sleepy, I think I might just take you up on that talking idea. I've got a lot I want to talk to you about." she explained, smiling happily. Domon nodded. "I mean, it's been so long since we've seen each other, which is mainly my fault. I haven't seen any of you in years, all for such a stupid reason...." she let that slip and suddenly paled. Domon was going to ask what the reason was. And that was, of course, right as they pulled up to Chibodee's home that she had said that. 'Fuck...' she thought.
"What's the reason, Allenby?" he asked as they walked in, and he sat down on the couch, as did Allenby. "I mean... it must be important if you didn't come see me....us... for all these years."
Allenby sighed softly. "It was because of...you." she said softly. Domon looked hurt. Allenby quickly corrected herself. "Not because I stopped liking you as a friend, it was because...." she had to fess up now. No other choice. "Because I could only care about you as a friend Domon...." she explained. "I still care about you, just the same as I did back then. I..I love you, Domon Kasshu, King of Hearts." she sighed out, feeling a few tears well up in her eyes, and let themselves gently grace her beautiful face, before sliding down to the floor of Chibodee's garage/apartment. "I'm sorry, but, with Rain around, it just would have killed me to be around you...I was so jealous that I couldn't see how selfish I was being..."
Domon just sat there in shock for a long moment of silence. How could he answer with anything after hearing that? Allenby Beardsly, the beautiful fighter from Neo-Sweden, still loved him. After all these years. She hadn't been with anyone else, because in her heart she still loved him. What the Hell can you say to something that big..? Domon sighed slightly. "Allenby...I..honestly have no clue what to say. I mean, you mean so much to me, I consider you above a friend. I just... never thought you'd still love me after this long. I..wish I knew how I felt Allenby. I care for you a lot, and I would be willing to start a relationship with you, if you wanted, but... I'm not sure about love yet...I..I'm sorry...." he said, lowering his gaze to the floor. This is where The King of Hearts should be smacked, have the girl storm out of his sight, and hear 'I hate you, Domon Kasshu, I never want to see you again!'
"Okay, Domon...then....will you date me...?" she asked timidly, looking up at Domon with shining green eyes, fresh with tears. Tears that kept coming down her cheeks. Getting the chance to maybe, just maybe, hear that Domon loves her back was enough for her right now. She just wanted to know that...Domon cared for her. Even if for a short while, to know that...she could say she was with the man she loved, it would be enough. Closing her eyes she awaited his response, praying that he would indeed agree.
Domon just looked at the saddened girl, smiling slightly. He would answer her, with, the best way he could think of. Leaning closer to Allenby, he gently placed his hands on her shoulders, causing her to open her eyes and stare almost lost into his golden brown orbs. Now, all he had to do was answer her, now that he had her attention. Closing his eyes, Domon gently moved his face closer to Allenby's, at first confusing the girl until she felt his lips meet with her's...instantly shutting her eyes and letting her relax, almost as a kitten being petted would purr. Hell...if Allenby had been kissed any longer she might purr, but, Domon pulled back after a moment, smiling a little. "I'd be honored to Allenby..."
With that, Allenby smiled, snuggling closer to Domon, not moving, in fear that this was a dream. She wouldn't let this dream fade if it was one. Laying her head against Domon's chest, she still cried, tears of happiness, but also of fear. After a short time though her tears stopped as she drifted off into sleep, against Domon still, who was also drifting to sleep, with a slightly surprised Chibodee watching on. "I can't believe they finally got together..." he muttered, grinning a little before heading back to his room to get some rest.
*~*A small farm, outside of Washington.*~*
A young farmer sat on his tractor, tending to his crops, while taking a small break to look at the sky. It was late, but he had a lot of work to do still on this night, and was working hard to accomplish his work on his apple farm. "I've worked so hard these last few days....I hate having to do this. I might as well get some sleep." he said, turning off the tractor and hopping off, heading back to his home, heading to bed. As he opened his door he spotted what looked like a shooting star. He thought about it, and decided to make a wish. "I don't want to work on this farm, I want me and my family to be set for life." he said, sighing softly. As he realized this "star" was getting closer he soon began to worry. Quickly and without warning a large object hit the ground a few miles from his home, creating a huge crator, almost the size of his farm itself. Fearing the idea of going to see what it was, he told himself it was just a meteor crashing to earth or something, or perhaps a Gundam coming down for the Gundam Fight, and went back into his home to his wife and children.
Where the crator was now formed, something certainly had stung the Earth. Not a falling star though. It was infact a Gundam. One holding enough power to demolish that place. It was the Dark Gundam, once more formed totally. However, the pilot it had worked to create was not there. He had landed just outside of the Gundam. There lay Kyoji Kasshu. Alive and well once more. His body was also, unlike one would expect, devoid of Dark Gundam cells. A natural, human man. This, by all means, should have been impossible, but here he was. He was fine. "Ugh....Domon....where are you?" he asked. The last thing he remembered was his brother killing him. Turning around he saw it. There lay the Dark Gundam. It was just as when he originally fell with it. Totally destroyed from impact. But this time, he wouldn't give it the right to take him as it's tool. He didn't know how he was alive, and wondered how the Dark Gundam could have reconstructed him not using DG cells, but didn't question it just now. Now, he ran. Ran toward the nearest town, whereever it might be. He felt something calling him...something was in New York that he had to go to. He knew this to be Chibodee's home, but maybe, just maybe, Domon was there now. Surprisingly being fully clothed, the Dark Gundam had really set him up well, and, with that, he ran. He didn't know what was going on, but he'd find out soon.
*~*Back in New York, the next Morning*~*
It was around nine in the morning when Domon and Allenby woke up, mainly because they smelled food. Someone was cooking them breakfast, which was a surprise. Chibodee wasn't the chef type, nor were any of his live in mechanic girls. That left only one person. "Morning Bro!" Sai shouted happily from the kitchen. There he was, cooking eggs, pancakes, and bacon. Something that no one knew was in his recipe book. Maybe Chibodee told him what they were and had him make them. "It's about time you two woke up, all of us have been awake for hours!" he explained, flipping a pancake up into the air and catching it on his spatchula.
Scattered around the house was the Shuffle Alliance, as well as all their support from their nations. Argo and Natasha were having a nice conversation about some modifications to Bolt Gundam, while Marie-Louise was constantly making George blush, and Janet, Cath, Bunny, Shirley and Chibodee were all working on Gundam Maxter, which seemed to be offline at that time. The only person who didn't have his support crew with him seemed to be Sai. "Sai, where are Keoi and Zuisen? You didn't go and pick them up?" he asked blinking a little. Everyone else brought their support crews, why would Sai leave the monks back at the temple when he was here..?
"We are right here Mr. Domon." The Monks said from right behind Domon, causing him and Allenby to both fall off the couch.
"Geez, you had to ask, Domon." Allenby muttered, fwapping him playfully.
"Hey, love birds, quit it, breakfast is ready!" Sai shouted, looking back from the kitchen. Domon and Allenby immediately crimsoned. They hadn't told anyone, since they had just woken up and all. "Did you think we weren't going to know that you two were together?" he asked grinning a bit as he pulled out all the plates, setting them down on the table and putting food on all of them. Sai surely was an amazing cook, he had cooked for six Gundam Fighters and eight crew members all in such a short time. "Chibodee spotted you two last night being all lovely dovey, Bro." he said before sitting down at the table they had set up.
Both Domon and Allenby just sat at the table, blushing insanely while their friends all laughed and teased them, until Princess Marie-Louise then said something. "It's just too bad my dear George won't admit he loves me..." which caused the teasing to immediately turn to the knight of the de Sand family, who immediately did enough blushing for Domon and Allenby. This at least eased some of the teasing on those two, giving them enough time to eat their meal before the others would bother them again.
However, all the teasing ended when a knocking came at the door to Chibodee's home. "What the Hell..? Everyone of my customers know we don't open today. And it's too early to be mail delivery." Chibodee muttered, standing and walking over to the door. A few punks had tried to rob this place before, so, he was ready just in case. Opening the door, it was something none of the fighters were ready for. It wasn't robbers, it wasn't a customer. There was Kyoji Kasshu..."How in the Hell....." was all Chibodee could mutter as he saw the "ghost" before him. He rubbed his eyes once, but still he remained there. "What the Fuck is going on.........?!" was all he could mutter out this time before backing up in shock.
"Brother!?!?!" Domon screamed, leaping from his chair and running to Kyoji, who faintly smiled. "How...why...? You're dead, this can't be...Kyoji...what's going on...?" he asked in shock, tears welling in his eyes, more from shock, but also pain. This couldn't be happening. His Brother, as well as Schwartz were both dead. He couldn't be seeing either of them, for he had killed them both. Backing up, Domon fell, staring up at the man before him. Kyoji still seemed to be his twenty-eight year old self, smiling at his brother, being there as a protector again...but, no one could explain how except for Kyoji himself...
"Domon, I know what you're thinking. I'm supposed to be dead. I'm really not sure that I'm not. But, brother, the Dark Gundam is alive..." he says grimly, causing each of the people in that home to jump up astonished. "Obviously there was enough of it alive, to not only reconstruct itself, but me as well. Yet...there are no DG cells on my body. I don't understand it...but... I am alive again." he explained. Then, grimly he spoke once more. "I assume killing the Dark Gundam for good will mean killing me for good. I've come to the conclusion that, if there is anything at all left of this Gundam our father created, it'll come back full force. So...we must find the Dark Gundam, and kill it...as well as myself." he said coldly, almost without any emotion.
Domon looked almost angry. "Kyoji, I won't let you die again..." he said. "I had to kill you once, trying to save the Earth and it did nothing, I can't do it again! I will not let you die again, I cannot!" he yelled, standing and grabbing his brother by his jacket, attempting to shake some kind of sense into him. "However you're alive, it's for a reason, not to die again!" he yelled, but Kyoji just stayed silent. "Admit it Kyoji! You know you're alive for a good reason and you want to give up time we could have together just to save the Earth! We can defeat the Dark Gundam without killing you this time, I know it!" he yelled, but Kyoji pushed his brother off of him, looking away.
"I was reborn to pilot the Dark Gundam, Domon. It rebuilt me to be the vessel it uses to destroy mankind. That is why I must die with it. I do not belong here. I am meant to be with Mother, and with Schwartz. I wish I could stay with you brother, but we must seek out the Dark Gundam, destroy it, and kill me with it. That's the only way." he said. "I'm not the real Kyoji, I'm a re-creation. When I die, no soul will go on to the next life, for I'm already there. Do you understand now, Domon?" he asked, trying to hold back any show of emotion toward his brother. It was true, what he had said, but he still felt the pain that this was going to hurt his brother so badly. "I'm sorry, but I am not Kyoji Kasshu, Domon. I'm a shell of your brother's form. Now you must take me to the Dark Gundam and destroy me with it." he said. Still as mature as ever, Kyoji was willing to give up his second chance to make sure no one died because of his existence. He wouldn't allow another sacrifice like the one his Mother had made for him...not another like that.
"Domon, your brother is right." George said. He was the only one willing to speak at this moment. "We must defeat this new Dark Gundam, with him. It'll be hard, but there seems to be no other alternative here." he says, closing his eyes and sighing. "We've all seen so much bloodshed on this battlefield, and I too wish we could avoid this, but, as he told you, he is not Kyoji, he is, in turn, much like Schwartz was. This is a painful situation the fates have sent us, but we have no choice my friend. This is what must be done." George said softly, helping his friend to his feet once more after Kyoji had pushed him to the ground.
Domon stared at George, pale in his face, but nodded weakly. "A..All right. Kyoji, where was the Dark Gundam when you first found it...?" Domon asked weakly, his entire body shaking, and George noticed this, so stayed firm holding his friend up, knowing he'd fall to the ground if he did not.
"Washington. That's what they told me when I caught a flight here." Kyoji told them. "Now, we must all go there. No, wait...it's probably moved on by now. It might even be waiting for us now." he said. "If only Shadow Gundam were still around, I could at least help you guys..." he muttered. But Schwartz's Gundam was probably destroyed, or taken back by Neo Germany. "Well, we can't just stay here talking...come on...we have to go." he said sighing.
"Wait, Kyoji...we do have something you could use. The Rising Gundam was rebuilt by our father. It's not much...but...we could go get it." Domon said softly. "I don't think Rain's planning on using it anytime soon." Domon explained, sighing softly. But just then a loud crashing, almost like a landing of some sort brought everyone's attention to outside. "What the...?" Domon shouted, then ran outside, only to see the Rising Gundam landing right before them, and the cockpit opening, revealing the pilot to come out was none other than Rain Mikamura herself..."Rain...? What are you doing here?" he questioned, blinking confusedly.
Rain smiled slightly as she made her way down. "Your Father told me you were all here when I went to visit...and..." Rain suddenly turned white. There was Kyoji. But...how? "Kyoji? How is he alive..?" she asked, feeling slightly faint. "I must have missed out on something....." Rain said almost in shock. "Domon....what's going on!?!" she asked, falling forward, fainting immediately, only to be caught by Domon.
"Domon..leave her here. She shouldn't be on the battlefield when we face the Dark Gundam. She went through enough because of that beast." Kyoji said, taking the unconscious Rain from his brother, and placing her on the couch inside Chibodee's home. "Now, let us go." Kyoji said, looking up to the Rising Gundam. It looked the same as always. He hadn't ever piloted it, but he figured it wouldn't be too hard. Climbing into it, he signaled for the otherss to all go round up their Gundams. Everyone did so quickly, making the attack team consist of Rising Gundam, Burning Gundam, Dragon Gundam, Gundam Maxter, Gundam Rose, Bolt Gundam, and Nobel Gundam. And with all the fighters assembled... there was nothing else to do, but go forth, and find their enemy. With Rain in the care of the support crews, everyone knew she'd be fine, even if they didn't make it back. This really could turn out to become a suicide mission.....but that was the life of the Gundam fighters. And at least for Kyoji, it wouldn't be the first death he had suffered. With all this known, the Gundams flew off toward the last known location of the Dark Gundam.
*~*~*~*
I know it may seem stupid of me to bring back Kyoji, and it seems he has no DG cells on him. This will be explained, however. And who knows, maybe Kyoji will stick around, and then again, maybe not. Kyoji is my second favorite character, and that is why I put him back in here, so maybe if I get enough good reviews for this chapter, the elder Kasshu son will be around for good.
