`Til Death Do Us Apart
Heaven…
“No way…” Naruto muttered, stepping from the grass. Their was the coolest breeze. The scent so beautiful practically made him high; the sun was so warm, the place was so wonderful. There were rolling hills of green grass up to your knees and higher, a small, round shack, vines climbing up the sides.
The sky was a beautiful blue, clouds rolling by lazily. The colors were amazing, a giant lake sat in front of him. A cobble stone side walk coming from the shack out to the lake where stones made a passage across the lake. Green vines snaked from the ground up the stones, giant pink, purple, yellow, blue flowers blossomed left and right. It seemed even the sun had color.
Naruto's stomach did flips, a feeling of overwhelming joy burst through him. Tears coursed down his face and yet, he was unashamed. His father…his mother. The people he had longed to know all his life, the family he had prayed for all his life. He turned and gazed at the man he never knew, but looked up to even before he knew he was his father.
He was radiant; his skin was translucent, like an angel. He shined divinely, his blue eyes glowed mesmerizing. His face was flawless, he had no shame, had no pain. He was all grins. His hair was almost as bright as the sun and Naruto knew he could stare at his father forever.
“Wow…” was all he could mutter, eyes wide in amazement. His father barked a laugh and wrapped his arms around his son.
His fathers scent engulfed him, and tears sprang anew. He clutched tightly to the man he loved so much, the man he longed for, prayed for, cried for, the man's face imprinted in his brain the first time he saw his picture. Naruto's head feel on his shoulder, sobbing before finally, they pulled apart.
His father had been crying too.
The tears looked alive, unlike anything Naruto had ever seen in his life. They were bright and shinned with the light from the sun, down a lustrous face. They both grinned, almost completely identical.
“You're not going to give me a hug?” Naruto turned and gasped. She was short, long brown hair curly like a wild thing, curled down her back. Her eyes were blue as well, her whole figure glowing just like his father's.
She was beautiful.
She was his mother.
He swept the short thing into his arms without a second thought. Her laugh was harmonious and joyful as he spun them around. The laughing was so amazing.
He put her down and gazed at his two parents.
“Oh boy…” Was all he could mutter before the happiness was too much and, unashamed, he leapt into the air, whooping and hollering.
“So, this is Heaven…” Naruto muttered, sitting on one of the rocks in the middle of the lake. He starred down at the fish, big and small, swimming beneath him. He reached down and touched one. It did not scurry away lightening fast, but instead brushed up against him, its rainbow colors glinting in the light.
A whale wafted past happily, a shark right behind it. The shark surged forwards and swam into a school of glinting and shinning fishes, racing the dolphin that swam beneath it.
Naruto smiled.
He loved this place.
He loved it so much, sometimes he would just burst out crying.
“Amazing, isn't it?” Arashi murmured next to him. He pets a jelly fish, its once poisonous tails wrapped around is fingers in a gentle embrace. Naruto starred, just completely overwhelmed.
“I thought animals didn't go to Heaven?” Naruto asked, and Arashi shrugged.
“I don't know if these things were alive at one time, but He says He loves everything He makes…” Arashi grinned at the turtle as it rubbed its head against his perfect hand. And alligator sat on shore some distance away, bathing in the wonderful sun. A deer ran up next to it, its mother jumped out behind it, another then. They leapt around the lazily Alligator, which ignored them, closing its eyes, used to the hyper things.
A hippo rose from the water then and seemed almost to grin. The Alligator gave it a glance before rolling its eyes, as if they could speak to each other.
A manatee, unscarred or hurt, rose from the water, a water snake slithered threw, winding up the manatees body for a ride.
Naruto watched a lion wander up to the lake, a fawn galloping up next to it, leaping around it, as if to play. The lion nudged the small thing aside with its nose, to get some water behind it. The baby deer made a joyful noise, and leapt up and down.
Naruto laughed. Arashi grinned next to him. They watched the Panthers, leopards, cheetahs, frolic with the rabbits, wolves, mouse, cats, birds of every size and shape, winging threw the air.
“Wow…” Naruto said and Arashi laughed.
“Naruto!” Someone shouted and Naruto turned to Sakura, waving at him, standing next to the alligator being playfully harassed by the deer's and laughed at by the hippo. Naruto gasped and leapt up.
“Sakura!” He shouted and was about to leap off before he turned to his dad.
Arashi grinned and nodded.
“Go ahead, I'll still be here.” Naruto turned and leapt on rock after rock.
“Naruto!” He grinded to a halt and turned to his dad, who was laughing at him. “Just, go!” He pointed across the lake and Naruto paused.
“Just…go?” He looked at the water. It was deep, you couldn't see the bottom, but you could see the shadows of underwater creatures, could see the glint of glow-in-the dark squids and jellyfish.
Tentatively, he stepped out.
It was strange; his toes sank in until they were covered. Then, he stopped. He could feel the sway of the sea, the cool of the water, the brush of fish against his feet, but it was also like cement. He grinned and looked to his dad, who had his legs all the way in the water, bathing them in its refreshing temperature.
“This is craziness!” Naruto hollered before running across the river, using his speed. The water kicked up behind him. He jumped over manatees and turtles. Dolphins raced beside him and a shark jumped up in front of him, but he leapt over it, laughing. Sakura smiled gently as Naruto leapt from the lake…and tripped over the waves of water.
He landed face first next to Sakura, who shook her head.
“Same old Naruto.” She muttered, before kneeling down next to him.
She was so pretty, pink hair straight, short, falling around her face like silk, green eyes glowing, much like his mom and dad's. Her skin glowed warmly and he had the urge to reach out and graze his fingers over the skin, wondering if it was silk.
“Hey, dumby.” She said, smiling. Naruto grinned. He jumped up and wrapped is arms around her.
The last time he saw her, she was stuck to a tree; a sword threw her stomach, feet off the ground. She was crying with pain, the death was terribly slow. She had been there for hours, and finally just gave up.
He had had no time to cry at that time, the Akatsuki's monster was nearing Konoha and they had to get all the people out.
She seemed fine, enough to laugh and grin and smile now. There was no more pain. No more hurt.
“Wow, Sakura, you're gorgeous.” Naruto told her, and she walked to the Alligator, which gave her a quick glance, before shutting its lazy eyes again. She sat on its back.
“Your not half bad yourself, Naruto. How do you like it?” She motioned to the world around her. Naruto smiled a hand on his hip.
“Not as I would ever imagine it. Hey, hey! I met my mom and dad! It was amazing!” He told her, suddenly ecstatic. Sakura turned her head to the water, watching the women walk to her husband and sit next to him. She nodded.
“Yeah, I'm happy for you. My parents are here too. This place is so overwhelming, so wonderful. I've never been so happy to be dead.”
“Not that you've been dead before.”
“No, but I've feared it. Cried because I wanted to live. You know, I don't remember anything like that.” She watched him as he stepped closer, falling to his butt in the grass and sitting Indian style. The Alligator slept on peacefully. Naruto gave her an inquisitive look.
“Like what?” He asked.
“How I died. I know I was in pain, but I hardly remember any pain. The joy here is so great it takes over all negative thoughts. I love it. I'm here with my family and friends.” Suddenly, she let out a sly smile. “Let's go see them.”
They were running, down the cobble stone walkways over grown but beautiful, threw a long row of trees, their purple, yellow, green, red, orange and all other colored blossom letting out their wonderful scent. Birds flew with them as they ran. Rabbits ran beside them, eager for the race. They laughed and smiled but never ran out of breath. They could run like this forever.
They broke threw the trees and past a wonderful forest, trees on every side, panthers resting in their branches, fruit hanging, making Naruto's mouth water.
They then broke threw the forest and soft sand was between Naruto's toes. He stopped and looked around.
