Michael stood a towering 9 feet, tall and beautiful, curly brown locks on his head. He wore a robe that wrapped around his body and seemed so light, like silk, almost floating around his seemingly transparent, glowing skin. He had a belt around his waist, a sword in its hilt, long enough to stick out far behind him. He had a metal thing that wrapped around is neck, and Naruto assumed it was armor that disappeared beneath his robe.
Man, nothing compared. His dad, Kiba, Hinata, Kakashi…we're all ugly compared to this angel.
His wings were translucent and see threw, but giant, able to have a wings span of maybe 5 or six feet for each wing. He was intimidating, to admit. Frightening and beautiful all at the same time.
He smiled.
“You remind me of my Father.” He said his voice like rain, like water; strong and gentle, crashing, overwhelming, but calming and quiet. Naruto had to swallow to wet his dry throat, overwhelmed with Michael's presence. Michael chuckled; his melodious voice echoed around them as they walked across the ground of Earth.
Naruto felt something ripping at him and knew. He wanted to go back to Heaven. Earth sucked, life sucked, Hell sucked even worse. It was horrible, this dread. It was similar to how he felt when he was ten, standing front of the class trying to give a presentation and only hearing whispers and derogatory language thrown around about him.
The dread he felt when he would try to play with the kids in the play ground and the hurt that ripped threw his gut when they gave him looks and ran away, leaving him alone.
How he felt life wasn't worth it when he sat on that swing all alone, feeling the looks and people laughing at him. Sometimes they threw rocks at him and spit balls.
He had never seemed so alive in Heaven.
Heaven was almost like the first time Iruka had bought him Ramen. Or the first time Sasuke went to him for comfort. Or when he had been elected Hokage…he smiled sadly, knowing Sasuke had only been around a couple years into his Hokage-hood.
“No need to be sad, Little One.” Michael said, turning and sitting is strong, bronzed hand upon Naruto's head on blond hair. Normally, this would irritate him, but he felt honored instead. Goosebumps broke out on his skin. This angel that had been the first to exist had been there when God had created man and had seen he rise and fall of the people. Had seen the Lord suffer under the whip, and wept at his death. “I am confident you will bring Sasuke back to us. You have the honor and love you need to get you threw this.”
Naruto nodded. “Thanks.”
Michael stopped and Naruto finally smelt that horrible stench that sent his eyes watering. He covered his sensitive nose from the smell of decay, fire, brimstone. He looked up through watery eyes and saw a giant mountain. Behind it, were screams of agony and suffering. Fire spit over the top and the smell became worse. Naruto put his hands down, making himself become used to it. He could already feel the heat. He trembled.
“Do not be afraid, Little One. He is with you.” Michael said and pointed to the mountain. “Go quickly.” Naruto nodded and ran. He ran and ran, across the dry, desolate waste lands and felt it getting hot. He wondered if it would be anything like the way he died, the way the lightening had burned him to death.
He arrived at the mountain and grabbed the stone. He yelped in pain, the brimstone burning hot. He hissed and looked at his palm. It was pink, slightly moist. Man that had worked fast.
He longed for Heaven, but knew he would never be happy without Sasuke there. Determined, he growled and stepped up. He tapped into his speed that he had on earth and blasted up the mountain. He stepped on boulders steaming hot, leaping side to side. The hot air practically burning his lungs like fire. His throat became scratchy and the air seemed poisoned.
He panted, physically hurt because of the air so hot, so hurtful whipping past him, in him. He had to stop and kneeled on a boulder, panting, trying to not hurt himself anymore. He looked behind him.
Michael still stood there, watching, him, nodding supportively. Naruto smiled, newly determined, turning to the mountain top and frowned. It still seemed so far up.
`No, no I can't give up. God, please, give me the strength to get just up this mountain.' He closed is eyes, prayed more, and opened them. Not red, but blue eyes, no jinchuuriki, no Kyuubi to support him. For the first time ever he felt truly independent. There was no reason to ridicule him any longer. Grinning, he leapt from his spot on the rocks, to another, immediately off of that.
He was determined to get to the top of the mountain before he stopped again. His lungs started feeling it as the smell of decay became stronger, he could taste it, making him resist the impulse to gag.
Suddenly, a rock slipped from his weight and Naruto slipped. On impulse he reached up and grabbed a rock. Its jagged edge sliced threw Naruto's hand and he yelped in pain. The burning started seeping into his flesh and he clenched his teeth in pain.
“Oh, God!” He shouted in pain. He heard the fading clack and smash of rocks falling behind him. Groaning in pain, he reached his other hand up and swung himself onto the small protrusion. He had to jerk his hand from the rock. Hissing he looked at the same hand he'd burnt before to see no blood leaking out. Just red and pussing.
Growling, he looked up and let out a cry of pain.
It needed to be let out.
“Ugh, that hurts like a mother!” He ground out, still clutching his throbbing hand. Mad, he looked to the jagged edge and saw blood coating it. “You stupid little piece of…” He hissed at it.
He quickly realized he was wasting his time and growled at the edge angrily before looking up. He saw many cliff edges, but most were edgy (surprise), as in would fall easily. Narrowing his eyes, he grabbed the white linen belt of his loose, white pants with white slippers and pulled it from around his waist. He hissed as he wrapped it around his now bleeding hand.
Setting his strength, he leapt from the edge and onto a boulder jutting from the wall. He landed and immediately it started rumbling with his weight. It rolled from its place and Naruto gasped, leaping from the boulder to the next rock, which he knew was a mistake, because it broke under his weight.
He lost his grip on the rock as it fell, the gravity pulling down strongly. The crumbling and shaking of falling rocks loosened the rocks above and it became an avalanche. Having encountered this before he let himself fall until his feet touched a rock. The wind whipped past him, ruffling his white T-shirt as he leapt strongly. The rock fell faster beneath him as he jumped off the side of a giant falling rock.
He landed on the mountain, shaking and trembling from the avalanche, and ran up, small rocks inhibiting his running up the mountain by making him trip and fall. Sighing in frustration, he jumped up onto a boulder, and, feeling it slip away, jumped up to a nearby cliff and, sending chakra into his feet, landed on the side. The cliff creaked and he clutched the side. He shouted in pain.
Why is it always the same hand?
He looked up, the apex near. Narrowing his eyes, he leapt away, swerving between the jumping, leaping, tumbling boulders. He felt the air as they whipped past, his loose clothes rippling strongly in the wind. The air seemed like needles on is throat and lungs and often tried to keep from breathing before being forced to.
A boulder hit a protrusion and jumped. Naruto ducked under, one right behind it, much heavier, just crushed the protrusion, rolled towards him. He leapt up. About of foot of space between the top boulder in the air and bottom on the floor that he barely scrapped through his stomach, unmarred by any black markings, making a red burning mark. The wind quickly cooled it as Naruto flipped and landed on the mountain. Rocks slid passed and a rectangular boulder bounced passed and over him. He grimaced; having never saw it coming and thought about how it could have mowed him over.
Finally, the last boulder rumbled past, and Naruto took his chance. He leapt the last mile and landed atop the mountain. He grabbed his jacket, took it off, and ripped some fabric, regretting that he was ripping clothe from heaven, and tied it around the bottom half of his face.
He felt a little like Kakashi.
He starred down in dread at the land that was cloak with fire and bodies. The dry land had deep cracks that glowed yellow and red, giving a peak at the lava that moved just below the surface. In some places, the lava would bubble and pop to the surface, creating a shower of red hot lava. What made it even worse were the people laying around, burning, but not dying.
He closed his eyes. `God, please don't let Sasuke be down there.' He reopened them and watched in disgust as people lay on the floor and bubble of lava would pop next to them, and they were showered in heat. They screamed in agony as skin was burned, but they never died, just had their flesh decay and burn around them.
He breathed and blasted from the mountain. He raced down the cliff side, jumping over protruding edges and boulders, he narrowed his eyes and sulfur burned their white, dying them red. The shirt was making it perfect to breath, but without the protection, but his arms and torso were burning up, sweat dribbled down his head and arm pits, dripping down his chest and stomach.
He landed on the ground and realized there was no way he could walk in here. So, he ran, his feet barely touching the earth, but not fast enough to kick up ground, in case he caused the lava to come up. He didn't want to cause these people any more pain, they were going to get it for the rest of eternity.
He searched as he leapt around, but most of these people were barely recognizable, their faces burned black. He looked forwards and his eyes shot wide when a large lava bubble appeared only a couple feet in front. He jumped high into the air, the bubble popped. Little sprays were thrust everywhere and Naruto leapt away. Another bubble and Naruto felt a few land on his arm.
He screamed in pain, and rubbed it as he fell to the ground. A third degree burn, his skin singed black. Oh, that hurt more than his hand did. His eyes watered, but immediately evaporated, the atmosphere taking as much water as it could, including sweat. He made himself get over it and raced across the land, leaping over lava bubbles as they're droplets sprayed around him.
Naruto jumped across the terrible landscape, looking left and right for Sasuke, no one recognizable anywhere. He was looking around when something grasped his foot. He stopped and looked back. The person was charred black, its body halfway in the lava.
“Please!” He screamed, and Naruto felt a pain rip through his insides. He felt something on his ankle and looked down. Where the man had grabbed him, his skin so charred it had come off on his foot. He gasped and went to rub it off.
“Oh, please!” The man screamed in agony as the lava ate at his legs that seemed never to just come off. Naruto closed eyes, but couldn't leave. Jumping forwards, he gingerly took the mans arm and, as he pulled, the skin slid off. The man screamed and Naruto dropped the skin. There was nowhere the man wasn't charred. He panted, overwhelmed by the pain.
Heaven! He wanted away from this place! Please! Take me back! Naruto shook his head and went to reach for the man when he screamed starring behind him. Naruto turned and there stood the biggest, ugliest troll he'd ever seen, his feet covered in thick material along with is hands and legs.
It swung its club back, and then snapped it forwards, it slammed right into Naruto's scrapped up gut, sending him flying backwards. He skid along the boiling hot ground. His back ripping as he slid on the rocks. He quickly picked himself up, ignoring the pain.
The troll was right in front of him.
He was quick.
He slammed down his club from above, slamming Naruto's head into the floor. He quickly picked himself up and punched the thing in the gut, knocking it back a couple steps. It seemed surprised, like most of the people that arrived could not fight back.
Naruto picked himself up and glared at the towering troll, fisting his wrapped right hand.
