“Aaahhhhhh, whatever,' he folded his hands back behind his head and shrugged his shoulders out against the ground, ”Really, I don't know what you were thinking. Damn women, always making trouble.” Honestly all he wanted to do was spend the day in the shade, watching the sky. Today was a nice day out, a good breeze, not too many clouds in the sky, but not too few to watch. A nice day.

Then she'd come and tried to ruin it.
------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------

“Hey you lazy bastard! Rematch while I'm in town!” She'd yelled from about six feet away.
“Oh damn it, why do you think I'm out here in the middle of nowhere?” he wouldn't have bothered with talking, except that it would probably make things easier in the long run. Maybe she'd actually listen and go away, leaving him to his bird watching and cloud gazing. “I knew you were in town, so I came out here to stay out of your way. I don't like fighting girls anyways, so no, no rematch all right?”

Then she slammed that fan on the ground.

“No it's not all right! I said rematch, so we Rematch! I don't care if you like fighting women I owe you a good beating and-“ she had been holding her fan on her right side, and pointing with her left finger at him angrily while she ranted. Her mouth stopped suddenly and her eyes darted around.

His hands weren't under his head anymore. Instead they were held in the sign of his trademark technique in front of him.

“Ahh, so noisy. So you came out here for a rematch, in the afternoon, while I'm sitting in the shade of a tree, you interrupt my day while I've got a shadow this big… go away Temari, from under here I could probably catch you if you were across town.” There, now that she knew how hard a time she'd have against him now she'd go away, right? It's not like he enjoyed bragging or anything, but the straw haired, nicely curved, busty….*sigh* the straw haired girl knew better than to get herself in too much trouble. That's all that any of this could be: trouble. “That's enough for you right?” he opened one eye a little to look at her as he said it,” you'll leave me be right?” He knew she couldn't answer, her mouth wouldn't move, so without waiting he let his hands come apart, “There, you're free, now you can-“ “SLICING WINDS TECHNIQUE!”

Dammit.

He jumped to the other side of the tree to avoid the barrage of edged wind.

“You don't scare me you sexist, lazy, dark minded prick! You thought you could intimidate me into leaving? No way bastard, I owe you a beating, like I said, and I'm not leaving till you get it.” Her chest was already heaving with quick breath. God damn but he made her mad and not that she'd ever admit it to anyone, but there was defiantly something dangerously erotic about getting caught by his shadow techniques. No, she defiantly wasn't going to cut this fight short, hell, she'd only taken the mission out here in the first place for the chance to catch the pony tailed chuunin. Before she'd yelled at him, she'd taken the area into account, Shikamaru had been lounging in the shade of a tree that topped a small hill, there was a real tree line behind him, about 30 yards east of her position. Behind her there was only knee height grass. The only shadow Shikamaru had to play with was the one from the tree, no holes in the ground this time, no surprises. She'd see the shadows coming, and she could dodge them.

“I know your tricks this time boy; you're not going to catch me.” He'd have to say something, have to stall and try to buy time to plan things, right? “Well? Come on!”

However, on the other side of the tree, Shikamaru had already let himself stare out into space, a terribly pained look on his face. Perfect day, going to go to waste. With a long-suffering sigh he stood up completely, and started to do hand seals. Temari wasn't one for much patience, so she figured if he wouldn't come out from behind the tree, she'd just get rid of the tree. She reared back to give a more powerful Slicing Winds strike and remove the only cover the boy had when she got that now familiar twinge in her ankle.

“No…” and that was all she got out. Caught again!? Already?

He calmly walked around to her side of the tree again. She was stuck, not following him, just Stuck. The shadows hooks were in her. Her heart sped up, this wasn't the vaguely erotic restraint she remembered. This was something different, something more dangerous. Something Much More to her liking. A shiver would have chased her spine if she could have moved at all.

“You probably thought you had me in a good place to fight, you'd have been right except that the grass is tall enough that its shadow is big enough for me to grip too.” He said without malice, he just sounded annoyed and bored, really put out. “It's kind of a pain, but I didn't think you were going to leave after all. Anyway, this isn't shadow imitation, as you should have guessed by now, it's a new one I made, I just call it Shadow Puppet Technique. I don't have to move to make you move, just manipulate your shadow and you follow along to it.” He sat down where he'd been when she had first seen him, leaned back and put his hands behind his head to watch the clouds. The technique didn't release.

Her right hand spasmed open suddenly, dropping her fan. She took silent delight at her helplessness. That thrill was multiplied as her own hands began running roughly over her body. Her breathing quickened as panic seized her heart. Was he really…? Then a hand stopped, the fingers fiddling at the cloth of her top for a moment, then pulled.

“Ahh, a flexblade for the under wire of your bra there? Not bad I guess what else are you hiding?”

God damn him. He wasn't making her feel herself up, he was frisking her. Two minutes, 13 hidden weapons, one scroll of exploding notes, and three spools of wire later he was satisfied that she was unarmed. To a ninja, unarmed was worse than naked. Naked was no big deal, a body is a body right, who cares? Unarmed on the other hand… normally someone would say something like “I'd rather been caught dead than be caught unarmed” but for a ninja it was much simpler, it was just “if you're caught unarmed, you're dead” a hundred different kinds of panic washed up against Temari now, would he kill her? Cripple her? Her heart was hammering against her ribs now, and she was sweating in the humid heat of Konoha, and she was firmly caught in the shadow master's technique.

She'd never been so turned on in her life.

Her feet started shambling toward the reclining Ninja, and without her weapons it was actually almost completely safe for Shikamaru to bring her up to him like this. She was in arms reach now and standing above his head on the ground. He opened one eye and looked up at her with a small smile.

“Well, since you decided to interrupt my relaxation with your noise and you tore up my comfortable cloud gazing spot, I guess it's fair for you to have to spend the afternoon making me comfortable enough to make up for it. Right?” His one-sided smile curled up a bit more as her head nodded all on its own. “Hn, I thought so.”

Oh what the hell.
