Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ A Torn Heart Mended ❯ Reaccuring Dream ( Chapter 4 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto. I don't even own the manga; I borrowed them from a friend. That proves how cheap I am.

Author's Note: This took a long time for me to write…I had the worst case of writer's block ever. It probably shows. Anyways, I also started a GenmaxSakura fan fic. So that's also a reason for the delay. Heh…sorry. I really have no priorities but school now so I'm just out of it. -_-

That night they awoke in the meadow. The sun had set long before they fell asleep. Kurenai looked upwards towards the sky and saw the stars. `The stars are so beautiful…a wonderful way to end a magical moment. God, how cheesy do I sound?.'

She and Kakashi sat against the trunk of a tree. Soft breezes of wind blew past and she shivered. Strong arms automatically surrounded her while warmth flooded through.

“Are you cold?” Kakashi whispered.

“Not anymore.” Kurenai whispered back while snuggling in closer to his bare chest.

Together they sat naked watching the mass of dark blue overhead, small twinkles of white light peeking through. Last night was a special moment, a turning point. Being mere friends was no longer possible. The line was crossed, they couldn't go back. In one night they went from friends to lovers, how unthinkable.

His legs wrapped around her as she sat in front of him. The scene was so peaceful and serene.

“We should probably be heading back now…” He kissed her neck gently.

“Mmm…five more minutes.” She pleaded. It felt too perfect to leave.

“Ok. Five more minutes then.”

Sitting there for those five minutes was heaven on earth. Legs entangled, chests heaving with breath, pure bliss. When it was time to get up and change it was almost forced.

“Don't look at me while I change.” Kurenai said.

Chuckling slightly at this Kakashi replied, “Fine. Don't peek at me either!”

How cute. They made love in a private meadow, sat naked watching the stars and she was still embarrassed of letting him see her change.

“Are you ready?” He asked.

“Yes, are you?”

“All set. Let's head home.”

`Home…it's our home now isn't it?' Last time she lived with a man she had gotten hurt. Would this be any different?

They arrived at the doorstep. Kakashi slid the key into the doorknob and opened it, gesturing for Kurenai to go in. She did so and paused.
“It's getting rather late.” She said. “How…er…are we going to set up sleeping arrangements?”

“Well, we could do the original plan. I'll sleep on the couch; you can sleep in my bed.”

“Kakashi…you don't have to sleep on the couch.”

He stepped up to her slowly. As he wrapped a toned arm around her, he bent down and gently kissed her neck. “Are you sure?”

Her reply was a soft whisper of a single word. “Yes…”

She took his hand in hers and began to lead him towards the bedroom. He smiled at the initiative that was taken.

Going too slow for his taste, he picked her up. Walking slightly faster, he opened the door and placed her on the shuriken patterned comforter. Once again he ripped off his mask and placed a kiss on her lips. This time it wasn't gentle and coaxing but demanding and fiery. Automatically her hands reached up to remove the headband keeping his full view from hers. Mismatched eyes greeted her. He saw with both eyes the need and longing held in her gaze.

Despite the fact that he wanted to take it slow. No matter how much he tried to control himself. He also needed her, wanted her. This, now, would be as intimate and meaningful as the moment in the meadow. From his secret area, to his bed, it all took on a new meaning.

Being more than a physical touch, it had an intendment. There was warmth, fulfillment.

Gentle caresses turned into scratching and grabbing. Kisses were eager to reach every inch of flesh. Bodies melted against one another while limbs were entwined. Moans were piercing the air.
It was all so hungry, so passionate. Afterwards they lay in bed. His arm massaged her side, her hand fondling with his hair. There were no words of `I love you'. No words of everlasting love. Not yet, it was too soon. Love was something precious and powerful. Something as such shouldn't be taken lightly. Eyes closed and soon deep breathing was the only sound in the room.

*Walking towards the bedroom the sounds became louder. Distinct creaks of the bed, hushed moans. `No…he shouldn't be home yet. He's away on a mission…this isn't happening!'A masculine grunt reached her ears. It was him.

She suspected something like this. Why he was rapidly taking on more missions. Why he never held her close anymore. Ever since that day she confessed her love for him. Had he looked at her love as some curse?

Feet stepped upon carpet as she crept towards the bedroom door. When she opened it, something was different. Instead of jet black hair it was beautifulsilver. Instead of a rough beard it was a smooth face. Instead of Asuma, it was…

Kakashi.*

She sat up drenched in sweat clutching her chest. Her breathing matched someone that ran a 5 mile race. Why…why would she dream that? Those nightmares had occurred before but…it ended differently. It ended with her crying, screaming at Asuma. How it had really happened. Why would it end with Kakashi's face instead of Asuma's?

Kakashi woke up after hearing Kurenai sit up. Ragged breathing reached his ears. He could make out the sound of crying, the soft trickle of tears.

“What's wrong? Have a nightmare?” He asked.

“Y-yes…a nightmare.” Her voice hitched slightly.

“Care to talk about it?” Asking delicately.

“M-maybe later…I'm still…shaken up.” She answered. Did she want to tell at all? All she knew was that she couldn't handle it now. He didn't even know what happened… How could she tell him…tell him that she was terrified of history repeating itself?

“Ok. Try and get some sleep. Don't worry, I'm here.” He gave a reassuring smile and held her close. Sleep overcame them once again.

Could she ever tell him? He was what she was afraid of.

Author's Note: Um…sorry I'm not good at writing long chapters. This one was incredibly short >.> As you can tell, fast updates won't be happening. The humor left me -_- I'm sorry. This turned into a stupid, laughable fic to serious and erm…something.
