After The Four-Tails!: Chapter 1

The story for this fan fiction starts after Naruto looses to Sauske at the waterfall. It’s in the same storyline as my last fanfic “Man Training” He is in the hospital, it's late at night and he's still unconscious from his ordeal. Jiraya, Kakashi, Tsunade, and Anko are in the room. Tsunade is sitting by Naruto's bed, the rest are discussing what's happened, what's happening, and what will happen, regarding Naruto. The main pairing I want to happen becomes painfully obvious in the very first chapter, Naruto and Hinata. I may fit either Sakura, or Ino into that relationship, (Not both @_@) but only if I'm convinced by SOMEONE that it would make a better story. It won't be long, as I can't seem to stay on a writing project for very long. But I do intend to complete it, at least to the point where I can 'Wrap it up', or at the VERY least, to where I can fit some plot closure in. Reviews are welcome, but I want SUGGESTIONS, CONSTUCTIVE SUGGESTIONS, anybody telling me how horrible this is and not giving me a way to fix it, will be counted as a jerk-monkey and will be subsequently ignored. Also, I don't intend to make any homosexual hook-ups, I'm not a homophobe, but it just isn't my thing. (And I probably won't be talked into any lesbian action either)

Also, there's a dream sequence in the first chapter, but please don't think of me as a cheesy writer because of it.

Disclaimer: While I don’t know the names of the creators of Naruto, they’re the only ones who have rights to it, I’m just down here at the bottom of the food chain, basking in their glory and stealing a few characters for this story.

'Twelve o-clock' Thought Tsunade as she stroked Naruto's cheek. She was sitting in a chair next to his bed, leaning over and obsessing over things like keeping stray hairs out of his face, wiping off the occasional tear running down his cheek, and stroking his hair and cooing to him whenever he got restless in his sleep. She had been shaken up after learning the extent of what Sauske's Thousand Birds had done to Naruto, a punctured rib, a skull fracture, wide lacerations all over his body, a major case of negative chakura, and too many of his bones were broken to even consider counting, he didn't need casts (The Kyuubi took care of that.) but he had bandages over his abdomen, arms and forehead. She couldn't help but stare at his bandaged form, he was almost seventeen, had an ego that could fill a swimming pool, and skills to match Jiraya, but here he didn't take up more than half of his hospital bed. Even Tsunade herself had become exhausted while aiding the medical team working on Naruto. It was due only to her exhaustion that she was in the chair, rather than be in the middle of a heated (Albeit, whispered) debate going on in the other end of the room.

Anko was trying to argue Kakashi into releasing the information about Naruto and Sauske to the public. She wanted everyone to know just what a traitor Sauske was, how he fled to Orochimaru for power just as she did, how he hurt Naruto, how he spat on all Konoha had done for him, she wanted to shame him. But she also wanted the truth out about Naruto to be known, how he fought Sauske to his limit, and how he tried to do right by his former friend even after the traitor had defected.

"That's not going to happen Anko." Whispered Kakashi in monotone, he knew what Anko was trying to do, what she wanted deep down was closure of the fact that Orochimaru didn't have a hold on her, she was trying to attach her feelings to the situation regarding Naruto. "Just take a deep breath, remember, everyone in the village still sees Sauske as the boy prodigy as he once was. If we tell them that Naruto was just brought back from a to-the-death fight with him, they'd probably take it the wrong way and assume that Naruto made him leave. As much as I'd hate to say it, we can't now suffer the bad PR in our village that one of our most promising ninjas has defected."

"Then we tell them why, we tell them about the curse seal, how this has been in the writing since the last chuunin exam."

Jiraya, who had been repeatedly flipping through a small report of what the medi-nins and Kakashi heard Naruto say about his fight as they brought him into the hospital, put up a hand to interrupt. "If we tell people about Orochimaru's involvement in the Chuunin exam, there'll be a bad reaction. Let's face it, we're in the business of stealth and secrets, but nobody likes to be kept in the dark about an S-class missing Nin under our own noses." He heaved a deep sigh, he felt as though he'd never been more somber in his life. The usual smile brought on by constantly peeping and thinking perverted thoughts was gone from his features, replaced by a blank poker face, and a deep wrinkle on his brow, showing his true age.

This argument kept on, Anko refusing to back down, and even going so far as to suggest to send a team of ANBU to take down Sauske. All three were slightly raising their voices until Tsunade cleared her throat and gave them a look that could have curdled milk. The voices went down again, and the argument continued.

About an hour later, Tsunade peered at her watch 'One o-clock.' She thought, she was tired and wanted to go to sleep, but couldn't will herself to move out of the chair. She also couldn't let herself slip away from Naruto. She knew he needed her, she had know way of knowing for certain, but she couldn't convince herself otherwise, so she stayed glued. A stray hair here, a tear there. She kept his face pristine.

Jiraya took another glance at the report he was holding before he spoke up again. "I'm not sure about what Naruto's said so far..." He scanned the pages again. "It says here that he remembers being under a genjitsu that caused real physical pain. Also says that it lasted for hours on end, but when it was gone, he was still flying through the air from when Sauske had hit him last." He gave up the document when Kakashi reached for it and continued. "If that's true, then he must have mastered the Kaleidoscope Sharingan. And we all know what that means."

Anko was staring at Jiraya wide-eyed. "The bastard killed his closest friend." She hissed.

Jiraya was confused, "You know, I always considered Naruto and Sauske to be each other's closest friends, they may have been rivals, but they were always close. Could he have thought he killed Naruto earlier in the fight and discovered the technique then?"

"No." Kakashi retorted, his voice still refusing to break its one set tone. "If he had the Kaleidoscope Sharingan, he would have had to kill someone he considered to be close to him, then constantly deal with the guilt following, it's the constant reliving of anguish that unlocks that unholy ability. Because to use it, is to make the victim feel unrelenting, repetitive physical and psychological pain." He said with a visible shudder, remembering what Itachi did to him during his excursion into the village before Naruto and Jiraya left to find Tsunade.

Anko put a hand on Kakashi's shoulder out of sympathy, "I think we've discussed this enough for one night," She said. "Why don't we-"

She was interrupted by a muffled shout from outside the door to the room. It was one of Tsunade's assistants, talking with someone outside in the hallway. He poked his head in the room and said. "There's a girl out here who wants to see Naruto."

"Send Sakura away." Said Tsunade, not even looking away from Naruto. "She can see him tomorrow, he needs rest now."

The assistant started closing the door behind him and said. "I'm sorry miss, he needs to sleep now."

Again there was a shout, but this time, they could hear the voice clearly. It wasn't Sakura, it was Hinata. "I need to see him! I can't wait! I need to see him!" She tried to get past the man into the room, but he blocked her way.

"No miss, Hokage's orders, you CAN'T see him." He said as he moved in front of the door. She looked up at him with tears in her grey eyes, then she delivered a swift punch to the assistant's family jewels and rushed into the room as he doubled over with pain.

In a flash Tsunade was out of her seat and restraining the girl as she tried to throw herself onto Naruto, crying. "Why did you go, Naruto?" She was in hysterics. Tears fell from her eyes, and in turn they sparked Tsunade's eyes to begin watering again. The others in the room had been watching this and decided it would be a good idea to leave, they took the assistant with them, but before Jiraya left, he leaned over to Tsunade.

"Try to get some rest." He whispered, then he paused before he gave her a light kiss on the forehead. Tsunade either didn't notice, or didn't mind as she started explaining Naruto's condition to Hinata. She pulled the girl into her lap as she sat back down in the chair. Hinata sat there, clutching her heart and sobbing her eyes out, while Tsunade held her close and resumed her stewardship of Naruto. They both sat there, crying, stopping, and crying again until they both drifted off into an exhausted, dreamless sleep.

----------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------

A few hours later, Jiraya came back to the hospital. He tried to go fulfill a bit of his own pleasure at one of Konoha's bathhouses, unfortunately, no one seemed to want to bathe in the wee-small hours of the morning, so he went instead to a ramen stand and drank. 'One o-clock' He though as he ambled up the stairs in a state of quasi-inebriation and walked into Naruto's room. He saw Tsunade, asleep, and holding Hinata in her lap with one hand in Naruto's hair.

"Tsuuu-naaa-de-chan." He whispered, gently prodding her shoulder until she roused. "It's late, or early. Let's get you to bed."

Tsunade stirred, "Don't call me Tsunade-CHAN." She said as she got up, still holding Hinata. "What do I do with her?" She said, gesturing to the emotional bundle in her arms.

"Just leave her here with Naruto." He said simply as he walked out the door. "It's where she wants to be, asleep or not, besides, I don't even know where she lives..." Tsunade nodded, and started to put her back in the chair, but thought twice, and laid her on the bed next to Naruto. Then she put her under the sheets and removed her coat, pants and shirt, folding them up and setting them on the nightstand next to the bed.

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Asked Jiraya as she joined him in the hallway.

Tsunade huffed, "Yes I'm sure, she needs a comfortable sleep, and Naruto won't wake up for a few days." She glared at him. "Besides, you didn't rub off on him enough to take advantage of her just because she's semi-disrobed."

Jiraya gagged. "I was talking about putting her in the bed with him in his state, he could get hurt!" He thought for a moment. "Wait, you took her clothes off?"

At first, all he got was an elbow in the ribs for a reply before Tsunade added "Yes, but if you so much as THINK about going back to peep at her, I'm going to shoe you a new meaning of pain."

The two Sanin stumbled out of the hospital leaning on each other for support and went home.

------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------

"Naruto-ku n."

"Naruto-kun."

"Naruto-kun." The name resounded in Hinata's mind, she found herself in bed with the blond Nin. She reached up to touch his face, and he stirred. He looked over at her and gasped.

"Hinata-chan?" He said in a panicked tone. Hinata blushed furiously, he had never used such a familiar suffix with her name before. "Why are you here?"

Hinata blinked, she thought that she realized what he meant though, why was she in his bed, what she hoped she meant was why she was at the hospital, "I had to come." She said with fervor. "I talked to Neji when he got back, he hadn't seen you, then I went to see Kiba and he said he heard you were in the hospital." She looked away, turning a deeper shade of red. "I was so worried about you, I heard you fought Sauske, I thought I might loose y-"

She covered her face in her hands, why was she talking like that? He was sure to dislike her now. He only liked Sakura. He-

"Hinata-chan?" Naruto's voice interrupted her thoughts.

"Y-yes?" She stammered, his voice sounded so warm.

"I-I never knew you cared so much." He mumbled.

Hinata blushed even more. She chummed up her nerve, she needed it now, and there was no going back. "I've always thought about you like that Naruto. Always." He was blushing now too.

"Hinata-chan." He leaned his head towards her, he closed his eyes, and he pursed his lips. She knew what was coming, she did the same, then, just as their lips touched. She felt it...

She was waking up...

------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------

She woke up in bed, the last memory of her dream still vivid in her mind, Naruto. She was bringing her hands up to rub her eyes when they brushed across bandages. She probed the bandages, they were wrapped around an arm, the arm was connected to a shoulder, and the shoulder was connected to a chest, again wrapped in bandages. Without opening her eyes, she felt around the bandages, all across a torso they stretched, she explored them with her hands, still half asleep. Then the bandaged mass squirmed. "Tickles..." It moaned as it rolled over to face her. Her eyes snapped open as the voice registered in her head.

"Naruto-kun!" She whispered, expecting another dream. But this time he was really there, he was tangible, and he was still asleep. So much blood ran to her face, she feared her head would spring a leak. She looked down, she was only clothed in a bra, tee shirt, socks and a small pink pair of panties that she had barely talked her father into letting her purchase, claiming they allowed her greater 'Mobility'.

But Naruto.

He was only covered in a pair of boxers with chibi frog print all over them. The bandages spanned a lot of his torso and arms, but other than that, nothing. Thoughts started racing through her head (The least of which were hardly 'G-rated' ones) she pushed many of them aside, and thought. 'Where are the rest of my clothes?' She looked around, the room was empty, a ray of sunlight reached through the blinds on one end of the room, and the cleaning staff was apparently at work just outside the door. There was a chair next to the bed, and next to it was a nightstand. And on the nightstand, 'My clothes!'

Apparently someone had folded them, all she remembered was the Hokage cradling her and explaining what happened to Naruto and that he would be fine. She never remembered folding her clothes, let alone getting in bed with Naruto. She made a mental note to thank the Hokage later. But for now, she simply settled in, cuddling up to Naruto and entwining her legs with his. 'This works for now.' She thought to herself before falling asleep again.

----------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------

In the bedroom of the Hokage, there was a similar scene. Tsunade had awoken to find herself cuddled up against Jiraya, The white haired Sanin was out cold, there was a hint of Sake on his breath and he was quietly snoring. She sat up and looked about the room. The lights were still on, and it was in it's usual state. The Hokage seldom had time to clean her room, there were dirty clothes, a few dishes, and many scrolls strewn around on the floor. She rubbed her eyes which were still red from the night before, something about Hinata's desperation managed to eradicate the little bit of restraint she had over her tears. She cried with the girl until they could cry no more before they fell asleep.

She looked again at the Frog Pervert laying next to her. He was aging well, his constant smiling wasn't doing anything to improve his wrinkles, but those were expected for a man reaching his mid fifties. He had been a pervert all his life, but Tsunade always found him adorable when he was sleeping or goofing off. His white hair had come out of the large pony tail and was very unkempt (Not unwashed, just bed-head.) As she sat there, she saw in him the last vestiges of innocence that his lecher tendencies had yet to rob him of. She smiled, at least there was that one bit of him that would remain pure.

But she still wanted to mess with him.

She was quick to move, she freed him of his clothes, put him under the sheets on her bed, then took off her own clothes and put on a morning gown. After she'd done that, she went into the kitchen to make breakfast, making a terrible racket so as to wake him. After a few minutes, she heard a loud, sloppy yawn. 'Trap set' She thought to herself as Jiraya came stumbling into the kitchen in his boxers.

For the first minute or two, he ignored her completely. He just went to the refrigerator and made himself cereal. She walked up to him and cleared her throat.

Nothing.

"Oohh, Ji-ra-ya-kun." She cooed.

He simply grunted in reply, took a bite of cereal and chewed as he sleepily stared into his bowl.

Getting angry now, Tsunade decided to bring out the big guns. She moved her chest towards his face and spoke in a sexy tone; "I had a lot of fun last night."

The Frog Hermit's eyes shot open like lightning. 'Trap sprung...' Thought Tsunade. 'VERY sprung.' She added.

A look of confusion spread across Jiraya's face like wildfire. His mouth opened and closed a few times looking for words. "A-are you?" Was all he managed to say.

"I sure am."

"Then I..."

"You did."

"Then we..."

"We did."

------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------

Naruto woke up in his bed when he heard someone screaming "I DID IT!!!" Through the window in the room. He tried to get up, but something was clinging to his legs and chest. He looked down to find Hinata, blushing and muttering in her sleep. He thought for a moment, if he was here, and Hinata was here with him. He was either dreaming, dead, or he made it back to the village after...

"SAUSKE!" He yelled in a rage, but he recoiled in pain when a sleeping Hinata tightened her grip on his torso and legs, it was crushing him. Pain, that meant he wasn't dead or dreaming. But why was Hinata in the bed with him. 'Might as well ask.' He thought, so he leaned down and whispered.

"Hey, Hinata. Wake up."

She stirred, but kept her eyes closed.

"Why are you in my bed?"

Again she didn't wake up. Naruto tapped her on the shoulder and talked in a normal voice. "Why are you in your panties?"

That got her up, and up like a flash. "AHHH! PERVERT!" Her hand moved at Mach 1 as she brained Naruto, knocking him out of the bed. She was out of the bed as well, assuming a Jyuuken stance and activating her Byagugan. "Get out of my room!" She was about to go on the attack when she realized who she had just clobbered. "N-N-Naruto-kun! Oh my lord, I'm so sorry!" She rushed over to help him. He was in a heap on the floor at the other end of the room. She picked him up and put him back in the bed. "Naruto-kun! Wake up!" She was so afraid she had hurt him, she hugged him desperately and started crying.

Naruto was in a daze, lights and stars danced around in his eyes, he felt a hand-shaped burning sensation on his cheek. He blinked a few times and saw a head covered in dark hair buried in his chest, crying. "You know, you're pretty strong, Hinata-chan."

His words brought her a bit out of desperation, she stopped sobbing and looked up at him. She blinked once, then hugged him tighter and started wailing. "I'm sorry! I didn't know who you were! I hurt you!" She squeezed him tighter and tighter until he felt he couldn't feel his chest.

"H-Hinata-chan, I can't breath." He managed to gasp out. She started blushing and relinquished her grip on him. "That's better, now, where am I?"

"I-In the Hospital, you were brought here yesterday. I-I think." Said Hinata, resuming her normal stutter.

Naruto thought on her statement, "Who brought me back?"

"Kakashi."

Naruto chuckled, 'Figures, I knew he would follow me to all the way to Sauske...' His thoughts were interrupted by Hinata's heavy, labored breathing. "Are you alright?" He asked. She nodded quickly and looked away, blushing an even deeper red.

He sat up a bit and looked around. He saw it was morning, sunlight was streaming in through the window. He looked down at himself, he was largely covered in bandages. Then he looked at Hinata, she was still blushing like mad and now she had busied herself with twiddling her fingers. All she had on was a bra and panties, and as he could see, she was VERY well endowed, her bust was incredible. 'She's goanna look like Tsunade-baa-chan when she's older.' He thought. She looked up at him, and was about to glance away before she caught sight of his lap, it was growing.

"N-Naruto-kun. What are you doing?" She said, wearily pointing at the tent he was pitching, but Naruto didn't notice, all he could do was stare at Hinata's figure as blood rushed to his face and groin.

Hinata tore her gaze away from Naruto's lap and looked at his face. "Naruto-kun?" She was shocked to see him gazing at her features as well. As he stared, she moved her head so she could lock eyes with him, which seemed to bring him out of his trance. He shook his head and sat up a bit straighter to hide his arousal.

"Sorry." He mumbled, "I was day-dreaming, I wanted to ask you why you were here, and why you were in my bed."

At that, Hinata's blushing stopped, replaced by more choked-back tears, she locked her eyes on her feet and spoke in a broken, sobbing tone, "I was worried about you when Neji told me that you had been fighting Sauske, I thought you might have got really hurt." She stopped for a moment to regain her breath and hold back some more tears before looking up at him again, this time with a look in her eyes that Naruto could have sworn was anger. "Why did you have to go?" She demanded, "Neji told me all about it, why did you have to go after that traitor?" She pounded a fist on the bed, her resolve was iron clad this time. She wouldn't let her fear get the better of her this time. This time. "Can't you see that he doesn't want to come back?"

"He doesn't want to come back because of Orochimaru!" Naruto interrupted. "He put a curse seal on him and made him crazy and-"

This time it was Hinata who interrupted, "I don't CARE about Orochimaru, I care about YOU, Naruto!"

"But Orochimaru is-" Naruto hadn't noticed her last words until mid-sentence. "You what?"

Realizing it was too late to turn back, Hinata poured her heart out. "I've cared about you for the longest time, Naruto! Since the Academy, I've watched you, you never give up, never back down. I watched you be everything that I couldn't be, you stood up to everyone, when I couldn't speak my mind once!" She grasped his hand to keep from trembling, tears creeping into her eyes. "You got stronger to fulfill your dream to become the Hokage, and all I could do was tag behind and watch you!" The tears came, she couldn't stand for him to see her weakness, so she thrust herself at him, burying her face in his chest and clutching him so tightly she feared she would break his back. "During the Chuunin exam, when I fought Neji, it was the first time I could take a stand for myself, all because you cheered me on... I became a ninja just because I was inspired by what you said and did!"

Her speech ended with her crumpling on top of Naruto on the bed, he pulled her up so he could see her face. She wasn't blushing anymore, but gazed at him with wonder and anticipation of what he would say.

"Hinata-chan, I never knew you felt that way." He scratched the back of his head, "I never knew anyone would be inspired by the stuff I did!"

The blush came back to Hinata's face, but not as badly as before. "Always, I've always admired you Naruto, I've always rooted for you."

Naruto’s face grew into a warm smile, he bent down and planted a dry peck on Hinata’s forehead, it was small, almost intangible in it’s effort. But it lulled her into a trance like state, bordering unconsciousness.

“Thank you god.” She thought quietly to herself. But as she drifted into a blood-in-the-head-induced sleep, she could make out a faint sentence coming from Naruto’s mouth that snapped her out of it.

“You’re kind of like a sister to me now.”

‘SHIT!!!’

--------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------

A/N: Okay, you see the way I used the dream sequence, it may be cheesy, but it works. I will be using as much of the fragmented knowledge I have of the Japanese language to make the story easier to read. And for anyone who's anal about spelling, when I misspelled the word 'show' when Tsunade and Jiraya were leaving the hospital, I was making a half assed reference to the subbed anime I watched, the typists they got working for them can never seem to spell the word 'show' right.

Let's see here, what else is there to say? Oh yeah, for anyone nice enough to leave even a quasi-constructive review, thanks. Anyone who just gives me crap about deviations from the storyline of the real thing, know this: I have only MEMORIZED seasons 1-4 of the anime, the DVDs I have for chapter 5 and up are being jerk-monkeys and they refuse to play, and I've never read the manga, so consider any MAJOR plot violations to be hints of an alternate universe, after all, if there were no deviations from the anime there it wouldn't be a fan-FICTION.

Thanks for reading, chapter two will be up in a flash.
