Chapter 3: Forbidden

Akiko's POV

-Flash-
Blood spilled.

Shrilling screams.

-Flash-
Blood.

Dead bodies.

Everywhere.

-Flash-
Young and confused.

Alone.

-Flash-
“Please don't kill us!”

Slash and stab.

-Flash-
Unmoving.

Not breathing.

Silent.

Cold.

Pale.

Bloody…

-Flash-
“Okaa-san! Otou-san!”

Mercilessly slaughtered.

-Flash-
“Nii-san! Okaa-san and Otou-san…they-!”

“Nii-san? No! Not you too!”

-Flash-
“You will seek me for power…the only way you can seek revenge…”

All I heard were screams of my parents and brother being killed. Then came the criticisms, humiliation, discriminations and accusing voices. I don't know which one to hear out, my head felt like it was going to explode. I tried to scream but nothing came out, tears started flowing out of my eyes.

Then it started to rain, looking up into the night sky, I was horrified to see the crimson moon and the rain of blood.

`Aka…tsuki…!'

I felt a force choking me, and the need for oxygen increase. My lungs started burning, my eyes started watering. I did everything I could, anything to release me from the tight grip.

“Wake up! Akiko! Wake up!”

The grip on me loosened. Immediately, I struggled free and took off running towards the nearest exit.

I suddenly rose from my bed, bumping right into Eriale.

“Ouch! What was that for?” Eriale said while rubbing her forehead furiously.

It was just a dream, but the feeling of fear and horror was quite real. Even now, I still find myself having difficulty to breathe.

“You were screaming. What's wrong? I want the truth this time…”

“…Nightmare…” I said while trying to catch my breath.

“Tell me about it.”

“… …” I pretended to busy myself with my bandages.

“Is it that you don't trust me?” Eriale asked with a bitter yet concerned tone.

“It's not that Eriale… I trust you…”

“What is it then? You know we keep no secrets from each other…” Eriale was looking at me very keenly, I can feel her gaze pierce through my soul. She's right; I shouldn't keep secrets from them…they deserve to know.
“Look…can I tell you when Ghorus gets back or something? This is something…I don't want to repeat…” I was staring into the mirror, trying to keep my mind off the dream. I did not want to cry for the dream again. But it has always been this way, and I'm sick and tired of it.

“Promise?” Before I got to reply, the door slammed open.

“Good timing, Ghorus!” Eriale flashed a grin at the tall man.

`Speak of the devil…'

“Pack your bags” he paused for a few seconds to catch his breath.

“Forbidden and his men are on their way.”
