“The Confession”
Kakashi put the final slice of bread on the second sandwich and carefully put them on a plate. It surprised him Naruto had other things on his fridge other than ramen and the jounin was sure that it would be healthier to eat some meat, lettuce and cheese.
“You really don't have to do this sensei,” Naruto said as he laid on his couch with a pinkish sheet over him and half of his body bruised and bandaged.
Kakashi put the plate on the coffee table in front of the blond. “You shouldn't train so much, at least rest at night and eat your meals,” he spoke, ignoring Naruto's words.
Naruto grabbed on of the sandwiches and took a small bite. “If I want to bring Sasuke back, I need to train and become stronger.”
“Yes, I know that but if you die then there's no way you are going to bring him back right?”
The blond took another bite. “Why do you even care so much?”
“I…” Kakashi looked into his blue eyes. “Never mind.”
His blue eyes were set on his visible brown eye as Naruto tried to figure why his sensei was acting in this way. He took a bigger bite from his snack. “Well anyways, thanks for everything.”
The smile Naruto just gave him made his insides melt. It was too sweet; Kakashi couldn't bare it so easily. “Yes, well, I better get going now.”
“Oh,” Naruto slurred. “Can't you stay for like another hour?”
“Yeah, sure,” Kakashi answered, instantly consumed in Naruto's face. “I'll stay as long as you need me.”
Once again a smile adorned his face. “Great!” he shrieked and finished his first sandwich.
Kakashi watched him intrigued. Naruto was a beauty in the jounin's eyes. He found him self marveling over his perfect blond hair and his beautiful blue eyes and the rare contrast they made with his tan skin. It amused him actually, how much he had grown to love his own student.
“Sensei,” Naruto called, finishing his second snack. Kakashi instantly looked at the boy. “Has the old lady said anything to you about, you know, Sasuke?”
“Do you mind if I ask you a question about that?” Kakashi asked. “Depending on what you tell me, I'll let you know anything you want.”
“Go ahead,” Naruto said skeptic.
“Why do you really want Sasuke back?”
“Huh? What do you mean by `why'?” Naruto asked scratching his head. “Sasuke is my best friend; of course I want to help him. I would do anything for him.”
Kakashi's visible eye looked attentively at Naruto's blue. “Best friends? Are you sure that's all?”
“Umm… Well,” Naruto's cheek turned red. “I…”
“You loved him!” Kakashi blurted.
Naruto blushed even more. “How did you know?!”
Kakashi cursed himself for blurting it. He was such a fool. “I saw you two one day,” Kakashi answered. He couldn't lie.
It was an extremely sunny day. Naruto and Sasuke stood side by side in the bridge looking at the beautiful view. Their hands were tangled together, but it was almost invisible since their bodies were covering them. Naruto had a small smile on his face while Sasuke was serious, except for the blush in his cheeks.
“I have an idea,” Naruto suddenly said with a smile. “Follow me!”
“Wait, Naruto!” Sasuke protested but he was already been dragged by Naruto to the deepness of the forest. He followed his lover all the way to a high branch of one of the leafiest tree around Konoha.
“Let's call this one our tree,” Naruto said, still holding Sasuke's hand. “Nobody will know we're here.”
Sasuke smiled and pressed his lips against Naruto's. “That sounds perfect.”
“Can you kiss me again?” Naruto asked.
“As many times as you want me to,” he slurred and kissed him again. “I love you, Naruto.”
“I love you too.”
Unknown to them, Kakashi was watching them, heartbroken and jealous that Sasuke Uchiha had taken him away.
“So you knew…” Naruto slurred his face a bit pink.
“Yes, after that day I started watching you to more carefully in our missions and things suddenly became clear,” he told Naruto.
“We snuck out a lot on missions,” he said smiling weakly. “You and Sakura-chan would think we were training.”
“What happened?” Kakashi asked.
“I don't know,” Naruto said. “He didn't even say anything to me before leaving. I thought things were just fine and then I heard about it, that he had left to find Orochimaru.”
“What about the battle in…”
“He said he hated me,” Naruto whispered, tears flowing freely from his eyes. “He said that it had never meant anything to him, that he had been confused. That he had never loved me. But I know he loves me, I know it! I could feel it!”
Kakashi wrapped his arms around him. “Naruto,” he whispered. “Don't cry, he doesn't deserve those tears.”
“Sensei,” he choked. “I love Sasuke.”
“Naruto,” Kakashi whispered.
“I told him I would help him kill Itachi, why did he go seeking for that bastard of Orochimaru,” he cried. “I don't understand.
“Naruto,” Kakashi called, making the blond look at him with his teary blue eyes. He stared at them carefully. This seemed to sooth Naruto in a way, since he stopped sobbing completely and followed Kakashi's eyes with his own. “Sasuke doesn't deserve someone like you.”
“Kakashi-sensei,” Naruto said and hugged him. “Thank you.”
“Don't thank me,” he said. “I love you Naruto.”
Naruto looked at his visible eye as he slowly moved his hands towards Kakashi's mask and softly pulled it down. To his surprise Kakashi didn't stop him or even flinch, so for the first time he saw what his face looked like. “Sensei, you love me?”
“Always,” Kakashi answered. “I've always been looking after you, ever since you were a baby.”
Seeing his lips move for the first time made Naruto feel weird. He had dreamt to see his real face for so long now it seemed unreal. “Always?”
“Yes,” Kakashi replied. “Always.”
Naruto wrapped his arms around him again. “Thank you for being the only one to love me,” he spoke.
“Don't say that, many people love you,” Kakashi said with a smile. “You are too lovable,” he then teased.
Naruto blushed. “Don't say those things, its embarrassing.”
“But its true,” Kakashi laughed.
“Even if it is, it's still embarrassing.”
“Fine,” Kakashi muttered, placing his mask back on.
“No, don't!” Naruto shrieked stopping his hand.
“Why not?”
“If you do that, then I won't be able to do this,” he answered and pressed his lips against Kakashi's.
“What are you doing?” Kakashi asked shocked.
“Kissing you, duh,” Naruto replied. “Don't tell me the pervy Kakashi-sensei has never been kissed.”
“Of course I have,” Kakashi said. “It's just that, you…”
“Didn't you like it?” Naruto questions with a pout in his lips.
“No I did!” Kakashi exclaimed and kissed him. “I just don't understand why…”
“Does that really matter?” Naruto asked, kissing him again.
“It does,” Kakashi said breaking the kiss. “You don't love me.”
Naruto looked away. “It doesn't matter, you love me!”
“Yes I do but that doesn't mean anything!”
“Yes it does!” Naruto screamed. “Love is something!”
“Naruto…”
“If you really love me then you would do anything for me!”
“Naruto,” Kakashi slurred putting his hand on the top of his head. “I would surely do anything for you, anything you want that I and I no you don't really want me, you want Sasuke.”
“No! I want you sensei!”
“Listen,” Kakashi interrupted. “Don't be so childish, you know you don't love me so everything ends here.”
Naruto watched as Kakashi stood up and walked towards the door as he pulled his mask up. “Wait!” Naruto managed to scream. Kakashi turned around and looked at him. “Make me fall in love with you!”
Kakashi was shocked for a moment but it was quickly wiped by a small smile behind his mask.
