Chapter Two: Onward!

The little girl sat helplessly in the corner, tears streamed down her face. The man stepped over two dead bodies, her mother and father’s. Blood puddles were everywhere, red splotches were on the white walls as well.

The man took a step closer towards her, he smirked. “You couldn’t help them, don’t you feel helpless and weak?” He taunted, swinging a kunai around this finger. “They were weak, but you can become stronger, you can be better.”

The little girl’s eyes widened with fear. “Why? Why did you kill them?” She asked, cowering into the corner furthermore. “You killed my parents! You…killed…them…” She choked out through her crying.

“I killed them because they will stand in the way of the plan. I will come back for you and you will be the key to getting rid of this pathetic village, whether you like it or not.” He bent down so that he was not just looking down on her but more like eye-to-eye. “You will betray your own village and there’s nothing you can do about it.”

He gave a sickening grin, standing back up after seeing fear run though her eyes. “Be good now.” Without warning he threw the kunai straight at her, another wicked smile was plastered on his face…

Sakura shot up from her bed, panting slightly, she brushed away strands of her pink hair that was mixed with sweat from her forehead.

It was that dream again. She often have this particular nightmare. The man looked so familiar, but she just couldn’t put her finger on who it might be. The faces couldn’t be seen in her dream, the little girl, the man. They had no face, the only visible thing was the man’s smiles. The faces was always shadowed.

What is wrong with me? This is the sixth time so far in these past two weeks. Sakura looked out the window, it was close to sunrise. She decided to start getting ready for the day ahead, she got dressed in another black body suit with her white sash and holster ready to go.

A few minutes she emerged out of the bathroom, noticing that a black and white scroll had been left on her desk. She went over and picked it up, unravelling the. Itachi-Sama probably left it for me.

The scroll listed some information for the mission- things like how far she will be traveling, the list of tasks she has to accomplish before she returns. A knock on the door brought her attention back to what she needs to do instead of looking at her tasks. “Who is it?”

The door opened and a blue head poked in. “Just checking to make sure your awake.” Kisame stepped into her room and looked around, his nose lightly scrunched together. “You’re a messy girl.”

Sakura pulled a backpack out and started putting enough clothes in for a few days, some extra weapons- ones that she doesn’t really need but likes to bring them anyways. Need to remember to get some food later too.

“Yeah, well, I don’t really have time to clean and such.” She spoke quickly, putting on the black with red clouds cloak. “If you don’t mind I’ve got to go.” She swung the backpack over one of her shoulders than grabbed her two katanas and brushed past Kisame on her way out. “Have fun being useless, Shark BOY!” She called over her shoulder as she ran down the hall giggling lightly.

Kisame just glared at her back as she started to run down the hall. Than finally her words sunk in after a few seconds. “Shark ‘Boy’?!” He shouted, eyes threw thousands of death glares after her, but she was already gone.

~*~*~*~*~

Sakura walked down the dirt road, feeling rather annoyed. She had wore a yukata over her body suit and her katanas were kept in a special compartment inside of her yukata and she had also used a jutsu to change her entire appearance, as well as concealing her Chakra so that no one would see her than a mere villager.

She had been walking for at least an hour, why didn’t she just jump from tree to tree you ask? Simply because this was one the many sacrifices she has to make in order to ‘Complete the mission properly’ in Orochimaru’s words, ‘You must not draw attention to yourself.’ She grew slightly more annoyed as the memories flooded back to her, just before she had left for her mission.

“But I’m perfectly capable of avoiding people, sneaking around the ANBUs, making clean kills, making sure to keep the bodie-”

“We can not risk anything, neither can you. You’re the one doing this mission, don’t be so careless like how you always are.” Kabuto interrupted her, she fumed, her blood boiled.

“Sakura.” Itachi spoke before she could continue to argue. His voice laced with no emotion what so ever, not even a hint of annoyance from her complaining. “Your objective should be to finish the mission as soon as you can. That should be your first priority.” Sakura immediately dropped her childishness.

She looked at Itachi, she never argues with him, simply because he was her sensei and because she knew he wouldn’t tolerate her silliness, so she didn’t say another word.

“Hai, Itachi-Sama.” She mumbled.

Kabuto signed lightly. He had been to a certain extent afraid that she might lash out at him because of what he had said. He knew he shouldn’t have done that but the arguing back and forth with her just settled him to the limit of what he can take.

“Come, I have things to discuss with you.” Itachi said, leading her out of the room. He walked in front of her until they came to the front gate. Itachi stopped, turning around to face her, he bent low so that he was at her ear. “You appear in your normal form, only after you’ve encountered a sound nin.” He’s breath tickled her, sending a strange feeling through her body. It wasn’t a bad feeling, she liked it.

“What do you mean?” She managed to ask without a stutter or shiver from this strange effect he had upon her.

“Sound nins have been sent to watch over you for this mission, either kill them or tell them to leave, is up to you.” Itachi stood back up straight and looked down at her small form. “You may leave.”

She had wanted to hit Kabuto across the head, not because of what he said, no she could careless, but it had been his idea to make her look like a little weak and pathetic village girl. Damn it Kabuto, when I get back I’m gonna give you a piece of my mind. Sakura also remembered the feeling she got from Itachi, strangely enough she felt she wanted him at the moment, when he whispered into her ear, his hot breath brushed her ear, making the hair on her neck stand up.

But this feeling felt sort of wrong, he was her sensei, no doubt about that, but it wasn’t like she could control how her body reacted to things like that….right?

She stopped when she felt figures following her in the woods. Oh, right. I’m supposed to play ‘house’ and look weak. She reminded herself.

Sakura pretended that she found something interesting to look at in a bed of flowers.

A deep voice chuckled. “Look what we have here boys. Let’s see if she wants to play with us.” They came out of the woods and onto the dirt road.

Sakura slowly turned around, they were met with a very bored expression. “Oh my! What do we have here? I know! The top five losers who just signed their death wish crossing my path!” She said sarcastically, clapping her hands on her cheeks.

They just laughed. “Little girl, you don’t know who your dealing with here.” A skinny, little man said, assuming she was nothing more than what meets the eye.

“Get her.” The leader, she supposed, commanded. He gave her a wicked smile.

Sakura just signed and looked at her hands, picking out dirt from under her nails. “I got her boss.” A big and round man grunted, running towards her.

Idiots! Such a waste of my time, just a bunch of pieces of little shitty bandits. She didn’t bothering to acknowledge that someone was coming at her.

The round man ran at her and just as he was about to wrap his chubby arms around her she disappeared. The other four looked around frantically. “Where did she go?!”

“You wanna play? Well I’ve got a game for you. It’s called ‘Don’t Get in My Way, or Else You Die.’” Her voice echoed through the woods. “Who’s first?”

One of the men chuckled. “Game are always fun.” A smirk placed on his lips.

“Oh a volunteer!” Sakura said, her voice filled with boredom. She jumped in front of the man who had spoke, he stumbled back in surprise. “I thought you wanted to play?” She mocked, she quickly drew out her wakizashi, and made a clean slice across his neck. No emotion flashed in her eyes, no hesitation, this was the way she had always learned to kill. His head rolled off of his body and down into a ditch, the body fell limp onto the ground before her. Blood pooled out, mixing with the dirt road.

The other four looked at her with big eyes and trembled like they were little kids that had just seen a dead body. She turned around to face them. “Run.” She whispered. They quickly bolted out of there as fast as their legs would carry them.

Geez…Such a waste of my time. Stupid old, perverted, geezers. Sakura wiped the blood from her wakizashi on the dead mans shirt, and sheathed it, placing it back into her yukata.

Sakura continued on her way, hoping that she would in counter some ANBUs, hoping for at least one, because she was getting bored just walking, and that little blood spill a little while back was nothing compared to what she’s used to killing at a time. With no one to talk to, nothing to do but walk…Well, who wouldn’t get bored?

~*~*~*~*~

Sakura sat in front of the fire she had built, rubbing her sore feet. If I had just jumped from tree to tree, my feet wouldn’t hurt as much. The whole day had been spent just walking and walking and more walking! Fun isn’t it?

She stopped rubbing her feet when her senses alerted her someone was near. It felt like there were two people, she could tell they were shinobis. It was either they were trying to hide their Chakra and wasn’t ever good at it or they never had a lot to begin with. “I know you’re there, show yourself.”

A kunai was thrown out from the trees and landed just at her feet. She didn’t flinch but watched and waited. A figure jumped out and appeared across from her. He had blue black hair that was sort of spiked up in the back, onyx eyes that looked oh-so familiar, and he appeared about her age. Actually he‘s entire figure, attitude, the way he holds himself standing in front of her, resembled a lot like her sensei, Itachi. “What are you doing here.” It was a statement not question.

She raised an eye-brow at him. “My business is but my own, I am just a mere girl traveling around.” She gave him a sweet smile, but it was fake. He didn’t buy it.

“It takes a lot to detect me, so you can’t just be an ordinary girl. What are you?” He asked boldly. Sakura laughed silently in her mind. Should I just tell him what I am and with? He’s just going to die either way…maybe I should.

“You should always watch what you say.” She smiled a devilish smile.

I wouldn’t be surprised if she turns out to be a kunoichi, just being able to detect me is already enough to say she’s not normal. The boy thought, he stared at the girl with brown hair and hazel eyes, she flash him a smile. He shuddered on the inside, but on the outside he stayed emotionless and calm, that smiled had creeped him out.

“So where’s the other one? I know there was two of you.” Just as Sakura said that another walked into the clearing. A blonde headed girl, with a long pony tail and blue eyes stood there with her hands on her hips. Sakura laughed. “Cute, a loving couple. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to let you hold each other for one last moment before I finish you off.”

The blonde girl glared at Sakura and shook her fist. “You shouldn’t talk so big if you can’t back it up!”

“You have no idea who I am do you?” Sakura asked, in a mocking tone. “Well I’m not that surprised, seeing how everyone I encounter is dead after I ‘m finished, obviously there is no one alive to ever tell the tale.”

Sakura slowly realised her Chakra, so that the two can feel it expand bigger and bigger. Wind picked up around her. “Ready to play?” Sakura pulled off her yukata, not caring if she had ruined it. If that’s the price I have to pay for a good fight, than I’d gladly go it without hesitation.

The boy stood in fighting stance, he activated his Sharingan. Sakura stared at him, the wind had died slightly. “The Sharingan.”

“Yeah, what are you, scared now?” He smirked.

“That’s the Advanced Bloodline Limit, how did you get it!?” She demanded. The blonde haired girl gave the boy a questioning look. What’s the deal with her. First she wants to fight us, now she’s suddenly giving us this…?

“I was born with it.” Sakura looked at him in bewilderment. He…can’t! He must’ve stole it from someone else! No, this is a trick, it has to be. Sakura made a move to grab her katanas but found that her body wouldn’t respond.

“Shikamaru!” The blonde girl cried out, a big silly grin on her face. Sakura tried to turn around, but to no anvil (A/N: not sure if this is the right word for it…).

“Who is this girl?” A voice asked from behind Sakura.

Damn it…Sakura glared at no one in specific.
