Broken 25
Iruka

Birds chirped as they glided on the morning air currents, dipping and diving outside the hospital window that the Kyuubi sat next to. The black haired teen laid motionless on the bed next to him, hooked up to an assortment of machines that beeped and hummed, disturbing his peace as he sat basking in the warm light shining through the window.

Suddenly Sasuke groaned in his slumber and turned his head, so sedated that he could not even wake up to escape whatever nightmare he was having. Reaching out, the demon set his borrowed body’s hand on to the raven haired teens shoulder and watched as the lines that creased the pale brow lifted and the teen once again laid motionless.

The demon still had not figured out what the hell he was feeling. He still felt warm touching the sleeping teen, still felt like he had eaten something not quite bad, but not good either, tossing around the pit of his stomach whenever he looked at Sasuke.

He still did not know why he had saved this teen, or why it mattered so much to him.

Growling softly to himself, but stopping when he remembered that he was being watched. The large teeted woman was blind in her love for his host and had dismissed his few little slip ups of personality. The other humans where not as overjoyed at his return, but glad that their enemies no longer possessed him.

That was his first mistake. Naruto, it seems, would not be happy with that. While he thought that having the elders admit that he was a powerful and dangerous weapon, was a good thing.
He had smiled and cocked his head to the side when he heard, confusing Tsunade and having to quickly make up a reason why it did not bother him.

Lying came naturally to the feared and powerful demon, it pulled no ethical strings to say one thing knowing it was completely false. Coming up with a coherent, explanatory lie was much more difficult because of all the stupid little factors that had to be considered.

Like feelings.

The lie could not hurt the woman’s feelings and make her look deeper in to his assumed personality that he was still working the kinks out of. He might of fooled the blond woman with his quick false explanation, but the elders were rightfully suspicious of him.

His heightened senses heard the masked ANBU shift ever so slightly in his leaning on the wall just outside the doorway. There was another one outside the window, the two masked shinobi having been ordered to watch him at all times by the elders.

He grunted as he looked through his hosts memories to find the way Naruto would act in this situation, finding nothing but when the blond was followed by a little kid when he was 12. Forcing himself to not growl when he did not find what he wanted. This situation was starting to frustrate the irritable demon.

If it was up to him, he would just kill them and be done with it, but no, this was Naruto. Scared, frightened Naruto that simply acquiesced to the order that he was to be watched at all times. He could not kill the guards and enjoy it like he wanted and the mere fact they were there made it so that he could not have his way with the sedated teen if he ever woke up.

Making a fist and snorting, forcing his boiling demonic rage down to a simmer as Sasuke made a small noise and turned his head. On impulse his hand shot out and cupped the too pale cheek. Rubbing his thumb across the cheek bone and gently massaging the back of the Uchihas neck with the tips of his fingers.

Just watching the obviously sick teen made the snarl fall from his face, made him think of something other than the awkward situation he had gotten himself in to. As the dark haired teens panting breaths batted against his wrist, a small smile crossed the demons face.

Sitting next to the whelp was better than being locked away in the catatonic teen, despite all the difficulties he was having pulling the charade off.

There was a curt knock on the already open door and he jerked his hand away from Sasuke, turning around to watch a pink haired female walk in to the room. Her hands had clasped themselves together in front of herself and he saw the way her green eyes darted to him then the dark haired one on the bed next to him. Kyuubi could smell the nervousness wafting off of her in sheets and he had to fight to keep the grin off his face.

Naruto, he knew, did not like it when people were frightened of him because of, well, him. But he loved it and had to not act on his first impulse and truly give her a reason to fear him. Because if he did act on his first impulse, his borrowed body would be locked up in another cage, negating the purpose of him pretending to be Naruto. Besides, the general fear of him was good because it meant less people would try to interact with him. Which as far as he was concerned, was good. He did not want a lot of people around because it meant he had that many more people to try and dupe with his pretending.

Covertly watching as the female cast another worried glance over to Sasuke on the bed, then swearing silently to himself when she walked over to him and slowly wrapped her arms around him in a hug as she whispered an apology.

Freezing and scouring his hosts memories for what to do, he found the emotions and name tied to the pink haired female that had started to cry as she held on to him.

“It’s ok Naruto, you can relax, I’m not going to hurt you. I just wanted to see you, it’s been so long and, and.”

Apparently she took his ridged posture as a sign of fear or apprehension and thought he was frightened of her. Which triggered the tears that were flowing down her face to soak the fabric that covered his shoulder.

He heard the choked words as her throat tightened from her tears, not letting out any more sounds and the demon raised an arm to wrap around the weeping girls shoulders.

“It’s OK Sakura, it just takes a moment to get used to being touched, that’s all.”

More like it takes a moment to figure out how to respond to the touch.

Kyuubi felt her pull away and loosened his grip, letting his hands fall to rest around her tapered waist. She looked at him with her green, tear shined eyes and he forced himself to have a weak smile.

Kyuubi had no idea what it was about smiles that reassured people. The bastard snake had a smile on his ghastly face the majority of the time he was torturing the brat. He almost always had the fox version of a smile when he was killing off entire cities. But for some reason he did not grasp, the simple act of curving the corners of his mouth up, made the pink haired female stop crying.

Sakura wiped her eyes with the back of her hand and smiled back at the confused looking blond.

“Come on Naruto, I’m not the only person who missed you. The others are all waiting outside to see you and Sasuke has to go be prepared for surgery so it would be best if you were not in here, so come on.”

She knew she was talking fast to hide her nervousness and grasped the scarred, tan hand from her waist giving a reassuring squeeze before gently tugging him towards the door. Naruto, she noticed, had that look on his face again. Like he was trying to figure out something and kept his feet planted firmly on the hospital room floor as he looked back to the sleeping form on the bed.

He was just worried about leaving Sasuke then.

She knew the blond had been adamant about staying near the Uchiha and she did not blame him. She wanted to sit next to the bed and hold his hand but the look that Naruto had when he was with him spelled it out for her. The two were involved and she was not going to get in the way. She was not sure how deeply involved, but Naruto needed Sasuke now and she could stand back for a while until she knew if she had a chance or not with Sasuke.

But from the look on Narutos face, the genuine fact that he did not want to leave the raven haired teen was solid evidence that she should continue dating Lee. A part of her was apprehensive when she had started dating the green clad strong man because of the feelings she harbored for her team mate. Now that she had seen Sasuke again and the butterflies did not rush up to her stomach like when she was 12, it made her think that it was all just a girl hood crush that had finally passed.

Letting out a nervous sigh of relief at the simple fact she had gotten over Sasuke and catching Naruto looking at her oddly, she smiled and grabbed his hand, feeling the sweaty palm and giving another reassuring squeeze.

Smiling more solidly this time, more truthfully, having sorted out her own feelings. She tugged on Naruto’s hand and felt him close his fingers around hers and cast another worried glance to the occupant of the bed.

“He’ll be alright. The nurse’s are just waiting for us to leave so they can prep him for the surgery to fix his heart. Shizune will be in charge of the procedure and I have full faith that it will be a success.”

Kyuubi stood there watching Sasuke for a long moment before he turned to the girl and nodded.

“Ok, let’s go.”

Letting out the breath she had not realized she was holding, the strawberry blond started for the door out of the room with Naruto still holding her hand.

Leading the blond down the two flights of stairs then a hallway that ended at the entrance to the gardens at the rear of the hospital. As she pushed open the door out and he saw the small group gathered under one of the large oak trees next to a bench, he jerked his hand away like he had been burned and stepped back in to the safety of the building.

When she had said some, he had thought like three or four, not the 10 that were waiting for him.

Kyuubi recognized some of the people under the tree. The pale eyed one standing silently by as the green clad weird ones were there striking the queer pose’s and saying stupid things. He knew that they had seen Naruto from the town before they had come back to Konoha. They had been around the blond teen after the ordeal at the sound and already knew how the real Naruto acted. They would be able to tell that he was not Naruto if anybody could, with the exception of Sasuke. Sakura grabbed his hand again and was smiling at him as she tugged, saying that it was alright, trying to get him to go out there.

He wanted to snap the incessant wench in half.

From the memories he had pilfered from his host, he knew that Naruto had harbored a crush of the girl. That the girl knew of his borrowed body’s feelings and had let him hold her hand because she thought it was what he would of wanted.

Right now all he wanted was to crush her fingers in his hand and scream at the wench for toying with the brats emotions for all those years. For trying to use Narutos feelings, that he had to pretend to have, to drag him in to a situation he was unprepared for. Even if she had no clue what was going on, he still had to act out the part of his host and that meant holding the infernal females hand and make her think he liked being led around like a wounded puppy by her.

The deep growl that Kyuubi accidently let slip from his rageing anger at the situation , made the girl drop his hand and look shocked at him. Cursing himself, but mostly the wench that had evoked the dammed thing, he smiled a lop sided smile and reached back behind his head.

“Sorry Sakura, I don’t think that I should meet so many people.”

The green eyes softened from the scrutinizing gaze and she once again wrapped her arms around him.

“It’s ok to be frightened Naruto, you went through hell. But all of us are here for you now and we wont do anything to you, we wont let anything bad happen to you again. I promise that.”
Rolling his eyes at what was meant to be a reassuring promise, he had to stop mid roll and pretend look relieved as Sakura pulled back to look up at him. Feeling the solid warm pressure as her small hand closed around his own and force himself to not chew the damn hand off of his.

“So what do you say Naruto? Do you thing you can handle your old friends?”

Not knowing what to do, Kyuubi looked away from the jade eyes that were begging for him to say that he could handle it. Noticing as he looked away from the girl, that the members of the group had spotted the pink haired bitch and that every person that was waiting under the tree was covertly watching him and the wench. Making it impossible to get out of the confrontation.

Raging horribly for a few moments in his cage in the blond teen he was pretending to be. He closed his fingers around hers and let out a defeated sigh, hoping it came off as him gathering his courage and stepped out in to the bright sunshine.

He was Kyuubi no Yokai after all, he would find away to do this.

As one the group stopped talking and looked at him as he walked over. The silence that engulfed the garden was so thick Kyuubi thought he could taste it. Or maybe it was the fact that any of the people present could see right through the facade he was trying to pass of as their friend.

Just as he reached the first person, a man with most of his face hidden by the collar of a trench coat, a long haired blond girl squealed loud enough to make him flinch and wrapped her arms around him in a hug from behind.

“Oh Naruto we were so worried about you.”

The others just laughed or smiled, coming over to clap him on the back and start to talk about how much he was missed. His loud obnoxiousness, and practical jokes, his never ending smile and determination, how with out him being there, Konoha just was not the same.

Then the venom in Sakura’s voice making the others laugh again when she flat out ordered Ino to let go of him.

Kyuubi was reeling, he had expected suspicion and having to prove himself again, but no. These people just accepted him. The pony tailed one shaking his head and saying how bothersome it was with out him and the larger one next to him munching on a bag of greasy smelling potato chips nodding and talking in between bites. The two men leaning on the oak tree, one holding a book in front of him, but watching him to much to read it with his one uncovered eye and the other with his long white hair, eyeing the females.

When Ino leaned down to say something to Sakura, who had taken a seat in the nicely maintained grass, the long white haired mans eye shined as the blond showed a little to much cleavage.

Consulting his host for the correct response, Kyuubi barked out.

“Ero-sanin she’s not evan half your age.”

The two girls stopped mid argument and focused both their considerable wraiths on to the man who had started to back away from the girls with his hands up.

The one that smelled of dogs came over with his arm in a sling and laughed as Jiraiya dodged Sakura’s punch. Flipping through Naruto’s memories and finding what he needed, he tapped his fist against Kiba’s raised good one and asked how the arm was.

“Better than Lee’s.”

The dog lover gestured over to where the familiar green spandex clad teen was standing with most of his upper half in bandages from the fight with the akatsuki. Still the wrappings did not seem to stop the teen from striking a pose with his teacher, only to fall over grimacing as he pulled something still healing.

Mimicking Kiba’s wince of sympathy for Lee, then nodding to the two that had stayed a little off to the side. The trench coat clad Shino nodded back and Neji pointed discreetly to the back side of a near by tree that had shaking female form hiding behind it.

And somehow that felt normal, all of this felt normal. The bantering and gestures, the conversations about clouds or bugs or jutsu’s, it all made it feel like he, he belonged.

Not him really, they all thought he was Naruto, but he was the one experiencing it.

It was another odd sensation for the normally solitary beast to not only be feeling, but to feel that he was part of something. The connection that he felt with these humans was similar to the way he felt around Sasuke, different in that it was not a sudden lurch of his insides but a welling warmth that was making the corners of his mouth turn up on their own.

Before he could think about it more there was a gentle tap on his shoulder and he jumped around, startled that any human could sneak up on him. Doing a swift memory search and placing a name with the half hidden face.

“What is it Kakashi?”

The silver haired jounin nodded to the side and the fox looked in the direction of the nod. Spotting a green vested form standing off to the side, farther back even than Shino stood, but having a familiar face. He could not place it though, searching through Naruto’s memories he kept finding ones with the man standing in front of a class room writing on the board but there was no name, no feeling and it was blurred almost unrecognizably.

Slowly the man approached him and he noticed the weight of Kakashi’s hand on his shoulder as the man continued to stand behind him. What was it about the man coming towards him that he was supposed to know? Every time he found a memory of him, Naruto would jerk it away so he could not go deeper in to it and feel the emotions behind it so he knew how to act. Even in his barely reformed sub conscious, the teen shied painfully away from anything that had the man in it.

The man was closer now and Kyuubi could see the scar that ran across his nose. There was a look in the mans eyes, a odd shine that suggested tears. But why?

Closing his borrowed body’s eyes for a long moment, the demon returned to his own body still imprisoned in the teens stomach. Looking down at the still reforming mental image of his host, Kyuubi focused all of his considerable power in to dragging out the memories that Naruto was keeping from him about the man that, by now, should be standing right in front of him.

Seizing the elusive cluster of memory from the teen and stepping back in to control of the awaiting body, the demon forced the memories to play.

Pain.

Everywhere.

A scream tore out of his hosts throat and the demon frantically tried to stop the memory from playing behind his eyes. The images and pain kept playing though and this time, he screamed out loud as a remembered sharp pain hit him. The agony ran up his legs and the beast could not stop his borrowed body from collapsing like the way Naruto did in his memory.

Forcing himself to focus, the demon managed to push the pain back a little but could not stop the way his entire borrowed body shook and took raged pants for air. Lifting one hand that the pain seem to be radiating from at the moment and looking at it. He could see the shimmer of the remembered blood flow out as the hand was mangled as he watched, feeling the blood run down his arm as fingers were crushed.

Jerking back and slamming his shoulder in to Kakashi’s chest, who had kneeled down next to him, the contact forced the image to falter for a moment. The demon saw that the hand was still whole and felt arms wrap around him. Pressing him to a warm chest before the strength of Narutos remembered pain dragged him back in to the memory, blotting out the people around him as it took over.

It hurt.

All of him.

He could feel the throbbing radiating from what was left of his hand and the sharp pain from the cuts on his back. Different parts of him pounded in time with his heart beat and drawing breath was difficult. The kanji the man had carved in to his flesh still burned from the chemical they had poured in to the wounds and his thighs were still slick with his blood from what they had forced him to endure. Half his face screamed in agony as hot trails of blood drizzled off of him to pool around his prone body as he stayed still to ease the pain that he seemed shrouded in.

Then a sharp pain as he was kicked in the ribs and sent rolling. Crashing in to a cold solid object, but not wanting to open his eyes and find out what. A hand latched in to his hair, pulling his head up than shaking him.

“Wake up whore. This is no time to be passing out.”

When he still did not move, his head was slammed in the solid object he was pressed against.
Opening his eye and seeing the blurred form standing over him. His blood splatted on the mans front and a sick grin on the mans face.

“So what will it be, whore? Kill him? Or more pain?”

Rolling his head to the side and barely being able to spot the man hanging from the ceiling, Naruto watched as the man lifted his head for a moment and weakly smiled at him as tears ran down his face.

Then man standing over him stepped on his crushed hand and all he could do was let out a gargling scream of agony.

“Well bitch what will it be? More pain?”

The cold voiced man twisted his foot that was still on the blonds hand. Making him scream again.

“Or stopping it.”

Suddenly the foot lifted and the battered teen could only let out a few pants of pained breath. To exhausted to even curl up. The blond some how managed a groaning “yes, stop”.

He was so far gone he could barely recognize the significance of what he just agreed to, only that it would be the end of all the pain he was in, that it would stop and they would leave.
Laughing, the cold voiced man grabbed him around the shoulders and dragged him across the room, bumping him in to furniture and knocking him against a few walls as they passed.
It hurt, but soon it would be over.

Soon the pain would stop.

The rough motion stopped and Naruto could feel his weight be set on to his sliced feet as hands held him up by the arms. Just being held up like that hurt but it would be over soon, they said that it would stop if he did this. He felt a cold handle of a kunai be pressed in to his one, almost working, hand. Then pressure as his fingers were pressed closed around it.

Looking numbly up at the man stung up in front of him, he saw the pained smile and the tears streaming down the scared nose to drip to the floor. He felt like he should say some thing. But he could not figure out what. Then the dark haired man rubbed his unclothed crotch against his leg and said that it was his turn next with him if he did not hurry up.

Jerking the kunai forward at the threat, he felt it make contact and heard a grown. Hot crimson started to flow over his hand that held the kunai and dripped to the floor as he stood motionless in front of the man he had just stabbed to save himself.

Suddenly the support that had held him up, was removed and he fell to the floor at the mans feet.

Cruel, barking laughter came from behind him as he laid limply on the floor, thinking that it was over, that now they would leave. He had killed him, now the pain would start to fade.
A drop of blood dripped down, hitting his battered and torn cheek, interrupting his futile hopes that it was over. Then another, and another, turning over, the beaten blond looked up and saw the kunai sticking out of the mans chest. Saw the blood dripping out of the mouth and down the handle of the kunai to land on to him.

Naruto’s eyes grew wide as the sight cleared the pain fulled, red haze that had clouded it.
‘Oh my god, I killed Iruka.’

Kyuubi jerked away from the flood of memories the name had invoked, trying unsuccessfully to separate himself from them. Most of the memories were happy, some disappointing and then the sequence of events that led up to the apparent death of the man Naruto had deemed his father, at his own hand.

The demon could feel the burning sensation in his eyes and the hot trails down his face as tears dripped off his chin. Hands where holding him to a vest covered chest that was gently rocking and a familiar, steady voice was telling him to take deeper breaths, to calm down and to try to stop shaking, but mostly that it was alright.

Over and over the warm voice told him that it was ok now, he was safe, it was over.

That it was not his fault.

Eyes opening wide Kyuubi jerked away from Iruka, falling back and scrambling away, unable to hold back the torrent of emotions that was still over powering his own budding ones. Tears tumbled down his borrowed face again as flashes of what had happened replayed in his mind that was still joined to Narutos.

The waves of fear and pain, then the horrible guilt. Consuming him and making it feel like he was burning alive from the inside out.

The man took a step forward and the demon could not stop the cry that tore out of him.

“NO!!!. Your dead!!!. I killed you!!!.”

A set of strong hands grabbed his shoulders and he flinched horribly before he jerked his head up to see Kakashi kneeling behind him, preventing him from scrambling any farther back.

The familiar voice spoke in a distressed tone and he swivelled his head around to look at the not dead, dead man.

“No Naruto I’m not dead. You did not kill me. It’s Ok now, it’s all over.”

Iruka approached him as he spoke then kneeled in front of him.

Kyuubi’s emotions were whirling together with the brats despite all his efforts to separate them and as Iruka told him that it was not his fault, that the men made him stab him. He could not stop the tears from falling down his face again, or stop himself from latching on to the man with all his strength and crying all of the pent up pain, anger and hopelessness from what had happened, on Irukas shoulder.

Hearing the mans reassurances, that none of it was his fault, that it was over, released a tension that he did not even realize was there. It was as if a weight had been lifted from his shoulders and now he was 50 pounds lighter. Or Naruto did and Kyuubi was being dragged through the feeling as well.

Fighting the currents of raw emotion and getting control of himself again, the demon started to pull away from Irukas embrace. Taking deeper breaths and letting the surging pool of emotions settle back in to the recesses of the troubled sub conscious of the catatonic teen. Pulling away fully and wiping the tears from his now sore eyes, he saw the concerned faces around him.

His breathing was still rough and there was a raw edge to his nerves as he sat still for a moment and felt Irukas hand still comfortingly holding his shoulder.

He had felt Naruto’s feelings concerning this man, the pain and guilt as well as the better ones and as he watched Irukas face light up with the warmth that he himself had felt from all the memories that he had just been dragged through.

Iruka had made Naruto feel warm and protected, wanted and most importantly, loved.
That was what made his death by his hand so unbearable.

And now Kyuubi, abet unwillingly, felt the same.

But also he had gained the name of the emotion that made him stay beside Sasuke, made it so life was not as good with out the raven haired teen around.

He loved the bastard whelp.

This was a different love from what Naruto felt from Iruka, but close enough for him to tell that was what was wrong with him.

It was so, so...

Disgusting.

Demons did not love anything but themselves.

Had he sunk so low to be infected by his host’s feelings? He was a disgrace to all demons.
Love was stupid and worthless, just like all emotions except lust, anger and hate.

Growling low and dangerously, not caring who heard, Kyuubi pushed violently away from the man that made him recognize what it was he was feeling and jumped to his feet.

Running back in to the hospital, not caring that his body’s friends were shouting for him to stop.

He was Kyuubi no Yokai and had been careless enough to get infected by human emotions.
Slamming the door open and running through the halls of the hospital, the beast slid to a stop outside the room he had left Sasuke in.

It was the dark haired brats fault that he felt like this.

That he was now a disgrace to all demons for having sunk so low, for having emotions the prick had triggered.

Growling intently and scaring a passing nurse, a wonderful idea popped in to his fox brain.
If he got rid of the whelp, then he would not feel the horrible feeling anymore. With out the whelp to love, his love would crawl back in to what ever forgotten crevice in his brain that it had crawled out of.

Twisting around and sniffing, the Kyuubi got the sent of the raven haired teen he blamed for his disgraceful emotion he was suffering from.

Following the smell over the pungent aroma of anapestic and sick people, the fox darted through the halls, eager to put an end to his emotional problem.

Finally he found the place where the smell was the strongest and Kyuubi started to charge the double doors that held the teen in the major surgery ward. He was going to rip the teen to shreds and get rid of this god awful thing that had formed inside of him.

Storming up to the door and pushing it in, he saw the startled looks on a few of the doctors faces. Grinning like the fox he was, Kyuubi took a step in to the ward. Only to be tackled by one of the ANBU that were ordered to guard him, knocking him back in to the hallway.

Snarling viciously, Kyuubi threw the man from him and countered the attack from the masked mans partner.

Not caring anymore about keeping up the charade of who was in control and needing to feel like his old demon self, the beast did not hold back on the attacking ANBU. Ripping one mans arm open wide and slamming the other in the chest so hard he heard ribs pop.

Yes, this was what he liked, not stupid, petty feelings and emotion. What a worthless bunch of crap they were.

Blood, guts and gore. Making others scream in pain and anguish and not caring at all, just taking delight in the funny sounds his victims made was all that he needed.

A pinch in his leg stopped him mid roar and the beast slammed the masked ANBU across the hall where he laid still.

Kyuubi wanted to roar in glory at the wondrous thing that hate was, but the sudden draining of his chakra confused him. Fighting against it was proved useless, the draining forcing him back in to his cage, but not all the way. It left the door open, so to speak and he could still sense what was going on around Naruto, still have basic control the blonds body from the cage in his abdomen.

The demon forced his way back out far enough so that he could feel the needle that he had not noticed, slide out of the blonds calf muscle as he collapsed to the floor. Forcing himself out farther so he could control more of Naruto’s body, he tried to move slightly.

The poison the ANBU injected in to him had scrambled the chakra telling what body part to move so all that happened was an awkward jerk. Refusing to give in, Kyuubi forced the blond to move again and again and all Naruto did each time was an uncoordinated lurch.

Snarling viciously, Kyuubi raged against the new restrains the poison forced upon him.

Screaming and howling in his cage. Not caring that his rage transferred over to Narutos body so that he grew claws and his eyes went red.

He did not care about anything of anybody. He was a demon. Demons do not feel. Do not have emotions.

Going in to a flurry of rage, focusing his chakra to fight the poison, he did not notice that the emotions he had forced to the surface of Narutos sub conscious were still raging in the confines of his cage. Or that they were gaining strength.

Just as he made the poison leave the body and was about to jump out of the cage, the tide of raw emotions from the abused teen crashed over the susceptible demon. Drowning the beast once again in the emotional torrents.

Tsunade strode down the hospital hall like a woman possessed. She had been worried about Naruto non stop since he had returned and once he had awakened from the catatonic state, her worries just increased. There had been something off in his behavior. Shinobi always had the possibility of being captured by the enemy on a mission and what happened after that, left scars. Mentally more than physically in most cases and Naruto had been acting according to what torture victims normally acted like, but there was just that moment of hesitation that threw her off. Almost all rape victims would finch instantly if someone touched them, Naruto paused before he shied away.

It was enough to convince her that for once the elders were right to send ANBU to watch him.
Now that she had received the urgent summons to the hospital because of Naruto, she was almost glad that the old bats were paranoid.

Turning the last hall before the major surgery unit she saw the commotion.

Iruka sat on the floor holding Naruto that one moment looked like he wanted to kill the man, then the next moment holding him and crying uncontrollably.

Kakashi and Gui, who had returned from his mission two days ago, were facing off against the one standing ANBU and the other ANBU was surrounded by nurses as he lay limply on the floor.

Taking control and ordering the ANBU to stand down and to help the nurses get his partner to the treatment room, then to stay with him until further notice. Once he had stepped away, she went to the blond form still being held by Iruka.

At the moment Naruto was making small noises as he cried on his pseudo father.

“What happened?”

Iruka looked up at her and her heart melted from the sight of the man almost at tears. She knew he blamed himself for not being able to protect Naruto when he was at his house and that he was an emotional wreck the months that the blond was in the sound.

The mans voice very nearly cracking as he started to speak.

“He flipped out when he saw me. Screaming in pain like it was happening all over again just from seeing me. Then he snapped out of it and thought that I was still dead, that he had killed me. I had just started to get him to calm down when he bolted away. When I caught back to him , he was here, fighting the ANBU like he was Kyuubi and the downed one stabbed a needle in to his leg before he was slapped away. Then Naruto collapsed and has been like this ever since.”

The large breasted woman could see the chunnins hands shaking as he clutched desperately on to Narutos bland hospital shirt. More for his own sanity than for comforting the teen.

Naruto let out a animalistic howl and started to claw at Iruka trying to get him to let go of him. She watched as Iruka just sat there and let the wild blond claw up his arm but refuse to let go. Then Naruto collapsed and winced away like he had been struck, burying his face in to Irukas vest like he was terrified and whimpering pitifully.

Kneeling down, Tsunade set one hand on the teen that to her, seemed like he was wavering in between Kyuubi and Naruto.

Feeling the chakra signatures and sorting out what was going on from them.
Removing her hand after a few moments, she stood and looked down at the blond that had started to make her hair turn gray from all the stress and worrying she had done over him the last seven months.

“What is it Tsunade sama?”

Irukas worried voice made he look in to the mans eyes and sigh.

“I don’t know.”

A sob rose up from Naruto as the blond clutched Iruka’s vest tightly. She wanted to take him from the man, hug the blond tightly and make it all better, but she did not even know what was going on with him.

Sighing again, she shook her head. She was the hokage and had a responsibility to all of the people in Konoha.

“Get him set up in one of the secured rooms.”

There was a crushed look on the chunnins face as she turned to the mans lover.

“Keep an eye on him and get me if the situation changes or if Iruka gets to ripped up. I know that now that he has him back, he’s not going to let Naruto go again.”

The silver haired Jounin nodded and he and Gui solemnly walked passed her to help Iruka with the ever changing Naruto. Carrying the teen when he was sobbing and wrestling him when he seemed intent to rip them apart.

Watching them go the elevator and Gui volunteering to race down the stairs to warn the secured level about what was coming their way. Then the green beast was gone and the elevator doors closed, sending the hallway in to silence again.

Turning around Tsunade peeked in at the Uchiha currently under the knife. The mess of black hair on the metal table as kanji was drawn on his pale flesh for the wound closing jutsu they would use as soon as the valve was repositioned properly.

She intended to be right there waiting for him to wake up because from what little she did learn from her sorting out of what was going on with in Naruto, all of it was tied to the sedated teen on the table.
