Chapter 1:: Sweet, Peaceful Home
Come Come Paradise... My favorite book. Kakashi thought to himself as he sat on a rock, not too far from the lake where Sakura, Naruto, and Sasuke were fishing at. He turned from page to page, moving closer to his favorite part. How many times has he read it? He dosen't even know. A question he continues to ask himself that may never be answered. What makes him love that book so much is that it has a kind of romance that would never hapen in reality. It somehow 'trigers' his emotion. He would kill for a romance oportunity like he had always read about in that book. If only...
"What are you reading?"
Kakashi jumped and looked up from the pages he was lost in. "Ohh, Sasuke. I didn't hear you." He gave a sigh.
"Oh don't wory about it." With a happy smirk painted on his face.
"So, um, where's Sakura and Naruto?" Kakashi, not knowing what else to say.
"They're still fishing. You know they're slow at everything they do." Sasuke gave a sour look. Kakashi quckly noticed and avoided it. There was a slight pause between the two. Then came a curious cat, "What are you reading?".
Sasuke tried to take a peak over Kakashi's head. Of course, the teacher imediately moved it far from Sasuke's sight. "It's my favorite book. It's called Come Come Paradise."
"Can I read it?"
"Your not alowed. Adults only." Kakashi teased, even though he was right.
"Come on! I see you reading it all the time! It's tempting me!" Sasuke annoyed his Sensei eagerly.
"Hmm, how about we make a deal?" Sasuke slowly turned his head closer, sudenly everything got a lot quieter. "You're sixteen, right? For your eighteenth birthday, I'll lend it to you. But, if you manage to grab it from me before then, I'll lend it to you at that time." Sasuke thought for a minute. Kakashi leaned closer over. "Does that sound fair?"
Sasuke gave a devilish smirk. "I take that bet!" They both smiled. Even though they knew very well that from then on it was going to be a rough competition until Sasuke got that book.
"Okay! We're done fishing!" Sakura came rushing twards the two, right along side with Naruto. The both had a string of fish in each hand.
Kakashi looked up in exitement of the large amount of fish they cought. They could very well feed an army! "Wow! It looks like we're gonna have a feast tonight!" Everyone became fully excited and full of energy. The fab four got their things and set in the direction of their town, which wasn't that far.
It took them about fifteen minutes to reach the village gate tops, and they were walking slow. With everyone slightly confused, Naruto gave a little hint. "Hey, Hey, umm, I have a kitchen and I can always allow company, so..." He trailed off. Even though he didn't need to say any more, everyone seemed to get the point.
"Ohh don't worry! We were going to go to your house anyway!" Sakura gave a cheerful smile, and acomplished in making Naruto blush. Kakashi just sighed, and Sasuke looked away and pretended he didn't know anyone there. As usual.
Kakashi then butted in, "Okay Okay, I'll go get some suplies at the store while you go and get settled down."
"Alright! Gotthya!" Screamed a happy, little Naruto.
~****************~
"That will be $7.50 sir."
"Alright," Kakashi digged in his back pocket for spare change and left the store. All he got really was some bread, pepper, and soy sauce. He walked down the street and noticed someone walking behind him.
"Hello there, Kakashi." Smiled the 3rd Hokage.
"Oh, um, hey. Whassup?" The Hokage tried to ignore Kakashi's rude greeting and coughed lightly to himself.
"Kakashi, I wanted to thank you on behalf of your greatness." The Hokage slightly turned his head.
Kakashi just stoped, and stood there, confused. "My...greatness...?" He said with shock obviously in his voice.
The old man just laughed. "Ha Ha! Ofcourse! Listen, you are, infact, one of the best damn Junun's I've ever had! You're hard working, caring, loyal, have a good personality, and still you're quite very young!" He smiled.
"Well, uh, Sir, I...um, don't know what to say..." This was all very suddon to him. A compliment? From the great Hokage of the Leaf Village? He has always did his best, but being higly complimented by someone who is clearly one among the best of the best.
"I just want to let you know that I want you to keep it up. Hell, if you do even better now, I'd better watch my place!" They laughed. "And also, I want you to make me proud. you know, be a model of the perfect human being, and I mean no side-tracks."
"Side-tracks?" Kakashi questioned slightly.
"Yes, actually, what I'm really supposed to talk to you about is consider a certain woman," Then, things got quiet. There was a short pause.
"Woman? Consider?" Kakashi asked blankly.
His greatness took a deep breath. "There is this woman, who is my niece, that I would ask you to take her hand in marrige." The geezer smiled.
"What?! You mean you want me to marry someone who I don't even know?"
"Well ofcourse not, I want you to meet her first. But, you could decline at any moment if you want to, I will understand." The old man stoped his happines.
"I'm very, deeply, extreamely, really very sorry. But, I can't. I just can't consider something like this. I really hope you do understand..."
"Oh why yes of course I do! I was just making a suggestion, that's all. I would just like to see you happy, with a lovely, beautiful wife ofcourse." He then smiled once again.
"Well, I thank you very much for your concern." Kakashi waved off a smile and went the other way for Naruto's house.
~****************~
They all got to Naruto's house pretty quickly. Everyone comfortably threw their shoes off and rested their gear and things at the inside of the front door. When Kakashi came back, Sakura ran her way to the kitchen, since she suggested she prepare the meal, Naruto went straight to the bathroom, and Sasuke and Kakashi just sat arround in the living room (or guest room). The two sat there in silence, not knowing just what to say. All they were thinking about was the tempting smell of Sakura's cooking coming from the kitchen stove.
Kakashi took a deep breath and opened his mouth. "So, um, Sasuke, uhh... Nevermind..." There was a short pause. Just at that very moment Sasuke burst out laughing, not possibly trying to control himself. Kakashi, feeling very much like an idiot, laughed right along side with Sasuke. Well, that's what you get for being an idiot, Kakashi thought.
Just that minute Naruto walked in the room and saw them laughing histerical. Just a simple "Uhh...." was all he could say.
"Dinner's ready! Come n' eat!" Sakura finaly called out from the kitchen a few moments later.
"Jeez, took you long enough!"
"Naruto, shut up!" Sakura screamed back.
Kakashi walked in with a bowl in his hand, "Mmm, this sure smells good Sakura!" Snifing through his mask standing over the table.
"It better! I busted my ass making all that fish!" She unintentionaly screamed at Kakashi from scolding at Naruto so much. She noticed what she did and slightly apologized.
Then it hit them. The three stooges, Sasuke, Naruto, and Sakura. They steped aside and blankly stared at the clueless Kakashi as he sat at the table ready to eat, waiting for the others. If he was going to eat with them...then he had to take his mask off...
It hit them like a truck to an inocent squirll. This was it. This was their very chance to see it. Once and for all. They still stood there like stones, pondering on his features. Each sharing their ideal thoughts, still having their back at him.
"That was delicious! Thank You very much!" They turned around to see a pleased Kakashi with a clean already-used bowl with...his mask on.
"OHHH COME ON!!!!!! AUGHH!!!!" Was all that came from that house, which was heard from all the way down the block.
"WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?!?! COULDN'T YOU'VE WAITED FOR US??"
"Well, I was hungry...and you were all just standing there..." Squirked a very confused Kakashi.
"You know what?! Nevermind!" Screamed Naruto and Sakura all together. Still, Kakashi, being very confused.
"Okay..."
After the sunset, it was time for everyone to leave and go home. Naruto waved as the three parted from his house from yet another day. Well, tomorow's another day, Naruto gladly thought. He closed the door, turned the T.V on and got comfertable.
Sakura was the closest to Naruto's house so she was parted first. Then, it was just Kakashi and Sasuke left.
"It's such a nice breeze tonight." Kakashi looked up at the radiant stars and lightly sighed to himself. Sasuke looked up at him, deep in thought. Something seemed to be on his mind.
Kakashi then looked down at his comrad, "Here, let's take a short cut to our houses through the park". Sasuke nodded.
It took them no longer than twenty minutes to pass through, and they even got to sit down for a minute or two and just, talked. It was nice, they simply explained their mornings, the day before that, and what they planed on doing the next day. Who ever knew, something so simple could be a most beautiful thing.
Later that night, after Sasuke got home safe and sound, Kakashi went to his house and got ready for bed. Yes, sleep was all that was on his mind. Just the thought of a nice, fluffy pillow made him smile. He slowly took all his day clothes off, incloding his mask, and put his night clothes on. A simple small, white T-shirt with a pair of tan-colored air jeans. Even though the T-shirt was a small size, it still looked pretty big on him, It was just the fact that he was really skiny. But that didn't mean he didn't have any muscle, though. He had a lot of it, the six-pack, the back tones, everything. And the countless scars all over his body made him look even tougher.
As he sat on his bed, he noticed two pictures of his on the shelf over his bed. One, was from when he was a small teenager, with his two companions by him and his Sensei behind them all together. He then looked at the other one, almost comparing the two. The other one, was basicly tha same. Except he was in the place of his Sensei, and the others were none other than the peanut gallery he knows oh so very well. Sudenly, something on the newer picture cought his mind. He stood silent as he endlessly stared at Sasuke, in the photo. He looked lovely that day. Heverything he wore, his attitude, his facial expressions, everything. Minutes went by and still he looked at that boy.
He snaped out of it, picked up one of his smaller cute, little dogs and layed down on his matress. Ah yes, the clean, smoothe feeling of the sheets careased and welcomed him into a deep, endless slumber. Just a few more seconds and...-
"KAKASHI!"
The man jumpd up in fear as he looked at the door to see just who his introder was.
"Who the hell-?! Oh, Iruka, it's you." He then sighed in releaf and slowly relaxed again. "So, um, what seems to be the problem? You seem out of breath."
Iruka, still standing at the wide-open door, took quick deep breaths and held his breath in, "Listen, there was a noise, just a few minutes ago, and a lot of people noticed it, and, and,-"
"And?" A calm, layed back Kakashi.
"And me and the third Hokage started looking around this area, and we found a residence that seemed to be robed, and, and,"
"And?" Again.
"And, Sasuke's missing!!"
About three seconds latter, this finaly went through Kakashi's brain, then he just sat there, in silence, took a deep, controled breath, and-
"WHAT?!?!"
To be Continued.
