Dimension Travel Makes Me Sick
All that could be seen was the white light. It felt like floating in strange thick water but at the same time there were no feelings. No pain, no anger (or not much), just generally no feelings.
“Are we dead?” Alexei's voice seemed to echo.
“I can't be dead! I'm too young and beautiful to die yet!” Marionette cried.
“I thought you were like a hundred and something.” Alexei mused.
“That is young for an elf, stupid human.” Shadow Hawk mocked.
“What did you say, you little shit?!” Alexei growled.
“I don't think we're dead. I don't feel dead.” Duncan stated.
“I feels sick.” Trog grumbled.
“Oh lord, now we really will be dead.” Alexei moaned.
“Wait. It feels like I'm sinking.” Duncan informed.
“Hey. Same he…” Marionette began to say before color and light flashed before every ones eyes.
They were falling toward a rolling forest, a stream cut through the center. In the distance a cliff rose over the trees. Shadow Hawk hit ground first and easily landed on his feet and sprang aside to avoid the falling Alexei. Alexei crashed full plate into the ground with a resounding bang and groan. His sword driving into the ground by his pride and joys (wink, wink) and his helmet collided with his head upside down. Marionette landed neatly in the trees nearby and balanced on the branches naturally. Duncan came down in a heap on top of Alexei as his book fell open on top of his head. A second latter the resounding bang and screams of pain filled the forest scaring birds into flight. Trog had fallen onto his two comrades with an interesting crunch. Duncan had barely twisted his body around the sharp spikes of Trog's armor (well mostly).
“Get off of me you ape!” Duncan cried out as he tried to grip his pierced foot.
“Oh, sorry Duncan.” Trog scratched the back of his head. “I no feels good.”
“WHAT?! NOOOO!” rang out from Alexei and Duncan scaring more birds to wing.
A short time latter found the mismatch group standing around the bank of the stream while Alexei and Duncan dunked themselves under water several times (both at the time only wearing their pants, their clothes and armor drying on the shore).
“Eww.” Marionette stuck her tongue out.
“Now they're really disgusting humans.” Shadow Hawk chuckled.
“Sorry I feels sick.” Trog rumbled as he rubbed his stomach.
“Will you guys shut the hell up!” Alexei growled as he splashed more water over his face.
There was a sudden rush of wind and there were suddenly five black cloaked and masked figures surrounding the party.
“No one move!” One of them shouted.
“Ah? What they say?” Trog said groggily as he toppled over and began to snore.
“What the fu…”Alexei and Duncan began before passing out in similar ways as the climbed out of the stream.
Soon Shadow Hawk and Marionette were forced out of the trees and into the open beside their comrades as more cloaked men appeared.
“What do we do?” Marionette asked worriedly as she tried to keep her bow trained on the surrounding men.
“Don't know. They're highly trained assassins or ninja of some sort. Can't tell what their motives are. I guess we give up.” Shadow Hawk shrugged as he put his hands up reluctantly.
“Wha…” Marionette began as she turned toward her dark friend.
One of the ninja used the opening to yank her bow away and knock her out with a single strike. Shadow Hawk looked at the masked person for a second. He wore a pocketed vest, navy blue pants, and strange sandals under his black cloak. His mask looked vaguely like a wolf with a swirl like leaf carving on the forehead.
"I take it you're in charge?" Shadow Hawk asked as he eyed the person.
"You will be bound and come with us." The wolf mask ordered.
"I kind of figured that. You will need something more for my friend over there." Shadow Hawk pointed out motioning toward Trog.
"Ah right." Wolf mumbled as he motioned for the other cloaked men to tie up the party.
In the end the procession was that of one tied up black skinned person being marched into Konoha, two men and one woman being carried in, and then two carts. One cart carried the confiscated equipment while on the other was the strange huge man. It drew quite the crowd as it made its way through the village.
"Hey, what's going on?!" Konoha's number one most surprising loudmouth ninja asked.
"The ANBU caught some strangers out in the woods." One man explained.
"Really! Then they must be going to see Tsunade-baa-chan." Naruto concluded as he dashed off.
"Baa-chan?" The person responded as he turned to see only an orange blur.
A little while latter at the Hokage office Tsunade sat behind her desk furiously filling out different scrolls and orders.
'I thought being Hokage would be a lot more physically.' Tsunade mentally grumbled.
There was a knock at the door and Shizune stuck her head into the office.
"Tsunade-sama, Kakashi and a squad of ANBU shinobi have caught some strangers outside the village." She explained.
"And why did he catch them?" Tsunade questioned as one of her eyebrows raised in annoyance.
"Well maybe it would be easier if you saw for your self." Shizune suggested.
Tsunade grumbled as she stood and followed her assistant out of the office (secretly glad for the distraction). Shizune led the older blonde to the ANBU holding areas of the Hokage complex. On the way she tried to explain a few things.
"Well first, all of the ANBU shinobi have stated they feel something off about the strangers. Second they carry strange items, armor, and weapons. And even though two of them seem close to normal the others are highly different."
"How so?" Tsunade asked impatiently.
"I think you should see that." Shizune recommended as she led the Hokage into the first secure room.
The room was spartan and currently under the watch of two ANBU guards. On the bed lay a bound and still knocked out Marionette.
"What so strange?" Tsunade observed the sleeping woman.
"Can't you feel the strange aura?" Shizune pressed.
"Yes, of course but other then that and the ears?" Tsunade glared at the younger woman.
"We can't be sure till they wake." Shizune admitted. "But the other two are stranger yet."
"Then lead on." Tsunade instructed.
They soon came into a large room where in the center the sleeping and chained form of Trog lay on the floor.
"What is that?" Tsunade asked wide eyed.
"We aren't sure. We think it may be some kind of oni." Shizune shrugged "But the only awake captive says that it is one of his comrades."
"One of them is awake, why didn't you tell me?!" Tsunade shouted.
"Well he is the other stranger one." Shizune tried to explain to the angry Kage.
"Take me to him now." Tsunade ordered with a growl.
"Hai Hokage-sama." Shizune bowed her head.
They came to the one way mirror of one of the interrogation rooms, inside there sat under the only over head light a black skinned man with pointy ears like the woman before and blood red eyes. Inside one of the ANBU interrogators was questioning the man.
"Is his skin naturally black and his eyes that red?" Tsunade asked.
"It would seem so. It also appears he gives of a slight demonic aura." Shizune answered.
"Switch on the mic. I want to hear what they're saying before I go in." Shizune did as instructed and a static hiss and then voices broke through.
"Are you from the Sound?!" The interrogator demanded.
"What sound? What in the bloody hells are you humans babbling about now?" Shadow Hawk yawned.
"Are you a spy or assassin?!" The interrogator continued.
"Yes. I am an assassin for hire, highest bidder or best provider. You want them dead and I deliver, with help sometimes." Shadow Hawk admitted.
"What was your mission?!"
"We had to kill some old mage fart and were about to go collect pay really when we got sucked into this place. What ever this place is?" Shadow Hawk explained.
Tsunade and Shizune used this time to slip into the room and stood in the shadows out of sight. Or so they thought. Shadow Hawk's ear twitched and his blazing red eyes pinned right on to Tsunade in the shadows.
"Ah ladies and one of power even, maybe things can make sense now." Shadow Hawk smiled.
"Wha... What?" The interrogator mumbled as he turned to the new arrivals. "Hokage-sama!" The man exclaimed as he bowed before the blonde woman.
"I knew I was right." Shadow Hawk smile widened.
"Who are you?" Tsunade asked in death tones.
"Shadow Hawk my lady, at your service, for the right price." Shadow Hawk announced like he wasn't bound to a chair.
"For a price?" Tsunade's eyebrow arched.
"Assassin for hire, you give me something and I work for you. And right now I think knowing what's happening, where I am, and some freedom would be nice." Shadow Hawk emphasized with a tug of his bound arms.
"Let's talk." Tsunade replied seriously.
...
