Day Before Valentines

A/N: Let's read! Enjoy!

Genre: Romance/Humor

Setting: This took place after Sasuke was brought back from Orochimaru by Naruto and the others. This is just a one-short fic based on Sasuke's POV! They were all 15 years old and Neji, Lee and Tenten were 16!

Main Pairing: Sasuke/Naruto.. Shounen-ai!

Summary: Sasuke wanted to buy the perfect gift for Naruto on Valentines Day. Pride aside, he went lots of trouble and gathered lots of courage just to ask people, who were close to the blond, what he would like to have for tomorrow!

Warnings: SasuNaru.. which means Shounen-ai! OOC-ness! Sasuke find Sakura annoying in this fic! Don't like then don't read! I've warned you so don't come and flame me about this!

Chapter II

I walked out of the restaurant after having eaten my lunch. I looked around and wondered who should I go consult next.. Hmm.. Neji. YUP! Hyuuga Neji. That silver eyed freak, who would always stared at me, as if he knew what was going on in my mind!

Hm.. I sighed inwardly. How I wish I could see my blond right now.. Yup, with blonde hair and beautiful sapphire eyes like the one in front of me with a Hyuu.. Matte! That was Naruto! He was chatting with Hinata happily, enjoying a conversation which me and Naruto would never will.

I kept thinking that Naruto maybe had feelings for that Hyuuga! Grrr! I could feel jealousy, envy as well as alittle anger.. Mix of emotions inside me! I tried to ignore them by apparently, being a polite girl, Hinata greeted me.

“Ko.. nichiwa, Sasu.. ke-kun.” Hinata still couldn't get rid of her stammering. Nevertheless, she was just a sweet girl. If I were straight, I would surely go for her but too bad.. A certain blond had filled the place in my heart.. Jeez! I'm talking as if I'm a girl in love.. ANYWAY..

“Hn.” I gave my acknowledgement to her greeting. I tried to ignore Naruto though. I was afraid a blush would come if I looked at him too much. Further more, he was the one who was gonna ignore me.

“W-where are.. you g-going, Sasuke-kun?” Hinata asked shyly out of politeness.

“I'm going to Hyuuga residence. Hyuuga Neji.” I added that Neji's name at the back of my sentence, in case she asked what was up. I couldn't let Naruto know anything, right? RIGHT? Someone tell me that please..

“I'm g-going back.. too.. If y-you don't.. mind, I'll b-bring you there..” Hinata offered, “Afterall, you.. need a Hyuuga.. f-from.. the m-main family.. to get you in..”

I had alittle trouble understanding her. Nevertheless, I knew she was offering out of kindness.

“If that case, thanks.” I thanked her.. I THANKED her.

Hinata bid goodbye to Naruto before walking in front of me, leading the way.

Just when I was about to follow Hinata, hands gripped slightly on my left wrist. I turned and saw Naruto with his face lowered. I frowned.. quite bewildered.

I heard him mumbled. “Why did you ignore my presence..?” His voice didn't sound very pleasant. In fact, idiot could heard that his voice indicated he was upset.

“Naru..” My voice trailed off as both of his hands slowly let go of my wrist.

After a few seconds, he snapped up his head with a wide grin. A fake one.. I could tell.

“Nothing! Just kiddin' ya! Ja!” And he ran off in the opposite direction.

I could swear a thousand times that I saw a flash of sadness in his eyes when he looked at me. He thought nobody know he was hiding behind his mask. Well.. At least I knew.

I wanted to catch up with him but a voice behind me called. “Sasuke-kun..”

Sighing, I turned and trotted to Hinata, “Hn.”

On the way to Hyuuga residence, no conversation more than 3 sentences between us.

I was wondering if I could get help from her.. I mean, she's a girl and she knew what people would like to have for Valen.. Chotto. Hinata likes Naruto so there's no way I would ask her about this!

I sighed wearily.

I had reached the Hyuuga residence now thanks to Hinata. I bid her a goodbye before going up to the door. What would I do now.. Knock? Then what would I do after I've knocked? What if he..

“It's not nice for guest to wait, you know.” A voice was heard from inside the house.

Great.. Byakugan I supposed. The door opened in front of me and stood the older one, gesturing me to go in. I just gave a nod.

“I'm supposed Hinata brought you in, Sasuke.” Neji said.

Both of us had changed the way we called each other. He used to call me `Uchiha' and I called him `Hyuuga'. Demo.. now's different. We dismissed anymore formalities.

I cleared my throat before asking.. AGAIN, “Hn. I just want to ask..” Shit.. I didn't know what to say now! I mean.. Just to ask the same thing, is that difficult? Yes..

“What you want?” Neji frowned slightly.

“It's about Naruto.” I quickly gave a reply.

It was damn obvious that he was alittle shocked at first before calming himself down. “What happen to him?” he was some sort like.. demanded!

Even though he demanded, I didn't think that was any wrong. Everyone knew that Hyuuga Neji treated Naruto as close as his brother. Now.. First things first.. “Iie. I just want to know.. what.. he will like for tomorrow.” And again, I turned my head away in embarrassment.

It was good that to feel him relax again but I swore that I heard him chuckled! What was so funny about it? I was so damn serious!

“Oh.” He simply replied. His lips twitched alittle, I SAW THAT AT THE CORNER OF MY EYES!

“Hn.” I growled.

“I think if I were Naruto, I would like to have teddy bear.” He smirked.

Alright, Uchiha. Take a deep breath and don't lost your cool. “What are you laughing at?” I scowled, “I like him, can't I?”

Damn.. It slipped off my mouth.

“Hahaa..” Neji let out alittle laughter. LAUGHTER. He sure changed a lot over those years.

“He did say before, remember?” Neji frowned, “..when it was on Sakura's birthday.”

OH YA! How could I forget? Damn.. Sakura's birthday then. She practically pulled the unwilling me to her party. If it wasn't for Naruto, I wouldn't have went there!

Now. Finished asking. Next step, get out off here! I didn't want him to keep laughing and teasing me.

“Thanks, Neji.” I stood up and headed for the front door.

I heard mutters behind me. I turned around but saw that Neji was already gone. Nevertheless, I heard he had just said. “He likes teddy bear with blue ribbons, he said before.”

I know. I let a small smile went across my lips.

Now.. Who should I consult next? Iruka-sensei! He was the closest to Naruto I supposed! Right.. Go find him then! ..but where? I didn't know where he lived.. Have to ask someone then.

I saw a bunch of girls.. Tenten, Ino and Sakura in front of me. Great.. girls! I just hope they didn't se.. Too late. They saw me! I just gave them a bored face.. not to all but mostly, Sakura. Tenten wasn't interested in me. Ino had her mind and heart set towards Shikamaru I think..

“Sasuke-kun!” Great.. Here she came, running towards me.

“Hn.” I just gave the bored expression ran around my face. What you want me to react huh? `Sakura! I'm so glad to see you'? NO WAY!

“Sasuke-kun! What are you doing here?” she asked as he latched on my left arm.

I shook her off and walked away. I hadn't had time to waste on entertaining her.. I needed to consult som.. Wait! I could ask one of the girls for help! Iie.. This is stupid. No way! But.. For the sake of Naruto, Sasuke!

I turned around, and there again.. The pink haired girl looked at me with hopes in her eyes, as if waiting for me to ask her out. Forget about her! Tenten.. I didn't want to trouble her too much. I'm not so close with he.. Wait. That means left only Ino.

“Ino.” I called the blonde, “Can I have a word with you?”

I could see Sakura's jaw dropped. I smirked inwardly and asked Ino again, “Can I?”

Ino just gave me a smile, “Sure!”

I was glad that Ino had chosen Shikamaru over me. She became quite a pleasant girl after she had left those crazy bitches who were mad over me. Great.. Don't talk about that anymore! Right now.. Naruto comes in first!

“Sasuke-kun! Why don't you tal..” Sakura was unable to continue her sentence as I gave a cold glare right into her eyes.

Then, I walked away with Ino by my side.

“So! What you wanna talk about?” Ino asked cheerfully.

The way she behaved made me alittle uncomfortable, unable to bring myself to ask because she's a girl.. But I had to! Buying something for someone.. I had never done before.. let alone on Valentines Day!

“If you wanna ask me about buying something for someone special, just bring that lucky person out for a candle-light dinner!” Ino said with a grin.

“Huh?” I was too stunned by her reply. Don't tell me..

“I know already!” She grinned at me, “Give your best! Sasuke-kun!”

“What?” I asked, frowning.

“You like Naruto huh? I know. Me and Shikamaru know!” she smiled.

Great.. I should have known. If Shikamaru knew, Ino was no exception. They were kinda together. I felt somehow happy for the blonde to have such a clever boyfriend who had IQ higher than 200 despite being lazy. I wondered if his IQ would get lower if he went lazy.

I chuckled at the thought of it.

“Hn. You too.” I replied and thanked her before walking away as cool as possible. Wait. I forgot something. “Ino!”

“Huh?” Ino turned her head.

“Do you know where Iruka-sensei lived?” I asked.

“Yea! You just walk straight and turn to the left. The last apartment is his!”

“Hn!” I waved a goodbye at her.

What the? How many people know my affection towards Naruto! I mean.. Is it that obvious? I mean.. Is it that the whole of Konoha know? GRRR! Stressed..

Knock.. Knock..

No answer.

Knock.. Knock..

No answer.. again.

Knock! Knock!

Okay! That was it! I quit.

Just as I was about to turn and leave the doorstep, the door was slammed open and there! A topless Kakashi? A grumpy.. Kakashi..

“What you want?” he asked. Annoyance could be heard from his voice.

“I..” What should I do? Why was Kakashi in Iruka-sensei's house? And he was.. TOPLESS?

“Who is it, Kakashi?” a voice behind the jounin was heard. It appeared to be..

“Iruka-sensei?” I asked in much confusion.

“Ahh!” Iruka-sensei immediately pulled the jounin into the house and before slamming the door on my face, he mumbled, “Wait for awhile!”

Well.. That was quite.. interesting? Iruka-sensei and Kakashi.. were together? They were TOPLESS! I emphasized on this point! Nevertheless, I waited quietly at the doorstep, waiting to be invited in.

In less than 2 minutes, the door was opened again.

“Sasuke-kun.. What brings you here?” Iruka-sensei smiled, “Well, don't just stand there.. Come on in!”

I walked in. I could see that his house was just.. neat and clean. Everything was in their rightful place except..

“Iruka-sensei.. What's this?” I picked up a.. CONDOM?

Iruka-sensei quickly snatched away from my hand and gaped nervously, “Take a sit!”

I arched one of my eyebrows. After he had placed that object away, he settled down beside me on the sofa. “What brings you here, Sasuke-kun?”

“I..” Okay. Now here I went, saying, “Do you know what people would like for tomorrow?” I was quite surprised at myself for not stammering like I did earlier. Maybe because Iruka-sensei was more comfortable to talk with. Or maybe there wasn't much people around..

“Valentines?” Iruka-sensei tilted his head.

I nodded. Even though I was feeling kinda nervous and embarrassed about this, I didn't show it on my face. I'm a Uchiha! As cool and calm as always.

“Who is that lucky girl, Sasuke-kun?” Iruka gave a cunning smile.

“Not a girl.” I said it in a matter-of-fact tone. I didn't give any girl a second look.

“Not a girl? Who is it then?”

“No need for you to know.”

“Well.. Then I wouldn't know what that person like for tomorrow.” Iruka-sensei gave a then-don't-ask-me kind of look.

How could a sensei blackmail student! Not fair.. at ALL!

“Naruto.”

“NARUTO?”

I gave a bored look. It was definitely normal since Iruka-sensei and Kakashi weren't that straight as I thought them to be too.

Surprisingly, he calmed down afterwards. “Hmm.. I think he would like star-gazing I supposed. When he was young, he always pull me to watch stars with him.” Iruka-sensei smiled at the memories he had with Naruto, “And you know about the upcoming festival on next Sunday? He wanted to go too!”

Star-gazing huh? Not to bad. Festival? Not a problem.

“What for you wanna know?” a voice came from the kitchen, belonged to Kakashi. I knew he would start teasing me again!

I ignored his question. I didn't wish to repeat this kind of stuff. Too embarrassing for me! There was no way for me to kee..

“Yea, Sasuke-kun..” Iruka-sensei agreed with Kakashi.

Damn. I could avoid Kakashi's but not Iruka-sensei's. I took a deep breath and started speaking, “Like you and Kakashi. Iruka-sensei.” And the chuunin's cheek tainted pink.

And before I wanted to continue, Kakashi interrupted as he hugged the chuunin from behind.

“You like Naruto, aren't you?” he teased.

Shit! I blushed as I turned my head away. I could hear Iruka-sensei saying that it was quite weird to do it in terms of boyfriends.. He was saying that maybe I wanted to do it out of the friendship between us.

Why was it weird? I mean.. Kakashi and Iruka-sensei were the same, weren't they?

“Kakashi's right.” I muttered under my breath as I stood up from the sofa, heading towards the front door.

“ Oh.. NANI!” Iruka-sensei exclaimed, “How.. What.. Why?” and he panicked.

I smirked as I opened the door. “I like him.”

“Don't worry. I'll take care of him.” That was all I heard from the silver haired jounin as I closed the door behind me.

Now! I had finished consulting. Then what? Oh ya! Got to buy all those stuffs. Firstly, the pair of earrings. Where should I get those? Shikamaru didn't tell me which jewellery shop which sold that kind of earrings.

I wandered around in the Konoha street once again. I went to several shops but all reply I got when I asked was, “Sorry. We don't have that one. But would you like to buy this pair instead?” I shook my head and took my leave.

I was thinking what if someone had bought that pair of earrings. Hell no! Naruto love that one. If I found out whoever had bought that pair of earrings, he or she is going to get it from me! I couldn't risk having that being bought!

I walked into the last one. The last jewellery shop in Konoha. Konoha didn't have many shops which sold jewellery. So, that was quite easy for me.

“Welcome Sir. Do you need any help?” a lady asked me with a smile.

“I'll like to have a pair of earrings. One is blue in color and another is red though. Do you have it here?” I asked.

Here better have it! This was the last shop I could go to!

“Sorry Sir. We wouldn't want to sell it to you.” The lady smiled, “Such a rich person buying that isn't worth it. Want to try anoth..”

“No.” I interrupted her. Was that pair of earrings that worthless? “I want that pair.”

The lady fidgeted alittle and excused herself. I waited for her to come serve me again. Not more than a minute, she came out from a room with a small box in her hands.

“Sir. This is the pair you want.” And she opened the box, “Although this was supposed to be one and only in the world, this aren't worth much. Actually, this pair was in different color because one of the blue and red one were lost during the making procession. That's why they in this situation, where no one wanted to buy.”

I looked at the pair of earrings. It was indeed weird. Weird combination for a person to wear but it wouldn't be the same if different wore one each. I smiled inwardly. Finally.. I had gotten what I wanted.. What Naruto wanted.

“Thanks. I would like this one.” I paid and went out of the jewellery shop, pleased with what I had in my pocket that I just bought.

I wondered how would he react when he received this! Different reactions from the blond in my thoughts made me want to laugh out loud though.. Now next, chocolates, flowers and teddy bear.. I hope no one saw me with those items. They would surely laugh their ass off and keep teasing me for the whole week!

“Thank you. Please come again.” One of the lady bowed as I walked out of the gift shop with chocolate inside the plastic bag. Great.. I would never want to visit that shop again!

Everyone was looking as if I'm a alien or something! They would be wondering which lucky girl would receive the chocolate I just bought. All of them were like smiling seductively at me. I just gave them a cold hard glare but none of them would care much! Darn!

Next would be flower.. I should go to Ino's flower shop. It wouldn't be much troublesome to ask her what flower should I get for Naruto since she knew it already. God.. I'm sounding like Shikamaru..

“Hey Sasuke-kun!” Ino greeted me with a wave, “What brings you here?”

Duh! Isn't it obvious? I'm trying to buy flowers! I growled mentally.

She gave a grin. “If you are buying for that purpose, I suggest red roses!”

I nodded slightly to indicate her helping me. She went and picked up a bunch of roses. Was I suppose to buy all that! Money isn't the problem here BUT.. This are too much flowers!

“Ino.” I sighed, “I just need an appropriate number of flowers.”

She laughed, “I know, silly! Here!”

She passed three roses which were wrapped nicely with wrapper. I took from her and examined the flowers. Roses sure looked beautiful. I never take such a close look at them before. Ino must have a great understanding of what roses they represented. She lived her life with flowers!

“Thanks.” I was about to pay her when she shook her head.

“Don't worry, Sasuke-kun.. Just win him over!” She grinned.

I couldn't help but grin back, “Thanks, Ino.”

“Your definitely welcome! Now hurry up or else Sakura and the rest will be here!” She winked.

I nodded and went off. Ino sure is a nice girl. A little sorry for her to fall in love with a lazy jounin.. Wonder how Shikamaru would treat her with the usual lazy way or what.. Now, teddy bears..

I did look for teddy bear with blur ribbon but I couldn't find any! How come not a single shop sell that? Weird.. Maybe it was sold? Don't they have any extra?

Just as I was wondering about those stuffs, I saw a group of girls in front of me, heading this way. Damn.. Had to get out of their way before they notic.. Shit.

“Isn't that Sasuke-kun?” one of them inquired.

“Yea!” Another girl cheered.

“Sasuke-kun!” and there. All of them came running towards my direction. Nothing but run for my life. I didn't want to be squeezed by them when I was troubling what to buy for Naruto. I saw an alley at the corner. I turned and hid.

They ran passed, without noticing I was in the alley. I heaved a sigh. Sign of relieved.. Where to go now? I hope I..

“Oww..” I bumped into someone.. with blonde hair..

“Sasuke?” He tilted his head alittle to look at me.

“Naruto?” my voice sounded alittle surprised.

Of course I'm surprised! I just bought that earrings, chocolates and flowers! I wouldn't want him to know yet! What is he doing here? First things first.. I hid those items behind my back.

He looked curious as usual. He wanted to take a peek but I prevented him from doing so. Suddenly, he lowered his head. I saw his eyes weren't happy. I wonder why..

“Huh?” I asked for I couldn't hear his voice clearly.

“Are.. Are those for Hinata?” He muttered.

What!

“Naruto.. I..”
