Naruto ran, leaping from tree limb to tree limb. The large scroll on his back thumping into him each time he landed. The blonde haired ninja's mind was filled with pain and hatred. He thought back too what had happened a few hours ago…

He had been resting after teaching himself the kage bunshin no jutsu from the scroll he had gotten from the Hokage when his sensei, Iruka, had found him. Naruto was about to reveal the trick he had learned, when Mizuki had appeared and attacked them. Iruka had pushed Naruto out of the way, but was not able to escape and he took the brunt of the attack. Mizuki had revealed the secret of Naruto right then and there. Naruto was the vessel containing the Kyuubi. Indeed, Naruto was the Kyuubi! Naruto had panicked and ran. After stopping for a minute to lean on the trunk of a tree, he heard Mizuki and Iruka talking in the clearing behind him.

-Flashback-

"How did you know?" Mizuki asked, dropping the Iruka illusion he created, "That I wasn't Iruka?" The Naruto chuckled as he fell down against the tree he had landed in front of. The chuckling turned into coughing. He looked at Mizuki and smiled.

"Because I'm Iruka," The Naruto illusion dropped and it revealed an injured Iruka slumped against the tree.

"Why do you defend that demon boy?" Mizuki demanded, "Don't you hate that fox demon?"

"I do hate him. He took my family. Bu…" Iruka could not finish his thought though as his body was wracked with coughs that last for a few moments. When he brought his head back up, he saw a flash of orange and suddenly Naruto was standing between the two men. The blonde haired ninja's face was covered in shadow. When he looked at Iruka, the fox boy's face no longer held the mischievous smile it usually did. Instead the face that confronted him was one of pure hatred.

"You…bastard," Naruto whispered, "Even you despised me. What were you going to do? Become my friend and then kill me when I least expect it! Well, fuck you! Fuck this whole village! I'm out of here! And when I come back everyone will pay! Kage bunshin no jutsu!" The last few sentences were yelled out and Naruto finished by performing a ninjutsu.

Iruka's mouth fell open in shock as hundreds of perfect clones of Naruto appeared. He then was surprised again when each one of the clones turned and ran in opposite directions, disappearing into the woods. Mizuki grunted in anger and ran off in one direction after one of the clones or maybe it was the real Naruto. As Iruka felt unconsciousness coming on he could only think of one thing.

"Naruto, I didn't mean it like that…"

-End of Flashback-

Naruto could feel tears coursing down his cheeks. He batted them away angrily, he would shed no tears for a people and place that hated him. He gave a shout of surprise when he exploded out the forest and landed on a well used road. He looked around, realizing how easy it must be for anyone to find him. He had to get back into the forest on the other side and keep going, but before he could he heard laughter behind him. He whirled around to see the sneering face of Mizuki. The man was standing right on the edge of the forest, whirling the two giant shurikens he had attached to his back.

"Found you demon boy," He laughed coldly, "Now, I'm going to kill you, take the forbidden scroll, and then kill Iruka. Everyone will believe that you had killed Iruka and I found you in the act and had to kill you in defense. Well enough of that, it's time to die, demon!" And he released both shurikens at the young ninja. Naruto quickly created several clones and used them as shields, allowing himself to dodge the deadly blades. He then attacked Mizuki with his doubles. Mizuki was able to eliminate many of them, but many more got in hits. Finally, with a scream of rage he threw himself at the real Naruto, though he did not realize it. Naruto was in the process of removing a kunai from his pouch to plunge into Mizuki's leg and disable him and was surprised when Mizuki knocked into him. Instinct took over and Naruto plunged the blade into Mizuki and leapt a few feet away. When Mizuki did not move Naruto slowly approached and turned him over. Out of the neck of the body stuck Naruto's kunai. Naruto was shocked, this was the first dead body he had ever seen, and he had killed him. As he stood over the crumpled form he began to laugh. He threw his head back and laughed, his eyes wide and sparkling with momentary insanity. He then turned and ran. He ran from the body that had been Mizuki. He ran from the village that despised him for something he could not change. He ran until he collapsed and let sleep take him.

If he had been awake he would have realized that he was not alone when he fell into that deep slumber. A figure leaned over the body of the sleeping ninja. The figure bent and covered Naruto with a blanket. Wrapping the sheet around the sleeping form, the figure rose, cradling the wrapped body to its chest. A high, mothering tone spoke to Naruto, "Sleep well young one, it is time for you to come home." Darkness wrapped around the figure and seconds later there was nothing to show that Naruto or any one had existed there.

And the prologue is…done. I don't really have any solid ideas for any pairings. I will take suggestions, but no yaoi or yuri thank you. So give me some feed back please. I will take constructive criticism, but no flames please.
